Prompt 5 - Gold
@wolfstarmicrofic June 5, word count 638
Previous part First part
They stood beside the lake and watched the firefighters putting the fire out. They all squirmed when McGonagall came to stand in front of them and glared.
“I am almost certain that one of you, if not all of you, had something to do with this.” Her eyes were on Sirius.
Remus started fiddling with the red and gold friendship bracelet on his wrist. Sirius's hand reached over and covered his own, stilling the nervous fingers. Sirius turned his charm on Minerva, keeping his hand on Remus as though it was normal.
“Minnie, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that it wasn’t me.”  Sirius’s thumb brushed the soft underside of Remus’s wrist. Remus felt a shiver go down his spine and he had to try hard to keep his pounding heartbeat from giving him away.
“Alright everybody, the fire is out. Please return to your cabins, and we’ll see you bright and early for a treasure hunt.” Albus spoke to all the congregated campers and leaders.
“I will figure out who is responsible,” Minerva narrowed her eyes again at the four from Gryffindor cabin. However, her eyes did soften at Remus. He hadn’t been there that long for her to think he’d had anything to do with it. She strode away from them to talk with Albus and the firefighters.
“Come on,” Sirius started towards their cabin, dragging Remus along with him.
They piled onto Sirius’s bed this time. Sirius pulled Remus onto the bed beside him.
“Stop looking so worried Pete. We didn’t leave anything for them to think it was us.” James tried to reassure the nervous boy.
“Yeah, Petey. The only thing we left behind was the tin box and that was just a cheap thing we found in the supply cupboard.” Sirius joined in. “Besides, all the evidence will have burned up.” Remus couldn’t help it, he snorted, which set off the others. Soon they were all giggling.
Sirius reached over to the little bedside table and opened the cupboard. He sat back up with a packet of Mars bars in his hand and started handing them out. Remus bit into the gooey treat and smiled happily. He wiggled his foot as the chocolate, caramel and nougat melted onto his tongue. He saw Sirius cock his head at the movement out of the corner of his eye. Remus stilled the movement and looked down, trying to ignore Sirius’s gaze.
Sirius laid back onto his pillow and stretched his legs out into Remus’s lap. He began slowly wiggling his feet back and forth like Remus had been a moment before. Remus blinked down at his lap, frozen.
“So treasure hunt tomorrow, what do we think that entails?” Sirius asked the group. Peter had calmed down now that he had chocolate.
“Last year they hid the clues around the lake, it’ll probably be in the forest,” Peter said around a mouthful of chocolate.
“Yeah, but that’s what they did the year before,” James said thoughtfully. “Plus you burnt down half the forest Pete,” James added, chuckling.
“James,” Peter whined.
“I’m only teasing Pete. There’s still plenty of trees out there,” James guffawed as Peter grumbled under his breath and went to sit on his own bed, pulling a magazine out from under his pillow and hiding behind it. James moved back to his own bed as well, putting his earphones in and turning on some music. Remus waited for Sirius to move his feet so he could get up as well, but he didn’t.
He turned to look at Sirius, but Sirius had put his hands behind his head and closed his eyes. Remus put his hand gently on Sirius’s leg, getting ready to move them out of the way, when Sirius’s eyes snapped open and stared straight into Remus’s. Remus froze again.

Pov from james or the girls where they see sirius and remus having “moments” like them kissing (thinking nobody is watching) or cuddling at the sofa in the common room (cause they only do pda in private or just in front of friends)
Wow! What a disappointing piece of work to randomly re-appear back with after a year of not posting, huh? Anyway. Suprise? I’m writing again I guess??
James was often quipped by his friends for not being very observant. He accepted the joke readily, because in many regards it was true.
When Peter got a haircut, it took him over a week to notice. When Frank and Alice Longbottom finally started dating, he seemed to be a week behind everybody else on that piece of information. When Sirius had decided to prank him by switching the framed photos on his bedside tables to ones of himself, he had admitted to the prank in a fit of frustration five days later, because James just hadn't realised.
James accepted that his observational skills lacked competency, but one thing he had always prided himself on was that, on the rainy afternoon in seventh year when Sirius and Remus sat him and Peter down for an important chat, he already knew exactly what they were going to say to him.
Because despite his lack of observational skills, he had always noticed the way Sirius and Remus were so beautifully gentle with each other. The way Sirius always knew what to say to Remus, always knew when to give him space, always knew when he wanted a hug and when he wanted nobody to touch him. Even when they were just young children, James had always loved to observe the way Sirius and Remus were with each other.
For example Remus had always been incredibly patient with Sirius, incredibly good at listening, and wonderful at knowing what Sirius needed to hear to calm him down. Not that James would admit it, but often Remus was better at this than him.
And then there was the way they looked at each other. James noticed the shift at the beginning of fifth year, despite Sirius' later claim that he hadn't even realised it himself at that point.
He noticed Remus' looks first. The way that Remus' face would split into a smile whenever Sirius suggested something absurd or laughable or, occasionally, wildly intelligent. It was a look he only gave when it was Sirius speaking, and that's when James knew.
Based on his observations, James would attain that Sirius began to figure it out not long after, still in their first term of fifth year. Remus had, in Sirius' defence, grown a lot over the summer and he'd got a new haircut, as well as a new green jumper that Sirius complimented him on a lot. Sirius watched Remus everywhere he went with a soft look on his face, and James watched Sirius with a small smile on his.
When Sirius ran away from home that Christmas, that was why James knew it was Remus he needed, no matter how much Sirius insisted he didn't want anybody there. There was a fleeting moment where James worried that maybe he shouldn't have invited Remus against Sirius' wishes. But that evening he'd poked his head around the door to see how Sirius was. And Sirius was wearing Remus' green jumper, his head on Remus' chest and arms locked around him. He looked almost peaceful, which was remarkable given everything he had just gone through.
James didn't know exactly when their friendship officially turned into something more. What he did know, however, is that by the time it got to the summer between their sixth and seventh year, it had already happened. James had received an owl from Remus confirming which days he'd be spending with James and Sirius, and the look on Sirius' face when he did finally arrive was one that James, contrary to popular belief, was observant enough to recognise.
And so, when they told him and Peter at the beginning of seventh year, James knew. Of course, he never said it. They wouldn't have believed him for a start, but also he wanted them to believe they'd been successful in keeping it hidden, that it had been something that was just theirs.
He was, however, admittedly curious to see how they acted around each other after they had finally told him. And to the outward observer, there was no noticeable change in behaviour.
But James noticed the way they always sat a little bit closer than they needed to, and how they'd brush their fingers against each other when sat in lessons or in the great hall. And there was the way in which Sirius hugged Remus. Never for long, not whilst in public, but he hugged him differently. But then he sort of always had.
In private, when just in the company of friends, the shift was perhaps a bit more noticeable. Like how after the full moon, whilst they sat exhausted in the shrieking shack in the hours between sunrise and Madam Pomfrey arriving, Sirius would always hold Remus gently, saying hushed things to him that James couldn't quite pick up on. Or how he'd press gentle kisses to Remus' head, brushing his hair out of his face. Because Remus hated things getting stuck to his skin or his face when he was trying to calm down, and Sirius knew that.
Perhaps one of his favourite things he noticed was that they'd switched seats in transfiguration. Sirius and Remus had always sat together in that lesson at the back of the classroom, James and Peter on the table next to them. At some point, they'd swapped around, and James didn't immediately figure out why. But then he realised that, the way they were now sat, they could hold hands under the desk whilst still doing their work, as Sirius wrote with his left hand and Remus with his right.
So maybe James wasn't generally observant, but he knew what it looked like when his best friends were truly, simply, happy. Like how the hardest he had ever seen Sirius smile was when Remus had kissed him at a party at the end of the year, not caring who saw. Or how the hardest he had ever heard Remus laugh was at some dumb joke that James couldn't even remember because it had not been that funny, but it had been a joke Sirius had told.
"Did you ever mind that me and Remus were together?" Sirius asked. It was their penultimate evening at the castle. The air was warm, and the sun was setting, and James was sat alone with Sirius at the top of the astronomy tower, his heart a little heavy with the knowledge of everything that was about to happen now that their time at Hogwarts was over.
"Did I ever mind that you and Remus were together?" he asked, just to double check, because he couldn't quite believe the question.
"Yeah."
"No!" James assured him. "Why would I?"
"I just... I feel like Peter gets a little bit sad sometimes when it's just me and Remus doing things together. I wondered if you ever felt left out too."
"Sirius," James said, turning to face him properly. "When I first met you on the train at eleven years old, I was so worried about you. You told me about your family, and I thought to myself, he needs saving, I have to save him."
"Gag," Sirius muttered. More to lighten the mood because, ever the observer, James didn't miss the tears in his eyes.
"And then after your sorting I was even more determined to make sure that if home isn't where you were happy, Hogwarts would be. And so to answer your question, the moment you told me about you and Remus, I was relieved."
"Relieved?"
"Yeah. Because I knew at that point you'd properly been saved. Bit of a bugger that Remus was your knight in shining armour and not me, but whatever."
Sirius chuckled. "You saved me too, you know. In more ways than I can individually thank you for but especially when you took me in.
"Yes, well, I stand by the fact that inviting Remus over that night was the right thing to do."
Sirius gave a small smile. "Maybe. I think that was when I properly realised I liked him as more of a friend, you know. Or at least when I admitted it to myself."
"Yeah," James laughed. "I know that." Sirius just raised an eyebrow at him. "I notice more than you give me credit for, you know."
"Didn't notice the engagement ring though."
James' jaw dropped and Sirius immediately began laughing at him, full belly laughs. James almost pushed him off the astronomy tower. "Don't joke about stuff like that you dickhead!"
"Why? Were you excited?" Sirius grinned.
"Yeah! I've always wanted to be a best man!"
"Yeah, well, I think you'll have to wait a bit for that to happen. There's a war happening out there."
James groaned. "Oh theres always something going on out there.” He paused. “ Do you think you ever would get married?"
"Who is getting married?" James and Sirius whipped their heads around to see Remus.
“Nobody!” James and Sirius answered, perhaps a little suspiciously in sync.
Remus obviously chose to ignore it as he just grinned and flopped down next to Sirius. “You okay?” he asked, gently. “You seemed a bit upset earlier.”
Sirius smiled before giving him a soft kiss. “I’m good.” He then dropped his head to rest on Remus’ shoulder, giving James a look when he noticed him staring. “What?” he asked.
James smiled and shook his head. “I was so happy when you two told me you were together,” he said to Sirius, “and I’ve never once changed my mind on that.”
“Okay what did I miss here?” Remus asked.
“Oh just the usual sentimental sap we’ve been spewing for the last week,” James assured him. “Seriously though. If there has to be a war, I’m glad you two have each other for it.”
Remus gripped Sirius a little bit tighter. “Me too. And I’m glad we have you, as well. And Lily and Pete. We’ll all have each other.”
James looked back at Sirius who was staring at him, a little teary eyed again. Sirius didn’t say anything, and so James did. “Okay, that’s enough trying not to cry for me. I’ll leave you two too it. Goodnight!”
Remus smiled at him as he stood, making his way back towards the staircase. He gave a quick look back to Sirius and Remus before he descended it. Remus had Sirius’ face between his hands and was gently wiping the tears away, laughing at something Sirius was saying.
James hoped, really properly hoped, that the war they were about to charge into would never put an end to him getting to watch Sirius and Remus and the way they simply were with each other.

Dating with Remus Lupin and adopting Harry after war, would include
Pairing: Remus Lupin x fem! reader
Warnings: mention of death, fluff, little angst, my English ( is not my native language, sorry)
this is the biggest thing I've written
Tumblr media
you may have been younger than him (by a year or two)
You would know exactly who the Marauders are
But they weren't your idols
They were too noisy
You like to spend time in the library
And on one of these evenings you ran into Remus
You know that he is one of the Marauders
And you were surprised that he was so calm and quiet
You didn't imagine him like this
He would be reading a book
But he definitely paid attention to you
next time you will see it also in the library
You start a dialog
And you're fascinated by him
And his manners
Yes, baby, you like him
You continue to communicate with him in the library
It happens every tonight
Until one day James comes to the library
He literally came running
"Remus, who is this charming young women? Is it you're girlfriend? Why you don't speak for me? "
A lots of questions
"Shut up, James!"
James would have teased Remus
But these are not malicious jokes
You will get acquainted with all the Marauders
You are very dear to Remus
That's why he's so worried and doesn't want to lose your friendship
James and Sirius give him advice about you
"You should confess your feelings to her! "
"She's my friend! "
Most likely, you will be the first to tell about your love to him
He's so happy
You become a couple
And now you are together
Lots of kisses
Hugs
A lots of hugs
Hold hands
you like his hair
They're so soft
Have you noticed that once a month he leaves
The Marauders don't tell you Why
You have a lot of guesses
But you're not sure
Eventually, ask him
He would have confirmed your guesses
He thinks you're going to break his heart
That you don't want to be together with him
Because he's a werewolf
But this is not the case
And you tell him
"Hey, I still love you!"
He's so happy about it
Calls you: "darling" and "honey"
He loves you so much
best friends with Lily
friends with James
And with Sirius
And with Peter
And with Mary and Marlene
You were so happy when you found out that Lily was pregnant
Help James and Lily with Harry
you and remus live together
Comfort Remus when James and Lily are killed
You don't believe Sirius killed them
to be together with Remus, no matter what
All the time
lots of hugs
And kisses on the nose
And light kisses on the lips
It's been a difficult time for the him and you
But you're still together
Many sleepless nights
When you and Remus cry
And you comfort each other
you and Remus adopting Harry
Remus sees him as James
He cries of this moments
And you're trying to calm him down
Tell Harry what wonderful people his parents were
you in no hurry to get married
But in the end you would have married Remus
The best family
Remus is teaching Harry magic.
He's such a good teacher.
That's when he thinks about becoming a teacher at Hogwarts.
But he does not consider it necessary.
Harry is still very young boy
As he gets older, you and Remus start thinking seriously about your second child.
Harry knew that you weren't his real parents.
But he considers you his family.
You cry when he calls you "mom"at the age of five.
And Remus - "Dad".
Later it becomes a habit, and he always calls you and Remus that.
"Mom, I want to play Quidditch on this broom!".
Remus is crying because James also loved Quidditch.
he looks so much like him
and Lily, too
cry together with Remus remembering the memories
until Harry wakes up
and he won't ask why you're crying
"Oh, honey, we're crying because we love you so much! "
And so Harry is eight when you find out that you are pregnant.
Remus doesn't leave your side for a second.
Come Harry's room one evening
He's crying
"Oh, my God! Honey, what's wrong?"
"Will you really not need me now?"
You were shocked by this question.
"Harry, we love you very much, of course we need you!"
you told Remus about it.
would have done anything with Remus for him
So that he would never think about it again.
Because Remus and you is very very very love Harry
You and Remus had a baby boy.
Harry and Remus were so happy.
Remus wanted a son.
And Harry's brother.
You were happy too, because, oh, my God, you have a son!
Send Harry to Hogwarts for the first time.
you knew that Harry would be in Gryffindor.
like his father James
and his mother Lily
And you would have cried
Because your boy has grown up
Your son and Remus also saw Harry off
It's so touching.

