Something something Ace's "ideal" date is a theme park where you ride the roller coasters and in this event he invites Yuu to ride with him, if Yuu picks the "that was fun" option for the ride he's so happy, even after pranking you about the photo ops* he's clearly jazzed you're there with him.

Something something his group the only one Yuu ends up spending the entire "event" with, Yuu and Grim generally leaving midway through the other groups' "events". Something something Ace treating Playful Land as a Dry Run if he ever asks Yuu out on a date something something Ortho replaying Ace's "admission" about dates at a themepark from the Ghost Bride event, connecting the dots and spamming Lilia, Cater and Trey's DMs to be Ace's wingman on this trip (shout out to Lilia who volunteered for Grim baby sitting duties)

So the photo thing is a pretty big thing at U.S. theme parks? I've never been to a different country so I wouldn't know if it's a big thing in other ones, but I'd imagine it is in Disney ones since it's an extra way of monetizing your time at the park. It's part of the experience and meant to be a souvenir; it's not just tied to coasters even though those pictures tend to be the funniest.

Oh Ace...

Maybe part of him is surprised at how much fun he's having with you. He knows he likes you, but then didn't he also "like" that girl? That's why he dated her... maybe he half expected to ditch you so he could actually have fun. But that's not what happens, he's having fun with you here. Any brief moment you are gone ties knots in his stomach and it starts to ruin his good time.

Of course Ortho is going to be a little shit about it. Ace might be the littlest brother in his family, but Ortho was grown in a lab to be someone's annoying little brother. Ace can't look at you for .01 second longer than usual without Ortho digging up that recording and threatening to play it. Not that he really needs to, Cater has been trying to tactfully arrange some aceyuu *alone* time for the entire trip. Trey isn't really much help at all, but he does give Ace a thumbs up and tell the others to calm down a bit which he is greatful for.

Of course Lilia will babysit Grim! He's so good with children, and with supporting young parents. He was one himself you know, you can come to him when (no not if don't be silly) you need advice c: ahhh young love~

According to the timeline, Sophia Rhone was studying at DAMN while also raising Damien. And since it's (I think) a 4 year course, she was juggling schooling and taking care of Damien, by herself, for all 4 years.

Which leads me to believe that at some point, atleast once or twice, she had to bring Damien in with her because no one was available to take care of him.

If the staff at the time were nice enough, I reckon they tried their best to make her not seem burdened and kept little Damien entertained as much as possible.

So imagine a long lasting staff member at DAMN, one that new Sophia and Damien, seeing Damien now, thinking back to when he was a baby, then seeing him finish his schooling at DAMN and eventually working alongside them, like a distant proud parent.

darlin hated the start of school.

and while yes,it was for all the typical reasons, the new routine,waking up early, Shitty teachers,the stress all of that

what they hated the most was, how lonely they feel at the start of the school year.

the dread usually befalls them a month in.

that's when everybody had picked their "school bestie", the person that's gonna spend the rest of the school year with,sit beside, laugh with,hell, maybe even hang out with after school if they're lucky enough to find someone they like that much

that's how life long friendships form, too, if what the adults in their life are saying is correct, sometimes even true love is found like that, if mrs and mr greer are anything to go by (but they doubt that, not the love part, just the examples)

everyone has their person a month in school, everyone, except for darlin.

they look around them during the little time windows they get to breath during classes,and they find that everyone is talking to someone, they're loud and obnoxious,laughing loudly and adding to jokes they can't hear clearly

the person besides them had the two in front of them turn around, they're talking about some show,they can't tell you what it's about,though thry bet they talked about it at least once everyday for the past week, they tried to listen in the first time, maybe they'll watch it and have something to add to the conversation, but it turns out to be something way out of their interests so they dropped it.

they realized then, looking at everyone around them,that they're the only one who's just sitting there quietly even the quiet kids sitting behind them are whispering to each other about something.

and it's not for lack of trying, they tried to like what others were into,listened to them when they spoke about it,but the moment they try to speak about something they liked, they got nothing more than nonchalant responses and judging glances, sometimes even the "just watch it and shut up,tank" that one time

so now they don't talk to anyone about anything

because while yes they were happy being best friends with asher and milo last year, they knew that it always was asher and milo,the two peas in a pod then there's them,just there,and that's not asher nor milo's fault, they sat together,had lunch out together everyday while darlin had to stay in the school cafeteria or else they had to bring one of their parents to sign them in,and they couldn't do that

milo and asher spent the most time together,it obvious that they'd be closer

and maybe they were selfish for thinking and feeling this was but as they were put in the same class as milo while ash was in another,they were giddy that now they'd have milo more than ash this year and it's all balanced up, milo will be closer to them now!

they Chuckle at the thought now,seeing Milo talking to the person besides them, someone thry just met barely a month ago ,with more enthusiasm than they'd ever seen,completely ignoring their existness

and they understand,he deserves to have people who like what he likes just like they think they deserve one too, but it still hurts seeing thr person that was sitting besides them switch with the one beside milo , noe the two are sitting together,and they're talking more than he ever talked to them when they sat next to him

and yes,milo is a good friend who waits for them and takes their hand through the halls so they don't get separated in the crowd, but they're not walking together, they're looking for Asher,so Milo gets to spend time with him before they return to their saparete classes again, it's not for them,as much as they wish it was..

so don't blame them for falling for the first person that actually put them first, no matter how sick and twisted he was
