sort of a character study? combined with an artistic experiment? is that the right word for it? either way i like this style, the usage of the translucent brush for shading came out really well imo. reminds me of working with inks.

either way i hope I got that vibe of moon being a scragly old lady who has just gotten a new lease on life and is trying to make the best of it.

author's comments; moon is not naturally this scrunkly. her muscles have just atrophied because of a prolonged period without any water or food (thanks to being in a shelter and disconnected [hah] from her can rather than being exposed to the elements). don't worry, she's working on it and doing better.

also i didnt mean for moon and arti to be doing the same pose but honestly, i dig it. they're both traumatized old coots trying to make a better life for themselves.

It/Its, Scavenger Chieftain of Looks to the Moon/Submerged Superstructure (Disconnected AU)

Drawn with pearls for once! I noticed that the canon chieftain has pink and yellow pearls, potentially like Pebbles' puppet, so I decided to give Spines blue and pink pearls like Moon's! Also, they're not shaped like classic pearls, moreso decorative like the mantra pearl in outskirts.

Other differences between the canon chieftain? It doesn't have the ID drone with it. I've implied it in the fic, but Spines has figured out a way to keep it in the Bitter Aerie gate for others to use.

Old Grandpa (slash gender neutral) energy, slow to anger and quick to end conflicts, but willing to throw hands if necessary. Prefers to use electric spears over explosives (less collateral damage).

By association, protects Looks to the Moon and Artificer from being attacked by other scavengers. The latter took... plenty of work to get to the point we see in the fic. I've expressed my intent to go in how that happened in a spinoff fic, but... yeah.
