Red Dragon!KRS!!

In this au, KRS has already gone through all three of his growth stages. Now that’s crazy considering he’s around Cale’s age when he frees himself from White Star and that he’s still small. When held in captivity, White Star had forced all of his growth stages at once. Ouch. His growth/plate was stunted as a result, leaving him super limited in his abilities. The only reason he was able to escape at all was because of his attribute— or his Earth ability— Instant. Record is an anomaly to all of this, considering it’s still an Earth ability but not his attribute since it will always be passive.

Why does he still have scars? He was basically treated in the same manner as Raon, except rather than simple entertainment and a side quest to tame a dragon, White Star was absolutely driving towards dominating KRS’s existence. He was super relentless with his abilities, using his Dragon Slayer sword to inflict irreparable damage to KRS’s body, which are the only scars left on him. Even the tiniest of cuts inflicted by that sword left a mark.

KRS was born as a very unique dragon. The first thing noticed when he hatched was an unbearable presence, almost like Dragon Fear. His unnatural features were second. His wings and tail were sharper and longer, his scales were colored blood red, and his eyes were a vibrant reddish-brown with blank white slits through the middle, watching everything around him and making it all the more unsettling. White Star was so amused by how alike they were and intrigued by KRS will, he decided to keep him on a whim, after almost gouging out his heart.

Eighteen years later, when the plot of Birth of A Hero finally begins, KRS would go to find Raon and free him, unknowing about him being his younger sibling. They find out instantly though, ever watch Tinkerbell: Secret of the Wings? It’s that kind of connection, maybe not so much with their literal wings though!

Also, about the ancient powers. Due to KRS’s strangely forced growth, his magic was incredibly stunted, despite his attribute and other abilities being amplified. Basically, he can’t communicate with mana and nature like regular dragons, he has to store it himself and while reserves are quite large despite it, the mana is very strange… As a result (and with a bit of cheating from the God of Death), KRS was able to find a balance between his strange, disconcerting mana and the ancient powers, becoming a ticking time bomb for a hot while until he could get all of the attributes, of course.

Kim Rok Soo wakes up several hours later. Surprisingly, he hasn't been moved from his position, still held up against the teenagers chest, face in his neck. Only now there's a monster fur wrapped around Kim Rok Soo's back and tied behind the boy. A... baby carrier.

Choi Han presses a hand on the baby monsters head when he notices it wake up. With his right hand he tightens his grip on his knife and casually swings it diagonally through the air, a black aura cutting through the space in front of him and arriving at the creature that attacked them, reminiscent of a cross between a mountain lion and a goat, with oozing green fur and bulging eyes.

The monster is cut. The monster falls.

Kim Rok Soo squirms in the carrier. It makes him recall a memory of a father that would tie his baby to his back when he went out to fight. His wife had died, so he had no choice but to manage alone, because he couldn't trust anyone with his child. They both disappeared one day, and Kim Rok Soo never heard of any bodies being recovered.

Whatever, he thinks. It isn't embarrassing to be in a baby carrier if he's a baby. He hasn't been thrown away or left behind, so it's fine, right? Unfortunately, he notices, it is glaringly obvious that they haven't left the forest yet. Nor does it seem like the teenager has a base.

He didn't want to admit it, but seeing that monster, and a black haired Korean teenager that managed to kill it so easily... it made Kim Rok Soo remember the book he read last night.

The Birth of a Hero.

It seemed unreal to jump to the conclusion that this teenager is Choi Han, and that they're in the Forest of Darkness in a fantasy novel, but the hand stroking up and down his back reassured him that this was reality. And that Kim Rok Soo... was a monster.

...

No, what was he? A monster didn't make sense. Could he really have been dropped into this world as a newborn baby monster? That might as well be the world telling him to die! If he hadn't been next to his egg shell then wouldn't Choi Han have killed him instantly?!

Kim Rok Soo doesn't know how long Choi Han has been in the Forest of Darkness, but the calm exuding from him even when he kills monsters bigger than himself makes it clear that's it's nearing the time that he'll find Harris Village.

His stomach rumbles with a loud noise. He's ravenous, but the idea of hunting a monster ruins his appetite. Choi Han will feed him, surely.

