     My mind raced through all the preposterous coincidences that landed my violin in his hands. I wouldn't admit how relieved it made me, knowing it wasn't some creep that would break it. Now to get it back.... I decided it would be best to kill two birds with one stone and headed home, waiting for the sunset.

     Admittedly, it was a long day, I paced my apartment several times before giving up and sitting on the couch, petting the nagging kitty. Checking my watch what seemed like every few seconds. But finally, after a well needed nap and another cup of tea, the sun rested under the blanket of mountains surrounding the horizon, putting my plan in motion.

     I headed straight for the court yard, strapping on my fox mask in an ally that hugged the corner of the massive stadium. It was easy to get in, and once I broke into the gaurds office and hacked the computer, alearting my presence via security camera, I headed into the desolate open field. While I waited for golden boy I took back the piece of equipment that I had tried to steal before. Shoving it into my backpack.

     I remembered back to that day. Disastrous is the word I would of used, while it hadn't been the first time I had stolen something. It was the first time they had sent in a super to stop me. He wasn't what I was expecting either. instead of some buff guy in a bright outfit, I was given a slim well shaped man in a simple white shirt with a thick black 'P' on the front. He had seemed so cool with the situation, using complements to sneak up on me, getting just close enough to play with the corners of my mask. Just thinking about it made my hidden face a bright red. Embarrassing, that's what I had been. And yet, the smooth talker had left me running.

     "Second time here, if I wasn't misteaken I'd say you missed me. You know you don't have to break into places to get me to pleasure myself in your company. " he cooed, taking long steps towards me.

    I took a step back, making him hault, an amused smile lining his features."You have my violin, I want it back. " I said flatly. Folding my arms in front of my chest.

     "Do I now? " he teased, taking a smaller step towards me. I held my ground.

     "Don't test me" I growled. Trying to sound intimidating, my heart vibrating out of my chest.

     "You know you enjoy it, " he purred, taking another small step in my direction. "Why the mask? or do you like my ripping it off of you, like last time-"

     "Violin! " I squeaked, cutting him off, my heart reaching what must of been dangerous speeds. He gave a light chuckle, enjoying my flustered state.

     "Ah yes, " he tilted his head to the side, as if getting a different view of me, "I think I remember seeing it around, some forgetful thing left it on the bus. " his smile grew. He took another little step, slowly getting closer and closer.

     "You really shouldn't play, you don't even know what I'm capable of" I warned. Still holding my spot that was growing smaller by the second.

     "I'd love for you to show me, " he said, his voice barely above a whisper. I could hear my heart now, ringing in my ears, I mentally thanked the beauty of a mask, and all it hid.

     "Speaking of, do you happen to know what I'm capable of? " the curiosity flowed off of him, his playful smirk resting on his face, perfectly.

     "I-i" my brow furrowed, no. I had no idea, he was called Pulse, but that could mean a hundred different things. His hands fingered the rim of my mask. I went rigid.

     He leaned in, just a little. "I can detect heartbeats. " he whispered, his hands gently lifting off my mask, revealing my beat red face. I just stared. "And yours, " his left hand moved, lingering on my neck, gingerly gliding his thumb in small circles over my skin. Still stiff, I resisted the temptation to lean into the touch. "Is singing to me" he hummed, closing his eyes a moment, as if soaking up the sound.

     I swallowed, taking in shallow breaths. Trying desperately to calm my heart down, without much success. He just stayed there, quietly massaging my neck with his thumb. I locked eyes with his, drowning in his touch, I made a ditch attempt to save myself. seeping into his thoughts, his feelings. I focused my attention on his senses, it's burning you, touching her is burning you, burning your fingertips, it's hot, uncomfortable. I watched as he stilled, his previous amusement melting into confusion and concern, he pulled away. His smile faultering as his right hand still gripped my mask.

     I sucked in a breath, staggering backwards, desperately trying to compose myself. A small smile peeking on my face.