“What if he doesn’t like me like that?”, Sirius whined, worrying his bottom lip with his teeth.
You gave him a look, voice flat. “Sirius, he sucked you off.”
Sirius ignored you and kept rambling.
“What if it was just a thing between mates? Like a peace offering, because he fucked you and felt bad so he sucked me off?”
You groaned and fell back on your matress, bored of Sirius’ constant worrying.
Sirius was convinced that Remus didn’t actually want to fuck him and just did it so he could fuck you again. And you were sick of it. Everybody could see that Remus was mental about Sirius. You needed to put an end to this madness and hook your boyfriend up with his best mate. The thought made you laugh slightly and you turned on your belly, looking at Sirius with a calm expression.
“Do you trust me love?”
“‘Course I trust you!”
“Then I want you to calm down and not worry your pretty head, okay? I got it from here.”
Sirius leaned forward to pull you on his chest, grey eyes looking into yours questioningly, “You really don’t mind me being with Moony? I won’t do it if it makes you uncomfortable.” His tone was earnest, saying everything with complete honesty.
“Sirius, darling, I want you to do whatever makes you happy, okay? I love you. Besides I fucked him first, so you’re getting sloppy seconds.”
“Fuck you!”, his giggled between the soft pecks you kept pressing on his lips, “I love you too..”
---
“Remmy, wait up!”, you jogged in his direction, grabbing his shoulder from behind.
“Hey, what’s up?”
“Uh, we need to talk. It’s about Sirius..”
He shot you an alarmed look. “What happend? Is he hurt? Did some-”
“Calm down, he’s fine! Can we talk in your room?”
“Okay, yeah, let’s go..”
Shutting the door behind you, both of you sat down and you looked at Remus, amusement glinting in your eyes.
“Sooo...You fancy my boyfriend, right?”
Remus chocked on his spit, cheeks blushing as he looked at his hands.
“Why did you have to say boyfriend, now I sound like a complete prat..”
You giggled taking his hand in yours, resting them on your lap. You gave a qentle squeeze, willing him to look at you. His gaze was open and vulnerable, begging you not to judge him. Your eyes softend as you understood just how much he liked Sirius, but was scared about ruining your friendship.
“Remus, I’m gonna tell you what I told Sirius this morning. I see how much you like each other and I want you to be happy. I’m not mad and I’m not jealous.”
“Look, I’m really sorry, I never wanted to get between you, but he’s just so..so..”
“Beautiful, brilliant, kind, hot...”, your said, tone light.
“Yeah, he’s just so Sirius..you know? I don’t know how it happend. Merlin I’m sitting here gushing about your boyfriend..”, he let out, voice tight. “I’m sorry.”
“I swear on my dead hamsters grave..”, he let out a shocked laugh, making you giggle as you kept promising, “..that I want this for the both of you as well.”
He was grinning now, the confident Remus that you knew finally making his way back to the surface.
“You promise?”
“Yes! I promise.”
He let out a breath, shoulders slumping with relief. “Thank you darling, you don’t know how much this means to me. Is there anything, and I mean anything, that I can do for you?”
“Please just fuck him good, he’s been talking about your cock for days now. Do you know how pissed he was that he fell asleep before he could touch you?”
“Oh is he now? Don’t worry, I’ll fuck him good.”
You smiled devilishly, “You promise?”
“Fuck, yes I promise”, Remus chuckled.
---
Remus acted as if nothing happend and wouldn’t react to Sirius’ nervous glances. Secretly he was enjoying his squirming, pleased that he had such an effect on his crush. Sirius was trying to get Remus’ attention, by being extra loud and annoying. He was mocking his brother Regulus more than usually, levitating food with James’ help to annoy Lily, kissing you with garlic breath to make you laugh or flirted with Professor McGonagall. You had warned Remus about this, said that Sirius would do absolutely anything to get a rise out of him, so he would be able to find out if Remus fancied him or not. You kept your mouth shut firmly, telling Sirius that it’s a matter between mates, you had to hold back your laughter so hard, and that you wouldn’t mingle in their business.
So here he was, making a fool of himself to get his Moonys reaction. Anything for his Moony, right?
Remus knew that Sirius was shameless and an absolute brat at times, which is why he chose to sit still and enjoy his food, not once looking into Sirius’ pretty, desperate eyes.
“James”, you started, glancing furtively at Sirius, “me and the girls want to organize a surprise party for Professor McGonagall and we need your help as headboy. It’ll take a few hours, but you’ll help right?” Lily was looking up as well now and James immediately sat upright in his seat, clearing his throat. “For Minnie? ‘Course I’ll help!” Everybody knew that he wanted to because it was headboy duties, which meant headgirl duties as well, which meant Lily and that meant alone-time with Lily. You gave a satisfied smile as Remus looked at you from under his lashes, a smirk playing on his lips.
“Remus, I want you and Sirius to buy the things I gave you a list about, okay? Take your time, I know it’s a lot.”
“Sure thing, we got it. Right Padfoot?”
Sirius perked up as well, nodding his head so fast, you feared he’ll get a concussion. Finally, Remus had paid him attention.
“Yes! Yes, Moony and I will buy only the best for our Minnie!”
You grinned and gave him a kiss, as Remus looked down again, smirking in amusement.
“Great!”
---
“Moony, come on, you never take this long. We need to get going, the list isn’t getting any shorter.”, Sirius moaned.
The hall was empty now, only the two boys left, because Remus was taking his sweet time eating everything on the table.
“Sirius”, Remus drawled, looking at the boy from under his lashes, “we don’t have to buy anything..”
Sirius tilted his head to the side, confused. “What? But you said it yourself!”
“Your girlfriend said that you wanted me to fuck you?” Remus was leaning back in his chair now, legs spread dominantly taking up space, sweater rolled up his forearms, exposing muscular and scarred skin. His gaze was intense, pinning Sirius, a slight, mocking smile on his lips.
Sirius gaped at him, rendered speechless for the first time in his life.
“If I had know that you are so desperate to have me, I would have touched you ages ago. Fucked you senseless, while you had to keep your pretty mouth shut, so no one would hear. Made you cum, over and over again. Made you suck me off like a good puppy.”
Remus kept eye-contact, relishing in the way he made Sirius blush. Sirius, actually blushed!
“Moony...” His voice was raspy, a needy whine in his tone.
Remus stood up and Sirius couldn‘t take his eyes off of him. If Remus would tell him to strip right here in the great hall, he would. But Remus isn‘t that evil. Least no yet.
„I have a gift for you in our dorm, c‘mon puppy“, Sirius melted at the pet name and took Remus‘ outstretched hand.
„Is that gift your cock?“, Sirius crooned, playing with Remus’ fingers.
Remus snorted, „M’gonna let you be a brat. Fuck it out of you later.“
Sirius blushed, again!
Remus pushed open the door and gestured to Sirius‘ bed, telling him to open his present. It was an early birthday gift, something he could only give him in private without it being suspicious.
Sirius went over and took a look at the simple black box, opening it. Inside was a thin, elegant gold chain with a small round pendant. His intitials engraved in the front, in beautiful cursive handwriting. S.O.B.
Sirius‘ breath hitched as he took the collar out, turning around to glance at Remus who was watching him, small smile on his lips.
„Moony“, Sirius said, voice barley above a whisper, „this is the most beautiful gift I‘ve ever recieved.“
Remus‘ smile got wider at that comment and he took the collar, putting it around Sirius‘ delicate neck.
Remus leaned down, lips brushing against his ear as he spoke, voice deep and thick with arousal, „I‘m the only one who can take it off. It‘s charmed. And everytime I touch the pendant on the backside, the initials change to my name, when you touch it they turn back into yours.“ To prove it, he flipped the pendant over to place his thumb on the back, and Sirius watched as the initials changed into R.J.L.
Sirius was speechless, looking at his pendant in the mirror. He swirled around, hooking his arms around Remus‘ neck, pushing himself up on his toes to kiss the boy. Remus chuckled, „I take it you like your gift?“
„Like?! I fucking love it, Merlin, Moony...“, he gasped, „Please touch it again, want your name on me.“
Remus groaned as he touched the pendant again, digging his hands under Sirius‘ thighs and lifting him against the mirror.
Remus pulled back slightly to take Sirius‘ hair out of its bun and tangled his hand in the soft, black hair. Sirius groand impatiently as Remus slowly lowered him on the bed.
„Fuck, Moony please, just touch me already.“
„Patience, puppy..“, Remus trailed of, „You‘ve waited for so long, surely you can wait a few more minutes.“
Sirius whined pressing his hips up against Remus‘, but Remus gripped them tight and pressed him down, giving him a strict glare.
„Sirius...“, his tone hard, „don‘t be greedy now, puppy. You want to cum, don‘t you? Want me to touch you?“
„M‘sorry, I‘ll be good promise, just wanna see you Moony..“, Sirius said softly, a longing expression on his face. Fuck, he had waited so long for this.
Remus softend, leaning down to kiss his neck, breathing in Sirius‘ scent. He took the smaller boys wrists and pressed his lips there, nipping at the thin skin, leaving small bruises. Sirius sat up slightly, taking his shirt off as Remus lightly scratched his nails on his sides.
„Mmm, puppy look at you. Your skin is so pure I just wanna ruin it...“, Remus growled against his stomach, teeth brusing the skin.
„Fuck, Remus, more!“
Remus took in a sharp breath, eyes lifting to look at Sirius needily.
„Say that again. Say my name again.“
Sirius grinned, tugging Remus up by his hair and moaned against his lips. „Remus, Remus, Remus...“, his voice cut off, when Remus whined and kissed him hard. No longer was their pace slow and passionate, but hard and rushes.
„Sirius, if we do this now, I won‘t be able to hold back..“, Remus gasped against Sirius mouth, „so if you, fuck, if you want to stop, say it now!“
Remus felt the familiar push of his wolf in his body and pulled back, hands fisting the bedsheet next to Sirius head.
„Remus...“
Thats all Sirius needed to say before, Remus lost control, ripping his pants of, speading his legs.
„Look at your pretty cock, baby, so desperate for me, hm? You filthy puppy...“
Sirius writhed on the bed, careful to not move his hips. Remus noticed and gave him a cocky smirk.
„Learning are you. Good boy, you are Moonys good boy, aren‘t you?“
„Yes, Remus, m‘your good boy.“
Sirius shivered and bucked his hips up, Remus’ voice making him whine loudly. He was impossibly hard, cock steadily leaking precum over his flat stomach. He was so deeply engrossed in his pleasure, that he didn’t see Remus bending over his cock again. Remus blew hot air over the tip, making Sirius let out a strangled yell. Remus kept pressing him down and pressed soft kisses all over his cock, softly suckling at the cherry red tip.
"Remus, plea-", he interrupted his own words with a cry, because Remus had suddenly taken him all the way down to his base, sucking and pushing his tongue to the vein on the underside.
Sirius couldn‘t talk, the only thing escaping his lips were breathy whimpers and he spread his legs wider. Remus licked at his heavy balls and Sirius sobbed with pleasure.
"Yesyesyes, Moony, Remus, please!" Sirius was tembling so hard, Remus had to adjust his position, and sucked harder, swallowing his cock. The wet heat of Remus mouth made Sirius want to cum so bad.
„Gonna cum, ah please ah fu-", Remus lifted his face slightly, mouth full of cock and fucking winked at Sirius. That did it for the smaller boy and he came, shouting Remus‘ name, his nails leaving little crescents on Remus’ shoulders. Remus' mouth continued licking his cock lewdly, eyes on Sirius, before finally realising him with a pop.
Sirius looked so fucked out and Remus admired him for a moment, watching the golden necklace glint in the dim light.
Remus leaned up, murmuring against his boyfriends lips. „So beautiful when you cum, Pads. My beautiful boy, hm?“
Sirius smiled blissfully, looking at Remus through hooded eyes and repeated, „Your boy?“
Remus grinned at him, all sharp teeth and red cheeks, „Your collar says so, sweetheart.“
Sirius giggled, kissing Remus.
“On you knees, Sirius.”
Sirius instantly got on his knees, back arching gracefully and Remus spread his legs further.
“Look at your pretty hole, baby, So pink and tight. Tell me what you want.”
Sirius pushed his ass back, pleadingly. “Remus please, I want you to fuck me. Wanna feel your cock, please.” Merlin, Remus was talking absolute filth.
Remus groaned, biting at the skin on Sirius’ ass and inner thighs, leaving teeth marks all over his skin. Spreading his ass he spit on his tight hole, middle finger gently rubbing against the taunt muscle and pushing inside. Remus had to squeeze his cock in his fist, holding himself back from cumming, but god, Sirius was beautiful like this.
„Look at your greedy hole, baby, taking me in so well. Why are you crying, s‘not enough? Want something bigger?“
Sirius, pushed back greedly, „Want your cock, Rem, please..“
Remus added two more fingers, stretching Sirius‘ hole as he kissed his inner thighs softly. „My good little baby, hm? Hungry for my cock, Pads? Don‘t worry I‘ll give you my cock, nice and deep. M‘gonna fill you up with my cum..“
Sirius was in heaven, ready to cum from Remus‘ voice alone, fuck he could cum all day from listening to his lover.
Remus took his fingers out, stretching his palm towards Sirius. „Spit, baby.“
Sirius spit in his palm and Remus used it to lubricate his cock, before he slowly pushed into Sirius‘ tight, hot hole.
Sirius moaned, a high pitched sound, and had to anchor himself to the bad so he wouldn‘t fall on his face. Remus wasn‘t gentle, he‘d waited plenty already and kept thrusting, nails raking down Sirius back to leave his marks. Seeing Sirius covered with his bites and scratched made him even hornier and he fucked him harder, throwing his head back as he growled.
„Rem- ah fuck Rem, m‘gonna cum, ah again!“
„Yeah?“, Remus choked out breathlessly, „I don‘t think so. Hold it, slut.“
Sirius cried out, fisting the sheets tighter in his hands, his hole clenching and Remus whimpered out a „Sirius fuck!“
Reaching down Remus wrapped his hand around Sirius‘ silky hair, pulling him up against his chest and fucked him with everything he had. He was fucking and moaning and scratching all over his body, his hand on Sirius‘ cock.
„Sirius, m‘close fuck cum for me baby, go ahead, there we go..“
Sirius came with a shout, his cum all over Remus‘ hand and Remus thrust up one last time, before he came inside of Sirius.
Sirius couldn‘t talk let alone breathe and he fell back against Remus‘ chest, boneless and dizzy.
„M‘so full, Moony so full...“, he whimpered.
„Shh, I know puppy, you did so well. Moonys good little boy, hm?“
Sirius tilted his head back and Remus smeared his lips against flushed cheeks, continuously praising his boyfriend.
„Wanna try something, baby, get on you knees for me again.“
Sirius obeyed without hesitation and gasped when he felt something cold press against his hole. A plug.
„You darling little girlfriend let me borrow her plug..“, Remus said, smirking at Sirius‘ needy expression, „told me to use it on you.“
Sirius let out a moan when the toy was completely pushed inside and gave Remus a dirty smile.
„Remind me to fuck her good later, she deserves it.“
Remus grinned and kissed the bites along Sirius spine, making out softly, before they finally fell asleep, utterly fucked out.

