#rei names his daughter akari

Just putting some world building stuff I've come up with for the Legends Arceus AU. Rei edition.

Rei's family has worked under Kamado's for at least two generations via a hoko contract. His parents were farmers, so they were tenant farmers back in Johto. They went with him to Hisui as part of the Agricultural Corps, but passed away due to a cholera outbreak that occurred when the initial settlement was being built.

As a result Rei inherited their debt and Kamado now owns his contract. He was a tween when they passed, about 11 or 12, so he just did odd jobs that were expected of all of the kids for a few years. He picked up some Galarian because of foreign merchants and investors visiting Kamado's family back in Johto, and as a child he's easy to spare so eventually he took on the role as an interpreter for the Team when they had visitors (re:investors) staying.

That's how Professor Laventon was introduced to him. Galarian Professor with a rudimentary understanding of the language? Rei's not that busy unlike the workers of the Supply Corps. Laventon would show him what he was doing since Rei was so curious, and eventually had Rei helping him out with small stuff evolved into Rei really wanting to be his apprentice.

So Rei works and studies under Laventon because it's technically free. Laventon won't charge for Rei to study under him, and Rei already got room and board considering his contract so Kamado makes out because now he's having a Galarian professor train one of his people? And he's already being paid to have said Galarian Professor here? It's a win/win station. Rei technically doesn't get paid an income because his salary is so low and all of it goes to paying back his parents loan, and Survey Corps work is dangerous (and scary) but he really does love what he's doing and got pretty attached to Laventon.

Post PLA when the Pokédex it published and Laventon is winning awards and getting actual money he pays off Rei's family loan in full and Rei studies at a Galarian university, then moves back to Hisui (now Sinnoh) as a Professor. His apprentice is Kamado's granddaughter. (How the Kamado to Professor Rowan pipeline got started)

Fanfic Recs! pt. 1

Hello hello! For yall that don't know me, I'm Billy or Sataara, either is fine, and I read a lot of submas fics so I decided to make a list of some recommendations that I have! A few things about me is that I can't deal with unhappy endings, heavy angst and/or any pairings where both brothers are with someone else (also no bl/nkship), so if you're looking for any of these types of fics, I'm sorry but you won't find it here :/

That aside, I'll make more than one post since this was getting kind of long, this first one are just multi-chapter fics! Most of these are either reunion fics or Ingo living after getting back from Hisui, with some exceptions! Gonna leave the actual description under the link with small personal notes on my opinion about them!

This fic got me hooked from start to finish, I was up until 5am at one point because I just couldn't put it down. Reunion with a lot of bumps in the road that only make the story more interesting and flashbacks that only add context making the fic more robust.

Legends, ponderances, and then some. by An_Ephemeral_Walk

Of all the lands, all the regions, all the timelines, it was Unova that was chosen. It was Unova that was the first to lose someone to a mythical being outside the domain of Truth and Ideals. It was Unova that fell victim to the being already tormenting both the Sinnoh of now, and the Hisui of then. While it wouldn't be Truth or Ideals that would ultimately lead Giratina to regretting going along with Volo, it would learn the taste of regret and defeat all the same in many flavors. Stealing the partner of a fiery ghost is a lesson not learned yet, but it will be. Oh, it will be.

I kept reading each chapter as soon as I got the notification, I cried happy tears reading it.

It's by complete happenstance that Emmet stumbles upon his blog, having taken on cooking as a hobby during Ingo's absence.

ASAMI’S ANNOYANCE

I thought dealing with Raiko was a pain, but this guy is something else. 

“Mr. Mayor, this discussion is getting us nowhere.  I’ve dealt with your assistants, your council members and now with you.  I have said the same thing to all of them and now I will say it to you – you can either have the upgrading of the monorail system in Ba Sing Se done correctly or done cheaply – you can’t have both.”  Asami plastered on her fake smile and stood up from the meeting table.

“Mrs. Sato, I still believe we can come to an equitable agreement.”  Mayor Won-Yee glared at Asami.  He placed both his hands on the table and leaned over it as he stood.

