Day 31 for @huffletrax YuleTube prompt list! I had a lot of fun writing these stories, honestly. A few of them even let me expand the Chaos is Normal universe a little bit, which was really fun.

This story does include some mildly suggestive content (roughly to the extent that “Dark” had, so it isn’t anything major, but I thought it would be a good idea to give a heads-up).

Party

Roman was excited for the New Year’s Eve party he and Remus had pulled together. They had finished decorating the smaller ballroom in the central castle in the Imagination. It had been determined that this would happen even before Janus had revealed his name, but it was even bigger now that his joining the main group was being celebrated, as well.

Roman straightened out his ascot and secured it with the tie pin that featured his logo. He knew Remus would be in a similar outfit tonight; they’d planned that out, after all. The Prince pulled on his vest and buttoned it up, before sitting on the bench at the end of his bed and pulling on his tall boots, lacing them up and tying them. He tucked the ends of the laces into the boots, and stood once more, adjusting his hair in the mirror before straightening up, smiling a bit to himself. His boots were black, as he usually wore. His pants were white, and fit close to his frame. Roman had on a red dress shirt, with a white ascot, and over that he had a white vest with gold roses embroidered in. Over everything, he pulled on a red tailcoat. He rarely wore this suit, finding it far too formal for most events, and especially before Remus was accepted, he hated wearing it, as it made him stand out a bit much even for his own liking. But, Remus would be in a similar suit, which comforted him.

Roman came into the ballroom to find the castle staff setting out different food and drink options, and Remus setting up a few smaller things off to the side. Remus was in a similar outfit to Roman, though his clothes were black where Roman’s were white, green where Roman’s were red, and instead of gold roses, Remus’ vest had silver thorns embroidered in. Remus’ mustache was trimmed and neat, and his hair, though fluffy, was actually combed, and the white streak was freshly touched up, going by just how brightly it stood out from the rest of his hair.

“Looking good, Re,” Roman praised with a smile. It wasn’t often Remus would clean up like this, so it was quite a sight.

“Right back at ya, Romano,” Remus smiled. “Matthew keeps trying to get me to put on my damn crown.”

“I almost forgot about the crowns,” Roman mused. “Would you wear it if I wore mine?”

“They’re still dumb.”

“We’ll look dumb together, then.”

“Fine.”

Almost immediately, a pair of castle staff approached the pair, one carrying a gold crown with red jewels set into it, and the other carrying a silver crown with green jewels set into it. The crowns were set on each twins’ head, and the two staff bowed and took off to assist with final preparations. It didn’t take long for things to be completely ready, just in time for the other residents of the Mindscape to enter.

Logan was first, unsurprisingly. They were dressed in a fairly simple suit, with black shoes, dark blue slacks and matching jacket, black shirt, and a two-toned blue tie consisting of a dark blue base color, and lighter blue circuit-board patterning. Their hair was combed back neatly away from their face, and they actually looked a bit intimidating.

Entering next was Janus. He was in a set of black shoes and black slacks, a yellow dress shirt, black bowtie, and a black suit jacket with an intricate snake embroidered into the left side with metallic gold thread. As usual, he had his yellow gloves, bowler hat, and capelet on, as well. As always, he looked put together.

Patton and Emile entered together. Patton wore the grey suit he’d worn in the courtroom before Lee and Mary-Lee’s wedding, though his jacket had hearts and swirls embroidered into it in light blue, and he had a small frog pin on his lapel. Meanwhile, Emile wore a tan two-piece suit, white shirt, and a light blue tie with a light pink paisley pattern on it. It was a new tie Patton had just given him for Christmas, and Emile seemed to love it.

Virgil came in next, dressed in black skinny jeans, black heeled boots, a purple dress shirt, black tie with shimmery purple spiderwebs patterned on it, and a black vest with his usual purple and black patches and white stitches. His eyeshadow was more glittery than usual, and had a purple tint to it, and he was wearing proper eyeliner, as well.

Remy and Dice came in last, entering together. Remy had on his dark sunglasses, like he always did, along with a set of black shoes, black skinny jeans, a white dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, a tie the color of coffee with a bit of cream added with a pattern of white Zzz’s all over it, and matching suspenders. Dice, meanwhile, was wearing black shoes, black slacks, a dark grey turtleneck, a dark plum suit jacket, and a scarf made to look like a strip of film. To say they both looked good would be an understatement.

