Big clap for myself in the past, who added this to my folder of ideas/images for the cover image for the game.

Set of reference images for Alyena. I might add to this later.

Her hair. It’s even longer though, she can sit on it. Ebony brown in color.

Color of her eyes. They’re fairly big. Gives her an innocent look.

She finally has a proper face claim.

Above is her skin color.

Build wise, she’s fairly lean, more of a long legged, muscular dancer than anything else. She can and will break a man’s head, neck or spine with those legs, and kicks like a horse.

Usually dressed like either of these images.
Approximate body type.

This may be a strange request, and I'm not sure if any of you would even go for it, but I thought that I might as well ask.
In my Art ALevel I've got to use first hand images (can't use pinterest 😭), and soon I'll begin to start making my final piece.
The idea that just struck me (if my attempt with clay next week will work out well) is to make a portraiture sculpture that mixes in ideas like below:
So would anyone like to be my reference?
I would need pictures of profiles shoulder up (front, both sides, back, maybe top too?) in a similar pose to those in the images ^, let me know if you wouldn't mind doing smt like this :) I would of course not be sharing the pictures online and the only people that would see them is probably just my art teachers (as I'll need the references printed).
Or if you have any images of butterflies, flowers, plants or birds I'd also really appreciate it, whether sent through dm, an ask or @ in a post 😊

I just wanna say that I love all your character redesigns, they're all very beautiful! I also wanna ask if you have any recommendations of sites or books for researching historical fashion.
Thank you so much! I’ve had a lot of fun over the years <3
Historical fashion is a very big amorphous topic so take all of my recommendations with their usual grain of salt and keep in mind that the most important of things are primary sources and authorial context. For example: the portrait of a Queen is generally going to be the beautified propaganda version of the day, but still a primary-ish source of her fashion. Channel your inner historian and examine your sources critically. Who recorded this history? Why?
Photographs are stellar. While there were “photoshop” tricks those usually don’t change the clothing. Extant garments? Bog bodies? Gold mines. So never be afraid to dig into clothing that has been preserved or displayed.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that what kind of fashion and when it happened is going to set the parameters for the majority of your research. It’s too big a topic to have an easy answer, tragic I know. However there are communities upon communities online that specialize in certain historical moments, countries, styles, art, etc, etc, etc.
If you want a really great general overview by decade of Western/European fashion I recommend the website Fashion History Timeline. They don’t have a lot in their Medieval or ancient sections but 14th century to 21st century is a LOT of ground to cover while still being an easy to navigate website.
If you want even more Renaissance to vintage clothing research to the point where you could make or purchase those items yourself there is American Duchess.
And finally, honestly, someone has probably made a YouTube video about it. Double check their research and sources but if you want a plain speech audible research paper with visual aides… it’s kind of the place to be. University lecturers have slide videos up about fashion, the historical “cosplayers” do a ton of research and trial and error construction, history buffs will tell you all about it. There are so many talented people out there, from ‘Not Your Momma’s History’, ‘Off the Great Wall’, ‘Mochi Hanfu’, ‘Dandy Wellington’, ‘Bernadette Banner’, ‘Priorattire’, ‘Pinsent Tailoring’, Mina Le and so so so many more!
And I think that’s everything for now? Let me know if you have more questions

A Little Something Extra!
Since we just ended the last bracket, for real this time, I thought I'd share some of the files I made/edited in order to make the graphics for this whole thing. Free to use for whatever you see fit to.
This will be the first part of three. 1/2/3
Staring off, here's the VS logo I made, redrawn from One's Justice.
These are the blank bracket graphics, 16, 32, and 64 contenders respectively. The 64 bracket is a bit insane but I'd seen bigger brackets in the past that only listed people on the left and right and they're really hard to read since everything needs to be so small, so I tried taking advantage of the open space on the top and bottom.
These are the final results images I made. I can't find the original blank 32 image. The coloring was slightly different and I adjusted the colors to make the the last two for the 64 bracket. I based these on the ranking graphics from the sports festival.
Here's the blank podium I use for the final 3. The photoshop is a bit iffy but it hardly matters when you put other characters out there.
I also cut out the medals into crappy little jpegs.
One more thing from the podiums! Since Star and Rei didn't have anime design sheets at the time, I needed to crop screenshots instead. I was too lazy to edit out baby Shoto on Rei though.
These probably don't look familiar! I made these gifs as header images for the first four brackets. I debated making some for bracket 5 and the all star bracket but, frankly, these are a pain in the ass and it would've been very difficult to reformat.
I also made a much more simple gif to put up during significant breaks between brackets.
That's all the standard images, the second two posts will be the transparent edits I made for the character results pages. Take Monchan for now since I just barely can't fit them all in two posts.

Lenore Image References
I seem to be needing to make one of these for Lenore too.
Under the cut are a selection of images with commentary, to describe Lenore’s appearance.
First off, this:
While the colors are wrong, the face shape and details are perfect. This only needs recoloring to be her face.
As for her hair, this is the closest I can find.
Both in style and color. Though she rarely wears it down. Usually pinned up in a way that hides her ears.
Yes, she’s terribly monochromatic,
her skin is this pale.

Doesn’t help that she has the Nostraman black eyes.

Like this. No whites visible at all.

Her ears are approximately like this.
Much shorter than Aeldari ears usually are.

Yes, she has wings. Big black crow wings. Like some sort of angel.

And yes, fangs. Top and bottom.
Slim hand with long fingers and black claw like nails.
She has scars and freckles pretty much like this. Claw marks across her nose and the right side of her face, and a line across her throat like someone tried to slit her throat.
This kind of body type.
The biggest splash of color would probably be her clothes. Here is an example of the typical style she wore on Nostramo.

Though out on trips where she isn’t allowed, she drops the embroidery, going for dark brown, green and gray colors.
She still covers her hair in this way after joining the Great Crusade, though sticking to muted natural colors.
More pictures in a reblog as I hit the limit.