Asami was not intimidated in the least.  “Unfortunately, I do not.  Future Industries will not put its name on anything that is not 100% the best it can be.  The corners you wish to cut during this improvement do not fall in line with the way my company does business.  Therefore, I shall take my leave.  Good day, Sir,” with that the CEO stacked and ordered all the paper in front of her, put them into her leather briefcase, turned and left the meeting room.  Her assistant, Rei followed a respectful two steps behind her.  Rei glanced back over her shoulder to see Mayor Won-Yee looking apoplectic.

Once the two women were clear of Ba Sing Se city hall, Rei asked, “Do you wish to return to our branch office?”

Asami responded in the affirmative and they walked the three blocks back to their office.  This gave Asami time to calm down.  She knew she had been away from her wife and their daughter for too long.  The two weeks she had been in Ba Sing Se seemed like an eternity.  She was sure no three-year-old should be without their parents for that amount of time.  Asami felt defeated, a fortnight away and she had nothing to show for it.  Once she and Rei stepped back into their temporary workplace, all the employees turned to look. 

Asami spoke with as gentle a tone as she could muster, “I’m sorry everyone.  There was just no way to make the Mayor’s demands work.  I wish Future Industries could have helped your city but as you know, we only manufacture the best products.  This would not have been one of them, so I left the meeting.  I’m sorry that you may be bearing the brunt of some bad press for the next few days.  I want to say that I appreciate all the work that everyone in this office put into creating the plans, blueprints, and agreements for this project.  It just wasn’t going to work for the price and demands that the Mayor made.  Rei and I will be staying one more night and we will be returning to Republic City.  If there is anything anyone wants to show me before we leave just knock on my office door after lunch.”

The employees began to clap and Asami blushed.  The middle-aged branch manager known as San said, “We know you tried hard ma’am, but no one here would disagree with you pulling out of the meeting.  Future Industries is the most forward-looking company in the world and if you don’t think the project was right, it wasn’t right.”  He walked over and shook Asami’s hand.

She and Rei entered the temporary office they had been working in.  Asami slumped into the chair.  “Rei, please make all the arrangements for our airship flight back home.  I want to get there as soon as possible.  We can leave at first light.  I’m sure the flight crew wants to get home too.”

Rei dialed the phone and within ten minutes everything was planned.

Just one more night.  Thank the spirits!!  Then home to Korra and Akari.  This trip was a monumental waste of time.

Lunchtime had come and gone and suddenly there was a knock on the office door.

Asami’s assistant called out, “Come in.”

San walked in and behind him stood a bespectacled young woman.  She couldn’t have been more than 25 years old, and her smile lit up the room.  San introduced his co-worker, “Mrs. Sato, this is Kira Blanchard and she has been working on, what I think, is a million yuan idea.”

Kira stepped forward and shook Asami’s hand.  “It’s a pleasure to meet you, ma’am.”

“I guess I need to say it again.  It’s Asami.  That goes for both of you,” she said with a wink.  “So, what’s the idea?”

“I’ve been designing and experimenting with electronics ever since I graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering from university and this, I think, may revolutionize the industry.  We can miniaturize radios!!  With the work the company has already done on circuit boards and transistors, Future Industries can make radios portable.”  She handed the blueprints to Asami.

Asami was astonished.  She stared at the papers in disbelief.  “That’s amazing!! And astounding!!  And awesome!!”

Kira continued, “There are still a few bugs to work out, but I think I can complete this project and have a working prototype within 6 weeks.”

“It certainly is more than a million-yuan idea.  Make sure nothing about this gets out to the public.  We’ll make this portable radio the next big thing, after all, we’re called Future Industries, not present industries.  Well done to both of you.  When the prototype is complete and working get yourselves to head office.  I will inform the Board of Directors about this.  I am so glad that the two weeks I spent in Ba Sing Se wasn’t a complete bust.”