With everyone now in the ballroom, the party was able to properly begin. Everyone seemed to be having a good time, chatting, eating, drinking, and getting up to various sorts of shenanigans. Remus pulled Logan aside to dance, Remy was seemingly playing a game with himself to see just how bright he could get Patton and Emile to blush -which at some point the other two seemed to join in on and retaliate, trying to make Remy blush as bright as they could get him to-, Janus was chatting with Dice about various movies, and Virgil and Roman were joking and chatting.

By the time midnight was approaching, just about everyone had shed at least one layer of their clothes. Remus and Roman had both ditched their tailcoats, many of the others had shed their jackets, Dice had also taken off his scarf, Janus had taken off his capelet, hat, and jacket, and untied his bowtie, Remy’s suspenders were no longer on his shoulders, but rather hanging from where they were secured to his pants, Virgil was walking around without his shoes on, and even Logan had taken off their jacket and loosened their tie.

Patton, Emile, and Remy were growing fairly handsy with one another, and Remus and Janus were in a similar state. Virgil half-joked that it wouldn’t be surprising if people had various bruises in the morning. Roman had simply swept him into another dance in response.

Time practically flew until they were approaching the final countdown to the new year. Roman attempted to get everyone’s attention, though over the noise his words were lost, until Remus got up on a table, cupped his hands around his mouth, and shouted.

“Hey, horny bastards, listen up!” Remus called out over the group, catching everyone’s attention and directing their eyes to him as he cackled.

“To be fair, you’re a horny bastard, yourself,” Logan stated, pushing their glasses up the bridge of their nose.

“Yeah, but that’s my natural state of being,” Remus shrugged.

“Put a pin in that, for now,” Roman stated. “I just wanna say, before we ring in the new year, that this year was quite a ride. We’ve helped Thomas, helped each other. Hell, there’s no more Dark Side to the Mindscape! We’re all together, now. Thomas met a cute guy, we accepted Remus,” he paused and looked at his twin, smiling a bit as Remus looked back up at him with a smile of his own. “Logan came out of the closet, and we finally learned Janus’ name. Sure, Thomas skipped out on a massive call-back, and went to a wedding where he felt like he was just another face in the crowd, and, he burnt himself out… But, we’ve all learned from all that. This coming year will be better, I know it,” he finished, as the others murmured their agreements.

Soon, the group had all pulled themselves together enough to head out onto the balcony and join the final countdown to the new year. Roman had Virgil held close, an arm around his shoulders. Remy had Patton and Emile held close to him, and Remus held Janus and Logan around the shoulders. Dice was leaning against the wall near everybody else, seemingly unbothered by the fact he wasn’t being held close by someone else.

Finally, the countdown began.

“Ten… Nine… Eight… Seven… Six… Five… Four… Three… Two… One… Happy New Year!”

The Sides all joined in, cheering as fireworks began to go off overhead. There were kisses exchanged, laughter, and just a wave of joy coming over everyone. It was enough excitement to turn Virgil’s eyeshadow a bright, glittery purple as Roman pulled him into a kiss.

It was another hour or two until everyone finally started to head to their own rooms. Roman and Remus simply snapped away the mess left behind, before leaving with their partners to go back into the main Mindscape. It had been quite the party to welcome the new year, and everyone was hoping that things would look up in the coming year. In the morning, they would all be talking about the previous night, once they started to recover from the late night and drinks. For now, though, everyone was off to likely either fool around, or simply rest, crashing half-dressed on their beds.

Some random fluff things

I should really finish my homework and go to bed somewhat earlier than I usually do, I have a final plus an FRQ tomorrow one after the other

But I mean

Homework and sleep got nothing on fluff headcanon stuff for ships so here's a disorganized mess of fluff. It's also only for two ships so-

Roman x Emile x Logan (Rolomile)

Plus Patton, Damien(Deceit), and Virgil as their kiddos, and a side Rem^2!