If you're still taking requests, could you do one where someone is making Remus really uncomfortable and someone from the team helps him out? (Preferably Sirius, Leo, Logan, James, or Dumo but everything you do is so good so it really doen't matter 😂❣)
Yep! Please take a look at the TW below before reading, since there are parts of this that are a bit intense. SW credit goes to @lumosinlove!
Combined with protective Sirius and Leo/ Loops friendship!
TW for a super creepy guy, unwanted handholding, unwanted flirting/ not taking no for an answer, innuendo, moderate panic attack, and alcohol
The folding chair next to Remus creaked as a tall man in a perfectly-tailored suit sat down hard in it. He was clearly a drink or two past tipsy, and something in Remus’ throat itched at the way the man’s eyes flickered across his chest and arms. “You’re Lupin, right? The new Lion?”
Remus set his drink down. “That’s me.”
“Stan Martin, nice to meet you.” Stan held his hand out and Remus shook it; his palm was clammy, and he held on just a second too long. Remus was the first to pull away after he felt a light squeeze from wrinkled fingers.
“Pleasure’s mine,” Remus said with a polite smile. Sirius was nowhere in sight, and everyone else was occupied in their own conversations. He swallowed hard. “Do you own a team?”
“Nah, I just fund ‘em,” Stan snorted. “Too much work otherwise, not enough time for play, if you know what I mean.”
Remus forced a laugh. “Right, yeah, totally. Are you involved with the Lions? I’m a bit new to the whole administration thing.”
“Even after being a PT for so long?” Stand gave him an incredulous look, but beneath it there was a shadow Remus didn’t like.
“Yep. I was pretty contained to my tape pallets and charts.” Joke it off, Lupin.
A hand, heavy from alcohol and lack of inhibitions, fell on Remus’ forearm with a few clumsy pats before settling on his wrist. Stan looked directly into his eyes. “If you ever need someone to, ah, show you the ropes, give me a call.”
Remus cleared his throat and tried to pull his arm away, but the hand didn’t budge. “I don’t think that will be necessary, but thank you for the offer.”
“No, really. The NHL is a complicated world. I’d be more than happy to take some of that weight off your shoulders.” Stan leaned closer and Remus tensed as his eyes roved his face. “Your freckles are much more striking in real life, Lupin.”
“Please let go of my arm, Mr. Martin.”
“Call me Stan.”
“Let go of me, Martin.”
An awful little grin spread over his thin lips. “You’re a spitfire, aren’t you? Too much for Captain Solitude, I bet.”
He jerked his head to the side of the room, where Remus saw Sirius making polite conversation with a woman in a long dress. A spike of fury bubbled up. “Are you talking about my fiancé?”
“Easy, tiger, I’m just saying—” He hiccupped and Remus tried to pull away, but Stan’s grip tightened by a fraction. “—I’m just saying, you could do better with someone who knows how to handle you.”
“I can handle myself just fine. If you don’t stop talking shit about my fiancé, I’ll—”
“What? You’ll do what?” Stan leered at him and Remus paused to shove down his nausea. “You know, you were much prettier before you tried to be like the rest of these jocks.”
“I’m leaving now.”
“I’m just being honest,” Stan huffed, never releasing Remus’ arm from his hold. Remus could feel his shoulders starting to shake. “You’ve got those cute little cheekbones. Very delicate, like—almost feminine. Those training regimens they put you on ruined it, in my opinion. Look, Lupin, when you get tired of tall, dark, and boring over there, gimme a call and you can be pretty aga—”
“What’s going on over here?” a falsely bright voice cut in. The chair on Remus’ other side clicked at its joints as Leo sat down, looking between them with icy eyes. “Am I missing out on all the fun?”
“Hey, Knutty,” Remus managed, wincing as his voice cracked. Stan leaned back in his chair and Remus quickly yanked his arm away, tangling his fingers together.
“Lupin and I were just having a chat,” Stan said, glancing back down at Remus’ lap until he tucked his hands under his thighs. “Nothing big and important.”
Leo’s knee pressed against his own. “Sirius was looking for you a minute ago.”
Stan’s jaw tightened. “What, we can’t finish our conversation?”
“No.” Remus channeled all his roiling discomfort and the urge to knock the creep’s teeth in as he stood up. “No, this conversation has been done for a while. Have a nice night, Mr. Martin.”
Leo’s arm was steady across his shoulders as they walked away; Remus’ vision tunneled, sparkling black at the sides. “Are you gonna be alright?” Leo asked under his breath, his accent soothing. Remus nodded. “You’re shaking, Re.”
“No, I’m not.” He grabbed a plastic cup of water off a nearby tray and nearly sloshed it all over himself. “Jesus fucking—”
“Re.” He could feel his teeth starting to chatter and sweat rolled down the too-tight collar of his shirt. Leo’s hand closed loosely around his own and took the cup. “C’mon.”
“Sirius was looking for me,” he protested as Leo led him down a side hall.
Leo shrugged. “Probably.”
“…he didn’t talk to you.”
“Nope.”
“You came to get me anyway.”
“Yep.”
The clog in Remus’ chest grew and he nearly tripped over his own feet. “Thanks, Knutty.”
A sharp puff of air cooled his burning face. “I’m sorry I didn’t get there sooner.”
“I tried to leave.” The words tangled around his tongue as Leo pushed open the bathroom door and led him to the sinks, dampening some paper towels. “I—fuck, Leo, I’m stronger than him but he was holding my arm so tight and I was so fucking freaked.”
“Easy, Re.” Leo sounded like he was trying to calm a spooked horse.
The towels were a balm in Remus’ hands and on his face as he pressed them over his mouth to muffle the wheezing noises. “I’d rather be called a slur to my face than have that happen again.”
The gentle circles on his back stopped for a second. “Do you want to talk about it?”
He shook his head. “I don’t—no. I just wanna go home.”
“Deep breaths.” Leo handed him a new towel to blow his nose, then pulled his phone out.
“Has anyone told you that you’re a kickass friend?”
A weak smile pulled at the corners of his mouth, but his face was still troubled. “Once or twice.”
Remus’ lungs were tight with a mix of fear and disgust; he felt a little like he wanted to throw up, and while Leo’s hand on his back was an anchor to the world, the rest of him screamed ‘don’t touch me’.
Barely two minutes later, the bathroom door swung open. “Honey? What happened?”
“Holy shit,” Remus managed as gray eyes swam into his field of view. Sirius. Sirius meant safety. Reality zoomed back at double speed and the dam broke—tears poured down his cheeks as his whole body began to shake again. “Holy shit.”
Sirius shushed him softly, pulling him close with a kiss to the top of his head. “D’accord, mon loup, je t’ai.”
“I love you,” Remus sobbed. The fabric of Sirius’ suit was probably wrinkling under his tight grip, but he couldn’t bring himself to care. “I love you so much for exactly who you are, okay? Don’t ever doubt that.”
“I know.” Confusion edged his voice, but he kept it low and gentle. Remus loved him for it, wildly. The door creaked as Leo left, and then there was silence.
He finally pulled his face out of Sirius’ chest, kissing his jaw, cheek, and lips before resting his forehead in the curve of his neck. “Thank you.”
Sirius’ hands eased through the curls above his ears as he cupped Remus’ face in his hands. “What happened, Re?”
Remus shook his head as revulsion rose again. “There was this creep and he wouldn’t let me go. Said some shitty stuff.”
“He was homophobic?” An angry furrow appeared between Sirius’ brows.
“I wish.” Stan’s words rang in his ears and made his mouth bitter with shame. Remus closed his eyes. He didn’t want to see Sirius’ face during his confession. “He, uh—he propositioned me. Kind of.”
“He what?”
“I didn’t catch on until he already had my arm.” Remus sniffled, pressing the heel of his hand below his eye to stem the tears. “He followed it up with some bullshit about you, and then some bullshit about me, and just wouldn’t shut up. I just froze. I’m sorry.”
“You have nothing to be sorry for, mon amour.” Sirius’ touch was so gentle on him, warm and broad compared to the crushing discomfort of Stan Martin. His hands were heavy, but they let Remus move however he liked.
“I love you,” Remus said again.
“I love you, too. Are you ready to go home?”
“I need a minute.” He rubbed his face against the soft lapels of Sirius’ jacket, desperate for comfort around the guilt wedged in his chest; his next words spilled out before he could choke them down again. “You still like me, right?”
“I love you so much—”
“That’s not what I’m talking about. You—am I still nice to look at? Now that I’m not, y’know, pretty and kinda twink-y.” There was a long stretch of silence. “Is that a yes?”
“Sorry, I had to take a second and stop myself from putting that fucking idiot through a table.” Sirius took a step back and met Remus’ eyes, fixing him with a hard look. “First of all, I love everything about you, and you will always be the most beautiful man on earth. Second, your muscles are the hottest goddamn thing I’ve ever seen. Third, you’ve never been—what word did you use?”
“Twink-y. It’s like…delicate. Femme. Etcetera, etcetera.”
More anger sparked in Sirius’ eyes. “Yeah, and you’ve never been delicate. You are the strongest person I know, Re. Whatever he said to you, it wasn’t true.”
“Can we go home now?”
“Absolutely.”
The ballroom was still crowded with high-end management and people Remus never wanted to see again when they finally left the bathroom; thankfully, the throngs of sparkles and dark suits made it easy for them to slip away with minimal human interaction. Stan Martin was over by the water cups, dabbing uselessly at a large wine stain across the front of his crisp white shirt—Remus saw Leo watching him like a hawk with a suspiciously empty wineglass in his hand and internally vowed to give him the biggest hug of his life at the next practice.
Remus slowed down to take in the fresh nighttime air, holding Sirius’ hand tight in his own as they crossed the parking lot. He paused at the passenger door and tugged him in for a slow kiss. “I love you,” he mumbled, breathing in the scent of his shampoo and cologne.
Sirius’ arms wrapped around him and Remus melted into the hug. He felt him trembling slightly, and he was pretty sure it wasn’t from the chilly breeze. “You are the best part of my life, Re,” he whispered, his voice thick. “The best part, no matter what. I’m so sorry for what happened tonight.”
“It wasn’t your fault.”
“It wasn’t yours, either.” Sirius kissed the top of his forehead once before giving him a squeeze and going to the other side of the car. “I’m sure Hattie will agree with me once we’re home.”
Two hours, one hot shower, and thirty minutes of puppy cuddles later, Remus curled up against Sirius’ ribs and felt his chest rise and fall under his palm. “I love you,” he said quietly.
Sirius let out a slow breath and entwined their fingers, kissing the inside of his wrist. “Love you more.”
“Love you most.”
“Impossible.”
He could hear Sirius’ smile, even in the darkness of their bedroom, and fell asleep to the steady sound of his heartbeat.

A/N: I really enyoided writing this! This is Remus’ pov. Flasbacks are in italics ;)
Word count: 1.5k
Tumblr media
Remus Lupin was good at many things. He was a good listener, he was good with words, he was good at making people laugh, he was good at keeping secrets, and he was excellent in most of his classes. Something Remus Lupin was absolutely not good at, was controlling his feelings around Y/n Y/l/n.
After a couple years of sharing most of their classes, they stopped being acquaintances to become friends, and really good friends they were. It didn’t take long for Y/n to figure out his biggest secret.
Fifth year
Remus was walking back from the Shrieking Shack to the Gryffindor common room with his friends behind him, tonight’s full moon hadn’t been so rough, maybe tonight he’d just have to take a Sleeping Draught and call it a night. Entering the common room he caught a glimpse of a female silhouette sitting in one of the armchairs by the fireplace. He squinted his eyes to brush the blurriness clouding them, and his heart started beating rapidly while fear washed over him when he realised who the person was. Maybe she didn’t see them, maybe they could just pass past her to the boys dormitories...
“Remus?” He saw how her head turned, dark bags under her bright eyes, –too bright, he noticed– it was clear she hadn’t slept. Looking down he saw used glasses, well, at least she got herself hydrated during the night... Shaking his head a little to clear his mind he let his eyes go to her face again, a soft –and beautiful– smile on her face. “Can we talk?” She said before casting a glance at his three friends. “Alone?”
Looking at his left –where Peter was– and then at his right –where James and Sirius were– he noticed the concerning looks in their eyes, silently asking if it was okay to let him here. Smiling softly at them he nodded, and tried to push down the lump forming in his throat, but when he caught James’ eyes he realised that he had seen past it, but he only smiled and patted him in the back. Only when they were out of sight did he approached her, sitting down on the arm chair opposite of hers.
“Hey Y/n, er, what did you wanted to talk about?” He asked scratching the back of his head and not quite meeting her eyes. “I bet you know what I want to talk about.” She said softly. Remus thought it was to calm him down, and he appreciated the effort, but it wasn’t working. Looking up he saw a book on her lap, focusing on the blurring numbers of the page she was in he read ‘394’, and looking at the title he read what he already knew what this was about: ‘Werewolves’.
He sighed and lowered his gaze once more. “Look Y/n, I get it if you are disgusted by me, and if you don’t want to talk to me ever again, but please, please don’t tell anyone, I promise you Dumbledore and McGonagall know and every full moon I go to a safe place so I’m not a risk to anyone and–“
“Remus, I love you, but shut the fuck up,” she said sharply, which made him look up just to see that her eyes weren’t bright anymore, they were flaming with anger, and if Remus hadn’t been so scared of her reaction he would have been really turned on. “Don’t say things like that about yourself! Of course I’m not disgusted by you! And it offends me that you think something like this could make me get away from you,” she finished angrily, but then her expression softened –although not completely– and she reached across from her to take his hand in hers. “You’re still my friend Rem, you’re stuck with me, and after you go to sleep, take this,” she said taking a chocolate bar from her forgotten bag on the floor. “Good night, Moony.” She said as she got up and went in the direction of her room.
After that night it became a tradition, their friendship grew and with that, Remus’ crush. They would hang out in the Gryffindor common room by the fireplace sharing bars of chocolate and talking about everything and anything. Even on the full moon nights –against his endless protests– she would be there waiting for him with that bright smile of hers. Every time she laughed or touched his arm he would find himself blushing, his stomach turning and his hands a little sweaty.
After one of their ‘Chocolate Nights’ –as she called it– he made his way to his dorm room, only to fall face first into his mattress and groan. “Alright mate?” He heard James ask, what made him groan again, louder. “No I’m not, I’m in love with my best friend,” his words came out muffled by his pillow but he was to frustrated to care. “I thought we were your best friends?” And Remus could hear the smirk that was on his face and he felt like he hadn’t groaned so much in his entire life. “Fine,” James sighed. “Look, this is our final year, if you don’t risk it now you don’t know what would happen, maybe she’ll start dating someone else.” He finished. Remus considered this, they had chemistry, they just got each other. He was in Gryffindor, he was brave. He could ask her out.
Tumblr media
On their next Chocolate Night –“With capitals, Remus! It’s an important event!,” she had said– Remus waited for her in the Gryffindor common room , breathing in and out, in and out, in and–
“Hey there Moon-Moon!” She said brightly as he grimaced. “Please don’t call me that again.” He pleaded, but a smile was fighting his way on his face. She sat next to him and took the first chocolate bar out of her bag, a silent permission for their night to begin.
Tumblr media
Looking at his watch, he noticed that the hour of ‘The Final Chocolate’ –“Remember, with capitals”– was coming to an end. Well it was now or never.
“Look, Y/n, maybe we could go to Hogsmeade tomorrow?” He braced himself for the inevitable ‘Oh Remus, I know I said I wasn’t disgusted by you, but in reality I only keep you around because I feel sorry for you’ but it never came, the only response he got was an “Yeah, sure.” And he knew he shouldn’t get upset for the short response but maybe he should be a little more clear. “I mean as a- a date, you, and me, a date, in Hogsmeade.” And now he knew he messed up, he shouldn’t have said anything else, because now–
“Oh,” she said wide eyed. “Yeah, I’d like that.” She breathed and blushed prettily and Remus had to process her words in his head a thousand times because no, she did not reject him, she in fact, said yes.
“Alright, neat!” Neat? “I’ll pick you up after your last afternoon class, alright? No! Wait, you have to change. Not that you don’t look great in the uniform, just change if you want. But maybe it would be better if we meet outside of the castle?” He said getting up from the couch clumsily and bumping with the coffee table, she let out a chuckle at nodded at him as he was making his way to the boy’s dorm room. “I-I’ll see you tomorrow Y/n! Good night!” Remus slept with a smile that night.
Tumblr media
Remus Lupin was a fucking lame Gryffindor, he thought. The girl he had wanted since he was in fourth year was next to him walking to their date and he. couldn’t. talk.
He noticed a couple times that she would look up at him and then quickly look away. Taking a deep breath he reached with his hand for hers and felt how she interlocked their fingers, looking down he saw a soft smile grazing her lips.
Entering The Three Broomsticks they sat on a table at one corner, next to a window. After ordering their drinks silence filled their space again. And Remus wanted to die. Maybe this was a bad idea, he would make it awkward if he didn’t say anything–
“So, what do you guys have planned for your next prank?”
And so they talked and talked, and laughed and smiled at each other like there was no one else around them. It was still a bit awkward being on a date, because now the both of them knew they were on the same page. Only when the sky became darker they got out and started waking back, but Remus with a new confidence in him tugged her arm and dragged her to a dark corridor and looked at her in the eyes, silently asking por permission. With a little nod he closed the gap between them and kissed her sweetly. “We should have a second date.” She said after they pulled apart. “We should definitely have a second date.”

We Eventually Faded
Pairing : Remus Lupin x Reader
Summary : Sexuality was never the matter in your relationship, but it started to become a problem when Remus had something else to pursue.
Warning : Cheating.
Words count : 1,5k+
A/N : I just randomly started writing and it lead to this. What is with me and writing sad stories.

Remus never appreciated how warm you were until he was gone away for the first time and he couldn't buried face into the soft hollow of your neck.
You are the limelight, the light in his otherwise dreary day, and he'll never be able how to articulate how thankful he was for you.
Especially during moments like this.
It was the school’s winter break, with Sirius still crashing the Potter’s resident and Peter doing his own things ━ Remus decided to spend the holidays with you.
But ever since he had arrived, he had acted hostile towards you.
Not muttering a sentence unless it was necessarily, skipping meals and you barely seen him around the manor.
Though this had already been going on even before the school break.
The day he came out as bisexual to the group and came forward about the two of you having a relationship, everyone was absolutely thrilled.
You were the most proudest person besides Remus, that he was finally starting to feel comfortable in his own skin and was truly being himself.
But that happy moment didn’t go without a cost.
You accidentally found him and Sirius in the library, being much more friendlier than they usually were.
At first you didn't question it, because they were already friends before the two of you were a couple but it wasn’t until the day you saw them kissing each other at their usual spot in the library when you couldn’t stand to turn another blind eye.
Since then, your school day were usually content with studying, avoiding each other in the morning until night came then the screaming and fighting come in, but in the end the two of you would always make up and ended up sleeping on Remus’ bed before you go back to same routine again.
So when the time Remus asked if he could stay with you for the holidays, you were staggered with his request.
Not only you both had not been seeing each other for the past few days, the rumours of him and Sirius cheating and having a secret relationship behind your back, hurt you, it wasn’t because the minor gossip ━ it was because you knew that it’s true.
Staying in your room and in opposite wing during his stay was the best idea you had, giving that your parents were off visiting the family for the holidays.
Your bedroom was dark despite the early hour, but you didn't complain when he came in; exhausted and in desperate need for comfort.
He couldn't tell you the exact reason why his day had turned out so shitty, yet you turned off the TV and put down the remote all the same.
Early that morning, you saw him in the yard.
He was trying to plant your roses but he got frustrated, he toss the shovel across the garden, he then continued to shoved the flowers off the table and with rage ━ he stomped on it, leaving the roses flat on the ground.
You were watching from the window, but you didn’t bother to check on him, knowing he doesn’t want you to help to fix his own mess.
Now, as he listened to the gentle sound of your breathing, he could feel the stress rolling more and more his shoulders in waves.
This isn't what he needed; a night in with questions, platitudes, anger or rage.
You were definitely concerned and confused, he was so agitated, you haven't seen this way since ever.
The last time he was so nervous was coming out to his friends and it doesn't even compared to how he was acting now.
You could feel his nervousness and as you tried to calm him down ━ placing a hand onto his shoulder, he pushes it away before letting out a big sigh.
"I think we should cut ties here."
It was the first thing Remus told you after entering your room for the first time after two weeks of staying there, and the first thing he had said in a long time where you knew he really meant it.
Over the pass few weeks, you knew his love, his care and all of his affection, even his touch didn’t felt or even belong to you, like it used to.
It was longing someone else.
You saw this coming, you really did.
From a thousand miles away, it was inevitable but it still hurt though nonetheless.
Even with the two of you not being your best lately, you wanted to ask him what made him do it. What started this whole mess in the first the place. If you had something to do with him falling out of love with you and in with Sirius.
You wanted to know what wasn't cutting it anymore.
Was it the late night letters which in neither of you were all that conscious about, or was it the act of being alright to the rest of the world when the both of you knew that you weren't really happy anymore; maybe it was the apologising, convincing yourselves how the both of you truly love each other, only to fight the next day and come back with a heavy heart?
Was it the non-stop dating rumours, or the fact that he couldn't tell the world that he was longing someone else without it sounding heartless, but you think it was a little too late for that.
You felt as if, the day he started to feel comfortable with himself, was the day you started dejecting yourself.
Maybe you were the reason that he resulted to move on when you were paying less attention to him as he started to get from someone else.
In your head, you had begged Remus to stay and he said yes.
In your head, you replayed all the memories of the two of you for him to see, all of the happy moments and the heart wrenching ones as well.
In your head, you had fixed everything.
Everything was fine.
The silence on your end stretched on for years and years until you found it in yourself to muster up the courage to reply.
"Alright."
"If that's what's best, then let's end things here."
You didn't let him show any tears falling down in your side of the end. Neither do you let him hear any signs of pain or hurt in your voice.
In that exact moment, to you the Remus Lupin you knew, is gone.
Slipped away through your fingers and you don't even know the person who was standing right in-front of you.
"Okay then. I'd be leaving in that case. I’ll pack my things and I’ll get a train to James’ place.”
James' place.
You knew why he was heading there, and yet you didn’t question him.
He walked out of the door, and when he did, tears slipped through your eyes. You quickly wiped it away and took in a big breath before letting it all out.
The clock in your room was ticking loudly. Minutes went by before you heard your front door close.
When your front door closes, you knew Remus’ heart did too.
As you sat on your bed, thinking about what had just happened. You couldn't remember the boy you completely fallen in love with.
The boy you fell your head over heels for.
Then your mind quickly wandered around in your head. You thought to yourself, if your relationship with Remus was based completely on this mysterious hunger of having somebody by your side; in your bed.
Was he really your soulmate, as you thought in the beginning when you would pull an all-nighter, pretending to study even if you knew it was only an excuse to see him? Or maybe only your bodies were meant to be together. Nothing more less or so.
You still can't figure out the answer.
You and Remus were friends ever since the year he noticed you having a struggle with one of the bowtruckle during Cares of Magical Creatures. And you cared for him, yes, and you have never felt the way you felt with him with anyone else.
His sexuality never mattered when the two of you secretly started your relationship and then he came out to you that night too.
Remus was your fresh breath, he made you feel alive, wanted and wanting.
Thinking back about the relationship, you both knew it was a risk.
A risk of friendship. A risk of loving. A risk of aching. A risk of being in a real committed relationship.
Everything was at risk; at stake when you're with Remus.
And in the end, it was a risk that was not worth taking.
As you collapse down onto your bed, letting your back make contact with your sheets ━ you were left there wondering that exact question.
Risking everything to be with Remus.
So why did you took it?