The day ended on a high note and Asami could barely sleep that night.  Not only because of the new radio design but also because she was going home to see her wife and daughter.  The only thing that upset her the next morning was when she saw the newest edition of the Ba Sing Se Bulletin, the largest newspaper in the city.  The headline screamed, Cabbage Corps to Upgrade Our Monorail.  Asami just shook her head.  Whatever!! She thought.

With the flight time and the time changes, the CEO knew she would get home in the middle of the afternoon.  She pulled her Satomobile into the garage and stepped into the mansion.  It was quiet, almost too quiet.  Asami went looking for Korra and Akira, whose nickname was Lights.  They weren’t on the first floor, so she headed upstairs.  She walked past Light’s room, and it was empty.  Then she peaked into the master bedroom.  She couldn’t help but smile as both Korra and Light’s were partaking in an afternoon nap.  They were covered under a duvet.   Asami toed off her shoes and removed her jacket.  She calmly crawled in beside her daughter and reached over to touch her wife.  Korra awoke and seeing the love of her life just smiled.

“Lights wouldn’t go down alone and who am I to refuse a nap,” Korra’s eyes twinkled.

“I won’t refuse this nap either so …sssshhhh.  Let’s not wake her up.”

“How’d it go in Ba Sing Se?”

“I’ll tell you later.”

“Love you. I’m glad you’re home.”

“Love you too and I’m glad too.”  Asami’s frustration forgotten.  The warmth in her chest and her gratitude for her life was overwhelming.  Some tears leaked out before she fell asleep.

in which todoroki and y/n are soulmates, the kind where your world is grey until you meet them, and then grey again when they die

Todoroki sat in his office, shuffling through the stack of papers in need of filing. Strands of his bi-colored hair fell into his face, he reached to brush them away when his world became colorless. The red strands blocking the vision in his left eye became a dull lifeless gray. Everything slowly began to lose color. First his hair, his brand-new blue suit, then his mahogany desk, the framed photo on his desk, the plant standing near his doorway. He sat in shock for a moment before being hit with a wave of nausea.

He scrambled to his laptop as the color faded from his world, frantically searching for some other explanation. The internet was no help, losing color was only caused by a soulmate's death.

Y/n couldn't be dead.

Todoroki shook the thought from his mind, grabbing his jacket from the coat rack and picking up his keys, yelling instructions at one of his sidekicks that he would be gone for a bit. He rushed down the stairwell, the echo of footsteps all around him. Todoroki wiped a tear falling down his cheek.

He jumped into his car, shoving the key into the ignition. His hands were shaking as he pulled out of the parking lot. His knuckles grew white from gripping the steering wheel. The color in his vision was only lost gradually, which gave him hope.

Shoto pulled into the driveway of his house, throwing the car door shut and running up the stairs to his bedroom.

Y/n lay on the bed, their breathing shallow and strained. Next to the bed was a small baby crib. The young couple had adopted the young girl in the crib after Shoto had found her on a hero mission. Y/n insisted that they could care for the baby and Shoto went along. They named the little girl Akari.

Shoto turned from the baby girl in the crib and to his partner, inhaling sharply when seeing how slow their breathing was.

"Y/n? Y/n, please wake up!" Shoto frantically attempted to nudge his lover awake.

Y/n inhaled deeply. The color in their skin had faded slightly. Shoto fervently dialed the emergency number for his city. Quickly telling the other end of the line what was happening.

Shoto had picked up Akari from her crib, holding her tightly as he watched over Y/n. The sounds of sirens filled his ears as he set the baby down and ran to the front room. He peered through the window and inhaled sharply. The color all around him had faded, hints could be seen everywhere, just enough to give Shoto a little spark of hope.

He opened the door and led the EMT to the bed room where Y/n laid on the bed.

Shoto picked up his daughter, calming her from the noise that filled the room. His face was cold but only to hide the fear. He couldn't see the color in his daughter's blue-green curls nor her bright yellow eyes.