Logan's originally a single dad to a boy named Patton, and Emile and Roman are already married with their two sons Damien and Virgil. They meet Logan when they were called in one day cause Virgil got into a fight at school defending his friend Andy, and once they were home and reassured Virgil they weren't mad Roman and Emile had a long and private discussion about this teacher cause he was so cute and calm and captured their hearts almost immediately

So they ask Virgil about him(Virgil's like, 11 at this point btw) and Vee ain't an idiot, he's the best crush finder out of all the sixth graders, and immediately calls them out and just tell his dads "if you both like him ask him out!"

And so they do, and it ends up going very well! The three go out for coffee, letting the boys stay at Logan's friend's house(Thomas's house). They run into Remus and his boyfriend Remy who somehow knew Logan and they all just sorta hang out

Logan's very confused about how these two married men that obviously love each other so much and are happy with where there family is find him interesting, and he's a bit unsure when it comes to entering a romantic relationship with them. More long talks ensue

Patton also encourages his Papa to date Roman and Emile, the five year old claiming "he'd love to have three papas!" and how excited he'd be if there was more love to go around. As well as excitement over seeing Virgil and Damien more often

Logan does eventually get romantically involved with them and lemme tell you, Roman and Emile used to pride themselves on not ever getting flustered

That pride was thrown out the damn window, Logan makes them flustered with his light laugh and the way he can go on and on about a subject and turn the most boring thing into the most interesting

Logan's also really cuddly and touchy, often playing with their hands or hair, hugging them from behind or placing kisses all over their faces

He nearly gave Emile a heart attack when Emile stumbled in on Logan singing Virgil, Dee, and Patton a lullaby

Roman had originally proposed to Emile. Emile proposes to Logan this time, making sure it's absolutely perfect for their nerd

They all take turns as to who sleeps in the middle each night

Logan reads to them until they fall asleep if they're having a rough day

Emile and Logan talk a lot about psychology and mental health. Damien was really excited to continue learning about that kinda thing, especially cause once he gets older his psychology and health teacher isn't all that great

Roman and Logan are both very competitive and have created the following games : who could fluster Em the most, which one could put the boys to sleep faster(Emile triumphed without even playing), who knew the most musicals or films in x genre, first to clean the most dishes, the best baker(Patton and Dee crushed them with this, and now neither Roman or Logan is allowed to ever cook unless Emile is supervising), and who will last longer for a no blushing game when Emile rambled adorably about whatever new thing he found super interesting

Oh yeah and Roman's a painter cause I said so and he'll often make paintings of his boyfriends. There's a lot of paintings of Logan and Emile out somewhere with a pretty backdrop.

Remus is a photographer in this and has definitely taken many photos of his brother and his husbands whenever asked cause it means he can bring Remy to a really nice date spot too

Remus is very protective over Virgil, and will fight anyone and anything that hurts Virgil

Virgil is very clingy in the mornings, not that Remus is complaining when Virgil's holding him tightly and refusing to let him out of bed

They write together, it was initially a thing Remus did by himself as a suggestion from Logan and then Virgil tried it to help relax and it worked. They've done multiple collaborative short stories, and they both write a Logicality fic together on a shared account on Tumblr

Remus often asks Virgil if he's doing alright whenever things start to get heated, constantly checking if what they were doing was fine and reminding Virgil it was okay to say no. Virgil really appreciates this

Sometimes they need to take breaks so they have a thing where they spend the day away from one another and do their own thing, they end up with some wild stories in the end

Remus is actually a really good cook, especially when it comes to Virgil's favorite things. He really loves making homemade pizza for them

Remus will hum Virgil to sleep

The others are very surprised when they find out they're dating

And nearly gave heart attacks once they find out that Virgil and Remus aren't actually dating, but are engaged

Virgil tells Remus he loves him every single day, any chance he gets. But he's always sure to say it before they go to sleep and just after waking up

Ok but I made a danganronpa thh x sanders sides thing where the thh characters memories are wiped once again for the most part, have to do side duties and help Makoto (Who's Thomas) go through life. For example:

Chihiro, Sakura, and Hina are in the morality department (Patton)

Leon, Taka, and Sayaka are in the 'good' creativity department (Roman)

Mondo, Toko, and Mukuro all are in the anxiety department (Virgil)

Byakuya and Kyoko are in the logic department (Logan)

Celestia is in the deceit department (Janus)

Junko is in the 'bad' creativity department (Remus)

Hifumi is Dr. Picani but I guess he'd reference anime more

This AU originally started as a story I was going to write, and though I am still attempting to write it, I’m not as intent on finishing it. Day 24 of @huffletrax‘s YuleTube prompt list!