Wolfstar x Showing Affection (feat. oblivious James)
Sirius is very tactile.
He shows affection through hugging—hugs, hand-holding, playing with people's hair, just random mindless touching throughout the day.
Remus is more verbally affecionate.
He will constantly gives compliments—"i love your dress," "your hair looks great today," etc.
Unless he really likes someone.
Then he just
Stop talking.
Okay, back to Sirius.
Sirius seems like the 'heartless bad boy,' but he's a real softie when it comes to his friends.
He is constantly showing them affection.
Ruffling James' hair (much to James' chagrin).
Flinging himself dramatically over Remus' lap in the common room.
Putting his arms around his friends while they're walking down the corridors.
Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), he flirts much the same way.
Nobody would ever know this, of course, because he doesn't actually first with anyone.
Except for Remus.
"But what about all those girls who fall at his feet?"
He's naturally charming, okay? Give him a break.
Anyway, his flirting felt a lot like his friendship.
Sirius figured out he was gay at the end of third year or beginning of fourth, and realized he liked Remus a little later.
But you would never know it.
Sirius was constantly flirting with Remus.
But nobody knew.
Remus realized he liked Sirius a little later, maybe middle to end of fourth year.
Sirius gets really anxious when Remus stops talking to him.
"What did I do?"
"Is he okay?"
"Does he hate me?"
"Why?"
Pining, blah blah blah. Minor angst, blah blah blah.
They get together—yay!
They decide they don't want to tell anyone just yet, not even their closest friends.
And nobody can tell.
They're openly flirting.
Nobody knows.
Sirius will literally walk into the common room and sit in Remus' lap and start playing with his hair, and James will just be like
"Oh, hey Padfoot."
Remus will be showering Sirius with compliments about how pretty his eyes are, how soft his hair is, and Peter just goes
"Oh yeah, Sirius, you have to tell me what shampoo you use."
(It's Fleamont's Sleakeazy Potions—the one James refuses to use, even though Fleamont readily gave both James and Sirius a lifetime supply).
They will literally walk down the halls holding hands
Regulus will give Sirius a knowing smile
(He knows. Obviously).
Lily will give the same smile to Remus.
James and Peter will just think
"Oh that's just something we do know, I guess?"
Remus decides they need to tell them, it's getting painful to watch.
Sirius disagrees, and, because he's Sirius, wonders how long they can keep going before anyone notices.
Okay, so they're not telling anyone just yet.
But they're not holding back, either.
One night, Sirius decides to go to bed, so he gets up and kisses Remus on the forehead.
"Mate, you're gonna kiss Moons but not me? When did he become your best friend?" James whines.
Sirius and Remus look at each other and snicker.
Sirius just tousles James' hair.
"Alright, fine. But I will get a kiss from you before the week is out!"
"Alright, Prongs, whatever you say."
Remus goes red, from embarrassment and from trying to hold his laughter in.
At breakfast, Sirius and James probably do something stupid.
Remus tells Sirius, "you're lucky you're so damn adorable, or I might actually be mad."
James takes offense.
"What, I'm not cute enough for you?"
Remus is admitted to the hospital wing after a particularly bad moon.
Madam Pomfrey lets them stay, mostly because the combined forces of Sirius' desperation and James' annoyingness is enough to make her fear for her life.
Anyway.
Sirius steps out for a minute, because Remus is asleep anyway.
And while he's gone, Remus asks after him.
"S'r'us?"
He's still half asleep, and doesn't know Sirius left.
"S'r'us? Can you..." he trails off, but moves over to the far side of the bed.
Well. Sirius isn't there.
But James is.
He gets the message, and climbs into bed beside Remus.
They've never done this before, but hey, what a sleepy, injured, post-moon Remus wants, he gets.
So James wraps an arm around Remus and pulls him close.
(Honestly, get you a friend like James).
So then Sirius comes back.
And sees his best friend cuddling with his boyfriend.
He clears his throat.
"James, what the fuck?" he asks calmly.
"Oh, he asked for you, but you weren't here. I guess he wanted cuddles or something, so I figured I'd fill in for you. So here we are."
"James," Sirius deadpanned. "That's my boyfriend you're cuddling with."
James sat up so quickly Sirius was honestly impressed Remus didn't wake up.
"Boyfriend?!?"
"Boyfriend," Sirius confirms.
"How long??"
"Few months now."
"Wha– but I– you– what?!?!?!"
It's safe to say James is in shock.
"Why didn't you tell me??" he finally asks.
"Are you honestly blind?" Sirius asks.
"Have you not seen us flirting? Cuddling? Eye-fucking across the room?"
"I thought that was just something you did!!"
James is still in shock.
And totally oblivious.
"It is something we do. Because we're dating. We wake up in the same bed every morning."
"AS BROS DO."
James eventually calms down. Their argument conversation has now woken Remus up.
"James, what are you doing in my bed?"
"We've been over this already," Sirius said.
"By the way, he knows now."
"Oh good. How's he taking it?"
"Not sure," Sirius says. "James?"
"Huh? I mean... yeah. I'm happy for you, obviously. And it's fine that you're gay, or whatever. I don't care about that. But what the fuck??"
Alright then. That's how he's taking it.
James never did get that kiss.

Remus Lupin x Reader-Treat You Better
Requested by my dear friend @xacatalepsyx, I hope you all enjoy this! 💛 // Inspired by Treat You Better by Shawn Mendes(Flashback in italics)
Prompt List Requests / 1.3k Writing Celebration Masterlist / Marauder Era Masterlist / Music Writing Challenge Masterlist
Third Person POV
“Is Y/n/n not coming?” Remus asked as he met up with Lily, Marlene and the marauders.
“Probably not,” Lily said in a somber tone, her eyes glancing over to Marlene, sharing a knowing look, one that Remus quickly picked up on.
“Again?” Remus asked, a mixture of sadness and anger lacing his voice.
“You can’t be surprised, Moony,” Sirius said, placing a comforting hand on his friends shoulder.
“He’s always been a dick, mate, I don’t know why she gave him another chance in the first place,”James added with a sigh.
“Because..it’s Y/n/n...she’s constantly giving people more chances than they deserve, remember Eric?” Marlene said, earning an audible sigh from the people around her as well as a few eye rolls. Eric was one of the worst boyfriends Y/n/n had ever had; he cheated on her countless times, lied to her countless times, controlled and belittled her constantly. The only reason that relationship ended was because Lily, Marlene and the rest of the marauders got involved, it was like staging an intervention. Since then Y/n/n had had a few boyfriends but they all left as quickly as they came, leaving her feeling unlovable.
“I’ll go check on her,” Remus said, bidding his friends goodbye before bolting up the stairs to the Gryffindor common room.
Y/n never had much luck when it came to love, she had a big caring heart, no one could deny that, but she often gave it away to the wrong people. People that didn’t treasure it the way her heart and the love that came with it should’ve been treasured. Many of them would use her for what they wanted, say all the right things...make her fall for them and then drop them when they got what they wanted. Or they’d cheat on her and then come crawling back begging for a second chance which she would give them, despite the warnings she would get from her friends, Y/n/n/ would constantly say the same thing ‘he’s changed, he’s promised he’s going to change,’ of course, these words were not true and within the space of a week she’d be found in her dorm room heartbroken because she’d been let down again. Her best  friends, Lily and Marlene would constantly try to warn her away from guys like this, even the marauders got involved, hating to see her hurt constantly by people that didn't deserve her, but it didn’t hurt anyone as much as it hurt Remus. The light brown haired marauder had liked Y/n/n for years, but he refused to say anything, no matter how many times the other marauders tried to persuade him to. He was the closest to her out of the marauders, they would spend hours talking in the library or in the common room, talking about everything and anything. They were great friends to start with and then Remus’ feelings began to change...he started to fall for her, not that he admitted to anyone (including himself) until one night in the library.
~~~~~~~
It had been a long day; exam stress, boyfriend stress, life stress. Y/n/n was just very stressed out today. So she went to the one place she knew she’d be alone, in the library. It was her safe place. The one place no one would bother her because right now she just wanted to be alone. Just as she turned the corner to go to her secret space, right at the back of the library she noticed a small flickering light. She froze. Until she saw the familiar face of one of her closest friends, Remus John Lupin.
“Y/n/n?” Are you okay?” Remus asked, worry lacing his voice and eyes as he made his way over to Y/n/n.
“Yeah….it’s just been one of those days y’know,” Y/n/n sighed, running her hand through her y/h/c locks. Remus knew what that meant. He knew she was stressed about her exams and he also knew that her boyfriend probably wasn’t helping all that much. He wasn’t as bad as some of the other guys she’d dated but that didn’t mean he was brilliant either….and even though he didn't know what the problem was, Remus knew that that guy had a part to play in her mood tonight.
“Do you want me to go?”Remus asked, he knew her well enough to know that on days like she prefers to be alone, just to figure everything out.
“No..no it’s okay,” Y/n/n said with a small smile on her face. She didn’t want him to go...she didn’t know why but she just didn’t. She felt safe around him, like she could step away from all of the things that had been bothering her that day and just relax with him. He was an amazing friend. Sometimes, she caught herself wondering what would happen if they could be more than just ‘friends’ but Remus was Remus. There was no way he’d ever be interested in her.
“Do you wanna talk about it?” Remus asked, his words snapping Y/n/n out of her little daydream.
“Not really,” Y/n/n answered, shaking her head quickly. The last thing she needed was another ‘I told you so,’ she’d already gotten that from Lily and Marlene.
“What about a distraction? I just started reading this book from the Muggle world; Lily lent it to me..I could...I could read it out loud, if you want?”
“I’d love that Rem,” She said with a small smile on her face as she sat down next to him, her head resting on her folded arms on the table, her arms acting like a pillow. And with that, Remus flicked back a few pages to the beginning of the book, reading it aloud, loud enough for Y/n/n to hear what he was saying clearly, but still quiet enough that no one who walked past the library would hear. He continued to read for about half an hour, getting lost in the words of the book, it wasn’t until he heard a small little snore from Y/n/n that he realised she was asleep. He couldn’t help but look at her, a look of utter adoration in his eyes. She was beautiful. The most beautiful girl he’d ever met....he’d fought so hard to fight the things he was feeling, not wanting to admit to anyone that he loved her, but he did. He loved Y/n Y/l/n. But he knew that she’d never feel like that about him, especially not while she was in a relationship. Still that didn’t stop him from thinking how much better he could treat her. He wanted to treat her like a princess because that’s what she deserved. She deserved to be happy. Love was meant to make you happy, sure there were ups and downs in every relationship, that was a given but there was also meant to be happiness and joy and love...that’s what Remus wanted to give her. He wanted to give her his love and treat her right.
~~~~~~~
Remus ran through the portrait, heading straight for the girls dormitory. His hand hovered over the doorknob trying to work out what he was going to say to Y/n/n...but when he heard her crying, his heart took control and he pushed the door open.
“Remus!” Y/n yelped, her bloodshot eyes piercing into him.
“What’re you doing in here? I could have been changing or asleep! You had no right to just come-”
“I had no right?!” Remus bit back, interrupting her sentence before she even got the chance to finish it. The anger in his voice catching them both off guard. A few moments of silence passed, as Y/n/n tried to work out why Remus was so angry and as Remus tried to calm himself down.
“I’m...I’m sorry..Y/n/n..” he whispered, his eyes focused on the ground.
A few more moments of silence passed before Remus lifted his head up, his gaze now focusing on her “I just...I hate seeing you like this,” as he said those words,he felt the tears begin to brim in his eyes.
“I hate seeing you give your love to people who don’t treasure it...not like I would,” it took him a moment to realise the words he’d just said, had it not been for Y/n/ns wide eyes he would’ve thought that that’s all it was, a thought.
“Not like you would?” Y/n/n whispered, the tone of her voice soft, but still full of confusion begging for an explanation. Instantly Remus’ eyes fixed on the ground, opening and closed his mouth a few times, almost resembling a fish as he tried to find the right words to explain how he was feeling but it was like any and every word he’d ever learnt had just vanished from his mind. He felt himself getting more and more anxious until he looked up to see Y/n/n. The confused look was still on her face but just the mere sight of her brought him comfort. Comfort enough to allow his mind to think of three simple words. Three simple words that would explain everything he felt. Three words that could destroy the friendship that he held so dear...but they were the only three words he could think of.
“I love you,” he breathed. At first Y/n/n thought she’d wondered into one of her old dreams. The amount of times she’d dreamed of hearing those words come from his lips, was countless. She made her way closer towards him, raising her hand to his face, caressing his cheek softly. This all felt too real to be a dream. The touch of her hand on his skin made his heart skip a beat as a pale blush came across his cheeks.
“I love you too, Rem...it’s always been you...no one...no one ever comes close,” Y/n/n whispered, her admission catching Remus completely off guard.
“When-when did you..?” Y/n/n began, her voice trailing off as Remus raised his hand to cover hers.
“Since that night in the library,” he admitted, a shy smile tugging at his lips.
“Why did you never say?” She asked, continuing to trace small circles on his cheek.
“Because you were with someone at the time...it wasn’t the right time..and then no time seemed to be the right time…” He answered honestly, before asking her the same questions she’d just asked him. It took Y/n/n a few moments to reply but when she did a somber look came over her face as she mentally cursed herself for not taking the risk to ask him out.
“I...I always have...but I thought we were just friends...so I just...i just tried to fill the void..” She answered and as Remus looked into her eyes he saw no word of a lie. She was telling the truth. Without another second passing, he connected their lips. The kiss was slow, both of them getting used to one another's lips, but they molded together like they were made for each other, after a while the kiss became more passionate as the pair finally just gave into the feelings they’d harboured for each other for so long. When they did pull away from the kiss, Remus pulled Y/n/n into his embrace, placing a delicate kiss on her forehead before whispering the words “I’m gonna treat you how you should be treated, sweetheart...I’m gonna treat you better than any of them ever did,” and for the first time in probably all of her life, she felt the fairytale love she’d always dreamed of having and the best part is that it was with Remus.