He hasn't eaten since he hatched. Kim Rok Soo was forced to record books about child rearing before so he knows that babies need to eat often. Does a teenager- no, a teenager that is over a hundred years old now- know how to take care of a baby?

Choi Han pats him on the head.

"Hey." The patting was a little harder than maybe it should've been. "... Can you eat meat?"

Kim Rok Soo hums but it sounds like a warble. Monsters don't speak. Babies don't speak either. This kid is really asking a combination baby monster a question about his diet.

Even if it wasn't super obvious, Choi Han was obviously desperate for companionship. The tone in his voice made it clear that he hadn't spoken in a while, to someone or to himself. Yet, in this terrible forest where everything sought to kill him, Choi Han willingly picked up a liability and is trying to care for it.

Kim Rok Soo warbles again, quieter. This is why this kid ends up being the main character. Kind people will always find a way to be kind.

Choi Han unwraps the carrier and Kim Rok Soo readily jumps to the ground. He misses Choi Han's flinch because he's facing the felled mountain-lion-goat monster.

Experimenting, Kim Rok Soo sticks his elongated mouth into the flesh wound made by Choi Han, but only gets a mouthful of flowing blood. It floods his nostrils and he takes his face back out, shaking his head and frowning at the bad tasting blood.

The wound won't work, so he tries to bite through the fur somewhere else, but it doesn't even tear. He's a baby monster but he can't even do that much?

He's going to try something else when a black flash has him flinching and tumbling backwards. He lands with his back to Choi Han's leg.

Choi Han reaches towards him.

Kim Rok Soo closes his eyes. Did Choi Han decide he was useless and that he's better dead? He hadn't even had the chance to try fantasy food yet! He wanted to fall asleep on a human bed once they got out!

Something wet touches his mouth.

Without thinking, he takes it into his maw, finding it squarish and squishy. It tastes like the blood his mouth is coated in.

Kim Rok Soo blinks and looks up. Choi Han is looking down at him with expectant eyes. Though his face is devoid of emotion, he manages to still seem like a friendly- if a little apathetic- high school student.

The meat is chewy and softer than he expected, or maybe his jaws are stronger than he thought, so he ignores the fact that it tastes like blood and stares into Choi Han's eyes.

For being stuck in this forest for a hundred years, he has a nice gaze.

Gulp. The meat glides down the back of his throat incredibly easily. If he hadn't been a human before this, maybe he would've swallowed it immediately without chewing.

Choi Han waits for him to finish swallowing.

Kim Rok Soo warbles, unable to ask why the century old teenager is staring. Is something the matter? He's still hungry.

When Choi Han doesn't move Kim Rok Soo points at the monster with a paw.

He wants more.

Choi Han gapes, astonished, but Kim Rok Soo gets off his leg and sits patiently to his side, waiting. If he is going to take care of a baby, he should do it all the way. Of course, once Kim Rok Soo gathers his strength, he'll guide Choi Han to Harris Village and let them heal his heart. He has to leave to get some powers that he is interested in to make him moderately strong.

Choi Han cuts out another square of meat and offers it to Kim Rok Soo, only to receive a blank stare. Don't just offer it to me, feed it to me. Babies shouldn't eat by themselves, they're too weak.

The wine-red baby opens his mouth. Choi Han's mouth breaks into a small smile. He places the square of meat onto the baby monsters tongue and watches in fascination as it swallows without chewing this time.

They repeat this until Kim Rok Soo burps, lazily blinking. Being a baby is better than he thought it'd be, even if the food isn't great. He can swallow it quickly though, so he reasons that being a monster right now isn't so bad because he doesn't have to suffer through eating tough, bloody meat.

He taps his tail on the ground, like ringing up customer service.

Isn't he taking advantage of the twisted protagonist too much? Kim Rok Soo should hurry and deliver him to Harris Village as repayment.

Choi Han is quick to bring the baby monster up to his chest, wrapping the monster fur around it again. When he strokes the bumpy head, it feels warmer than when he first held it. Despite being here for so long, he doesn't know how a baby monster grows or is raised. Do they normally get warmer the more they eat?

He should feed it frequently, so that it doesn't get cold.

