Reddit strikes again!
guys, I put this goliardic meme on reddit and they removed it. They are very, very, very strict with memes. I don't understand the meaning of all this. In the end it is a meme made to make you smile, there is nothing offensive or scabrous. I am really dismayed.

ok so i tried to comment on a post on r/adhd talking about some bullshit a psychiatrist told me about how she wouldn’t diagnose me with autism bc i had a fairly large group of friends and autistic people can’t have that many friends (yeah, what the fuck), despite the fact that basically that entire group was neurodivergent (and queer) and at least one person in it would eventually BE OFFICIALLY DIAGNOSED WITH AUTISM.
then i get this message

imo this is wack. firstly, neurodivergent IS just a descriptor. full stop. and i don’t want to say “people with mental health disorders” or any bullshit like that. (especially since adhd & autism are neurodevelopmental disorders, not mental illnesses) it’s clunky and awkward and in my experience NOT HOW PEOPLE TALK. neurodivergent is an incredibly widespread term! there’s nothing wrong with it!
then i checked out the links, and here’s some of their “position on neurodiversity” post

this is all bullshit? like i also disagree with framing neurodiversity as purely neutral differences in cognition—yes certain things would be much less disabling if society was more accommodating, but even in a perfect world things like adhd and autism would still be distressing/disabling for a large number of people. they’re using the beliefs of specific groups that also happen to use terms like neurodivergent (because it’s a descriptor and a lot of people use it!!!) to label everyone who uses those words as part of a specific “neurodiversity movement” and i don’t like that??
anyway i’d like to hear some other people’s opinions on this
#i just woke up so if this is incoherent that’s my bad#but like. i’m kinda mad about this xD#fuckin reddit mods strike again yknow#and yes i could just edit my comment but i don’t want to because#1) i use the word neurodivergent. my friends use that word. if you don’t want to that’s fine but *I* do#and 2) now that i read their bullshit stance i want to change it even less. i don’t agree and i don’t want to go along w this crap#adhd#actually adhd#neurodiversity#neurodivergent#autism#actually autistic#jx.txt

okay. so let’s set something straight.
reddit (and many on this website) spent the last 2 years absolutely shitting down the backs of every single person who suggested that Joe Biden drop out and allow a primary to occur. i was referred to as ableist for suggesting because Joe Biden was clearly suffering from dementia, he should not run for President again. you can find those posts to this day on my blog.
so in theory, the top comment in this reddit post at the top of the politics sub should be reflecting critically on how the democratic party, its supporters and the feeble liberal media machine essentially handed the country directly over to the fascists, right?

sike dream on chucklefuck. orange man bad forever and always. that sign is probably for somebody else anyway.

I have not posted any of my analysis to reddit yet and I think I might just post it and ghost it. I've already spent too much time looking at other people's threads on there to feel any way good about interacting with folks.
I already went in an added the "I know you're going to bring this up let me save you the time" section which is exclusively touching on the frequent topics of:
"well what about the fingerprint nostrum and finger mimics? He is clearly just a crackpot"
And
"it's definitely some weird elaborate sacrifice to Metyr thing"
#if he's drinking hallucinogenic tea in his free time genuinely good for him. whatever man. i just do not think either of those items are-#at all relevant to the quest especially the nostrum because it is a placebo medicine and aint nothing fake about this shit#also i think theres a distinction between becoming fingers vs wanting to replace metyr? idk like as ive said i think he thinks he's-#better than the fingerweavers and rightfully so#like please come to a new conclusion other than “man this guy is on drugs”#also girl... metyr doesnt need sacrifices. like? where is that textually or in set design? metyr wants us to leave her the fuck alone#she's minding her own business EVERY TIME WE SPAWN INTO HER ZONE#like why are people so desperate for everything to have a dark undercurrent? not everything has to be some dark disney ass shit#“actually finding nemo is a hallucination & Marlin is insane & nemo is dead that movie is actually super fucked up & dory is a grim reaper”#like im sorry but this is how this extra shit all feels to me#like it is already fucked up and miserable?#is he 100% a good person? like thats genuinely person to person. theres personal gain from the quest#and hes definitely very good at getting what he wants#manipulate manifest mother#tail fingers on the vision board#devon yaps#and yap I did#like I don't want to be a bitch because yeah we should genuinely celebrate other peoples theories and hcs in these games#but i dont think “lol this guy is just on drugs” is one of those things#because i like spooky theories if theyre backed up.#but to say “its this weirdly horrible thing and youre all wrong” especially in his context is not great to me#Sorry. like may my own arrogance strike me down like the scholar i think i am 😤 farewell#because again its coming down to meeting this narrative without preconceived bias and most of the reddit stuff feels like-#“he is fucked up. won't say why. but i bet you know why i actually think this 🤫🤫🤫” like just you cant wrap your brain around guy mom#i do really want to reiterate this is about reddit shit. like i am so into people who love his character but interpret him more sinister💕😚#truly eating that shit up