Please write one were Asher has an allergic reaction and Sirius and Remus freak
Um so hi, surprise. I finally wrote something again. This prompt has been sitting in my ask box for god knows how long and I finally wrote it. Sorry it took so long, anon, but I hope you all enjoy. The SW world and it's characters belong to always fantastic @lumosinlove!
If you haven't read the rest of my Asher series, here's the link for tumblr and AO3!
cw: allergic reactions, talk of medicines, IVs, and hospitals
It started as a normal day, as most days tend to do. Remus got up first, doing some yoga in the living room before turning on the coffee maker to run while he was in the shower. He had this routine down pat so of course, he was ready with Sirius’s cup of coffee when the taller man came up behind him, nuzzling into his neck.
“Morning, mon loup.” Sirius mumbled, his voice still rough with sleep as his arms wrapped around Remus’s waist.
A soft smile spread across Remus’s face as he pressed the steaming cup of coffee into his fiancé's hand, “Good morning, Pads. I can get Ash ready for Lily’s if you want a shower before practice.” Remus said quietly, already hearing movement from the toddler’s bedroom.
Sirius answered with a kiss to his shoulder, looking up at him with a grin, “You’re the best, babe,” He said as he pulled away, cheekily slapping Remus’s butt before making his way to their bathroom. Shaking his head fondly, Remus turned to start getting Asher’s breakfast ready, the oatmeal cooking on the stove.
Just as he was about to go check Asher was awake, a small pair of arms wrapped around his legs from the side. Asher rested his head on his Papa’s hip, letting out a loud yawn. Remus couldn’t help the chuckle he let out, their son so much like his daddy, it was ridiculous.
“G’Morning, Papa.” Asher murmured, rubbing his eyes as he tried to wake up.
Remus picked him up, resting the toddler on his hip as he finished up his breakfast, “Good morning, mon chou. Sleep well?” He asked as he put the oatmeal into a bowl, topping it off with some berries before getting him set up at the table.
The little boy hummed happily, sipping his milk as he waited for the hot cereal to cool down, “Yep! I had a dream that Harry and I were wizards and we got to battle a bunch of bad guys and we won of course and it was so cool.”
Remus chuckled, sipping his coffee as he listened to his son’s dramatic retelling of his dream, “Of course, you won. Most powerful wizards ever, obviously.”
Nodding happily, Asher started in on his breakfast as he continued to fill his Papa in on the wizarding world from his dream. He had quite the imagination and it definitely came through his dreams.
When he had finished, Remus helped him wash up and get dressed before Sirius came in with his bag for the Potter’s house. Lily always watched Asher during their practices, letting him and Harry tire themselves out together. They were the best of friends, constantly attached at the hip. When they pulled up to the Potter’s house, Lily and Harry were already waiting on the front porch, the boy already jumping excitedly as he saw their car pull up.
As soon as Asher was released from his booster seat, he was running as fast as his little legs would take him. And Harry, not one to be outdone in the dramatics department, met him halfway and slammed him into a hug.
Lily laughed, coming down off the porch to give the two men a hug, “Sorry, I’m not gonna sprint up to you two,” She said, giving them both a tight squeeze.
“Wow, I see how much our friendship means to you!” Remus teased, his arm wrapped around her shoulders. “Now, where’s that husband of yours? Still doing his hair?”
A loud laugh came from the doorway, James appearing with his bag thrown over his shoulder, “Yeah, you know me. Very much worried about my hair when I’m putting a helmet on.” He said, throwing his bag into their car before giving Lily and Harry a kiss goodbye.
After saying goodbye to their own little munchkin, the three men were off to practice. Today consisted of some dry land training for warm-ups before moving on to some drills. They were about an hour into their drills when Coach Weasley blew the whistle from the sidelines.
“Black! Lupin! You’ve got a call!” He yelled across the ice, his eyebrows furrowed as he held out the phone.
Knowing that calls weren’t allowed during practice unless there was an emergency, the two men were to the bench in seconds, Remus quickly grabbing the phone, “Hello?”
Lily’s frantic voice was on the other side of the phone, already talking, “Remus, I’m sorry, I literally looked away for a second, and then he was screaming. I didn’t even see-”
“Lily, take a deep breath. What’s going on? What happened?” Remus said, trying to keep his voice calm.
A shaky breath came through the speaker before she continued, “I took the boys to the park across the street like I always do, and they were on the playground. It was fine then all of a sudden, Ash let out a really loud scream. I got over there as soon as I could, but he had already hives. Harry said he had a bee on his arm and got stung. I called an ambulance, and we’re at Gryffindor hospital now in the ER. I’m so sorry, I didn’t even know he was allergic.”
Remus was already unlacing his skates, the phone held between his shoulder and ear, “It’s not your fault, Lils. We didn’t know he was allergic either. We’ll be there soon.” Quickly handing the phone back to their coach, Remus and Sirius ran back to the locker room.
In less than 5 minutes, the two men were back in their car, racing towards the hospital. “Fucking bees,” Sirius muttered, quickly pulling into the parking lot.
As soon as they were parked, both of them quickly ran into the ER, their hearts pounding in their chest as they reached the front desk, “W-We’re here for Asher Lupin-Black.” Remus said to the receptionist.
She pointed them down the hall and they were off, seeing Lily waiting in the hallway outside of the room. Lily met them halfway, Harry on her hip sniffling quietly, “The doctor is in with him right now. God, I’m so sorry. I had just gone to grab my phone to take a picture of them, Harry said they were chasing the bee. I didn’t even realize there was one by them.”
Sirius pressed a kiss to the top of her head, “Lily, it’s not your fault. He’s a kid, these things are going to happen. You got him here as soon as you could and got him help, and we’re so so thankful.”
Sniffling softly, Lily wiped at her face, “I was so scared, all I heard was him screaming. The hives spread so quickly.”
The door opened as they stood talking, a doctor coming out of Asher’s room. His eyes widened at the sight of the two hockey players, probably realizing who’s child he had been working on before giving them a small smile, “Hi there, I’m Dr. Johannis. You must be Asher’s dads.”
“Yes, how’s he doing? Is he ok?” Remus asked as he stepped forward, already itching to get into the room and see his son.
Dr. Johannis was nodding before Remus had even finished, “Asher is doing fine. He came in with anaphylaxis from what appears to be a bee sting. Luckily, due to your friend’s quick actions, we were able to get him in the ambulance and give him a shot of epinephrine. He’s doing much better already, the hives have begun to fade. We do have him on oxygen at the moment as a precaution.”
Remus and Sirius both let out a breath as if a weight had been lifted directly off their shoulders. Asher was okay.
“Can we see him?” Sirius asked, his eyes flickering to the closed door behind the doctor.
Smiling, Dr. Johannis nodded, “Yes, of course. My nurse is just in there, double-checking his vitals. We want to keep him for a little bit longer to keep an eye on him but you should be able to take him home tonight.”
After thanking the doctor, Lily urged them on without her, “Go on, he was asking for you both. I’ll text Coach so he can let the team know. I’m sure they’re all worried.” Nodding, the two of them quickly made their way into the room. Asher looked so small on the hospital bed, an oxygen mask covering his nose and mouth as he watched the nurse fiddle with the monitor. He quickly turned to the door as soon as it opened, eyes quickly filling with tears when he saw his dads.
“I’m sorry!” Asher cried, his voice muffled from the mask. Remus and Sirius were next to him in seconds, pulling him as close as they could without tugging any wires or IVs out.
Running a hand gently through his hair, Sirius pressed a kiss to the top of his head, “Oh mon chou, it’s okay. You didn’t know that was going to happen.”
“We’re just glad you’re okay, bub.” Remus said, running his hand gently over the little boy’s back.
Sniffling quietly, Asher rested his head on his Daddy’s side, “We thought it was a bumblebee, and Uncle James said those are fluffy and they don’t sting and they’re nice. But it wasn’t fluffy and it was not nice.” He huffed, wiping at his face.
Sirius couldn’t help but chuckle, pulling Asher closer, “Well now you know which ones to stay away from, right?” He asked, feeling the toddler nod before he let out a loud yawn.
“Sorry to interrupt but I just wanted to give you a heads-up. The medicine we gave him through the IV might make him sleepy,” The nurse said from next to them, as he headed to the door. “Let us know if you need anything.”
Remus nodded, pulling the blanket over Asher’s legs as the little boy began to doze off, “Of course, thank you so much.”
Then it was just the three of them, the only noises coming from the monitor and Ash’s soft snores.
“Well. That was fucking scary.” Remus whispered, leaning over to rest his head on his fiancé's shoulder.
Sirius snorted, his head falling onto Remus’s, “Yeah, that’s an understatement. Thought my heart was gonna fall out of my ass when Coach said we had a call.” Remus nodded in agreement, remembering the moment he heard Lily on the other side of the line.
“The team is gonna spoil the shit out of him. Like he isn’t going to have to walk anywhere for months,” Sirius continued, his hand moving to run through Asher’s soft curls.
Rolling his eyes, Remus glanced over at Sirius, “You act as though they don’t already spoil the shit out of him. Leo carried him on his back all around New York last month. Nado sneaks him treats constantly. And if Dumo brings him one more toy, we’re going to have to move to a bigger house.”
Sirius couldn’t help the large smile that spread on his face because Remus wasn’t wrong. Asher was spoiled. The team loved him, and he loved them all right back. They were so lucky to have such a supportive chosen family, and Sirius didn’t really believe in God but shit, he was grateful to whatever deity gave him this life. He had a loving fiancé, a fantastic son, and the best damn family a man could ever ask for. There was nothing better.
And when their entire house was filled with hundreds of “Get Well Soon” balloons and an entire hockey team when they got home that night, all of the worry was entirely worth it to see their little boy’s face light up the room.

Chapter 27: OWLs
━━━━━━━━━༻☽༺━━━━━━━━━
The last month was spent with lessons being devoted to review as the OWLs drew near. McGonagall had given them their examination schedules and went over the procedure for the following weeks during their Transfiguration lessons. She’d gone over the rules; mentioned the ban of Auto-Answer Quills, Remembralls, Self-Correcting Ink and others of the same likes.
Nobody spoke a word to each other. Everyone was rushing to do any sort of last-minute studying. Emmeline kept quizzing James with cue cards but was interrupted as Marlene became too agitated, threatening to throw a shoe, politely, at the couple.
Nobody spoke a word to each other. Everyone was rushing to do any sort of last-minute studying. Emmeline kept quizzing James with cue cards but was interrupted as Marlene became too agitated, threatening to throw a shoe, politely, at the couple.
Their first exam, Theory of Charms, was scheduled bright and early for Monday morning and they were all forced to study into the late hours of the night. There was a manic gleam in Lily’s eyes as she re-read sections of her textbook, Remus flicked through The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 5; Sirius and Mary were surprisingly calm as they practiced locomotion charms, Peter was so nervous that he kept dropping his wand. Dorcas had to be given Draught of Peace while Y/N was left practicing incantations under her breath, charming nearly every object in sight for practice. After all, Charms never was her strong suit.
“Fuck it,” Marlene announced, standing up to grab a bottle from their secret stash of Firewhiskey.
“You sure you want to drink that now?”
“I’m not getting pissed, it’s one drink.” Before Marlene had the chance, Remus grabbed the bottle from her hands and took a swig. “That’s against the rules, McKinnon, and you’re underage.”
“Remus John fucking Lupin! Stop abusing your prefect powers!”
But she and Sirius, of course, had their ways of coping with the stress.
“Do you — mmm — think it will be that hard?” Y/N said in between kisses. Sirius was the one to approach her.
Y/N had been doubtful about their situation, considering Sirius was flirting with other girls but they weren’t together. She knew that — she had no claim and besides, she trusted Sirius enough to not lie and deceive her had he been with anyone else.
Sirius’s hands flew down to unbutton her blouse and shrugged off his shirt. “Dunno. I’spouse I’ll get all Exceeds Expectations or Outstandings anyway. Don’t need — ah — to worry.”
Y/N tilted her head away from Sirius who pouted and quickly pressed another kiss. “Maybe you’re the arrogant toe-rag.”
“You’re too mean to me,” sighed Sirius, wearing a bemused smirk. “Watch your mouth. D’you know how many women — nicer women — want my attention but you get it?”
Inwardly, Y/N felt her heart soar. He’d just eased her speculations. “Me? Watch it?”
“Don’t act like you don’t like it.”
“Fine,” Y/N then peeled herself off of him, buttoning her clothes neatly. Her lips twitched up in a knowing smirk. “Be like that then.” And then she walked out the door, leaving Sirius to whine and chase after her.
“Wait — I didn’t mean that — wait! L/N! Come back, please?”
She was growing really fond of Sirius. Even hearing his name made her heart flutter.
When Y/N finally went to bed, she remembered about the career consultation she had with McGonagall and her persistence in helping her become a Healer. It left her wide awake.
That morning was deathly quiet as Professor McGonagall stood in front of them in the Great Hall as desks were lined in neat rows. Her eyes scanned every student before her hand went to grab the large hourglass sitting on the desk beside her along with any spare quills, parchment, ink bottles.
“You may begin.” McGonagall turned over the hourglass and Y/N heard the flipping of papers. Her heart thumped in her chest as she took one last glance up and then lowered her eyes on the paper and began to read…

Maybe it was the combination of the sun beating down on their backs or the tension from the recent surge of Death Eater attacks or stress levels rising from OWLs and future NEWTs, but everyone was on edge that day.
Y/N was hiding in her little nook under the tapestry, watching the sun reflect on the water, glistening and calm before she rolled over, deciding to slip out. Yes, while it may be for her safety, being stuck with a partner to go everywhere was annoying and began to grind on her teeth. There was never a moment to be alone anymore, especially not with the stalking map.
They'd just completed their Defense Against the Dark Arts exam. So far, Y/N thought Potions was by far the easiest examination, aside from Herbology. She wasn’t looking forward to Transfigurations…
But as she roamed the halls, fanning herself with her review notes and debating if she should go find Regulus, a few students ran in the opposite direction. Their faces were filled with curiosity and surprise. Some giggled, others gossiped and a few gave Y/N questioning looks.
In fact, so many students were following the rest. A student, most likely a third year, came running past Y/N before she stopped them. “Excuse me, is there something going on today?”
“Oh!” A look of recognition crossed the student. “You’re Lupin’s girlfriend, right?”
“Sure... Why?” “Something’s going on by the lake with the Marauders.”
Y/N navigated her way through the crowd and out to the courtyard. Under a beech tree near the edge of the Black Lake where she and Regulus had spent their day trying to swim, stood a group of students. All wore different coloured robes, huddling together in a large circle. Distantly, she could hear a faint buzzing and caughten a glimpse of gold. A golden Snitch.
She pushed her way through the students. Amid the circle, there was a flash of familiar dark red hair and Lily’s voice. “You make me SICK.”
Lily stepped out of the circle and the only thing Y/N heard was James’ bombing voice shouting after her. “Hey, EVANS!”
Angry tears threatened to spill down as Lily ran away. From the corner of her eye, she watched as Emmeline stormed out quietly, but unlike Lily, tears were freely streaming down. Y/N could hardly see over the bodies and faces of the crowd as they pushed and bumped into each other.
She was about to chase after Lily until the bright flashing of lights caught her attention. A gasp went around and there in the air was Snape, hanging upside down with only gray underpants waist down. Pink soup buds were all over his face and mouth and Sirius could be heard saying something.
“Who wants to see me take off Snivelly’s pants?” James taunts, talking to the crowd. A large gash was on his cheek, blood cascading down and droplets sprayed on his robes. A loud round of cheers went round.
Remus finally stepped in hesitantly, whispering into James’ ear as his hand clutched his forearm, lowering his wand. Whatever he must’ve said to James finally kicked in as Snape thudded to the ground. She caught Sirius’gaze who went to open his mouth but it was too late as she turned around.
They hadn’t listened to her. They went looking for revenge.
There will be another time to be cross. Her priority was to find Lily.
She ran through the corridors and passed by an elf going to start preparing for dinner before stopping them. She had an idea.
“Please, is there any way you can get Jelly slugs in the next couple of minutes and bring them to Gryffindor's common room?” The elf gave a curt nod.
Y/N bolted up to her dorm and there, a bag filled with Jelly slugs was left on a nearby table as she snatched it. She knocked a few times on the door, hearing Lily’s sniffling. “Can I come in?” There was a faint yes.
As she opened the door and closed it, Lily didn’t face her, but instead let out a bitter, “Are you going to say ‘I told you so?’ ” Y/N cautioned. This was already the most either had spoken to each other in a month.
“Do you want me to?”
Lily let out a weak laugh. Y/N rounded on her, coming to sit on the edge of her bed. It stayed quiet until Lily spoke again.
“I’d known that our... friendship was falling apart. But I thought — I thought maybe… he would change? I thought… he cared about me.” Lily finally broke as tears came cascading down her face.
Her heart ached at the scene and opened her arms wide to let Lily hug her. Her head fell into the crook of Y/N’s neck as she wept and she was there to hold her until she stopped crying. In a muffled voice and through thick tears, Lily explained what had happened and Y/N swelled with ferocity.
“I’m sorry…” She muffled into her.
Y/N’s lips pulled into a tight, uncomfortable smile. She only wished Lily didn’t have to go through that to realize Snape wasn’t good. “I’m sorry too.”
Lily pulled away, still leaning on her as Y/N floated a box of tissues their way.
“I brought you something. It’s silly but…”
She took out the Jelly Slugs. Lily wiped her tears away and took the bag, studying it for a while. Lily gave a half cry, half laugh and went to hug her again. They stayed like that for a while.
Nightfall came and Lily refused to leave the common room, wanting to avoid the Marauders and the other students there at the lake. Marlene and Dorcas stopped by with food for them but kept their distance, knowing that Lily wanted to be alone.
There was a soft knocking on the door, Y/N got up to answer it. Mary was there. She looked tired, but that's all Mary had been looking like these days.
“Mary?” Lily asked, “What is it?”
“It's… Snape. He’s been sitting outside Gryffindor’s portrait for hours now.”
There was a shift in Lily who immediately got up, pushed past them without a word and marched down the stairs; gripping her wand with full force. Both students gulped, knowing not to get in her way.
Mary then turned to her, “Potter asked to speak with you. He’s asking to meet at his dorm.”
And that’s exactly what she did. Y/N stomped up to his dorm. Waves of rage followed off of her as she swung the door open.
“Lupin, Pettigrew, you should leave.” Her voice was void of emotions, empty, like a machine, as she stared down at Sirius and James. From what Lily said and the little she saw, she wasn’t mad at them.
Not only had James and Sirius broken their promise, their cruelty reached a new high, causing the mess that they were all currently in, but Sirius had also broken the little trust she’d given him. Admittedly though, a part of her anger stemmed more from Lily’s behalf.
Snape, by every means, deserved payback. But the way it was handled… James and Sirius might as well be the same as Snape. A prank, a hex, a couple of jinxes were great, but had James gone further like he said…
“What the fuck did I tell you.” At her tone, they both seemed to flinch.
“He deserved it!” Sirius said, standing up.
Y/N ignored him, continuing to stare at James. It only then occurred to him that she wanted an answer. She expected more from him than she did Sirius.
“He called you and Evans a you-know-what. Then physically harmed you and Moony — and then everything else. Why are you angry? He’s a daft —”
“Daft?” Y/N mocked, “I gave you one job —”
Sirius laughed in blatant disbelief, “He’s right!”
“Silencio.” Sirius went mute and she turned back to James. “What were you trying to do?”
He scoffed, “I was trying to get him back. He doesn’t get to treat you like that and not get any sort of repercussion.” James folded his arms. “You seemed fine with the pranks, what’s your problem now?”
“I’m fine with pranks because typically you and your boy-band prank a group for laughs. Even if he deserved it, you already crossed a line by pulling his pants down! Had you pulled off another layer —” “I wasn’t really going to do that!”
“How would I know that?” Then she whipped around to Sirius. “And you! I trusted you not to go do something stupid!”
James looked at them confused. She unmuted him. Sirius was not having it.
“You’re up yourself. Get off your high horse — white knight shit!” “Do you want me to mute you again?”
Y/N sighed, walking to sit on Remus’ bed while both Sirius and James defended their actions. She wanted to throttle them.
“Pureblood snobs,” she said out loud. “You do realize that if anything, you just fueled Snape even more? I don’t doubt that now we all have targets on our backs because of your little stunt.” The idea of what Snape was willing to do now after severing ties from Lily only scared her. She was reminded that yes, Snape was a highly skilled wizard, known for his hexes, fondness of dark magic, lingering with wannabe death eaters…
They both gaped. “We didn’t think of it like that —” “Because you don’t have to think about it! You made it worse!”
It was silent after that, as the implication of what she said sunk in.
“I —” Sirius sputtered.
James sighed, going to sit on Peter’s bed across. “I’ll make it right.” He wore a large white bandage, sliced open from Snape. Man, fuck Snape.
“Fucking idiots,” she breathed out. She tried to ease the anger from her system entirely. Instead of fighting, she left the room wordlessly and went back to her dorm.