The EMT turned to Shoto with a grim look. "They're barely hanging on, we'll take them to the hospital to see what's wrong."

Shoto paced through the hallway. His anxiety was high and he could feel his heart pounding through his chest. Fuyumi stood nearby, her niece in her arms.

"Shoto, you should sit down." Fuyumi reached to put a hand on his shoulder. The kind look that rested in her eyes was replaced by one of fear. "It'll be okay." Fuyumi gave a kind smile before pulling out her phone. "Touya is picking up Natsuo now. Mom and Dad are downstairs."

Within a few minutes, Shoto had bitten off the last of his nails and the rest of the Todorokis had arrived. Rei, Enji, Touya, and Natsuo. Rei had rushed upstairs as fast as she could, taking her youngest in her arms as he sobbed.

Natsuo smiled at his youngest brother. "Hey Sho."

Touya stood near Fuyumi where she sat with Akari. The baby was in a blissful state of sleep, oblivious to the chaos surrounding her.

A doctor emerged from Y/n's room, a grim look on her face. Tapping the clipboard in his hands to catch the Todoroki's attention. "Shoto Todoroki?"

Shoto nodded and stepped forward. "That would be me."

The doctor sighed. "I'm sorry, sir. We couldn't save them."

Shoto was in shock, falling back a few steps as Natsuo sat his brother in a chair. All the color faded from his world. Everything was in grays and blacks. Once processing the information, tears fell down his cheeks. Enji laid a hand on his youngest son's shoulder.

Y/n was dead.

just making dinner, minding my own business when suddenly my brain is like ‘hahaha AU of an AU’.

anyways zoroark possession AU where all the same background still applies BUT it’s also a modern AU where all the Hisui characters live in modern day and all the members of the Pearl Clan are also Zoroark (or Zorua, in Lian’s case). They were all cast out of their human families for one reason another, and decided to bond together to survive. They left Sinnoh for the safety of Nimbasa years ago and so of course Ingo becomes deeply connected to them, eventually embraced as a member in his own right. Akari/Dawn is also a Zorua in this AU, though her mother embraced her daughter anyways and decided to move to Unova to make a fresh start after a close call. She frequents the Battle Subway as a challenger.

On the other side of things, Kamado is Rowan’s much younger brother who has always been overshadowed by him, and strives to surpass him someday. This leads to him researching the legend around the ancient Hisuian Zoroark- namely the folklore that they’ve continued to survive in secret by taking human hosts. And then he happens to stumble across rumors of the Pearl Clan...

One day, Irida doesn’t make it back after going out to run some routine errands. They all search for her, and eventually they make contact with a very nervous Rei, who tells them the professor that he works for works for a man (Kamado) who had captured Irida, but he doesn’t think what Kamado is doing is right, so he basically sells out the location of the lab to the Pearl Clan even though he can’t do much more beyond that (other than try and be a decent human being to the trying to hold it together but still scared Irida. she appreciates it).

Unfortunately, they don’t get to her before Kamado makes his discovery public, which makes the Pearl Clan rescuing Irida- with Ingo spearheading the rescue effort- even more of a news sensation. Of course, they all hide their identities behind Zoroark masks and concealing clothing, but now that the news is out there, they can’t take it back...

Meanwhile, Emmet and Elesa can’t help but wonder where Ingo disappears to every now and then.

How are Akari and Ingo handling the knowledge that all their Hisuian friends are all dead? Logically, the know it as truth, Emotionally, imagine the impact.

Akari sharing a hilarious story of Prof Laventon chasing Rowlet around his office, and trails off when she realises that 'oh. I won't see him again.'

Ingo just fiddling with his pearl clan tunic and bracelet, remembering and mourning his fellow clan members.

Just them mourning their life in Hisui, it was all they knew for the longest time.

It all starts subtly. Cause at first, they had only just seen everyone when they said goodbye like two weeks ago. So even though they knew at the time they were saying goodbye for good and there was hugging and crying, it hadn’t sunk in yet.

