I know of no reason,

Why the gunpowder treason,

For anyone who doesn't know, in the UK every year, we celebrate the anniversary of Guy Fawkes' failed attempt to assassinate the whole House of Lords by blowing up Parliament (i.e. Westminster/Big Ben).

I can hear the fireworks as we speak. There will be much 'burning the Guy' on the bonfires. Guy Fawkes died a grisly death at the hands of our aristocratic masters.

And yet, as in V For Vendetta...many in the country wonder why we celebrate the survival of the Lords.

i do find it kind of hilarious the day the US picked to hold their elections is also the day the UK celebrates a guy not blowing up parliament