June 12th, 1976
They’d just finished their Astronomy examinations which were held at night. The moon light was faint, ready to reach its peak in a few hours.
After Snape’s incident, Lily had given James the brunt of her anger. She gave him detention for the rest of the year with Professor Binns. Sirius had been given a good earful while she left Peter alone. Even Remus got a scolding for not stepping in and using his prefect influence.
Y/N had taken some time away from the Marauders, mostly out of respect for Lily who rightfully was upset about the entire ordeal. But with how the sections of the exam were taken, they were split into different towers; the girls in one tower, Y/N and the Marauders in another. She was forced to walk with them, because of their wonderful agreement: partners.
James was remorseful, along with Sirius who pulled her into a broom closet multiple times to apologize.
James, overall, was fairly beat up. After their squabble, the Snape incident, he and Emmeline had broken up. It had shocked her, confused as to why they broke up until Marlene chimed in; he’d asked Lily on a date during the Snape incident.
If it could get any worse…
Y/N decided to stay by Remus and Peter as they walked back to the common room.
Remus clenched his eyes shut every so often. He appeared to be in pain. His complexion was so pale she swore she could see the veins flowing with blood. It was as if his skin was not quite opaque but stretched thinly just enough to cover him. The muted light from the moon shone on his skin as a vein strained against his neck; waterline rimmed red, lips parted to suck in air like it was a struggle. She would’ve been worried, standing so close to Remus as his chest heaved, had he not looked like he commanded every inch of his body.
Remus was… alluring in the lighting. But his breathing hitched and everyone’s head rotated towards him.
“Are you —” She started.
“I’m fine,” he lashed. His tongue poked out to swipe across his teeth, gazing up to a nearby window. Alway the moon’s most watchful admirer.
The Marauders looked at each other.
“Alright,” Peter chimed, breaking the tension. “Moony’s been feeling down today. I’m going to take him to the hospital wing.”
James nodded, speaking cautiously. “Whiskers, let’s go?”
She shook her head. “I’ll walk back — go with him.” Remus needed their assistance more. There was this gaze in his eyes, golden and gleamed in the low light. It was like he was looking straight past them.
James shook his head. “No, we all stay in groups. It’s safer — for all of us.”
No, it’s safer for me. James and Sirius were fine, it was just her that needed the protection and the very thought made her sick.
They walked with her, stopping at the edge of the hall leading to the common room; both in a rush and Y/N didn’t want to hold them back anymore from Remus. They bid their goodbyes and James walked in front, leaving Sirius behind who gave a small smile and left.
She turned and walked to the portrait and there, sitting on the ground for the fifth time since that day; Snape.
“Get lost,” she snapped. “Lily doesn’t want to talk to you — let alone see you.”
As she was about to step into the portrait, Snape muttered, “Stupid Muggle.”
“Maybe if you washed your fucking hair for once, Lily would’ve returned your feelings. Go fuck yourself.” She hurled, wheeling around. Waves of rage flowed throughout her body as the boy stared at her, flooding with wrath.
The remark was his breaking point as he slipped his wand from his sleeves, his face pulled downwards in a sneer as he walked towards her. Before she could retaliate or register what he was doing, Snape already cast a spell. The look in his eyes told her to be scared.
Y/N flew backwards, thrown against the stone wall behind her as she fell onto the corridor floor. Her head slammed against the wall, hard. The impact was so great that the stone was covered in her blood, some of her hair caught onto the jagged edges. It was dizzying and she couldn’t properly think straight. She went to reach for her wand but saw it rolled a few feet away.
“Filthy Mudblood. I always wondered why a bunch of Purebloods would cling to you. Do they feel pity? Or are the rumours true and you’re their toy?”
Snape had bent down, wand digging sharply into Y/N’s neck. She mustered all the strength she had, yelling, “JAMES!”
“Pathetic,” he spits, “Can’t handle poor ickle Snivellus Snape?”
There was a loud ringing in her ears and her vision seemed to blur. She tried to push Snape away but instead, he pushed her against the wall roughly, her head slamming yet again. She cried out, tears now pouring from the hot white pain that shot right through her skull.
“James! J-James — Sirius…”
She could faintly hear the Fat Lady yell in the background, yelling at Snape to stop but. But he raised his wand, incantations ready to spill from his tongue as a bright red beam shot out from the darkness.
“Stupefy!” Instead of James, Sirius stood tall as he held Snape’s wand.
“Ah, the boyfriend — I mean, the other boyfriend. Well, Black, you need to start keeping her on a leash.”
Y/N was too disorientated to even understand what Snape was saying. Her head bled as she fought the urge to close her eyes. Sirius’ eyes were wide with terror as he stared down at Y/N as he digested Snape’s words.
Strangely, Sirius was quiet as he glared at Snape; chest heaving as if he was holding back.
“I’m surprised, really…” He flashed his menacing sharp teeth. “I thought it was a full moon tonight.” He grinned ear to ear, thrilled that had the upper hand now. All the colour from Sirius’ face drained in a second, completely caught off guard as the greasy-hair boy used this to his advantage. Using wandless magic, Snape pried his wand back from Sirius’ grip and quickly rose to his feet; wand pointed as he rounded him.
Snape continued, “Is that why your mates aren’t here? Helping that mutt of yours? Tell me, is he an experiment? Keepin’ him around for when you get bored.
“I bet you get bored often. What’s it like, having no family to return to?”
She didn't have time to even blink as two bolts of red came spurting out of each wizard's wand. Flashes of light illuminated each boy as sparks crashed together. The sound had Y/N scrambling towards her wand which landed a few meters away. Finally grasping her wand, she points it directly at Snape.
"Expelliarmus!" The last bit of energy she had was released, dropping her wand by her side as Snape's wand flew behind him. Sirius had walked up to him as he delivered a sharp punch to his nose and shoved him against the wall behind.
“Petrificus Totalus!” Sirius shouted. Snape became still, rigid in his hold.
"Why don't you take a trip down to the Whomping Willow tonight." Sirius muttered a counterspell as Snape picked his wand up and ran. “Deactivate the tree.”
As the echo of footsteps hushed, Sirius walks toward Y/N, taking her wand and his before shoving them into his pocket as he proceeds to lift her bridal style from the ground. She could feel the wandless magic he was using to help lift her, to avoid hurting her anymore. Before she could say anything, the pain in her nerves intensified. She felt like she was on fire. Sounds of whines and high moans left her mouth as Sirius began to panic, his feet surging forward as he ran towards the hospital wing.
“Hey, you’re okay,” Sirius whispered, but it was directed more to himself rather than Y/N. She scarcely noticed him squeezing her hand gently. “You’re okay darling.”
Her arms felt heavy and darkness rushed over her like a thick blindfold as the last thing she saw were tears blurring Sirius’ vision, his body shivering in adrenaline.

Lake Dreams
Tumblr media
Sirius Black x reader
Summary: The summer holidays are just around the corner and together with your friends, you spent the day at the lake.
Words: 1.8k
Warnings: some sneaky remarks here and there
A/N: Requested by @msmb! “Could I get a request with Sirius Black where he and the reader are like best best friends and they both like each other as more and everyone can tell but them. They go to the black lake with like Lily and James and Remus and Marlene and Peter and Sirius pushes her in and she drags him with her and they start making out in the lake?”
“It´s the last exam and you´re not even close to failing, sure you want to take the books with you?” You asked Lilly, who was packing as if the library had to fit into her bag, while you laid on the bed watching. Marlene´s head peaked out from the bathroom; “Y/n´s right, leave the books.”
“Oh, she will as soon as James starts flirting again”, you giggled. Only seconds later, you felt the hard book binding hit your head. “Merlin you´re done Evans!”
You jumped off the bed, armed with a thick white pillow, which was heavy enough to throw Lilly to the ground. Soft and angelic feathers started floating through the air and while Marlene joined in the fight, you all overheard the knock on the door.
It wasn´t until James, Sirius, Remus and Peter stood right in the door, when you noticed the four boys staring. Mouth little agape and eyes wide opened, only Sirius had the capacity to smirk.
While Lily and Marlene spent their breathing to calm down and hide any further blushes, you rolled your eyes.
“What are you staring at, Black? Jealous to never experience a pillow fight with any of us?”
His provoking smile didn´t drop though.
“Just tell me when you´re free, Y/N, we can spend as much time in bed as you want.”
You huffed and threw your bag into his arms. “For that comment, you get to carry my bag.”
James took Lilly´s bag without asking or hesitation, and you knew how heavy that thing was. You hadn´t even reached the black lake, when Sirius started complaining. Sighing, you took your bag back.
“Weak”, you mumbled under your breath and finally reached your all favorites spot.
Sirius wanted to argue once again, but Remus patted his shoulder stopping him from doing so.
Each of you took a towel and together you formed a nice circle for the group to gather. Marlene and you had prepared some snacks and Remus and Peter had carried an extra cooling box with refreshing drinks. James, Sirius and Peter didn´t waste any time and immediately made their way into the water.
“Boys”, Marlene shook her head, while she and Lilly shared a sun lotion.
“More like idiots”, you nodded agreeing at them. Remus placed himself in front of the sun and his shadow fell on your body. You lurked up to him, taking a hand to shield yourself from the light.
You had known Remus before even going to school, more so, you considered him family. He always had been in your life and your families often spent the holidays together.
“Still care for a little swim, Fairy?”
You chuckled at his nickname, an old tradition from the two of you.
“Always Moony.”
When you were little and Remus had transformed for the first time, he had been awfully anxious especially of your opinion. But little you, was nothing but jealous. Why did Remus get to be a wizard AND a werewolf? It was then simply decided that you wanted to be a fairy. The nickname lasted.
A little more far off from the three boys, who tried their best to push each other into the water, you swam away from the waterfront.
“How long do you think it´s gonna take until Lilly and James finally admit that they´re made to be with each other?” You asked after a while, Remus laughed softly.
“No idea, but you´re one to ask!”
You gasped surprised, splashing a little water into this face. “What do you mean by that?”
“What about your flirting with Sirius?”
“Flirting? It´s called joking, Moony.” You explained and watched how Remus shrugged.
“If you say so! But I´m sure, he wouldn´t mind, if you weren´t joking.”
You groaned in annoyance. “Yes, Remus, of course he wouldn´t mind. Because he is Sirius Black.”
Your friend chuckled again. “Well, you´re not wrong about that.”
He knew, that there was no way into making you admit something, you didn´t even believe yourself yet.
“What about the tomorrow’s exam, you ready?”
You had turned around, making your way back towards land. “I guess, I´ll re-read Lilly´s remarkable notes before bed again, should be enough. What about you though?”
“Same, I´m much more worried about our two troublemakers.”
You eyed James and Sirius, who had settled back on the towels next to Lilly, Marlene and Peter.
“That bad?”
Remus rose his eyebrow. “Lets put it this way, they won´t get much sleep today, if they don´t want to fail.”
“Somehow, they always manage though, don´t they?"
“Sure, but at what cost?”
You laughed with Remus and shortly after, you had reached the land again. James was making jokes to make Lilly giggle and while Marlene and Peter exchanged slightly annoyed glances, Sirius had watched you and Remus. His jaw was tensed and he knew he shouldn´t feel the jealousy over your friendship, but so often he wished you´d talk to him the same way.
Sure, the two of you liked teasing and joking, but there was this yearning to know more. Know your thoughts and dreams and as much as he tried, he never got close enough. Something always made the two of you act differently around each other…
You felt the cool drops of water running down your skin as you laid down on your towel, the sun shining hot on your back. The mere shadow of your own arms shielding your face, while a soft summer breeze began drying you off. Your group of friends continued talking and laughing, but soon enough you felt yourself drifting off. The past couple of weeks, you had all spent more time in the library than any of you liked. The constant reminder of stressful exam phase had drained a lot of energy, a little break was more than welcomed.
You didn´t know for how long you had fallen asleep, but when you woke up again, the sun had already began settling. You yawned and brushed off sleep from your face.
“Ah Y/n, glad to see you´re finally walking with the living again”, James exclaimed. You scrunched your nose, but a small smile was on your lips as well.
“How long was I out?”
“More than an hour”, Lilly explained, her expression a little more worried. On the other hand, she knew well enough, how her own body ached for a little more sleep.
“By Merlin´s beard, that felt good though!” You admitted and the group erupted in laughter.
You stretched as a second yawn escaped your lips.
“But I think I need a last cool down before heading back, the sun tried to roast me!”
“Good thing I put some sunscreen on your back, while you were peacefully napping!” Marlene grinned. “Oh, you did? I thought that was just a dream.”
Marlene rolled her eyes. “You owe me, I saved you from terrible sunburn!”
“Yes, after I advised you to do so”, Lilly interrupted.
“Well, I had to do it before Sirius would!”
Your brows furrowed in confusion after you scanned the group again. “Where is Sirius anyways?”
Peter pointed with his head towards the small jetty, which laid a little to the side.
“All alone?” You wondered and James shrugged.
“Maybe he tries to remember what tomorrows exam was about?”
You huffed, throwing your towel at the curly head, before leaving the group. Luckily, you were already too far away, when James snickered again.
“Three gallons that it´s gonna happen.”
Peter and Remus leaned in. “Nope, I don´t feel like it´s going to be today”, Peter shook his head. Remus observed, how you approached Sirius. “Maybe.”
 “All alone, Padfoot?”
Sirius flinched barely noticeable, he hadn´t heard you approaching. His feet were dangling in the cooling water, while his eyes had focused on the horizon.
“You must´ve dreamed of me, you slept so peacefully.”
“I dreamed of our holidays and no exams, in case you actually wondered!”
“Don´t remind me of it”, he replied and sighed heavily. You shrugged reluctant.
“It´s only one left, then just a few days and we all can go home and dream of you.”
He stayed serious and you felt a concern raising.
“Are you okay? It´s not just the exam is it?”
Sirius carefully glanced at you, then back at the lake. You knew him well enough to tell when there was more. “No, it´s not.”
His expression was easily read for you and you already guessed, what his worries were about.
“You should just stay at James´s, they´re not even worth it.”
Finally, Sirius looked back at you. “I don´t want to burden them again, I already spent Christmas at James´s.” Shocked by his statement, you gasped.
“Sirius, you are not a burden! Not for James or anyone!” But then your voice became softer again.
“I´m sure you can spend the holidays at my place as well.”
He rose his eyebrow, surprised. “Really?”
“Sure! I just need to persuade my parents, that they won´t become grandparents!”
He chuckled and you noticed his shoulders relaxing as well.
“Just to clarify; we´d make the most beautiful babies”, he added grinning. Playfully, you punched his shoulder. “So, that´s what you´re dreaming of, huh?”
Then you felt Sirius hands grabbing your side and your weight shifting. However, you held onto his arms and as you felt the water embracing your body, you dragged him in as well.
“You should be punished for pushing me into the water!” You exclaimed when the two of you reached the surface again. “I was; you dragged me with!”
“Someone had to drag you out of that dream!”
The two of you started splashing water around, erupting in a hose fight like children would. You were satisfied, knowing it took off his mind and truthfully, yours as well. You didn´t have to act like adults, not knowing enough about that life anyways, and for once, you could simply be yourself.
Sirius was prevailing and you felt as the ground beneath your feet deepened, until you couldn´t stand anymore. Now you had to swim in order to stay above the surface, Sirius grinned in knowing victory. But then he shifted his weight, gliding through the water until reaching you. Of course, he could still stand due to his height difference.
“I can´t let you drown, can I?” He asked whispering and his arms embraced your hips to pull you closer to him. In the setting sun his skin had a golden tint and his beautiful eyes glistened like honey.
It felt like a dream.
You didn´t think about your actions, letting your body react on it´s own. Your hand reaching up around his neck and your legs hugging around his waist. Sirius leaned a little down until his lips finally brushed against yours. Wet from the lake water, but warm and welcoming. As much as his heart was beating in flurry in his chest, you didn´t push him away. Your hands cupped his face to pull him even closer, your lips opening to deepen the kiss. It was like a dream finally coming true.