But then, lil things like seeing unfamiler pokemon and Akari reflexively taking notes on it to share with the professor. Ingo finding a cool rock he knows Lian would like, Akari seeing beautiful outfits and hair styles she knows her neighbors would love to see, Ingo seeing strong trainers and fighting styles that he knows Zisu would be impressed by.

All these lil reminders of the friends they left behind Immediately followed by the sadness that they’ll never see them again.

It hits them both hard at different points. And to make it worse they seemingly traded a stable and respected home for a chaotic life on the run.

And then! There’s the subplot of the modern clans! Trying to track down Ingo and Akari as along with everyone else because of the ‘prophecy’ of the Arceus blessed Lady Sneaslers return. Because there’s this sacred sealed trunk that’s been passed down for generations that only those chosen by the prophesied Sneasler can open.

In actuality it’s a time capsule put together by all their Hisuian friends so that they will have something to remember then and to know what became of them. There’s lots of lovely gifts and stacks of letters and Ingo and Akari are both crying as they go through it.

The trunk wasn’t officially sealed into ten years after their leaving so they find pictures of Laventon and Cyllenes wedding, letters with a decade worth of gossip from Arezu, and a picture of a grown up Rei holding a little baby girl. The letter attached to the last picture informs them that the baby is his first daughter and he named her Akari.

As it turns out, Akari just so happened to be the name of Dawn and her cousin Lucas’s great-great grandma.

Ingo becomes a dad to another displaced child au.

A year before Dawn/Lucas fell from the sky, there was someone else, or rather, two someone’s that got displaced to ancient Hisui, a woman and her 4 year old daughter, The mum was a Pokémon trainer and the two were from Unova vacationing and camping in the Galar’s wild area when they got displaced. 

They just sort of appeared in front of some setters. That, and coupled with the daughter’s unusual appearance, She’s albino. They got labeled as cursed and witches, They were chased farther into the wilds unfortunately, the mum lost almost all her Pokémon in the distortion save for a newly caught Drizzile, that she caught for her daughter as a playmate.

Unfortunately the mum passed away shortly after getting hit by a poison sting and succumbing to the poisoning, soon Ingo started hearing rumors of a cursed child wandering the vicious wildlands with some sort of phantom protector. Curious, Ingo went to one of the elder members of the Pearl clan for the story. 

There was an old woman that didn’t believe in curses and was more realistic about the child’s situation, the old woman was concerned for her as she hadn’t heard anything about her lately. She’d gone to Irida several times to send a search party out to look for the girl, but the leader didn’t want to upset the clan any further.

From the old woman’s story, Ingo was very certain the child was just lost in time just like him, and decides to go searching with the help of lady Sneasler and they eventually found the little girl with a high fever; wasting away in a small cave. Of course they were attacked immediately by her very weak and tired Drizzile after managing to calm the Pokémon down, Ingo brought them back to his hut and was distraught that none of the settlement’s healers would help him out of fear of being cursed! 

Ingo was mess and freaked out that this child and her Pokémon were going die under his watch! Until, the same old woman who told him about the girl showed up on his doorstep with the ingredients for medicine and warm clothes, she helped Ingo treat the child illness with best of her abilities.

When the girl woke up and became healthy enough to move around Ingo tried to get her talking to know her name. but, it became very apparent that she was mute, Ingo ended up giving her the name Kloe and she became his ward, when not following Ingo around and mimicking him. 

Kloe is usually found at Ingo’s hut with her Drizzile and the Riolu her “Pago” (Papa Ingo) caught her; playing with a couple toys he’d had made her, one of them was an odd doll, much to Kloe’s confusion looks like Ingo, but is dressed in white and has a smile, Ingo seemed sad when she asked about it so she leaves it alone.

Despite being part of the Pearl clan, Kloe is still ostracized by the settlers who keep their children from her (Hence why Ingo caught Riolu.) even though Irida assured everyone that Kloe was safe, even explaining her appearance and how she ended up in Hisui was a complete misunderstanding, it was all in vain as they still stayed clear of the little girl.