It was Christmas Eve, and the Sides were all gathering in the Mindscape common area to begin their celebration. Patton and Emile had made gingerbread and sugar cookies, while Logan and Remus got a warm, crackling fire going in the fireplace. All the Sides were in their Christmas sweaters, and some holiday movie was playing on the TV, filling the room with festive noise as everyone gathered.

Virgil and Janus came out of their rooms, each carrying gifts to put under the tree. Most of the others had already brought things out, and their gifts were the last to join the pile. Roman and Remy helped to arrange everything around the tree, to keep things at least somewhat out of the way. Some gifts ended up behind the tree completely, though it wouldn’t be much of an issue in the morning; Emile and Remus had both expressed they would be more than happy to crawl behind the tree to find things.

Once everyone was gathered in the commons, with snacks and drinks dotted around, and laughter filling the air, Patton attempted to get everyone’s attention. Unfortunately, he wasn’t easily heard above all the chatter. Though his attempts didn’t go unnoticed by Remus, who handed Patton his cup of warm apple cider before hopping up and standing on his seat.

“Yo, shut the fuck up!” Remus shouted, with his hands cupped around his mouth like a megaphone. Everyone quickly fell silent, as Remus cackled and Patton sputtered half-hearted protests to his language. Remus sat back down, beaming as he took his cup of cider back from Patton.

“Um, thank you, Remus,” Patton said, finally managing to gather his thoughts as everyone chuckled a bit, except for Logan, who simply rolled their eyes, before planting a kiss on Remus’ cheek. “Are we ready to do first gifts?” Patton asked.

“You all do first gifts, too?” Janus asked. “I thought it was just, well…”

“A Dark Side thing?” Virgil finished. Janus nodded. “It was, at first.”

“Virgil suggested we try it his first Christmas with us,” Logan stated. “It was enjoyable, and we decided to keep the tradition going.”

“Well, that’s, a pleasant surprise,” Janus stated. “But, it would seem we’re all ready.”

A chorus of agreements came from the other Sides, and Patton couldn’t help but smile. One by one, each Side went over to the tree and picked up a single gift that was marked for them. Soon, everyone settled down in their spots again, some on the sofa, others sitting on the floor, Virgil was perched in Roman’s lap, and Remus was sitting on the back of the sofa.

“So, who first?” Virgil asked, once everybody was settled.

“I think our newest name should go first,” Patton suggested, looking towards Janus. All the other Sides followed suit, looking towards the scaled Side.

“Alright, alright,” Janus conceded, chuckling softly. He read the tag on the round gift, wrapped in dull yellow with a black ribbon. “It’s from Virgil,” he observed, glancing over to the purple-clad Side before untying the ribbon and setting it aside. He tore away the wrapping paper to find a soft snake-scale patterned blanket underneath. He stood up and unrolled the blanket, running his fingertips over the soft material, before wrapping it around himself. “Oh, I hate it,” he said with a smile.

“You’re welcome,” Virgil chuckled. He was the next Side to open the gift in his hands. It was a smaller box, wrapped in blue wrapping paper with snowflakes patterned all over it. “It’s from Remy,” he read off the sticker on the side. Virgil tore away the wrapping paper and removed the top of the gift box, before pulling out the metallic purple travel mug. “Sweet, can never have too many of these things,” he smiled.

“Yeah, babe,” Remy replied. “And there’s no way to get it mixed up with mine, since it’s purple,” he stated. Remy looked over his gift next, finding the tag taped to the light blue wrapping. “From Patton,” he said, smiling a bit as he tore away the paper. Under the wrapping paper, he found a pillow shaped like a s’more, complete with four layers; the two graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallow. “Oh my god, Babe!” Remy laughed, smiling brightly as he hugged the pillow. “It’s so sweet!”