Ever since I knew what love was, there had only been one person in my heart. Only one person could make me laugh, could make me smile, could make me feel pure ecstasy, but he was just out of reach.
Our friendship blossomed beautifully throughout our years at Hogwarts. Those evenings in the library spent gossiping, chatting, arms thrown around each other, bathing in each other’s presence. Something so special that was ours. Every moment spent with him was one I remembered forever, locked away in the darkest depths of my soul, knowing that it was for my eye’s only.
James Potter and I were close, exceptionally close. He had been my first friend I met at Hogwarts and was certainly not my last. Though I met others, the connection I made with James never faltered. That was the problem. I admired him too much.
It wasn’t my fault when the time we spent with each other changed. It wasn’t my fault when my eyes lingered over his a little longer than I intended to. It wasn’t my fault that my stomach fluttered everytime his fingers brushed over mine. I didn’t intend on falling in love with him, but I did.
Yet, James never looked at me that way. I endured it, year after year, watching him pine after perfect Lily Evans, the most gorgeous, charming girl in our year. James was in love with her, instead of me. Unfortunately, we were still close as anything, which let him confide in me all this time.
Sixth year. Lying across James’ lap, I carefully flicked through the pages of my potions book, unable to complete my homework, but feeling the need to be productive. Feeling the need to be close to James. Moments had passed and we were the only ones left in the common room. My eyes had drifted away from my book and flickered upwards towards his face.
The faint light of the fireplace illuminated his features. His soft hazel eyes shone bright, with flecks of blue and green shining in the light. Shadows cast down on his face, accentuating his features. My hand played gently with his hair unconsciously as I tried desperately hard to concentrate on my work, but I couldn’t. But nothing good can last forever.
“[Y/N]?” James muttered softly, breaking my ever so strong attention from his face. I fluttered my eyelids self consciously, turning back towards my book. “Hm?” I answered, acting calm, even though my heart was beating out of my chest. His voice was soft and gentle, soothing my anxious thoughts.
“Do you think Lily knows how much I love her?” And in that moment, my heart shattered into a million pieces. It was that moment that I knew that my love for James was unrequited. I met his eyes in that moment and I searched them for anything I could find, desperation hoping for something, even if I didn’t quite know what I was looking for.
“H-how much do you love her?” I stumbled over my words, my voice croaking out as I held back the emotion I felt. Something flickered in James’ eyes at that moment, but was swept away by a grin the size of Jupiter creeping up his cheeks.
“More than anything.” He said. Whatever love that was showing in James’ eyes weren’t for me and would never be for me. Lying in James’ lap, I decided that I needed to push down any feelings I felt for him, for the good of my own heart. I couldn’t love James any longer.
So I settled. Remus Lupin was one of James’ friends, naturally making him one of mine. Not long after James and Lily had finally gotten together, I noticed eyes lingering on me, the same way I had looked at James. Well, the same way I still looked at James.
Remus was quaint, soft, and supportive. He was comfortable. He may not have been everything I had ever dreamed of but he truly looked at me as if I was his world, and I loved him. I wasn’t in love with him, like I was with James, but I loved him.
***
Halloween. 1981. Warm air drifted in through the window of my home that I shared with Remus. Nervously, I sipped quietly on my tea, palming through an old edition of the Daily Prophet from a few days ago, toying anxiously with the engagement ring around my finger.
Of course I said yes when Remus got down on one knee; I would’ve been foolish not to. His pleading eyes looking up at me with admiration and affection melted my heart. Before I registered the situation, the words fell out of my mouth. Now, I had a wedding to plan, one with the man I didn’t love.
The dining room table was littered with bits and pieces for our wedding. Cloths and cards picked out specifically, each with the intention of pleasing the eye. In front of me laid the sketch of the dress I was supposed to wear, the one I drew when I was just a little girl, who dreamed of her big day in white. A tear fell down my cheek as I remembered that I could never wear that dress to my own wedding. Lily had fallen in love with the same dress and asked if she could use the design for her own wedding dress. Sheepishly, I agree, immediately regretting. Not only did Lily marry the man I loved but she married him in the dress I loved too.
The memories of James and Lily’s day came flooding back into my head. A bright day in the summer of 1978 was filled with joy as I helped pin Lily’s dress a few hours before she would be walking down the aisle. I had my work cut out as I perfected Lily’s gown, certain on having her look like a princess. Her auburn hair was pulled gently into an elegant bun at the back of her head. Green eyes gleamed with excitement as she thumbed the soft material of the dress cascading down her. I couldn’t help but wonder what I would look like in the dress. I couldn’t help but wonder what I would look like walking down the aisle instead.
“It’s absolutely gorgeous, [Y/N]. I love it more than anything.” Lily gasped as she looked at herself in the mirror. More than anything. The words stung deeply, my hand wiping across my cheek to stop a tear from rolling down. Lily’s face dropped as she saw my solemn state.
“What’s wrong?” Lily crouched down next to me, resting her hand on my back, gently tracing circles to calm me down. Looking back at her, I smiled, not wanting to ruin her day.
“You just look so beautiful.” I lied through my teeth, standing up from my position and heading for the door. “I just need to grab some more pins and I’ll be back.” I muttered while racing out of the room.
Tears were pouring down my face now like a thunderstorm. I tried to compose myself but I couldn’t, running away, far away, the destination unclear in my mind. The next thing I knew, I had bumped into a person, falling into their arms. Unsure of who it was, I stayed in their arms, falling to the ground, about to pass out from exhaustion.
As I looked up, my eyes met the eyes of none other than the groom himself. Concern boiled up in his irises as he looked down at me. Smiling as I felt his fingers stroke the soft skin of my arms reassuring me, he helped me up to a standing position, keeping one arm firm on my waist so I didn’t topple over again.
“Are you going to tell me what’s wrong, love?” The nickname James used hurt more than he could imagine, but I kept smiling, not wanting to ruin his special day.
“She looks so beautiful,” I started, talking about Lily, his future wife. “She looks like a goddess, I just know I’ll never get to look like that.” I tried to laugh to lighten the tension but it only resulted in James pulling me into an inviting hug.
“Don’t say that.” James whispered, his soft voice sending goosebumps down my spine. “One day when you get married, you will too.”
A moment passed as I just stayed in James’ arms, not wanting to let go. The moment was ruined unfortunately when James spoke again. “Remus is one lucky guy.”
My heart dropped, pulling away awkwardly, tucking my arms close to my side. “Haha, yeah, um, Lily is one lucky girl.”
In a flash, my eyes looked up to meet James. His grasp had pulled me close to him once again, my eyes darting from his eyes to his lips repeatedly, his doing the same. I was so close to him; an inch or two closer and we would’ve kissed  “Where’s Lily?” A voice from down the hall snapped up both out of our trance. James immediately pushed me away from his body, looking for the source of the noise. From around the corner, Sirius appeared, all dressed up in his best man tuxedo. I smiled naturally, heading off to look for Lily, the girl who was about to marry the love of my life.
Looking back at that day, I could’ve said something. I could’ve objected to the union, but seeing the look on James’ face when he saw Lily walk down the aisle was priceless. I would’ve been a criminal to rob James of that happiness. So I had stayed silent in the pews. I said nothing.
A few tears had fallen on the table, pulling me back to the present. It was Halloween. By now, all the trick or treaters had dispersed, leaving a quiet hum of the tree breeze alone. Remus would be home soon from a meeting with the Order. Yet, he should’ve been home an hour ago. Anxiety rushed through my veins, until I heard a knock at the door. I relaxed, opening the door.
Instead of seeing my normally happy, calm husband, I saw my husband, puffy eyed, tears brimming in the corners of his eyes. Then, he collapsed on the ground outside the door. Rushing to him, I enveloped him in a gentle hug, letting him sob into my neck.
It had been a few months since I last saw Remus cry like this, which made me on edge. Last time he was in this state, someone had died. Now I was just waiting for the news.
Yet, he kept crying. For at least ten minutes, he sobbed into my shoulder, the warm wind passing us every now and then. After a moment, he pulled away and stood up with no words, leaving me on the ground. I followed him, putting the kettle on.
Remus sat wordless on the couch, playing with the ring on his finger like I had been doing not long before. As I brought him a cup of tea, I sat beside him, waiting for him to start speaking, but he never did. All he did was place his hand on my thigh, tenderly stroking it as he looked blankly into the darkness of our house.
“I’m sorry darling.” He eventually spoke, turning to look me in my eyes for the first time that evening. I reacted to his voice, pulling him in close to me. My arm draped over his shoulders, tugging Remus closer to my side. “James and Lily are dead.”
My face dropped. My heart ached. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t process what Remus was saying. My arm fell from his side as I pulled away from his touch. He called out to me but my head didn’t register his words. Hazily, I stood up, needing to be away from him. Nothing seemed right.
Seemingly in a drunken state, I walked up the staircase and found my way into our joined bed. I was sure that Remus was calling to me but I didn’t respond. I couldn’t respond.
That’s when the tears started falling. Curled up in my bed, I pulled the cover to wipe my eyes, but it was pointless. What was once silent tears was a full on breakdown. My eyes were puffy and crimson, dry as a desert. Throat hoarse from screaming, no proper words could come out my mouth. I was empty.
The man who had stolen my heart, the man whom I loved dearly, was dead. He was the one who spent all those long nights talking to me. He was the one who held my hand when I was too anxious to stand in front of a crowd. He was the one who supported me throughout the strife we went through from the order. He was the one who grounded me when I was distressed. And he was gone.
My bed had never felt colder. My heart had never felt emptier. I was alone. After what felt like hours, the door to my bedroom opened, a small light blinding my eyes. I didn’t move or even speak as Remus slipped under the covers next to me. I was unable to do anything as he whispered that he loved me and kissed me on my forehead.
***
Morning broke and the reality of everything had yet to settle in. I had expected that James and Lily’s death would have plagued my nightmares but the opposite effect had happened. My night was full of dreams of James and I, memories of the time we had spent together coming back to me. Memories that I once thought I had lost.
The spot next to me in bed was empty when I turned around so I knew Remus must’ve been downstairs. Quietly, I slipped out of the duvet and trotted downstairs. I didn’t even say good morning as Remus placed a cup of tea in front of me when I sat at the dining table. My eyes darted away, not wanting to face all our wedding planning. It all just felt wrong.
Remus picked up on my hesitation and sat down next to me, sighing. He wasn’t dumb. He knew that I didn’t love him the way he loved me. He knew that my heart was reserved for someone that wasn’t him. He knew that I was in love with James, and so he said so.
“I know you were in love with him.” Remus broke the uncomfortable silence, grabbing my attention. My lip quivered, my eyes threatened to spill out more tears, but he pressed on. “I knew you will never love me the way you loved James, so please [Y/N], tell me.”
“Tell you what.” I mumbled, not daring to look Remus in the eyes, which rubbed salt further into the wound.
“I won’t press you on, as I know you’re hurting, but please, I have to know.” He paused, looking for the right words to say.
“Do you still want to marry me?”

