max the sucking/fucking dichotomy reminds me. i think u would very much enjoy the game dildo-knife. you draw a graph on a whiteboard (or a blog) and you secretly determine two axes to plot things on.

(classically the game is introduced with 'utility as a knife' and 'utility as a dildo' hence the name)

then the other participants suggest items, and you plot them on the graph according to their values. when people think they know the meaning of the axes they may try to guess them as well. the game ends when both axes have been guessed

OOOHHH KDJ locking himself in the Imperial library would be so KDJ of him to do HAHA, tho the main obstacle for that is to first get permission from the Crown 🥲 which, sadly for him.... would mean cozying up in some way to either whoever is the Cardinal and/or Empress/Emperor in this AU (it could range from Persephone and Hades, to Namgung Minyoung, or to even Kyrgios [but I think he fits Johann's role more], etc etc)

((Unsurprisingly I'm gonna go off on a tangent bc anything TWSB related makes my Freak™ show—)) (I JUST LOVE SOOKYM'S WORLDBUILDING SM.... IM SORRY I CANT HELP IT.....) 😭😭😭😭 but libraries—or rather books—actually have a rather important part to play in TWSB, or at least, in showcasing a noble family's strength, power, and prestige. In the Divine Kingdom of Venetiaan, the general populace has an incredibly purposefully low education and literacy rate (due to Queen Lilianne's plan of using the population's dumbification to manipulate their blind curated religious beliefs into having them conscript for her war), so owning books is seen as a symbol of wealth and high education, and the more wealthy a family is, the bigger they would represent that in their family's library. The Riester Empire is different in that education of the common folk is NOT something that they purposefully deprive them of (in fact, we've actually seen the Imperial Family invest in academies for different sorts of talents/skills that could accept even commoners as students), but the significance and importance of books and libraries is something both countries share!

ANYWAY, small tangent over wkdjdkd But all that is to say, a diplomatic hostage like Jesse Venetiaan (and KDJ in this AU) would not have casual permission to use something as precious as the Imperial Library sadly :')...... Which is unfortunate for our Reader bc in a lot of Fantasy AUs the library is a place that KDJ commonly escapes to WKWKKWKWK (IT'S ONE OF MY FAV TROPES NGL...... 😫😭 library lurker KDJ who eventually catches the eye of [usually Crown Prince or Duke of the North] YJH who is entranced by the peaceful figure KDJ makes, backlit from the light of the window and focused on whatever trashy novel he's reading......)

But assuming KDJ knows his chatacter's original fate in the original story (dying during the Riester-Venetiaan war), just like he does in ORV, I bet he would be the type to know exactly what to do and what to avoid, and how to achieve the perfect most "ideal" ending for the story. He's a scheming lil bastard and I trust his survival abilities (well..... until he dies. but he'll come back like the rat he is LMAO...) But considering his personality (at least with The Audacity that the Fourth Wall allows him to have), I think he'd head straight to scheming his way into the good graces of people that he could benefit from (and gaining access to the Imperial Library for some good reads def feels like an essential benefit wkwkwkk) with as much liberties as his complex position as a diplomatic hostage could allow him.