      His paused a moment longer, staring at me before his face bloomed in realization and dare I saw awe. "Oh dearest, your every move fascinates me more than the last"

     I stared at him for a second, his words circling my thoughts. "Oh you must stop! " I said, my smile growing. "And I really want my violin back! " I said before he could interject.

     "How about a deal? "

     I lifted an eyebrow

     "You give back the tech your currently trying to steal, " he paused, giving me a sly look before continueing "and, you let me buy you dinner. "

     I gawked at him, the red on my cheeks lighting up like fire. He twirled the mask in his hands, waiting patiently for a response.

     "Where? "

     His smirk broke, a shy blush replacing his carved features "well... I was hoping... I have a piano.... And... "

     I watched him trip over his words, a rare sight. It made me smile, just a little. I shifted from one foot to the other, watching and waiting for him to spit out what I already knew he would ask.

     "Maybe we could go to my house? "

     "You need the tech back still? " I grumbled

"If you don't mind" he stated dramatically. The apprehension leaving him slightly.

     I pulled off my pack and took out the circuit board I had taken, and begrudgingly handed it to him. "I want my mask back, and your not picking me up at my house"

     His face lit up, "then how about I pick you up here? Tomorrow at 7? " he took a long step towards me, "and this time, you arnt aloud to take off my hat" with that, he leaned in and pressed his lips gently on mine, hovering for a second, before pulling away. Shoving the mask Into my hands and walking away. Leaving me paralized in the middle of a now empty field.

There wasn't much Severus could do but let the man bandage him, he knew that. But he stared as those knobby hands pushed his robes higher than was necessary and he stared as those excited eyes traced the way up his thighs. Suppressing a shudder, Severus distracted the predator by lashing out, "Blasted thing, how are you supposed to keep your eyes on all three heads at once?"

“POTTER!”

He gulped when Filch smiled at this and trailed a hand up and through the cuts, deliberately applying pressure. Severus tried to keep his breathing even and put all his magic into his occlumency shields. Just as he got his bearings right, he realised that Potter was looking through the door.

His shields crashed down faster than Severus had taken into building them up. He didn't have time to analyse anything, just as Filch's hands had finally wormed their way into his pants, he watched Potter trying to shut the door like the sneaky little bastard he was, his glasses glinting from the direct light, but–

The gangly boy straightened and Severus' anger surfaced up. How could the boy disrespect him now? How dare he snoop and spy on Severus? He dropped his robes and watched as the boy tried to look apprehensive but all he saw was red. Little tricks did not work on Severus anymore. He knew Potter wanted to humiliate him with what he saw today.

“I just wondered if I could have my book back.”

Egoistic little bastard. Just because you wondered! No knocks, nothing. Just because you're a bloody Gryffindor and Potter. Dumbledore will always favor you and your three-

His senses were on high aleart once again, and he tried to find the others out of the corner.

As he watched him leave, Severus realised that this Potter only had two friends and he groaned in pain.

Some bad feelings on Scout's end, but the end it's fluffy.

Jeremy used to get deadnamed all the time by his so-called friends after he came out. He realizes now they probably weren't his friends, but he didn't know then. Still, anything relating to his deadnane brought back really bad memories.

Jenna. Who he used to be. Someone he hated.

Jenna, the reason why he was currently in his room, trying to quiet his sobs as not to aleart the team that something was wrong.

His dysphoria had been at an all-time high, as much as he tried not to let it show. He had a hard time looking at mirrors before, but when he got like this, he couldn't look at one without walking - or sometimes running - back to his room to curl up in bed and cry.

Despite being on T for years, he still saw himself as female sometimes. He had no idea that there were other trans mercs on the base until one of them knocked on his door to ask if he was okay.

"U-Uh," a quiet cough. "Yeah, I'm okay."

The other person could clearly recognise that he wasn't and came in anyway, closing the door behind them once he was in.

"Sniper, I said I was fine!"

"But you're clearly not, so tell me what's buggin' ya or you're goin' through respawn."

"You wouldn't get it."

"Try me."

Scout wiped his eyes and looked away.