Numb
(I am once again posting unedited nightmares to Tumblr.)
CW: strong language, violence, character death. The first thing Remus noticed was that the floor was cold. The texture rough against his stubbled cheek, scraping against his forearms as he slowly pushed himself up. He blinked blearily, eyes adjusting to the dim torchlight. Stone floors, stone walls, iron bars.
A cell.
His head was throbbing; there was dried blood in his hair. This time it might have been his own. He recalled bright lights, curses flying, sizzling past his ear. Red. Darkness.
A Stunner.
How did they find me?
He couldn't remember.
If he concentrated, he could hear breathing, other heartbeats. One, two, three... no, four. He scented the air; three male, one female. Human, goblin. Familiar — very familiar, though he was struggling to think beyond the pounding in his skull. He couldn't recall their faces.
Somewhere out of view, a door swung open: hinges creaking, wood groaning, scraping along the floor. A jangle of keys. This scent... (juniper berry and wood shavings and cheap dusty tea) this scent he knew.
rat rat rat
"Oh good, you're not dead," Peter said in a tone that might have sounded cheerful if not for the underlying tension of attempted murder and heart-wrenching betrayal.
"Sorry to disappoint," Remus replied. His voice was rougher than the stone he'd woken on and twice as cold. On the other side of the wall, two heartbeats quickened; a quiet intake of breath.
They know me.
"Ah, don't be like that, Moony. I've brought you supper."
"Think I'd rather starve, thanks."
Peter gave that snorty little laugh that Remus used to privately think was endearing and now just made him want to yank the bastard's brains out through his nostrils.
"Just as dramatic as ever, I see." He showed the plate to Remus. "It's just a bacon sarnie. Light on the butter and practically raw, just the way you like it."
It was the way he liked it, and Remus hated him for it.
"Why am I here?"
"Skipping right over the small talk, eh? That's not like you at all." Peter opened a small grate, pushing the plate through the bars. "Come on, Moony. You know why."
"Don't call me that."
If he hadn't been watching for it, he'd have missed the tiny flicker of hurt across Peter's face. The twitch of his brows, the near imperceptible thinning of his already too-thin lips. The shadows under his eyes darkening.
He looked terrible. He looked sorry. Remus hated him even more.
"Alright, Remus then. Or would you prefer Lupin?"
"I would prefer you didn't call me anything, honestly."
"Too bad," Peter said briskly. "I'm the jailor, so unless you just don't want to talk at all..."
"That would be lovely, actually."
"Liar." Peter grinned. "You love hearing yourself talk, always did. You were worse than James—"
The bars rattled as Remus slammed into them, fury bubbling in his veins. Peter leapt out of his reach, eyes wide, frightened as he'd been that night in the shack.
"DON'T!" Remus snarled, fangs bared. "Don't you ever speak his name!"
Peter stared at him, his hummingbird pulse slowly steadying as he remembered who was on which side of the bars. He put his hands up, placating.
"Alright, Remus. Fair enough. I'm sorry."
No you're not.
Peter hovered awkwardly for a moment, rocking on his heels like he had something more to say — like there was anything more to say. As if he had a right to be disappointed that Remus would sooner swallow his own tongue than accept anything he offered.
"Right. I'll leave you to it, then. Be back tomorrow."
Remus watched him slip out of the room in silence, the heavy door swinging shut, the lock turning with a dull click just as the plate shattered against the wall.
-
"Brought you some soup today," Peter said conversationally. "Figured you might need it after talking to Bellatrix."
He slipped the bowl through the grate; Remus didn't move from his spot against the opposite wall. Every one of his nerve endings was on fire, but he'd be damned before he'd show it.
"She really needs to work on her conversational skills," he croaked, and immediately regretted it. Peter's eyes sharpened, searching his face.
Nothing to see here. Not for you.
"She was always mad as a hatter before, but Azkaban really didn't do her any favours in that regard." Peter sighed, leaning back against the wall, arms crossed. "Can't say I'm upset about getting out of that one."
It was in that moment that Remus decided that the Killing Curse was too good for Peter.
He hauled himself to his feet, trudging over to the front of the cell on shaky legs, leaning over carefully to pick up his supper.
"I see you remembered my favourite again." He sniffed at the bowl of soup suspiciously, checking for strange ingredients.
Potato. Leek. Broth... chicken I think. Cream. Bacon again, probably leftover.
"Figured a taste of home might not go amiss," Peter said quietly, frowning. "I haven't poisoned it, you know."
"I'm well aware that the only thing you poison is friendships," Remus agreed. "If you wanted to kill me, I should watch for a knife in my back."
"...That's not fair."
"Isn't it?"
They stared one another down silently, Peter with his best rainy morning face on, Remus towering above him like a thundercloud. He slowly poured the soup out onto the floor, flinging the bowl back through the bars. Peter dodged at the last second; it bounced off the wall next to his ear and clattered harmlessly to the floor.
He'd learned his lesson since the plate, apparently.
"Right," Peter declared in an overly plummy tone as he pushed off the wall, "we'll just try again tomorrow, shan't we?"
-
The following day, Peter brought down bangers and mash; it was cold and grainy, and the bangers were burned to hell.
Remus ate it anyway.
-
"You know, as pleased as I am that you've stopped throwing tantrums over the food," Peter mused through a mouthful of toast, "I'm genuinely surprised you haven't asked me why I did it."
Remus paused, looking up from his plate through one, unswollen eye.
"Probably because it doesn't matter."
He spoke slowly, as if to a particularly dim child, as if he weren't lying through his teeth.
Peter scoffed, spots of colour rising to his cheeks.
"Please, like you didn't spend twelve years tearing yourself up over Sirius. Why should my reasons matter less?"
"I'll give you three guesses."
Peter wrinkled his nose, scowling.
"You always liked him best."
"Dunno what to tell you, Pete. He gives great head."
There was a muffled snort from the neighbouring cell. Dean, by the sound of it. A week ago, Remus might have even been embarrassed.
"Remus Lupin, unfiltered," Peter said with a wistful shake of his head. "I fucking missed you, you know."
"This is very good bread. Do give my compliments to whichever unfortunate elf was responsible for it."
"That would be me."
Remus snorted at him, raising his mug of water in toast.
"Here's to moving up in the world."
"Fuck off." Peter eyed him speculatively for a long moment. "It was because I wanted it to end."
Remus peered at him over the rim of his mug.
There was a dark intensity emanating from Peter. Not dangerous in the same way that Bellatrix or even Sirius was; sharp and sinewy, a predator stalking prey. It was as if Remus was moving among the stars and encountered a vast nothing that devoured everything it dragged into its field.
No sound, no light, just cold, dead silence.
"All my friends were dying or turning into people I didn't recognise anymore, and I was terrified," Peter continued quietly. "Every day I was terrified, and I just wanted it to end. I didn't care how."
He pushed off the wall, leaving without waiting for a response.
It didn't matter. There was nothing to say.
-
On the fifth day, an apple rolled off the plate as Peter approached the cell. It hit the ground, rolling at his feet. He leaned down to recover it, and the rest happened very quickly.
Remus rushed forward, his arm darting out to catch Peter around his neck as he rose back up, yanking him back hard against the bars.
"You always were an idiot."
Peter thrashed and struggled in his grip. His fancy silver hand clawed at Remus' forearm, more powerful than Peter had any right to be.
But Remus was stronger.
"I would be lying if I said I didn't miss you, Pete," he said calmly, tightening his grip. "I missed you every day, like a limb. I still do."
The keys were jangling against Peter's belt loop, against the bars. Remus could reach through and grab them now, if he wanted to.
"You weren't the only one who was afraid, you know? We were just kids. Only the rest of us learned to kill our enemies instead of our brothers."
It wasn't about the keys.
"My brothers died twelve years ago." The fingers scratching and scrabbling against his arm were weakening, slowing. "I buried one with his wife in Godric's Hollow, and they put up a little statue for them that I still can't stand to look at."
Peter's knees buckled, his weight against Remus' steady arm adding pressure.
"I buried the other in a little plot in Coxheath, and I used to wonder why it couldn't have been me. And I grieved."
Remus took a deep, slow breath. A holy calm settled over him.
"I want you to know," he continued in that same soft, conversational tone, "that everything you've done has amounted to nothing. That you are nothing, and no one will remember you."
Things happened very slowly after that.
Peter stopped struggling.
Remus counted heartbeats.
There were six.
And then there were five.
He reached down and pulled the keyring from Peter's belt, popping the beltloop clear off. It wasn't like Peter needed it anymore. He left the body against the bars, opening the door to his cell without looking back.
-
"Hullo Professor."
Dean was watching him open their cell door with wide eyes, more surprised — appraising — than fearful. Luna waved at him cheerfully, same as when he'd last seen her, if a little taller. Remus nodded to them both in greeting.
"I'd say it's good to see you both, but I'm rather sorry you're here. Can everyone move under their own power?"
"Ollivander and Griphook are both a bit worse for wear," Dean said apologetically.
"Alright, well give me a hand now then."
-
It only took a few moments for them to get Griphook and Ollivander situated on Dean and Remus' backs, respectively. Remus, in the meantime, had been coming up with a plan.
So long as they were quiet and careful, he could sniff out the exit while avoiding the manor's residents. They just needed to be quick about it; he didn't know how long it would be before Peter was missed.
But no sooner did he reach his hand out for the door than it burst open, revealing a particularly unhinged-looking Sirius, closely flanked by Harry and Ron.
There was a short pause in which the two men processed one anothers' sudden appearance.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Remus asked faintly.
"We came to rescue you," Sirius said with a vaguely affronted tone.
Remus turned around, looking at the assortment of prisoners he'd broken out and the cooling body of the jailor at the other end of the room, and then turned back to Sirius.
"Well done."
Harry let out a choked sort of noise that might have been either a sob or a snort, he wasn't quite sure.
"Right," Ron said quickly. "So, mission accomplished, let's go!"
He and Harry ushered Dean-and-Griphook and Luna up the stairs first, Ron taking point and Harry flanking. The moment they were out of the room, Sirius reached out and cupped Remus's jaw, brushing a thumb across his cheek. He felt something damp on his face.
"Have you been crying?"
Remus shrugged.
"Maybe. I didn't feel anything," he said quietly, shaking his head. "It doesn't matter. Let's go."
Remus pushed past him, following the boys up the stairs. Sirius followed close behind.
They didn't look back.

Tea with Minnie and The Prank Pt. 2
It had been an entire month since Sirius had told Snape about the Whomping Willow. At first, he tried to corner Remus and apologize, but Remus deliberately avoided him and made it difficult to even get Remus to look at him, never mind get him alone. After a week, he had stopped trying and decided to wait for Remus to cool down, surely Remus wouldn’t stay bitter and angry forever? But Sirius quickly realized it was wishful thinking.
With Remus and James not even turning their heads in Sirius’ direction and Peter being stand-offish, he really only had Lily. As much as Sirius loved spending time with Lily, he quickly learned that Lily was no marauder. Sure, they had grown closer since the beginning of fifth year and sure, Lily did have a few pranks of her own up her sleeves, but their friendship was different. James was his brother and Remus was—well Remus was a completely different story for Sirius, but that’s besides the point.
After the incident, Sirius naturally didn’t accompany his friends in the Shrieking Shack during the full moon and as he stayed alone in the dorm room that night, his heart broke in two at the sound of the wolf in the distance. At one point, he had wished he asked Madam Pomfrey for a sleeping potion that afternoon so he could have slept through it all instead of being forced to listen to the howls in the distance when there was nothing he could do about it.
Normally after full moons, Sirius would take notes for Remus. After everything that had happened, Sirius was fairly certain James or Peter would do it, but taking notes for Remus had always put his anxiety at bay. It was calming for the quill to glide across the parchment in his precise and pristine calligraphy he had spent years trying to hide. As much as he hated it, it was more natural for him to write in such a way, which was why he only ever wrote with such elegance when he took notes for Remus.
“Sirius, as much as I enjoy you taking notes, this is Tea with Minnie. I’m happy to reschedule if you don’t have anything to talk about.” The witch spoke up. Her tone was gentle, despite her words being a bit harsh.
He gave a sheepish smile as he quickly set the quill down. He had been transcribing the notes for Remus and was nearly finished. He hoped to have finished hours ago to drop the notes off at the hospital wing before Tea with Minnie, but he accidentally fell asleep during his free period since he had spent the entire night awake, listening to the faint howls of the wolf.
“Is my class not important enough?”
“What?”
“Your handwriting. Is my class not important enough for you to hand in legible assignments?” She raised a brow with the faintest smile pulling at her lips.
“I only write like that when I take notes for Remus after full moons,” He softly spoke. “Mother always made Regulus and I write in perfect calligraphy—”
“Ahh, makes sense now.” She nodded and leaned back in her chair.
Sirius closed his eyes and sighed. Ever since the incident, Tea with Minnie was quite dull. Minnie had clearly been at a loss of how to navigate the situation and Sirius hadn’t been in the mood to talk about anything. They spent the past four Wednesday’s sitting in silence while Minnie graded and Sirius dozed in and out of sleep, but today was different. It was the first full moon since the incident and Sirius was clinging onto the hope that things would get better with his friends, despite not having any indication that it would.
“I usually take notes for Remus,” He softly whispered, his eyes still closed. “I-I know James probably took them already and that if I do give them to Remus, he’ll just throw them out—it’s silly, but I have to try. I have to do something for him.”
He let out a shaky breath as he opened his eyes to find a soft expression on Minnie’s face. She gave the slightest nod and went back to grading papers. He picked up his quill and returned to the parchment, carefully writing each word with as much precision as the last, his body quickly relaxing once he fell back into it. He knew that taking notes wouldn’t make Remus forgive him after everything, but he wasn’t doing it for forgiveness. He knew Remus wouldn’t magically forget it all happened, he knew Remus wouldn’t accept it as an apology, he knew Remus probably wouldn’t even utter a word when Sirius would hand them over, but he wasn’t doing it for forgiveness. He was doing it because every moon since second year, Sirius took notes for Remus. He was doing it because he had to, or at least taking notes for Remus after a full moon had become so ingrained in his mind that he felt like he had to.
When he finished the last line, he looked up, but McGonagall was still grading papers. Certainly it’d be rude of him to leave, so perhaps he’d try to get more rest before dropping the notes off to Remus.
“If you finished, you’re free to go.” She said as though she had read his mind. She didn’t look up from her stack of parchment, not even when he rose from the chair and scrambled to put his things in his bag. “Detention tomorrow at 5 o’clock as usual.”
He gave a slight nod then strode out of the room, carefully shutting the door behind him on his way out. He made his way to the hospital wing, taking the long way in hopes of avoiding James, who would certainly be leaving at this point. James always stayed with Remus after a full moon, well except a year ago when they two weren’t talking to each other, but other than that, James was always at Remus’ side after a full moon—good or bad moon.
The hospital wing was empty by the time Sirius quietly walked in. Visiting hours were nearly over, he was shocked Madam Pomfrey hadn’t rounded the corner from her office and said something. There was one bed—Moony’s usual bed—with curtains drawn on the other side of the room.
Sirius tiptoed over and carefully set the stack of parchment on the bedside table, which was a mess. Normally, Sirius would arrange the table with the food, drinks, and books, but James disorganized Potter and Peter always-disheveled Pettigrew must have taken over. He stared down at the table and briefly thought about heading back to the dormitory, but he couldn’t bring himself to leave when the table was that cluttered. He began to tidy up, trying to be quick and quiet, both difficult things when Remus was asleep only a few inches away.
When he ever heard rustling from behind the curtain, Sirius immediately froze. He tried to weigh out his options, but there weren’t many. If he tried to leave, Remus would most likely see him or at least know he had been there. If he stayed put, Remus would see him. Before he had a chance to drop the last book that had been in his hands, the curtain slightly pulled back to reveal a yawning Remus.
“Knew it was you.” He hoarsely spoke. Sirius’ heart dropped and he stared wide eyed at Remus, not knowing if he should leave or stay. He couldn’t even find it in him to move and he’d bet with anything he had that he looked ridiculous hovering over the table with his hands holding a charms textbook. “Thanks for the notes and for tidying up the table.”
Sirius barely managed to nod and finally was able to at least slowly set the book on the table before standing straight up. He gulped and mentally prepared himself for Remus’ outburst that was bound to ensue, only it didn’t—it never did.
“I know you’re sorry, Sirius—”
“I’m so fucking sorry, Mo—Remus.” He tried to start, but Remus held up a hand.
“I’m not mad anymore. I mean, I was mad probably up until I woke up just now to you cleaning over there,” Remus said with a slight chuckle, that only made Sirius blush. “But I’m not mad anymore.”
Sirius barely nodded at the statement. Remus was no longer mad, didn’t mean he was forgiven, but at least he was no longer mad. They stayed in silence for a while, Sirius not knowing whether or not to sit in the nearby chair or to leave. It felt too comfortable to leave, but too awkward to linger.
“Can I ask you something?” Remus broke the silence after a while. Sirius quickly nodded and braced himself for the inevitable question. Remus turned, now looking up at Sirius’ grey eyes for the first time in a month. “Why’d you do it?”
Though he had been expecting the question, his heart sank all the same. He shakily sighed and sat down in the chair as he began to explain himself. He explained how it had happened the same way he explained it to Minnie a month ago—even including the part of how angry he’d always gotten when Snape tried to say things about Remus when Remus wasn’t around, though his heart raced at the thought of Remus knowing that. He explained it all, occasionally slipping in an apology, which were all waved off by Remus. He had never meant for any of this to happen. He had never meant for Snape to take his comment to heart. He had never meant to out Remus.
“I’m really sorry, Remus, and I know that taking notes doesn’t make up for it—Nothing will make up for it, but I promise I’ll never do anything like that again, I swe—”
Remus cut him off by grabbing his hand, Sirius’ eyes immediately shooting over. They stared into each other’s eyes for what couldn’t be longer than a minute, but Sirius felt his heart race as though they stared at each other for hours.
“I know. I don’t entirely forgive you for it, but I can’t say I blame you for it all—”
“What?! Remus, I told Snape to go to the Whomping Willow! I told him how to get past it!”
“Yes but he’s the one who chose to listen to you for once,” Remus calmly said. “I already told you that I’m not mad about it anymore—”
“How—”
“Sirius, can we please drop it? I’m not mad about it anymore and it’ll take me a bit to trust you again, but I’m too exhausted to keep talking about this, okay?” Remus yawned, slowly turning on his side to face Sirius.
Sirius nodded and watched as Remus closed his eyes. He watched Remus drift off to sleep and sighed, his heart was finally at ease knowing that Remus was no longer mad at him. He knew he had a long way to go before Remus truly forgave him, if he ever did, but Sirius was just thankful that Remus was talking to him again.
He felt a smile pull on his lips as he contentedly watched the slow rise and fall of Remus’ chest and the way the his facial features were soft, unlike the rigid way he always portrayed himself as. The scar that barely missed his eye and crossed his nose, ending on his other cheek, didn’t look scary in the slightest—though Sirius never found it to look scary even when Remus was awake. Ever since Remus had gotten that particular scar, he always thought the same thing; it only made Remus even more lovely, even more beautiful.
“I take it he forgave you,” A quiet voice spoke. Sirius snapped his head and nearly jumped at the voice as he hadn’t heard footsteps. The witch smiled and Sirius forced a small one back, though it was no longer as hard as it had been lately.
“He said I’ll have to earn his trust back, but he’s not mad anymore.” Sirius whispered, then turned back to the sleeping boy.
“I suppose this means next week’s Tea with Minnie will resume as normal?” Minnie softly spoke, “Same topic from before this all happened?”
“Same topic,” He whispered back, his eyes not leaving Remus, “Don’t think it’ll ever change.”
“Goodnight Sirius.”
“Night Minnie.”
He listened for the quiet footsteps leave the room and waited until he was certain they were gone before squeezing Remus’ hand and ever so gently pressing a small kiss to it.
“I’m sorry, Moons. I promise I’ll do anything to make things right again,” He breathed. He paused and waited until he was certain Remus was completely asleep, which wasn’t until his snores had started, before continuing. “I love you, Remus, and I don’t think I’ll ever stop.”
He brought their hands back to the mattress as he leaned back in the chair. He kicked his shoes off before propping them at the end of the bed and continued to watch Remus peacefully sleep.
It wasn’t until long after he had settled, his own eyes beginning to droop and his shoulders slumped forward, did Sirius realize he was still holding Remus’ hand. He felt his cheeks blush at the thought, but after going a full month without talking to Remus and genuinely thinking he never would again, Sirius never wanted to let go.
