Basically, Arti didn’t have pups for a while. She left her colony at a young age to adventure, and eventually joined the scavenger colony on top of 5p. There she met the Chieftain, and they fell in love. She ended up ruling beside him,

Their first kid was The Quandary. A scug-scav hybrid.

Then, they adopted two others - The Harmonic, a little scug who loved to sing and dance. They were a failed purposed organism; made with the idea of having wings, but the webbing never developed, leaving them with weird protrusions out of their paws. This leaves them with poor balance and mobility; and yet? They dance anyway. And The Messenger, an orphaned scav from far away. They’re inseparable with the Harmonic - the two have been wandering for a long time, keeping together. Strength in numbers, after all. They’ve been titled the messenger because they’ve traveled far, much like the messenger scugs before them - plus, maybe they just like telling people things.

so i give you my favorite ship that ive ever came up with

hunter x arti x spearmaster x chieftain my beloved

i love this polycule so much because you have a bunch of yuri and then a cis guy /silly

if you want a little more ship explanation, here

i like to imagine that this ship happens in an au where regicide and love letter are already canon (hunter x spearmaster and artificer x chieftain) pre-arti and chieftain meeting hunter and spearmaster

during hunter's mission, spearmaster comes with her and they both get the idea to cause chaos to kinda get back at pebbles hurting spearmaster during their delivery run

so, they break into metropolis, get caught by scavengers, and brought to "the chieftains" so they can figure out what to do with them

this consists of miscellaneous stuff, you could imagine them having a rivalry and hunter and spears trying to fight their out of it only to fail and get put on trail or something (enemies to lovers polycule lets go) you could imagine that arti and chieftain just let them vibe and they all grow as a quad (slow burn polycule lets go) or whatever you want, it can go a lot of different ways and i love the ways that i imagine it spreading out from here

but eventually hunter thinks arti's hot, spearmaster's chill about that, and chieftain's chill about that too, so they all get into a big polycule and they're yuri and gay and they kiss and snuggle in a big yet cramped shelter and spearmaster gets deep pressure therapy YIPPEEE !!!

PLEASE i am CLAWING THE WALLS i gotta talk about regicide oh my god.

My headcanon artificer's story basically has her eventually fight and kill the scav king. The king respawns and Artificer's destroyed karma means she cant leave. She is also burned out on hatred, so to speak; now she is just exhausted.

And the king, who is actually pretty kind, decides that the best long-term solution to having a mass murderer trapped in your city is to pretty much declare a truce.

At first Arti is NOT happy about this arrangemenr but at least she isnt being actively hunted down anymore (this helps massively with her anxiety i'd imagine). She is still very hostile to anyone who gets too close to her den. She also has to duel a lot of scavs so they can basically get even with her for killing them (based on ideas from @its-the-sa).

Uhhh eventually Arti grows to trust the Scav King, which is a HUGE deal for someone like her. She sees herself and the King as equals (in battle, anyway). In turn, the King isn't afraid of what Artificer can do to him, but *is* afraid of what Artificer can and has done to his people.

Imagining it gets to the point where the King is able to like. Go wake up Artificer (any time before noon is early for Arti) to go to some political thing and Arti is just face down in her den going GRRRRRR. But the King knows they are just being grumpy and they won't actually hurt him. Theyre so different and yet they eventually get along so well...

i love the scav chieftan shes so awesome an i lov regicidee

i made a poly of them with arti and monk for the hell of it j coz i ship sunset, but its kinda interesting ig. named it peace explosion but if you have a better name im open to it

In actuality, Arti doesn't get her pearls until she's already killed the chieftain, but we can ignore that here.