TCF Headcanon/Theory - Cale and Rok Soo, Two That Were Once One

The story starts with the Red Dragon. After the Red Dragon passed away, the soul was reincarnated over and over across different worlds as a natural part of the life cycle. Until one reincarnation, the said soul split into two when they were born as twins. Ever since then, one soul became two, and the reincarnation cycle continues. Many years and many reincarnations later, finally, those two souls found their way back to the world of the Red Dragon. Both of them were supposed to be born in the same year or even the same day. But the tragedy struck again. The White Star, Cale Barrow stole the birth of one soul, pushing it out to reincarnate in its supposed body. The said soul, naturally got reincarnated in another world as Kim Rok Soo. Meanwhile, its twin was born as Cale Henituse.

Due to the White Star's contact with Kim Rok Soo's soul, a part of his curse affects Kim Rok Soo. However, it wasn't just him being affected by it. His twin soul, Cale Henituse also affected by it. Think about it, the future that the forty-year-old Original Cale Henituse told us. He also is the sole survivor among the people that he cherishes. Doesn't the parallel and the similarity hit a bit too close? Maybe that's why the switch went so smoothly.

Anyway, that is my headcanon. I personally don't like the ‘Kim Rok Soo is Cale Henituse’ as in Kim Rok Soo is his 2nd life AU. I consider Original Cale Henituse and Original Kim Rok Soo to be two different individuals. They are similar in some aspects but also very different in others. However, sometimes I feel like their roots are a bit too similar, and their connection runs a bit too deep than merely soul-swapping partners. Hence this headcanon was born. (I also like the Cale is the reincarnation of the Red Dragon and Twin Cale AU so…)

Omg and also if he was the red dragon I can't help but think of the connection between Instant and Raon's attribute. Being the present. Both time related. Record too.

Oh my god what if his attribute is time itself? Record, which you can use to look back on the past, and even predict the future, and Instant, which temporarily basically slows the present so you can linger longer. I might be rambling here but it's worth noting probably that krs' abilities and Raon's correlate with the theme of time.

Also, since dragons are creatures that are closest to nature, that could also play into why he so easily gets ancient powers and befriends literally every species you can think of on the continent, aside from yknow, the fact that he read the novel and everything plus his natural charisma. Maybe the charisma is also because he has the soul of a dragon- ahhhh thats enough rambling now TwT

I'm not sure who said it first, but the theory that krs is the red dragon has been on my mind for days now

And it would make so much sense if that was the case

Like what's a better twist than finding out the man who ended the white stars bullshit is also the same being who was used to start it all?

And the fact that krs was able to be affected by white stars curse is so much worse now

Imagine sherrit finding out her child was hurt by the same thing she created to protect him 😭

This also places immense suspicion on the god of death, i mean it never made sense to me that the white star was just able to "pass his curse around" like a sickly virus just because he stole someones body. It sounds more plausible to me that the god of death never added the rule "this curse cannot affect anybody else" and then used it as a loophole to curse KRS.

The curse was a punishment for an oath only dragon slayers have made, what the hell could be more targeted and specific than that??? And now you're telling me this random guy from raon has to live with it in korea cuz the white star took his body before that soul got to inhabit it??

The only person who can break a curse is the one who made the curse and the person who wanted it to be made (in this case the GoD and Sherrit)

And in the sealed test choi jung gun says "the god of death is trying to hold the curse back from affecting you"

Excuse me??? He can't dispel his own curse?? I don't believe that at all. Also krs had nothing to do with the white star since he was born, so why is it impossible to remove him from the effects of it?? The god of death had about 36 years to figure out how to make it go away, and he just couldn't?? I smell bullshit

Sherrit also said that the red egg was affecting it's surroundings before it was born, the dragon inside would've been powerful to extents she probably couldn't even comprehend

It makes more sense to me if the GoD just wanted to get rid of any competition/ "wrench in his plans" and used the excuse of protecting sherrits children to create the perfect scenario to take out 2 birds with one stone

GoD does seem kinda stupid when we see him but it's always the mfs with that kind of act that are the most suspicious, also he literally became a god?? If he can do that, then he's more than capable of setting up some kind of intricate plan to get what he wants

Anywho, there's also other things I've noticed:

1) never accepting park jin tae as king until he proved himself, krs has never submitted to anyone without a valid reason for doing so. Which would seem kinda weird cuz he spent 90% of his upbringing being beaten into submission. I've only ever seen an attitude like that in dragons or just stronger creatures in general (coincidence? I think not)

2) this has been stated before but his affinity with dragons is crazy + he's constantly being mistaken for one 😭

3) the GoD called krs a mutant, we don't know why yet but being a human with the soul of a dragon is a pretty valid reason to call someone a mutant. (Especially if that mutant was able to activate a small % of its attribute)

4) i don't have anything to back this up with, but instant being his attribute instead of a power he got on earth would be pretty cool, just using it for a little bit is enough to injure him because it's meant to be used by a dragon as powerful as the Red one.

Everyone overthinking things, while the other dragons take a look closer and widden their eyes when they see what Raon mean, but.. 'how is that possible?'

Cale cuckles and look at him fondly, "Well maybe because I'm expecting."

Raon: Huh? Expecting? Expecting what?

Beastman is kind of sensitive about things like this so Hong perk up when some weird reason his brain come to this conclusion

Hong: Oh! Is it a baby? Are you expecting a baby?

Cale ruffling his hair, "Yes, yes I am. It's already four months." Said him before winked at him

On gasp and Raon look confused and Hong explain to him that there is a baby inside his tummy

Roan look surprised but also excited for some reason

Raon: Wait! Really? So what I smell and feel from you is the baby? There is a baby inside your tummy? How though?

Cale: That is something you can learn when you're older *bop his nose*

TBOAH!Cale: What?! What do you mean a baby??? I- you're pregnant?? How?!?!??

LCF!Cale and OG!Cale blue screened so bad I think their brains got rebooted while OG!KRS frozen like a statue with wide eyes and slightly open mouthed

three part series that in my au will replace the events of kr focusing on the red dragon as the main villains instead of any titans.

part 1 will focus on the lin kuei and the effects of their partnership with the red dragon on earthrealm. mavado and his men are supplying the lin kuei with smuggled tech and trafficked human test subjects for their cyber initiative and it is up to earthrealms champions to put a stop to it part 2 will focus on edenians and humans having gone missing thanks to nitara having employed mavado and his men to bring them to her for vaeturnus's human breeding ground. outworlds forces, including kitana, mileena, li mei, will need to put an end to the kidnapping of their citizens part 3 will focus on syzoth leading a small taskforce onto shang tsungs island to rescue the zaterrans that mavado and his men have brought to shang tsungs island for experimentation.

shao and his men have managed to capture some of the most important people in mileenas life, kitana and tanya. with general kotals men spread thin trying to keep the rebellion at bay across all of outworld, mileena has very few options to aid her in saving them, forcing her to reluctantly turn to the only person she knows who would be powerful enough to help her: rain

syzoth and ashrah grow to disagree with how much ashrah is allowing datusha to influence her and her choices, but the argument goes unresolved as syzoth gets kidnapped to vaeturnus before they can talk things over.

mileenas soul gets stolen from her body and taken to the netherrealm. a team comprised of ashrah, sareena, syzoth, and tanya must travel to nekros in order to retrieve it

Dodam being obsessed over Cale and trying to fight Raon for him, leading to lots of crying, kicking and screaming, involving a lot of blowing things up. And then at last Cale does manage to pacify him but that doesn't mean he is going back with dodam

Dodam was going to be alone - so alone, just like always. This human was a bleak ray of sunlight, a beacon of hope in his dark and miserable life, someone Dodam thought of as his but as it turned out, the terrible bastard ( who wasn't so terrible anymore) was not his at all, he belonged to another version of himself who seemed to be living a life completely different compared to his own.Where Dodam had barely met this human for weeks, Raon had him for years

They looked close, so close as if there was no space for dodam in the human's heart. He wondered briefly if he should be glad that he wasn't named Raon just like this dragon whom he loathed so much, with every fiber of his being for stealing the terrible bastard away from him, for stealing all the love, affection and warmth that could've been dodam's had it not been for Raon.