It's also because how reading is taught has changed in recent years. A (nonscientific and disproven) method was sold to schools that essentially turns reading into a contextual guessing game under the name "whole language approach". It's based on the idea that kids will figure out how to read with little to no instruction if you just give them books, with explicit guidelines in the best-selling curriculums to not explain how to read via more traditional methods to encourage self-learning (which, as someone with autism aka Couldn't Learn Things That "Come Naturally", sounds insane). This is contrasted with the previous popular method (which is backed by research) called phonics where you just teach kids how to sound out words... Which is a critical skill, btw, otherwise you constantly mix up words; substituting similar sounding words (or synonyms that don't match the spelling but are contextually sensible) is a sign that someone is not reading the actual text and is common in kids who were taught the newer method.
Kids who don't get explicitly taught that skill either figure out via deduction/problem solving (which is a separate skill from reading), get taught it by their parents (which is putting the onous on the wrong people), or they just. Fail. Repeatedly. And we end up with skyrocketing illiteracy rates and "Gen Alpha Can't Read".
There's a podcast about this called Sold A Story from American Public Media that I highly recommend. Many schools are literally failing to teach kids to read and this started long before the pandemic.
I hate that the "Gen Alpha can't read." conversation so much because people are taking this as a chance to call children stupid and their parents monsters instead of having a very real discussion about how the education system is flawed by design, covid fucked up everything socialization wise, these parents having little access to child care and more work hours leads them to lean on things like tablets and phones to watch their kids more and more, teachers are more overworked and underpaid than ever leading to them leaving the profession in droves and that's only like the surface level issues. There's a myriad of factors at play here, not just that "The kids are spoiled screen-addicted brats with no imagination and their parents are childish spoiled millennials who just let coco melon handle everything."
#I don't have kids and never will but I hated school so when someone linked the podcast on reddit I was like#hmm ok lol let's hear what the new ammo is for dunking on american education system#TURNS OUT THERE'S SHITFUCKED RIGHT NOW#capitalism strikes again I guess bc it's people selling curriculum to schools and lobbying to keep it going after it's been debunked#absolutely insane#the reading comprehension website needs to hear about this honestly#anyway#literacy#education#reading#whole language#phonics#teaching#america#ela

