TacAir F-5 fighters will provide opponent training at the U.S. Navy's TOPGUN school

The U.S. Navy selected the company Tactical Air Support (TacAir) and its F-5AT fighters for the next NAWDC REDAIR Task Order.

This contract is for Opponent Jet Fighter Services (RedAir) in support of the TOPGUN course of the Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center (NAWDC) and exercises of the Air Wing of Fallon Air Base, Nevada.

The signed contract is 1 year with four 1-year options, until 2028.

Tactical Air said it was very proud to have received this highly sought-after contract, allowing continued support to the U.S. Navy and the frontline fighter crews of the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC).

TacAir uses several Northrop F-5 fighters, 21 of which were purchased second-hand from the Jordanian Air Force (F-5E and F-5Fs). Several of these jets were updated by TacAir, after which they became known as F-5AT (Advanced Tiger). The first F-5AT received the FAA operation certificate in 2018.

where Toys is Dopium, Seed is Serpico and Rose Marie is Doradilla, but there are literally dozens and dozens of other plausible solutions I can list (with Rims, Carrie, Toys, Case, Coast, Dime, Dice, Domestic, Tires, Dream, Cream, Tic, Mayo Ice, Ace, Taima, Car, Mac, Ma'a, Aimes, Soda, Yoda, Mari/Mira, Mota...) and you'll have to come back for those.

(And, yeah, it's absolutely fine if those are wildly wrong. It's a phrase with a masochistic level of indeterminacy and I'm just putting off those post-Christmas chores! 🤣)

*Because "it's not personal" is the silliest phrase in the English language.

French private contractor acquires Mirage 2000 jets from Qatar

The French private company, ARES (Advanced REDAIR European Squadron), acquired 12 Mirage 2000-5 fighters from Qatar to provide training to French Navy fighter pilots.

French ARES believes in the deal with Qatar to acquire the twelve "used" fighters. The deal was possible because soon the emirate will have the 36 Rafales ordered (in 2015 and 2017) and is therefore reselling a squadron of the previous generation of Dassault fighters, the French newspaper Les Echos reported.