“Not as sweet as you,” Patton countered with a smile, before looking over the gift in his hands. “Looks like it’s from Remus,” he said, finding the tag tied onto the bright green ribbon. He untied the ribbon and set it aside, before ripping away the silver wrapping paper. Under the wrapping was a box with lollipops patterned all over it, and Patton-pops written in bright pink script. “Oooh, this is one of those custom boxes from that shop in the Imagination!” he exclaimed.

“I remembered you saying you liked them, but the place is pretty hard to get to, so, I had them put together a custom variety box,” Remus sheepishly responded, rubbing the back of his neck a bit.

“It’s perfect,” Patton smiled.

Remus smiled in return, before turning over the gift in his hands. “Mine’s from Emile,” he read off the tag, before ripping the pink snowflake-patterned wrapping away from the gift in his hands. It looked like a green and black pencil case, but when Remus opened it, he found a number of different fidget and stim toys inside. A couple of different fidget cubes, a small tin of putty, and a couple of chewable necklaces were in the case, with room for other things to be put in. “Oh cool, it’s all like, fidget stuff,” he said with a smile.

Emile smiled, watching as Remus picked up the putty tin and pulled the putty out, before looking at the gift he had in his hands. “This one’s from Roman,” he read off the tag. He tore away the bright red wrapping paper to reveal a leather-bound notebook. The cover was a warm tan color, and had an image of Totoro hand embossed into the leather. “Roman… This is beautiful,” he breathed.

“You’re always saying you need another notebook for work,” Roman shrugged. “This one’s from Dice,” he read off, before pulling the gold ribbon off the tube in his hands. He pulled away the cream-colored wrapping paper and took off the paper sleeve keeping what looked to be a set of posters rolled up. He unrolled the pages to find they were posters depicting blueprints for a number of Disneyland rides. “Holy Zeus,” he breathed. “Dice, how did you…?”

“A magician never reveals his secrets,” the critic smirked. “Mine’s from Logan,” he read off the tag, before going on to tear away the wrapping paper. This one was also a tube, which Dice unrolled to reveal a poster of his own, which had a hundred scratch-off swatches for different movies. “Oh, that’s cool,” he smiled. He had a couple of similar posters, but this one had quite a few titles his others lacked.

“Considering your fondness for various movies, I thought it would be a reasonable gift,” Logan stated. “And you do often claim to be unsure of what to watch next. Maybe this could provide some ideas.”

“It’s great, Teach,” Dice replied, rolling the poster back up.

Logan had a small smile as they looked over the gift in their hands. “This is from Janus,” they read, glancing towards the scaled Side, who was curled up under the soft blanket he had opened earlier in the evening. They gave a soft chuckle at the sight, before carefully tearing away the grey and blue striped paper. “An herbal tea sampler box?”

“You’ve said you wanted to experiment with different teas,” Janus shrugged. “And, my dear, you need to relax every once in a while,” he added.

“I suppose you’re right,” Logan admitted. “These do seem interesting,” they said, looking over the side of the box to see what it contained. “Thank you.”

Janus just smiled and gave a slight nod. Logan hardly had time to question the action before they were picked up from their spot on the sofa by Remus, who had since put his putty away in its tin, and carried over to where Janus sat. Remus sat down, and set Logan in his lap with a smile, while Janus leaned against his shoulder.

Patton watched everyone chat and admire their presents for some time, until everyone decided to call it a night and clean up so they could all get some rest. He and the others all cleaned up, and took their presents to their rooms, as the entire Mindscape still buzzed with excitement for tomorrow morning.

Patton stared at his phone. He had a shift at the office in a few minutes, but he couldn't..... He didn't quite know what he couldn't do today, but he couldn't do it. He called in sick. Emile was very understanding. "Take as long as you need, Pat," he said. "Your mental health comes first."

"Thanks, Dr. Picani." He hung up and continued to stare at the message on his phone.

It was him. After all these years, it was really him. And, paired with the fact that it was only a week till his brother's birthday.... The last two years of high school came rushing back.

Patton's phone chimed.

Ro's birthday is coming up.

Like Patton didn't compulsively write down the date in his calender every year. June 4. They would have been twenty-six.

Patton stared at his phone without really seeing the messages. Tears started to bluer his vision. He wiped them away, only for them to return with a vengeance. Finally, Patton just let himself sob, hoping to get everything out by the time Virgil got home.