When in Jubilife Village however the adults are bit more friendlier and their children are more than excited to see another kid to play with and she happily runs off with them for a while, until Ingo says it’s time to leave. When not playing, Kloe will be with spending time with her foster father at training grounds; usually training with her Pokémon. 

Sometimes the MC & Akari/Rei will notice she looks bored standing around all day, they’ll ask Ingo if he’s okay with it, they can take her out on a short expedition to keep her busy and out of Ingo’s way while he’s working.

The warden usually allows this as he trusts them, However, he makes it very clear to the teens if he sees so much as a scratch on Kloe, He promises the punishment he gives them in return, will make their battle with Giratina seem like a picnic in comparison. The teens keep that in mind and don’t doubt it for a second, that kid never leaves their sight!

If or when Ingo goes back to his original time you bet your ass he’s taking Kloe with him! Emmet will have some questions mainly about Ingo’s whereabouts and also about the mini munchkin clinging to his brother’s leg like a Joltik on a Raichu’s hide!

God fragment Akarei likes physical things- before their face-off against Arceus it is because they came to with nothing but the clothes on their back. They attach memories to objects- their partner's first pokéball breaks but instead of throwing it out, they keep it because it is their first pokéball, their first partner, the first thing that was Theirs. They ask Laventon for a camera so they can take pictures as well if the things they see that are all so new for them! After they confront Arceus their items are a reminder that Akarei is their own person! They exist! They are not simply a piece of something else waiting to return to their 'rightful place'!! Akarei keeps photos on them, Just In Case, and gives plenty to Ingo as well. Ingo gets a stuffed wallet both because Akarei demands it (because what happens if he returns to his time without warning??? What if he forgets them???) and because he likes the reminder of the memories. There's one of Cyllene standing over Laventon, who fell asleep on his desk. There are several pictures of Akarei and Akari and Rei, doing silly childish things. Akarei gathers up their family and gets a whole picture, humans and pokemon both. They touch each item before going to sleep, no matter how tired they are. Physical gifts are important to them not because of their price but because of their meaning and who gave them the gift.

PHM!Akari's first ritual was the one that got her train dads, after all! Waving to them whenever they passed by! It remains a ritual even after they move to town, so they know she's still awake and alive. Friday nights become nights that they scoop her away from the farm, grab Elesa, and go out to eat. They all eat too much, the adults get a little drunk, and after Akari repairs her home she herds them back and they all crash in varying places in the living room. The boys take time off during harvest time so they can help Akari, and at the end of each day of harvest they take a food item and use it for dinner. Akari asks Elesa for a new outfit for each town festival, even once Anthe joins the town and works with Elesa; the outfit is always something verging on uncomfortably flashy (the girl's out of her overalls, anything is too flashy) and that puts her in small heels.

PLAC Ingo and Akari figuring out how to live together. Ingo now has a child to look after that is also an incredibly powerful piece of technology but is also a child, first and foremost. He had to get her to brush her teeth by brushing his with her. It becomes habit. He checks under her bed for templars each night, even and especially after her recapture (Emmet helps). He takes her to work after his return and he and Emmet get her a little coat to match theirs, so people know who to return her to if she wanders off in a piece of Eden daze. Some nights she wakes up from nightmares that leave her shaking, leave her with memories of Before she was Akari, and she always needs outside time. Emmet or Ingo typically wake up because something in the house Isn't Right (keen assassin senses, despite their living in a home filled with their literal family and friends- no nuclear family here, there's like ten people in their home) and they'll see her outside, make her either hot chocolate or coffee (whatever's on hand), and give her space to come to terms with what happened. Sometimes she drinks what she's given, sometimes she doesn't, but it's a reminder of where she is and who she's with and that's what's important. The scars will fade, the memories will stay, but she won't be alone. She won't be a tool, she will be a girl.