When Dodam leaves, he does so with a resolute expression as if he never had any hopes of taking Cale back with him. He smiled despite all the storms raging inside him bcoz that made the weak bastard happy. He smiled when dodam smiled and it was the second  most beautiful thing the little dragon had seen since he had been freed from his cage

He wanted the weak bastard to hug him one last time, before he went back. Dodam craved the warmth that was freely showered over his other self without restraint. But he did not ask for a hug. He knew he would never end up leaving if he was engulfed in that warmth once again.

He won't be able to part with it, with his weak and not- so wicked bastard, with his (Raon called him papa...did that make the human his papa too?) 

So he didn't look back as he went. Didnt look back at his other self, surely gloating at his victory, didnt look back at his papa terrible bastard or his siblings or Choi Han and disappeared in a whirl of dust. No one would miss him here.They already had one black dragon, who was so much more powerful than himself. Fighting with him just drove the fact home that Dodam was a weakling, nowhere near as strong as his other self.

He finds a krs who hadn't read tboah and is freshly grieving the death of his hyungs in his world. Dodam doesn't know how he knows, but he is 100% sure that this person was his terrible bastard, his human, his- Well, they could establish relations later on. 

Dodam also knows this human is even more fragile than his terrible bastard and the thought calms him down. Somewhat. Now both of them, Dodam and this human, were similar. So weak yet bullheaded enough to not give up. Dodam saw how the weak human maneuvered his way through life, lying and scamming like the terrible bastard and yet not so proficient like his other self. Dodam felt secure in the knowledge that they could learn and grow up together. That this human wont leave him like the other one. This human wouldn't have any expectations from Dodam either. He hadn't met Raon and the thought brought him unexpected joy. Both of them had flaws but they also had each other. 

+1 Dodam falling in love with red bcoz of Cale and then reverting back to his "black is the best" belief bcoz now both him and his papa have black coloring. And choi han too. Dodam thinks he has a real family now. 

+2 Dodam and Rok Soo running away after a failed attempt at scamming with hordes of people after them with pitchforks and swords lmfao. They aren't as adept as their other selves at this scamming business but they vowed to get better at it.

(Choi Han left them alone for 10 mins. And later, when he came back, he had to fight hordes of people who were after his husband and child-)

Have you guys ever imagined a scenario where G.O.D. never isekaied Choi han and there is no monsters roaming around in korea and there is no white star and Kim Rok soo wasn't affected by WS curse???? Do think the Soo's will ever meet up to each other?? Will KRS finally go to college? Will Raon be living with his older brother (red dragon)? Cale would be living with his mum?and lily would never existed.

I like this one the most out of all the wine red variations because it's a little dark, a little purple, a little dull, but it's still red. All things that make it fit into krs's character. If you look, he isn't all dark, he isn't purple, he's not completely dull, but you can't say that he's definitely red either. Your first instinct is red, yes, but you look back at real red and it doesn't quite fit that box too. A special color just for him.

Dragon krs idea- this is before the start of the novel and before Choi Han reaches Harris Village.

He's warm. What had once been the neutral temperature of his house as he drifted to sleep, after reading the novel The Birth of a Hero, became a warm, wet blanket. It wrapped around him slickly. It feels uncomfortable.

That isn't good. Not knowing something isn't good. The wet was suffocating and he stretched out his hand to find the end of the blanket.

Kim Rok Soo shakes abruptly. He frowns, but finds that his face feels strange. His limbs are cramped in a tight space, but the walls begin to give way under his squirming. He shrugs his shoulders, butting his head forward, kicking with his legs.

The wall which is also wet and slippery cracks under his arms and he pushes up with his feet.

His nose breaks into the cold air. Kim Rok Soo breathes, opening his eyes to a dark expanse above him, the stars looming above him. Except the stars aren't the same as he remembers. And he feels strange, in a foreign body.

He looks down to see what are clawed, red paws, and the remains of a wine-red shell. Whatever he had been thinking was happening... it wasn't this. Was it because of his nature, or the environment he grew up in? He didn't bother to think any further about his body when he still didn't know what was around him.

He was in a forest, regular as any that he'd seen before in Korea. Minus the wavering motions of something in the air. It was an odd, instinctive feeling, rather than something he could see.

It told him that something was approaching.

Without any time to think further Kim Rok Soo scampered over the broken remains of his egg and stumbled with chubby little paws over to a bush. Unfortunately for him, he appeared to only be the size of a small dog, or a medium sized cat. His senses expanded naturally to feel across the forest floor and towards what was approaching.