Virgil waved to his friends as he walked to his front door. His dad's car was in the driveway, which was a surprise. Normally, he wouldn't be back until dinner. He slowly opened the door. "Dad," he asked. Patton gave Virgil a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes.

"Hey, kiddo! How was school?"

"Okay. How are you doing? Are you sick?"

"No, no, I'm fine. Just taking a mental health day. Sit down! I made popcorn. We can watch Black Cauldron."

Virgil sighed and sat down, leaning on Patton. Patton put part of his blanket around the teen and pulled him closer. He loved his son more than anything. He would not let Virgil go through the same things he did.

Just as Virgil was about to go to sleep, someone knocked on his door. "Come in," he called. Patton opened the door and gave him another fake smile. He sat down on the chair beside Virgil's desk.

"Can I tell you a story," Patton asked.

"I'm a little old for bedtime stories."

"Please? It's kinda boring, but.... I'll be quick. Please?" Virgil stared at his dad. He hated the desperate look in hs eyes. It was getting closer to June, which meant he'd grow quiet and a bit withdrawn. Maybe this was to preemptively make up for it?

"Sure." Virgil laid down and looked up at Patton.

"Thanks, Virge," he said with a slightly more real, relieved smile. "Let me tell you a story about six boys growing up in Florida."

Logan Crofters, Roman and Remus Ryan, Janus Pine, Emile Picani, and Patton Hart. They had been best friends since kindergarten. They were all inseparable. Things got worse in middle school when Roman came out as trans. His parents refused to let him transition or cut his hair, and the other kids were less than supportive. Remus let him wear his clothes, though, and his friends all defended him when they could. And they all survived until high school.

Fast foreward to sophmore year. Logan was on the fast track to becoming valedictorian. The other kids, in addition to whispering, "Fag," and, "Tranny," at them all in the halls, taunted Logan for his intelligence. Remus and Janus got into fights often to protect the others. Patton and Emile tried to keep the group's moral up. Logan and Roman always took it all harder than the others, but they had one teacher, Mr. Sanders, who let them eat lunch in his classroom and used Roman's proper pronouns. He even congratulated Patton and Remus when they started dating. He'd always pair up Janus and Emile for group projects, just to watch them flirt.

Patton, Roman, and Remus's parents passed around a petition to get him fired the next year. It was successful. That was the year everything fell apart.

Roman and Logan couldn't handle the pressure that came with the grades and the bullying. They always said they were fine, but....

One day, Logan quit his job at the library. Said it just wasn't worth it anymore. Roman stopped eating and always brushed his friends off when they begged him to try.

They died the same night. June 4, Roman's birthday. Roman overdosed on antidepressants. Janus, Remus, Emile, and Patton read his note over and over again.

Dear Friends,

I want to start by saying this isn't your fault. Remus, you were the most amazing, supportive brother anyone could ask for. Patton, Janus, Emile, Logan, you are all wonderful and perfect, and you all deserve the world. But.... I can't do this anymore. I can't live in this body one more day or hear someone call me Rachel one more time. I just can't do it. I love you all so much. Please don't dwell on this for too long. I want you all to be happy, okay?

Mom, Dad, I'm sorry I couldn't be everything you wanted me to be. I wish I could have been as good a son as Remus was. I wish you could have loved me as much as he did.

And, Mr. Sanders, if you ever see this.... Thank you. For everything.

Logan hung himself. He didn't leave a note. His parents at least gave him a funeral. Roman's parents didn't care enough to even do that.

Luckily, Remus, Janus, Emile, and Patton had saved enough from their various jobs to have him cremated. Emile's parents insisted on helping out, which helped a lot.

The group burried Roman's urn just outside the cemetery where Logan rested. Luckily, his grave was at the edge of the gate so Roman's could be near his. Remus painted a large rock to use as a marker. They all stood by the small grave, Janus holding Emile and Patton and Remus squeezing each other's hands, until the sun rose.

Patton stayed with Remus after Janus and Emile left.

"I can't stay here anymore," Remus had whispered. "I can't stay with the people who killed my brother."

"I know," Patton whispered. "I hate our parents." He brushed back his bangs to show Remus a black eye and a bruised cheek. "If we save enough, we'll run away together," he promised. "We'll get Janus and Emile, and we'll all go to Massachusetts, and we'll get married." Remus nodded.

