this has been said before but it is so funny that kim dokja spends 13 years reading about yoo joonghyuk and centers his life around him and spends every waking moment going god i wish i was yoo joonghyuk and then kim dokja meets yoo joonghyuk and immediately starts bullying the shit out of him

kim dokja trying so fucking hard to convey his love for that story and its characters and its so incredibly difficult. hes trying so hard. and his companions can see a bit of his work. and the world at large can see a bit of his work. and yoo joonghyuk can see a bit of his work. and yoo sangah can see a bit (or more, really) of his work. but at the end, on his birthday, he sees han sooyoung, who stood up for him, who understands him, whos an author, who knows his love for that story from the other end and wants to ask her: tell me i did good until now.

just thinking about the acceptance on their faces. something bittersweetly relieving about having their suffering finally be over, at least in the presence of the one they loved. even if they couldn't get what they hoped for, even if they could only have the other close for a brief moment, even if the circumstances aren't right and never could be. when you feel as if you've lost it all, even the slightest thing is enough.

it’s hard to tell what ivan’s true intentions were, but above all else i believe that he did what he did during r6 because he was SURE that till wouldn’t care.
that’s why it’s so heartbreaking to me that the memory of ivan is clearly a TRIGGER for till in r7
remember? ivan criticized sua because her eventual death would only traumatize mizi. that’s why he kept himself at arms length from till — because he never wanted to become a source of trauma for him. as much as he craved till’s affection, he didn’t want to hold till back.
but ivan didn’t account for till’s real feelings. till — while it was not in a romantic sense — cared for ivan more than ivan was lead to believe.
and just like sua was for mizi, he’s nothing but a source of trauma for till. he became something luka used to exploit.
and it’s genuinely so heartbreaking because that was the last thing that ivan wanted.

Love how frustrated Raon got when the baby snake called Cale 'Daddy' because he himself has only called Cale 'Human' in the three years they've known each other and called him by his name only twice over the course of said three years yet this kid that was born yesterday suddenly comes out of nowhere and calls his human daddy when he himself hasn't called him daddy but he also doesn't want to admit he thinks of his human as his daddy because he's a tsundere but he also can't tolerate someone else other than himself or his hyung or noona calling this weak human as daddy so he must make it a point to the baby snake to not call his human daddy because he needs to be the first (or second or third but not fourth) to call his human daddy does that make sense—

i just know I'd have hated his guts
in another life i really wouldve loved blocking kim dokja on tumblr for sidelining female characters in order to focus on male characters instead
#i agree with all the tags#i would be first in his asks being a complete bitch to him about it and then he'd get blocked#I'd especially hate to be in the same famdom as him istg

so many ways a character can be dog-coded. stray following someone home and begging for scraps. old and needs to be put out of its misery. attack dog. guard dog. lap dog. puppy that pees on the carpet from excitement. shelter dog just happy to finally have feet to curl up on. unsocialized that bites anyone trying to show kindness. silly goofy puddle monster. obedient until the leash comes off

Duke Fredo is so real for this, all of Cale's parent figures should be applauded for their efforts
Like Cale, dear, where did you get the audacity to look surprised at a correct observation like that

Not sure who has talked about it yet (prbly everybody) but I love how Cale was a bit more capable of letting people from Roan in than in Korea as TL.
Like he seems like the same person, and he is, but it's visibly easier to get close to him from the perspective of Choi Han, the Molans, everybody. And I love that the reason is because they, to Cale's knowledge, had nobody. Choi Han has nobody from Korea or Harris, the children have no parents, neither do the wolves, the Molans lost their home, Rosalyn left her home and faced assassins, Alberu was scorned his whole life, and the list goes on.
It's pointed out that he tried to distance himself from the members of his Team after he became leader because they all had families and he did not. And that he, Choi Jung Soo, and Lee Soo Hyuk became close because they were people who already lost everybody. Then those people died, and he couldn't do it again.
Then he arrives in a world, surrounded by people who lost their parents, their homes, their whole worlds, and.
There is no family they have to go home to. So. Couldn't he help them have that? So he doesn't push them to leave, he just grumbles.
And I love how it's awkward for him (at first) to interact with the Henituse family. Not just because they were supposed to know Cale better than anyone else, but also that they were already their own family and he had to consider if he should be there at all, both as an 'outsider' and as 'Cale the Trash'. But then the Henituse household does that thing where they look at him, and no matter who they see past the eyes, it's a member of their own ranks. So even if they knew from the beginning about it or not, whether there is somebody else there or if a person truly chose change, this person is in their family and he is welcome in their house. Especially after all he's done, they have to chain him down somehow so he doesn't kill himself like a moron.
Anyway, I went back a couple of arcs to reread and catch up on part 2 cuz I haven't gone past Murim yet, how are u guys doin

Who is the likeliest of the children averaging 10 years old to call Cale Dad first?
Hong. It's Hong. No questions asked. I'd be actually very surprised if it's not him.
Raon is too prideful to admit he thinks of this human as his daddy. He listens to Cale well but notice how he has never put a label on their relationship. Cale has never called himself Raon's guardian in front of Raon either (cmiiw). We don't really know what Raon thinks of Cale as.
Ohn is a similar case. She's the oldest of the three and mature for her age. She would not call this frail looking dude who's hardly a decade older than her as dad. Plus, she remembers her parents. She might find it hard to call someone else as dad.
Hong is definitely the likeliest to do it first because he doesn't sweat the details. He also might not have as clear memories of his parents as his sister. So he wouldn't think too much about it before calling Cale dad.