AND OHHHHHHHH YEAH..... POOR JUNG YESEO...... It's such a sad sad SAD image to think about, but also....the though of him frantically trying to organize hundreds of chapters of a repetitive regression scenario story VIA his little sister's tear-filled incoherent hyperfixated ramblings is. kinda funny in a very mean way (LMAO). CedChris would ask him/wonder if he's actually a prophet but when compared to /actual/ prophets like Camille Bacary, they'll kinda look at his sweating face and go "🤨😐 right... prophet huh....". Though it should be said that Yeseo is actually crazy smart when he wants to be/when the situation requires it, so I trust he could do his best to help his companions in an apocalypse with any valuable information he has absorbed thru osmosis via his sister. (And in the case of the "Acciddentally-took-Eunseo's-phone" scenario—canonically, Yeseo managed to get through all 302 chapters of QPB's part 1 in a few days, but it was mostly skimming haha but you can assume he'd be somewhat of a quick reader....... though the stress of scenarios would definitely make him a zombie over Eunseo's phone.) But regardless, considering the personalities of these kids, I still feel like an orv!TWSB(or rather QPB) would be more lighthearted(as lighthearted as it can be) to reflect its targeted Reader: Eunseo! Think of an Action Fantasy Regression novel with a persevering main character like Ham Ga-in Christelle who gets through difficulties with as much stubbornness and cheer as she can (though this would naturally dim throughout regressions, but the core of her character is still important). Idk how far into TWSB you are so I don't want to say much wkdjkdkd but yeah..... KDJ's relationship with TWSA and Eunseo's with QPB are SO similar and yet so different, and that difference can partly be traced back to the type of people they are, which is reflected in the type of genre their favourite respective novels are (which also reflects on the characters in said story too) TT

Hi, it’s Jae Anon again! Remember the necklace story I wrote a while back? I thought of a couple more plots that could be done, I’ll write the second one later!

Celine looked through the different jewelry at the thrift store, trying to pick the perfect necklace for her date tonight. Her eyes landed on a couple shimmery necklaces, both a gorgeous deep blue. Celine picked up the beautiful gems, admiring them for a moment. She took them to the register and paid for both, happily taking her purchase home.

Celine spent hours finding the perfect outfit, choosing a white, flowing dress that stopped at her ankles. She put the necklace on, admiring it in the mirror as she put her red hair into a bun. Celine grabbed her purse and walked to the living room, grabbing her keys to leave.

“That’s a beautiful necklace Celine!” Tracy exclaimed, gently touching the stone. “I know! It’s even in a matching set! Here, you can have the other one!” Celine said, placing the necklace around Tracy’s neck. She hugged her roommate before heading out, driving to the fancy restaurant to meet her date.

When Celine arrived at the restaurant, she was met by her boyfriend, David, opening the door for her to get out. “Hello beautiful. Ready for our date?” David asked, kissing Celine’s hand. She could only giggle with a nod, holding his hand as they entered the restaurant.

Celine ordered a 6 oz steak with sautéed vegetables on the side. She also ordered a chicken Caesar salad, feeling rather hungry after all the excitement today. David ordered some wagyu beef, plated with a baked potatoe and some grilled asparagus.

The salad came first, allowing Celine to eat enough to calm her growling tummy. When she finished the salad, she let out a low sigh when she felt rather full, unusually full for just a salad. She figured it would go away, seeing as it was just a salad.

By the time the steak and vegetables came, Celine didn’t want to touch them because she was so full. She wasn’t sure why it was happening, but she felt fuller after waiting for her steak and vegetables.

“Are you okay Celine? You haven’t touched your food yet,” David said, concern lacing his voice. She gave a quick nod and started eating the steak, not wanting to worry David at all. Celine rubbed her stomach with her free hand, feeling her extra full stomach. It stuck out a bit, unnoticeable thanks to her float dress.

Celine forced herself to finish the food, sitting back a bit to allow extra room in her stomach. She wasn’t sure how or why this was happening, but she felt like she had eaten three times the amount of food that she had ordered. Her eyes widened when she saw a small cake placed on the table, looking at David with surprise.

“It’s a vanilla strawberry cake. I ordered it especially for you,” David said, a small chocolate cake being placed in front of him. Celine could only smile before slowly eating the small cake, feeling it pile into her already overfilled stomach.

After the cake, Celine excused herself to the restroom, locking the door before she stood in front of the mirror. She lifted her flowing dress groaning when she saw her bright pink, gurgling stomach. It wasn’t as noticeable when the dress was down, but it stuck out enough that it could be seen.