"I like that." He gently pulled Patton close, and they shared a long, sweet kiss.

Things didn't work out. Senior year was worse. Janus, Emile, Patton, and Remus were the gays who were friends with the two who killed themselves, and that's all anyone ever treated them as. Janus's parents took him and moved to Delaware. He and Emile stayed in touch for a few months before the lost contact. Janus and Patton still talked occasionally, though, even after high school. Emile, Patton, and Remus stuck together, but things would never be the same.

When senior year ended, Patton and Emile prepared to move to Massachusetts, but Remus wouldn't go.

"Please," Patton begged. "We found a cute apartment in Salem. We can start over. We can get jobs while Emile is at school. We can build our own lives. Please come with us." Remus shook his head.

"I can't," he said. "It's only been a year since they died. I just can't leave them yet." Patton hugged him tightly.

"Keep in touch," he asked. Remus nodded and pressed a kiss to his lips.

Over the next few years, Patton kept in touch with Remus. Every year, he said he would finally move in with him, and every year, he had an excuse not to. Eventually, they stopped talking as much, and when Patton changed his number, he forgot to tell Remus.

"He and Emile stayed together, though," Patton finished. "Patton became Emile's receptionist when he started practicing independently."

"What about Janus and Remus," Virgil asked.

"Janus is still in Delaware, and I guess Remus is with him." Virgil nodded. He wasn't an idiot. He knew Patton had just told him his life story. He just wasn't going to press any further than that. Maybe someday, Patton would tell him more, but it was almost the day his friends killed themselves. Patton needed time.

The next day, Patton went back to work. Larry and Dot were happy to see him. When their appointment was almost over, another patient entered the waiting room and walked up to Patton's desk. "Hey," he said, head tilted down. His voice was low and familiar.

"Hi! Do you have an appointment?"

"N-no. I just moved here and was hoping I could set one up."

"Okay.... Dr. Picani is with a patient right now, but-- Remus?" Remus was staring at Patton, a sad frown accepting his dull eyes. "L-like I was saying, Emile--"

"Why didn't you answer my texts?" Patton began to fiddle with a pen. "You could have just said you didn't want to see me. I get it. I probably remind you of Ro and Logan, and that's fine. I failed you and I put off moving even though I said I would, and I understand that you're mad, and it's okay. But--"

"I wanted to see you." Remus stared at Patton, who stared right back.

"What?"

"I wanted to see you, but I couldn't say it. It's just so close to Roman's birthday, and I didn't know what to do or what to tell my son--"

"You have a son?" Patton nodded, tears in his eyes.

"I adopted him five years ago. His name is Virgil. He's funny, he's dark, and strange and sarcastic, and I love him more than anything."

"Boyfriend or husband?"

"Single dad and rockin' it." Remus laughed despite the tears that were escaping his eyes. Patton laughed with him, also crying. "I'm sorry. For everything," he sobbed. Remus took his hand.

"Me too." And that's how Larry and Dot found them five minutes later.

Holding hands and crying, together again.

rating sanders sides ships

ok, starting off with a classic;

Prinxiety (virgil x roman): honestly a very solid ship. it has the pull-in factor of the ‘enemies to lovers’ tension, and the sweet sweet make-up fluff in ‘accepting anxiety’. it was the first ship i shipped in SS, so im always gonna have a soft spot for it. but, roman has a hard time being comfortable around virgil bc of his fear of the dark sides. but that could just turn into some fun hurt/comfort shit so i don't have many complaints. 9/10 (i do ship, but not as much as other ships)

Logicality (logan x patton): such a fluffy ship. a staple in the fandom as well. they have a great dynamic, and you can tell logan is very soft for patton in almost all of their interactions in the earlier episodes. (not so much recently, bc logan is frustrated with the light sides), logan really does care for patton, and lets his guard down the most around him. its sweet to watch their banter, and i love how they are so fluffy. 10/10 (i will forever ship them, one of my fluffiest ships)

Analogical (virgil x patton): honestly they do have a great dynamic, and i can see the appeal. they are both analytical, and will balance each other out very well, and we have seen cases of that throughout the series. i don't really have any complaints, or much to say, but they are very cute. 7/10 (i ship almost all SS ships, this one is just a little boring. still cute though!)

