CRIMINAL we got barely any yoo mia and shin yoosoung + lee gilyoung interactions btw. they all spend most of their stories being abandoned by their respective father figures and subsequently being raised by the rest of kimcom, spending their childhoods in an apocalyptic nightmare. its crazy we never got to see them bond over it or explore their similarities. also there should have been a reverse parent trap arc where they team up to make kim dokja and yoo joonghyuuk get a divorce but realise over the course of the story that they actually like having each other as siblings and maybe that ugly squid/sooty bastard isn't so bad after all. theyre basically begging for it!

Sometimes when I read ORV fics I get slapped in the face by the realization that Kim Dokja and I are so terrifyingly similar. Like obviously I know Kim Dokja was written in a way to relate to people who use reading as a way of survival but this line specifically reminded me just how similar our experiences are when it comes to reading as a form of escapism.

I can’t read x reader because theres too much me in it LMAO I’ve even told my friends in the past, who asked me why I like reading such specific stories, that I like to read stories that make me forget I exist. I like to get so lost in reading, so lost in the character I’m reading for that I feel like I BECOME that character, rather than myself (definitely also reminiscent of i am yoo joonghyuk).

I think Kim Dokja is the closest I’ve come to reading a story that actually feels like theres a bit of “me” in it. Despite its fantastical nature, I just can’t help but see myself in Dokja and all that he does for the people he loves—and all that he doesn’t do for himself.