THE WILD WEST AU!!! Rituals, Akari dropping a curse word to see how quickly Ingo notices and loses his temper. She always asks Cam for help with her outfit on dance nights. No matter how old she gets she holds onto someone's hand for comfort as they approach the stage. Jackie brought up code names, after she was recovered from Dawn, to cheer her up. It is very much like Parks & Rec codenames, but Ingo is much more irritated than relieved at being "Eagle Two". He's got the soap on hand whenever he sees Jackie & Akari giggling, just in case. Everyone makes it a game to see how close they can badger Ingo's sensibilities around Akari, as the baby, before he uses it.

And when she gets back from being taken by Dawn, when she's still weak and fighting off starvation and being shot, when she's barely conscious for minutes at a time, they all take turns reading to her or talking to her. Telling her about the ranch, and about her pony, and what's happened in town. They don't stop working, but someone is always with her. Holding her hand. Brushing her hair back. Ensuring she's not alone, that when she wakes up there will be some part of her family with her. When she gets sick, after, years later, they do the same thing.

Cam and Akari developing a secret handshake, always done behind the backs of the others and ending in giggles. Jackie and Akari being playfully antagonistic but incredibly defensive of each other. Cloud teaching Akari about books and boys, and the best ways to break both, a mother and aunt and grandmother all in one. Ramses taking Akari out, showing her how to track, how to get by on wild plants, ensuring her survival and always being the first to ask her to dance once music starts up. Isadore and Akari sitting in silence together, doing their own things in the comfortable company of someone who doesn't need to speak. Ingo and Akari being dramatic together, teaching tricks to the horses and doing some dangerous stunts while riding, playfully acting out book scenes and plays. Emmet and Akari going out to shoot, to race the horses even while they work, checking to make sure none of the animals need doctoring before going absolutely fucking ham on messing around. Elesa teaching Akari how to run a business and let people make assumptions before rending them asunder, throwing fashion shows between the two of them.

Akari in every universe finding a family that will cherish her and love her as she is, not for who she could be or what they think she should be 💚

Following in her fathers steps, Ichirou was a healer, helping trainers on their missions by healing them on the sidelines. She started this when she was young, her father taking her to his healing tent when she was first born so her mother, Akari, wouldn’t have to take care of all three daughters. This eventually progressed to her learning medicine, and crafting to help out, and even further, for her to find her job. Unlike her sisters, Ichirou much preferred to stay on the sides than battle.

EXTREMELY TEMPORARY ABOUT / OVERVIEW

i plan to write up a thorough and proper dossier for cogita once i have the proper focus and time. for now, though, this is a list of critical headcanons that effect my portrayal.

my cogita is volo’s biological mother. this doesn’t have to be adapted by other volo who want to interact, however. as far as my lore is concerned, volo was born of the wish that cogita and arceus shared to see the hero once again. enamorous is responsible for his creation, as it’s she who willed the blessing and turned their wish into a child capable of changing fate. volo is not the hero, but the hero’s willpower was reborn into akari/rei because volo exists. volo is nothing more than a catalyst that was destined for failure from the start. a tool, hence her emotional distance. cogita is the author of the old verses. she was the sole survivor of the true celestica and holds a deep bond with arceus, as he was the partner pokemon to her husband -- the hero.  she had a daughter with the hero named amarea who she’d lost along with her husband. she’s worn a black dress for the past 2000+ years in mourning for them, her people, and the countless pokemon whose bones she’s set adrift on the sea. her sole pokemon companions are a hisuian zoroark and an alternate color ninetales. zoroark has been by her side since the days of celestica.