Royality (roman x patton): cute! i feel like they would also be pretty fluffy, but would also get wrapped up in problems and it would be hard to find their way out. i.e. in the moving on ep when roman and patton were getting sucked into the nostalgia. they would be a nice couple, but light sides x light sides don't really do it for me much anymore. their dynamic is also a little basic and not very interesting. but i totally get why people ship them, and i wouldn't turn down reading a fic on these two! 6/10 (boring, but v v cute.)

Logince (logan x roman): its sorta like the prinxiety thing with the arguing and differences thing. they are complete opposites, so i get why people ship them. they are cute! they would also balance each other out really well, and i could see them being a very good couple! 7/10 (cute! nice dynamic!)

Moxiety (virgil x patton): this ship makes me very uncomfortable. if the show didn't make it so apparent that their dynamic is more on the family side like father and son, i wouldn't be uncomfortable, but we are constantly reminded of how they see each other as parent figure and son. i know they aren't biologically related, it just weirds me out. 3/10 (creepy and kinda incesty)

!DECEIT NAME SPOILERS AHEAD! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! 

Mociet (janus x patton): ugh i love this ship! so so cute! has the potential for very good slowburn and angst! im always a sucker for forbidden love as well. very good dynamic, and janus does have a way of flirty with basically every side, so i kinda love this. 9.5/10 (CUTECUTECUTE! i love!)

Loceit (logan x janus): a big otp of mine. very very cute, and i love reading about Logan being fascinated by janus’ snake stuff. very fucking cute, and i love it so so much. logan would definitely be impressed with janus and his knowledge and shit so they would make a great pair. logan also isn't scared of him like the other sides so i like this ship a lot. 10/10 ( cute cute cute yes i love this one a little too much)

Anxciet (virgil x janus): I mean, i love all dark sides ships, so i like this one enough. i like it, but also there is a lot of resentment and a lot of hate between these two that its hard to watch it. but i love angst a lot more than fluff, so i guess its pretty alright. 6/10 (not really any big opinions on this one)

Rociet (roman x janus): once again hitting me with all the angsty ships, which i love. these two have some serious talking to do, and i don't really ship it much to be honest. what i do love though, are unsympathetic patton and roman. now that shit slaps. 5/10 (meh)

Dukeciet/demus (janus x remus): AHHHH i love this ship! their dynamic would be so fun to watch! i can't wait to get some fan service with these two. they have my favorite dynamic out of all the ships, and i love both of the characters so much. 10/10 (o t fucking p)

Intruality (patton x remus:) honestly, i kinda like this one. i feel like patton and remus would be a little funny to watch. patton would be uncomfortable, but would learn to love him. honestly cute as hell. 8/10 (fun pair)

Dukxiety (remus x virgil): i feel like virgil doesn't like remus, or did at some point but can't be around him now. remus puts virgil on edge like no other side, and i don't think that that would be fun to read about. virgil would be too on edge to let his guard down. 3/10 (bad dynamic)

Intrulogical (logan x remus): I? love? this? ship? so much???L:KDOI@EJ so cute! i love the dynamic! logan would def be able to calm remus down real quick. they would be very fun to read about and their dynamic is so fun! 9/10 (i love this one!)

Remrom (remus x roman) whAT FUCKING SICKOS MADE THIS SHIT UP??? they are twins! brothers! family!!!!! i could understand patton and virgil but i honest to god do not understand this one at fucking all. to anyone that ships this, i hope you THINK ABOUT THIS SHIT REAL HARD AND GOOD AND SEE IF YOU STILL SHIP THEM. -128188723/10 (ITS INCEST YALL)

any of the ships with remy and dr picani: i don't really like it? i mean i love the characters, but they aren't even in the same world so i have trouble connecting them. 4/10. 

any polysanders ship: i fucking love poly sanders so much. its my fav ship, literally fucking all of the combos. gimme gimme please. (except remrom. never remrom.) my fav is dlamp or drlamp. i just love the idea of them all being happy and in love after some nice slowburn angst. 10/10 (gorgeous, beautiful, lovely, cute, fun, ama-)