Suddenly, Celine felt like she was eating more, despite not having food in her mouth. She held her stomach as she felt it swell a bit. Celine noticed the necklace glow, realizing that it must be something with the necklaces. She tried taking the necklace off, but it wouldn’t budge.

Celine rushed as quick as she could with her swollen belly, giving David a quick kiss before running to her car. Her stomach got in the way as she tried to buckler herself, forcing it to buckle despite the pain it brought from tightening over her growing stomach.

She rushed home as quick as she could without getting pulled over, having to waddle into the house at this point. Tracy was sat on the couch, pigging out on all sorts of food. “Tracy! Stop doing that! Look at me! I look pregnant!” Celine exclaimed, her belly sticking out so far that she didn’t have to move the dress to show it.

“It’s not my fault you ate enough food to feed an army,” Tracy said, popping open a soda to chug it. Celine groaned as her stomach gurgled angrily, the fizz causing her stomach to grow even more. Tracy set the can down, realizing that Celine was telling the truth.

“Oh my gosh! I could’ve popped you!” Tracy exclaimed, taking the necklace off. Celine’s necklace stopped glowing, allowing her to take it off. “Look at my stomach. I feel like I want to throw up but my stomach is too tired to even try,” Celine said, rubbing her massive belly.

“Go change into something more comfortable and lay down. Let your stomach work through all of that,” Tracy said, ushering Celine to her room. With some difficulty, Celine was able to take the dress off. Her bright red belly was top heavy, the food so packed that it hadn’t even processed yet. Celine tried rubbing some bubbles out, painfully burping up a few belches.

She put on a pair of leggings and one of David’s hoodies. The hoodie was barely big enough to fit her round abdomen, the soft fabric on the inside feeling rather comfortable on her hurting belly. She waddled her way to the living room, plopping heavily to the couch next to a guilty Tracy.

“If you want to make up for ruining my date, you can start by massaging some air out of my stomach,” Celine said, watching as Tracy perked up. The girl immediately set to work on massaging and kneading Celine’s packed belly, managing to get up a lot more air than she thought she had.

Celine winced at first, but it slowly turned into a relaxing feeling. “Next time, you’re wearing the other necklace and I’m getting revenge,” Celine said drowsily, a chain of burps making their way out of her mouth.

“Sure thing, Celine,” Tracy said, giggling softly as Celine started to drift off. Tracy did feel rather bad, but now she wanted to do it again. She enjoyed helping Celine relax after such a large meal, wondering what other ways she could give Celine a beautiful, round belly like the one she had now.

how did u choose your username?

oh, this is a fun one!! i think i considered being swordtold at first, for that very ancient myth vibe of the sword being this narrative tool for adventure and structure and physical time, the parable being passed down through the centuries until it meddles into modern day rhetoric and ideology – a kind of fantastical tool, a spark of magic, of possibility.

i like the arc of the story of a place being physical / having it be held by time and hand alike, wearing with the years and having it become something different to each holder, each reader, each experience fantastical and individual.

having that kind of physicality to it; swordheld is the action of taking up and holding the sword yourself, choosing your own narrative, leading your own story. self-identity has always been something i struggle with (a novel concept i know, i know), so it felt right for this blog, since most of my older blogs before this one have been just me silently reblogging and never really posting anything myself, and i wanted this to be the change to that.

i've always had trouble wranging my social anxiety, esp. on the internet, and previously thought that keeping my words to myself helped keep the timeline cleaner, in a way, no messy thoughts for others to sort through, especially ones i believed no one would want to read anyway? but it never felt right, keeping myself apart from it all, esp. not in the way i so avidly enjoyed reading others' posts and additions, keeping their words close to my heart.

i wanted it to reflect that this was a space i was holding for myself? and i'm a little slow on the uptake sometimes, but this - this i think i got right. i love being here, on this blog, and the joy that it brings me. everyone else enjoying it too has been a wild ride that i never expected, and still surprises me, one that brings a little extra thrill to my heart whenever i think about it.