"I've seen that look, mate. Lemme guess. Dysphoria?"

Scout looked up at Sniper in surprise.

"How did you know?"

"I'm trans too."

Scout was speechless. He didn't know there was another Merc like him.

"It's gonna be alright, Scoot. It nay not feel like it will be now, but it will be. I've had the same thing happen to me and even though it's nevah fun, it passes. You just gotta get through it."

A fresh wave of tears come rolling down Scout's face like a waterfall, sobs wretching their way up his throat only to come out choked.

"It's so hard, Snipes. I-It gets harder and harder each time a-and I'm not gonna be able to deal with it once it gets to a certain point-"

Scout is cut off by Sniper hugging him.

"Let it out, mate."

It's that phrase that finally gets Jeremy to break. Sobs and broken sentences fall from his mouth, seemingly non-stop tears fall from his eyes. Sniper rubs his back and comforts him as much as he can, before Scout relaxes.

"I feel like crap."

"Yeah, a good cry does that to ya. I'm goin' to grab a few things, I'll be right back."

Scout lays back in his bed and wipes at his eyes. Sniper returns quickly with a water bottle and a few plushies he borrowed from Pyro.

"I'm back. I gotcha a water bottle. Gotta replenish those liquids."

Sniper walks to Scout's bed and places the water bottle on the nightstand. He hands Scout the plushies as he sits up.

Scout hugs said plushies like they're the only thing keeping him on the Earth.

Sniper contemplates something for a moment.

"I haven't told you my name, have I?"

"Your deadname? No you don't need to tell me that"

"Nah I mean my actual name. It's Mundy."

"Mine's Jeremy."

"Nice choice, Jer."

Scout chuckles. "Thanks, Mun."

It goes quiet, but it's a comfortable silence, until Scout decides to ask Sniper something.

"Hey, Mun. Have you ever had.. like, a crush on someone on the base?"

Mundy nods. "Only one person."

"Me too. If you don't mind tellin' me, who is it?"

Mundy shifts so he's sitting fully on the bed.

"I'll give you some hints. They're a Bostonian who loves their Mum and brothers more than they'd admit under torture. They love baseball too, and they're always making witty comments on the battlefield."

Scout's eyes widen to the size of dinner plates and he flushes as he processes what Sniper says. He then decides to do something similar because he's just that smooth.

"I'll give you some hints to who mine is too. They're a tall Australian sharpshooter that throws jars of piss at people before killing them. They use a huge sword-looking thing to kill any Spies that sneak up on them and they have killed the enemy Heavy at least 22 times in one match."

Mundy pulls his hat over his face as his face turns beet red. Jeremy smiles.

"Awwww, you're all red! That's adorable."

"I am going to throw you out of the nearest window."

"It's okay, no need to be embarrassed. I do the same thing when I'm complimented."

Mundy puts his hat back on and moves so he's sitting next to Jeremy.

Jeremy leans on Mundy's shoulder.

"Goodnight, Bilby."

"'Bilby?'"

"Australian animal. Bilbies are actually called rabbit-bandicoots and I've been callin' ya Scoot since I got here. Rabbit-bandiScoot, Bilby, it just works."

"Ah yeah, that makes sense. What do I call you though?"

"Don't stress about it. You'll find the right pet name in time."

Jeremy yawns. "Alright. G'night, Mun."

"Goodnight, Bilby."

With that, Jeremy and Mundy fall asleep on each other. They're peaceful for once in their crazy, crazy lives.

Bonus:

"Men! Have any of you seen Scout and Sniper?"

"Last I saw zhe Bushman, he was in Scout's room."

Soldier walks (more like stomps) to Scout's room and bangs on the door.

"Men!! Get up! It's supper time!"

Mundy and Jeremy jolt awake, both emitting their respective shouts of surprise.

Soldier leaves and they both exit, Mundy going down a minute after Jeremy as not to arouse suspicion.

The team eats supper as a family, with Mundy and Jeremy sneaking glances at each other and cracking more jokes than usual. It was quite fun, considering how dinner usually went.
