For over a decade, commercial and hobbyist drones have been buzzing through the skies without incident, yet suddenly people are losing their collective minds over this non-issue as if it's the harbinger of Armageddon. Are you all seriously this gullible? This isn't new technology—hell, we're talking about a military town with Fort Huachuca right there, the same Fort Huachuca that helped pioneer the use of surveillance drones in the first place. This isn’t Skynet coming online; it’s glorified flying cameras that have been around longer than some TikTok influencers have been alive. Meanwhile, a friend of mine has been building custom quadcopters for nearly two decades without a single newsworthy apocalypse resulting from it. But sure, let’s all clutch our pearls over something we’ve lived with peacefully for years, because apparently, critical thinking is optional these days.

The worst part? This drone outrage is nothing but a cheap distraction. While the masses are busy hyperventilating over the "threat" of flying gadgets, actual threats to democracy and justice are barreling forward unchecked. Luigi Mangione’s case—an explosive reflection of systemic neglect and institutional abuse—barely registers on the public radar. Whelp, it's finally happened. Had a nightmare that I woke up screaming from 🫠

#kee speaks #more like woke up and yelled cause it looked like the thing from the dream was still standing over me #already dont remember events leading up to ot #*it; but i was driving my truck snd shoulder checked before turning into my driveway and saw a corgi sitting by the curb a few feet before #had a thought of like wonder if thats an escapee or would i get bit if i went to check on it #completely forgot about it when i pulled into my garage and remotely shut the overhead door before going inside #which i found my family in there (essentially looking how we just had xmas last night)#conversation ensued and then we were leaving my house and i was taking my own vehicle so i exit into the garage #while everyone else went out the front door and i hit the button for the overhead as i walked to my truck where i paused at the door #my moms suburban was parked perpendicular to my garage door and blocked half of it so i couldn't see the street #but I'd remembered the corgi and paused to see if it would come investigate with the door open #well it did but there were like 6 other absolutely massive dogs with it that all came tearing around the suburban and knocked me over #and one of them was a rottweiler that went straight for my throat #i woke up at that point but when i opened my eyes my cats were both laying on me which they're both not exactly small #and at the foot of my bed there is a tall but narrow freestanding closet (ikea thing) and on top of it is a rolled up poster i havent hung #but the cabinet is black and the roll sticks off the top just enough that in the dark i could see the silhouette against the white walls #and it looked just like the silhouette of a rottweiler standing over me 🫠#so i yelled and the cats scattered #figured out what i was looking at before I even turned on the lamp but holy moly #happened like 5 minutes before my alarm went off too #i don't know why it was dogs ive never really had a fear of them #i did get bit across the face when i was like 6 but it wasnt a rottweiler- hell i havent even SEEN a rottweiler in years #but dogs in general dont usually make me nervous ¯\_(ツ)_/¯#idk but one of my cats is purring for me now

wait I was completely offline during a lot of the joever/Matty era and never caught up with the details. Did people exaggerate the gravity of matty's actions? What am I missing? I ask in good faith and do not mean to make u uncomfortable at all, I think you (and other POC) clearly deserved a lot better

it wasn't that the gravity was exaggerated at all—what he said was abhorrent and people were right to be exasperated and angry about it (i was as well)—it was that there was such an immediate push for everyone on here to actively condemn her for associating with him and openly grapple with being a swiftie at all. and my personal experience (although it's worth noting that i know this happened to other people as well) was that those who were not the people primarily affected by his bigotry created such a hostile environment that when i didn't want to constantly talk about how awful he was and how horrible it was that she was dating him, i was subjected to intense harassment (which i also spoke about at the time btw, although fewer people were willing to listen)

#it was hard too because the harassment came from 1975 stans when i did say anything remotely negative about him #but far worse and far greater was the harassment from those within our community when i didn't (and it was much more hurtful)#(btw i might delete this as well as the other asks about this if i think it's causing too much of a problem #so don't be alarmed if that happens)#anon asks #asks

Been at the ER all afternoon. Still waiting on a room. We're all ok here but mom's breathing has been really bad recently so we're hoping we'll get some answers by going in.

They did an xray and some blood tests and are doing a ct now. So hopefully we'll hear results soon.