because i’m a fan of the arceus movie, i consider damos to of been the hero. this is, provided, with multiple story tweaks. as far as my worldbuilding goes, the entire ‘betrayal’ and ‘near death’ of arceus never transpired. i’ll obviously adapt if someone has their own view of the ancient hero. her memories have begun to fade over the years. uxie showed her a mercy in taking away a fraction of the grief that haunted her, as it eventually became too much for her to bear. she and uxie are particularly close. certain triggers can bring them flooding back though, just as was mentioned in the old verses. cogita’s time is frozen. though celestica naturally had slightly extended lives, she was destined to be their lorekeeper -- thus her time was frozen shortly after celestica’s destruction. until the hero’s willpower is reborn she intends to live out her days in hisui to ensure it’s protection in his absence, the best that she can anyhow. her close connection to all the gods, lords, and ladies of the lands is a definite help. before post-game, she avoided jubilife completely. the idea of becoming attached to another, human or pokemon, is terrifying to her. after the defeat of volo and the assurance that the hero has been reborn / hisui would be safe, she finally managed to let go of her grief. this is because she’s asked dialga to unfreeze her time and allow her to grow old as any other would so that she may hope to love again without the fear of loss. despite her actual age, she appears to be around 43~47. Akari is the ancestor to Lucas who eventually get’s thrown back in time. Thankfully they immediately pick up on the family vibes and just treat each other like brother and sister. Maybe she get’s with Wanda’s brother, Zeke, so that’s why Dawn and Lucas end up having similar appearances.

Cyllene x Prof. Laventon. Okay so this would make Cyrus, Leon and Hop related somehow but to add some degree to separation to that let’s just say Cyrus’s part of the family comes from a sibling of Cyllene. Also since Cyllene is someone who seems to care for others unlike Cyrus I want her to have the fun descendants. But Cyrus got the no eyebrows and bad at feelings part of that bloodline.

Iscan x Palina’s descendants lead to Marlon. It still works weather you acknowledge the weird tan or just pretend he’s that shade all the time. 

Tuli is the ancestor of Bianca, this was something I thought the moment I saw her in game but I am going to take something else from this video on ancestor speculation and say that she is also Ginter’s wife which would make Bianca and Volkner like cousins or something. (that video I linked is very good and it’s also where I got the Marlon idea from so go watch it 😊)

Aspiration: Keiko wants to return to Akari. She refuses to allow another family rule over the empire in her place. It wasn’t even her decision to leave, she was abducted only a few days before her wedding night by a crazed man named Patty. If she doesn’t get back to her throne soon, it may no longer be attainable for her.

Special Features: Natalia has one of the most unique laughs- it is husky and full and proud and demanding of attention every time it makes an appearance. Her hair is wild mass of curls falling to her elbows and she has a scar on her left forearm. 

Hobbies: Drinking, drinking and more drinking. Occasionally star gazing since that’s her job and all.

Aspiration: She finally escaped her past. Now, she only cares about her crew and the ship they sail on. Whether they find eternity or not, she’s happy.

Hobbies: Boris likes to walk around the perimeter of the ship, searching for aspects that could be improved upon and then figuring out ways to achieve said enhancements without costing the captain a fortune. 

Aspiration: Boris wants to locate the Pool of Eternity so that he can take some of it and bring it to his sick wife. He plans on curing her and living life forever by her side. He also wants to see his daughter, and give her the drink too. That way, he could make up for the time lost while he was away. He hopes Linda joins him when he eventually returns home; he’d miss her terribly otherwise.

Hobbies: Nygel found joy in gardening. Back at home, his house was covered in exotic and gorgeous flowers from around the world... however, aboard the Blood Diamond, he can’t exactly plant anything anymore. 

Aspiration: Nygel wants to find the Pool of Eternity and drink it for himself. In his mind, it is the only way for him to honor his household and avoid bringing about shame. Hobbies: Tatum loves to play with animals whenever he has the chance. Especially cats. He always has time for cats. Even the strays.

Special Features: Though difficult, Philippe is incredibly intelligent and skilled in his work. He is a lifesaver. Unwillingly. 

Hobbies: Philippe would lock himself in his quarters at all times if he could. Whenever he does have free time, he spends it either reading one of the many books different crew members have in their possession, or going into the kitchen to talk to whoever he pleases. 

Aspiration: To escape the Blood Diamond and all of the worthless people aboard it. He wants to bring Toby along with him when he goes, and make a wife out of her.