i had other urls that i liked, but i didn't want this blog to be tied directly to any of my fandom/story interests, since i wanted it to really just be a sort of archive of artistic inspiration and resource, like a little library or museum. i use them now as lil sideblogs of more niche interests now, which is rather lovely.

it hasn't always felt like it fit perfectly, the way that i'd like, but for some reason i can't think of really wanting to change it anytime soon. it feels mythic yet modern in a way that feels like puzzle pieces finally slotting into their place, something my own and inspirational to me, like a lantern i'm holding to make my way by. my own kind of light, if that makes sense – a star i know by name.

OMG that's so awesome, welcome to the twst fandom and congrats on having such fantastic taste in characters and ships lol!! i adore vilidia (obviously, if my whole vilidia tag is any indication) but i haven't posted about them in so long, i hope you don't mind if i use your ask as an excuse to share some silly little headcanons that i don't believe i've posted before:

so i think that when vil was like, 10 or so, his dad tried to encourage his love of potion-making by getting him one of those candy chemistry kits. the ones that come in super cute colorful boxes and teach you how to make things like exploding pop rocks and glow-in-the-dark gummies while explaining the science behind it. (here's a picture of basically the exact thing i'm thinking of.) but vil, poor sweet little vil who'd already let the brutality of the entertainment industry make him believe that he needed to be absolutely perfect, just rolled his eyes and said he was too old for that stuff and that all of that candy wouldn't be good for him anyway. he never once touched the kit, even though part of him probably did really want to.

and i also think that at some point, after he and idia had started dating, idia bought one of those same kits online and just barely mustered up the courage to ask vil if he'd like to join him and ortho in making some of the candy. he claimed the entire thing was ortho's idea, but vil could tell that idia really wanted them to do this together and he decided it'd be okay to indulge his boyfriend just once. as he actually made the candy he realized that although it obviously didn't teach him a single thing he didn't already know, it was still a lot of fun and he wished he hadn't rejected things like that as a kid.

also, speaking of chemistry, there's a voice line in-game where idia implies that he is not good at it. so while i think he and vil would be fascinated by each other's different fields of scientific interest and would love talking about it together i also think that one day idia just very overdramatically goes like: "omg i'm doing soooooo bad in my chemistry classes... if only some super smart and kind and very attractive person would help me out..."

and vil responds by telling idia that he most certainly does not share his younger brother's talent as an actor. but he agrees to help anyway and then they have cute study dates.

idia's habit of starting to excitedly infodump about his interests only to suddenly get embarrassed and stop persists for a while into his relationship with vil but every single time it happens, vil encourages idia to keep going. he often says things like "oh, are you done already? that's a shame, i was so looking forward to hearing more about sora's journey to save kairi". it takes a long time but eventually idia gets to a point where he's so comfortable around vil that he doesn't feel embarrassed anymore.

re: your thoughts on dignity, i think that modern western culture has an emphasis on visibility and transparency as inherently good and so many efforts to improve people’s lives involve bringing what is hidden to light and into the public: raising awareness, destigmatisation, representational politics, some kinds of therapy, etc. but this is always going to reduce the complexity in what can’t be seen in people, which is what dignity speaks to: honouring people without assessment or proof. you might be interested in edouard glissant’s work on opacity, he talks about how opacity is a right that is denied by the west due to its need to surveil, measure, and translate without acknowledging what cannot be translated between people

I don't know to what degree this can be attribute to "the West" but otherwise I think this assessment is right on the money.

Since the story is they want to have a happy relationship but don't want to rush into it, I thought the new trait might fit better than unflirty (no offense meant, the pack wasn't out yet when the challenge was posted.) I think this is a wonderful idea tbh! If the pack had been out when I originally wrote the challenge I probably would have picked Romantically Reserved over Unflirty for the My Melody gen because you're so right, it does fit the story prompt better.