Mars in the Ascendant Persona Chart - Houses

The mars in the ascendant persona chart can tell you how your raw sensuality can come across as or how your rage and anger can be expressed, when coming into contact with others. This is my 10th part of my ascendant persona chart series, so check out my masterlist to see my other posts.
1st house - This is a very intimidating and powerful place for mars to be in. People may have a tendency to step around you, especially those with weaker mars placements. You may be seen as a very strong and powerful person and may introduce yourself with a gust of power and force. Very action driven, and sexy however once again people may be a bit intimated by you. Use that to your advantage.
2nd house - This is such a girl boss placement to have being that you're seen very much as a go getter and ambitious in your desire to chase after material gains. You may be very picky on who you let touch your stuff and you may appear to be very possessive of what you own. But since the 2nd house doesn't aspect the ascendant on first meeting (unless this person is touching or helping you gain items), you may not be that intimidating, and that is something the people in your life have to learn.
3rd house - Very strong and powerful voice, you could be a good debater and love a bit of banter. However this could be taken in the wrong way being that you may make jokes that are too strong, that could cause offence. This could also be an indicator that you don't vibe with people of similar background to you and you want to explore other topics because of that mars energy. Very spunky energy 3rd house mars.
4th house - Since this is the deepest part of you a 4th house mars does indicate that you may come across very protective of your home and loved ones. This could be a person who's very adamant on following familiar traditions and therefore will these ideals will show when interacting with others. Very striking appearance with a 4th house mars being that it's square the 1st house, possibly strong features could manifest with this placement.
5th house - You may be very artistic and even a dancer, life is fun and you hold others hands and welcome them on a great ride of excitement. Very sexy placement to have being that this energy is trine the 1st house, and a persuasive house swell being it's the house of fun and dating. I would say that if you have this placement if you want something tease and make little jokes and you can get what you want.
6th house - Such a girl boss placement to have, very organised and practical. You may have a high level of energy when it comes to your job or personal health and wellness. This is the placement for people who live very focused and perhaps active lifestyle. It could be about being a workaholic or a gym junky. This placement indicates someone who is driven to be efficient, organised, and to take action to improve their physical well-being or work performance, so rock on. Very dependable and respectable person.
7th house - This placement indicates that when interacting one on one with others you may express a bit of force and aggression. This doesn't mean that you like to square up on others however you may like to make mean jokes or even want to experience the highlight with others. This placement is just screaming 'I'm a bad influence but you're going to have fun with me'. With this energy opposing the ascendant, very striking and powerful presence.
8th house - You hold secrets and may hesitate before expressing your lust or desire for others. There could be a sense of shame you carry which you hide however it's in the 8th house which brings a bit of mystery to your presence. You can appear to be calm and composed at one point however it's all or nothing and roaring passion in the next.
9th house - If you have this placement I would recommend you download reddit and just start arguing with people. Lolololol you are very passionate about your personal beliefs and ideologies, you could be very spiritual or the opposite. You may want to tackle and rip apart books and explore different cultures to understand how it functions and works. Yeah if you have this placement read books to back up your claims. Not to mention this firery energy is trine to the ascendant meaning that this fiery curiosity Is taken quite well.
10th house - Should we all bow down to you. You are naturally such a boss b*tch with a regal air of sophistication. Such a well placed mars. You guys are ambitious and know when to put your foot down and you mean it. Being that this is the house of career and public perception this could mean that you may know how to utilise your marsian energy and detach from anger and what not. Very powerful, not to mention sexy as It just reeks power.
11th house - You are all or nothing about their beliefs and goals (depends on sign etc etc though). You're are likely to be assertive and possibly even vocal about their personal ideas and strategies to help society. Being that this energy is in the 11th house of friends you may sometimes have the tendency to put your foot down and not listen to both sides as you may prioritise your ideas etc etc. Great placement for an social activist.
12th house - This is a somewhat of a cutesty placement for mars to be in, however since its a malefic in a malefic house, you may come across having a troubled mind, or the exact opposite. Being that the 12th house is a pisces house this could represent surrender and you fully understanding the dark truths of life, which is unfortunately translated into your behaviour and how you interact with others.
DISCLAIMER: this post is a great generalisation and may not resonate with you. I would recommend buying a reading from a professional astrologer (or me) to get more insight

So like, the Reddit strike going on right now, yeah? I've been seeing a lot of people comment on how they appreciate the protest and then go on to say that this has the notable downside of them constantly looking up questions and not being able to easily find the answers because all of the easily-findable answers are exclusively on Reddit. I am not sure if most of the people making this observation are within the line of thought of "man, maybe this protest isn't such a good idea after all" or "man, it really sucks that we've let the internet get so consolidated," and I'm really hoping its the latter.
Like, all of this? This right here? Reddit making a shitty, anti-consumer grab for money and control over how people are allowed to access the information on their servers, and the website going dark in protest causing tons of people to not be able to access important information? This is exactly what people mean when they say that it's bad that the internet has shrunk down so much and is mostly comprised of, like, 10 websites. It's a fucking problem that one company making one bad decision and causing their website to crash and burn can jeopardize so much of humanity's cumulative information.
This two-day glimpse into the internet without Reddit is the warning shot. Imagine what will happen if Reddit actually goes down for good for one reason or another one day. Imagine what will happen if/when Discord or Fandom bites the dust, or gets rendered practically-unusable without paying an ever-increasing premium because they're owned by blood-sucking corporate leeches.
Another big thing is Twitter clamping down really hard on your ability to DM people if you don't have Twitter Blue. If this goes through, it'll put a ton of artists and sex workers who rely on Twitter DMs for their business operation into a shitty situation. Now, obviously, it's not gonna be the end of the world for them, but once again, it feels like a warning shot to me. Twitter is a sinking ship, and unless something changes and it starts to course-correct, I worry that it'll go under and all of the creators who rely on it will suddenly be in an extremely precarious situation.
These are the sorts of things that we, as the users of the internet, need to seriously think about as time goes on, and if we don't find an adequate answer sooner, we're going to pay for it later. I still hold that the best solution is to start making and using more individual, niche websites. Things like Twitter, Reddit, Discord, etc. have their place, of course, but I seriously think a lot was lost through the death of things like individual forums and the existence of many different wiki-hosting sites.
We need a concerted effort, not just on the side of larger creators, but on the users themselves, to stop exclusively using these larger websites and support the creation and growth of smaller, more niche websites, and prevent a catastrophe before it actually happens. I simply hope that people with larger platforms than my own pick up on all this and start talking about it and swaying people to act sooner rather than later. I know it's possible to correct the problem of the mysteriously tiny internet before a modern Library of Alexandria moment happens, I just don't know if that correction will actually happen in time.
