someone sent this idea to @arsenalgbt and I decided to try my hand at it, so heres a tiny tiny tiny little drabble of the ben white stripper au !!! not great but I haven't written in a while and wanted to give it a shot

Ben shuffles through a stack of cash while a Kesha song plays through the walls in the main room, muffled enough that it's hard to tell which one it is exactly. A glance at the clock tells him he has a few more minutes to spare before he's back out for the second half of the night, so he grabs his phone and leans back against the wall. 

He’s rarely on his phone so it's not surprising when he opens it to see about a hundred messages, fifty missed calls, and just as many voicemails (an exaggeration really, but he's loath to actually count). 

The calls were mostly from his boss, Mikel, though he had gotten one from Kai too, likely telling him to call Mikel back. Always the teacher's pet. 

A text from the new guy whose name he chose not to remember, because honestly, the shitty tattoos and private dances were his thing, he really didnt need some hot foreign man coming in and taking all of his customers. 

One from his mother asking how his week had been- the only one he decides is deserving of a response. 

As he shuts his phone off, he hears the sound of the door to the break room opening, and looks up to see Reiss stampeding in, slamming the door in the face of a screaming woman. All dark skin and lean muscle, the younger man was probably the most tolerable of Ben’s coworkers. While Ben preferred the private dances, Reiss was all for the flair- costumes and dances up on stage, flirtations and advances on customers. Also seemingly favored by married men.

“You ever get sick of it?”

Ben blinks rapidly, taken off guard by the sudden question. Ben did the job for fun. He was chronically bored and he enjoyed having something to do with his nights other than lay lonely in his bed. Reiss did the job because he had to. He grew to enjoy it to a certain extent, yes, but he started because he had nowhere else to turn. A poor boy on the streets of London, constantly preyed on by those stronger. At least here he got payed for it. 

“I caught the flu from an elderly woman last week.” He says, turning to pack his stuff up, shoving his shirt off and into his bag, which went into his locker. When he turns back he sees Reiss still standing there, balls curled into fists. Okay, maybe not the time for a joke. 

He approaches the other man and places a hand on his shoulder, lowering his head to make eye contact. 

“Reiss, youre young. You have a lot of things left to do with your life. Make the money you need, then get out of here, yeah? You’re made for greatness. Just try not to punch any more customers.”

He flicks him on the forehead and walks to the door, pausing before heading out.

“If you don’t think you can stay the rest of the night, take some cash out of my bag and go home. Alright?”

He gets a nod in return before walking out of the door.