A bear-like creature-- with purple fur, 4 extra limbs, and long horns trailing down its back and a long tail-- emerged from the growth and quickly went to sniffing his egg shell. Then, Kim Rok Soo's heart dropped, it looked directly at his position in the bush. Well, that isn't good.

Kim Rok Soo jumped out of the bush right as the bear leaped forward powerfully. Moving quickly he loops around a tree right as the bear slams into it and hides in the monsters blind spot, instinctively using the strange movement he sensed in the air before to turn the attention of the bear away from him.

It must only work to confuse the bear because while it doesn't follow the motion, it struggles to catch a whiff of Kim Rok Soo again. He skillfully uses his paws to silently move behind and away from the bears line of sight. It must not have very good hearing, and it ambles around, disoriented. In a moment of instinct alone, he uses something to prevent the grass from making any noise, too.

Kim Rok Soo is panicking about how to escape the bear when a black line suddenly appears in his line of sight, and it pierces the bears skull out of nowhere.

The beast slowly falls over, dead.

The black line moved so fast that not even Kim Rok Soo saw it. His red paws tremble. He looks at the felled bear, revealing a small tree branch embedded in its head, bleeding steadily from the fatal injury.

...

Kim Rok Soo stiffly looks around him. Is he going to end up being a snack for whatever killed that bear? The bear has enough meat doesn't it? Can't it leave him alone? He was just born.

Unexpectedly it isn't a monster but a boy, a teenager, that emerges from the trees and stares at Kim Rok Soo. He's wearing makeshift clothes and holding a rusty knife. Kim Rok Soo shudders. Can he escape from this guy? Then the teenager notices the egg shell on the ground and looks back at Kim Rok Soo.

"You..." he speaks in Korean. "You're just a baby." The Korean teenager lowers his eyes. "I can't kill a baby."

Insulted, Kim Rok Soo opens his mouth to argue. He's 36 years old. He isn't even close to being a baby!

The teenager looks at the wine red dragon blankly. The brief emotion in his eyes falls away like an illusion, and he anxiously taps his knife with a restless finger.

...

Kim Rok Soo sees the dead bear out of the corner of his eye.

Actually, being a baby isn't so bad. This guy looks strong, let's piggy back off of his strength and get a free ride out of this forest.

With his mind set, Kim Rok Soo sits his bum on the ground and curls his tail around his waist to sit on his paws, not the floor. It's comfortable. Should he try to be cute or something?

He yawns, tired from running around immediately after waking up from the egg. This is annoying. If the teenager doesn't take him in, won't he have to survive out here on his own? He doesn't know if the monsters here are edible.

Unbeknownst to him, Kim Rok Soo just displayed behaviors identical to those of a cat.

His eyes closed from yawning, Kim Rok Soo opens them to find the teenager crouching directly in front of him.

Way too scary!

"You aren't trying to attack me. You... is it because you're a baby?"

Kim Rok Soo tilts his head. Does this guy expect a baby to respond to him?

Choi Han swallows. In this place... maybe he can have a friend? It has wings, maybe he could teach it to lead him to people like him.

Choi Han stiffly opens his arms, keeping the knife positioned outward, and though his blank expression is unnerving Kim Rok Soo is tired and hungry, so he yawns again and steps closer. It couldn't be too dangerous, right? The teenager carefully wraps his arms around the small, wine red dragon, lifting it up and holding it as if it were a human baby.

Briefly, Kim Rok Soo wonders if the teenager can properly fight if he's holding something, but he decides to not worry about it. If a dangerous creature comes again like the bear, he's sure the teenager would throw him away or something.

Kim Rok Soo tucks his chin into the teenagers neck and shoulder, appreciating the warmth, and slips into a light sleep. Choi Han strokes the baby dragons back. The scales are slightly chilly. Faintly, Choi Han senses a deep strength within this creature.

Maybe it would be better to kill it young.

Kim Rok Soo sleeps, unaware of the rising killing intent.

Choi Han shifts the baby to one arm and taps his knife handle with the other. He should get it some food. It's a baby, so it'll be hungry. It should be fine without milk, right?
