Ok genuine and mildly upsetting question, for at least some of the surgeries large portions of the subjects' bodies are being removed and replaced (pretties get new teeth and their fat sucked out, iirc specials get entirely new muscles and bones) and the cities are very eco-conscious with a goal of recycling and not leaving much of a footprint on the planet so...... what are they doing with all that

I can't switch this part of my brain off now.
I was happily watching the trailer for The Heart Killers earlier this evening, not recognising any of the clothes and therefore hopeful that we'll be getting an 'original' costume design...and then I watched today's ep of Kidnap and as soon as I saw the trailer for ep 10 I knew I had just seen this lime green and white striped polo shirt 🤦🏽‍♀️

La tumba de los muertos vivientes (Oasis of the Zombies, 1982)
"Why are you burning the body?"
"You must burn it. Otherwise it comes back. Yes, we must burn the bodies of the damned. He had met the sentries who guard the great secret. They would have reclaimed him after his death."
#la tumba de los muertos vivientes#oasis of the zombies#horror imagery#gore tw#jess franco#jesús franco#ramón llidó#1982#video nasty#horror film#manuel gélin#eduardo fajardo#france lomay#jeff montgomery#myriam landson#antonio mayans#javier maiza#eric viellard#caroline audret#albino graziani#miguel ángel aristu#so in 1981 Franco started work on Zombie Lake‚ a euro nasty about undead nazis around a body of water (more on that when i eventually get a#quote for my post). he left the production in protest at the meagre budget and set to work on... this. film. about nazi zombies around a#body of water (and made on a meagre budget). whether he was trying to prove something or show someone up idk but the result is.. at least#marginally better than Zombie Lake. only just. it has better fx and better zombie makeup and a much prettier setting than that film#but that's about all. this still feels half arsed and shoddily made‚ including much recycling of footage for a lengthy ww2 flashback (in#which the character we're following is conspicuously never in shot with anyone else). it also limps into a very bleh ending that just sort#of happens as if Uncle Jess had simply run out of steam (he may well have). apparently there exists an alternate Spanish cut with#extra footage‚ stronger sex and violence and (most importantly) Franco's right hand arm Lina Romay but sadly this was unavailable to me#and depending on who you read may even be considered a lost film. so it goes. a mess of a thing but at least it's not Zombie Lake

Rethinking Our Disposable Culture: How to Spend Wisely and Sustainably in the 21st Century 🌍💚
As we delve deeper into the 21st century, our society stands at a crossroads. The path we've been on—characterized by a growing throwaway culture fueled by increased disposable income—is unsustainable. It's time to consider how we might turn the tide.
The Economics of Disposability
Disposable income has undoubtedly improved living standards for many. Yet, this financial flexibility has also led to an increase in disposable products, fast fashion, and rapidly obsolete technologies. This trend is economically beneficial in the short term but environmentally and socially detrimental in the long run. 📉🌎
Rethinking Consumption
To mitigate the impact of throwaway culture, a shift in consumer mentality is essential:
Value-Based Spending: Align your spending with your values. If sustainability matters to you, support brands that prioritize eco-friendly practices.
Invest in Repairability: Choose products designed for longevity and that can be easily repaired, reducing the need to buy new.
Community Engagement: Get involved in or start local initiatives that promote sustainable living, from community gardens to tool-sharing libraries.
Policy and Change
Policy change can also drive significant shifts. Advocating for regulations that require producers to be responsible for the lifecycle of their products can decrease the volume of waste generated.
By adjusting how we view and utilize our disposable income, we can combat the rise of throwaway culture. It's about creating a future where we value what we own, understand the true cost of disposability, and choose a sustainable path forward. 🌍💚
Each of these posts could be adapted for platforms like WordPress, Medium, and Tumblr, considering the audience's preferences and engagement styles on each. For WordPress and Medium, a more formal and informative tone can be used, while Tumblr allows for a more casual and direct conversation style, incorporating relevant images, gifs, and interactive elements to engage the readers effectively.

I love how we were all expected to go all in on paper straws, when Hemp plastic is biodegradable. Just one more example of conservative prohibitions holding us back as a species.

The capitalist notion of private property is based on Roman law, which recognized the right to abuse, or destroy your property as central to owning something. Most of us take this for granted. Of course I can throw away a shirt I don't like anymore. I can even smash my tv for fun. I don't have to take care of my home if I don't want to, it's just my problem, isn't it? I can dump anything I own into the trash. Grocery stores are allowed to throw away food that's still good. Fast fashion companies are allowed to burn their product to make room for the next season.
This is not universal. This is not the relationship most humans have had with the land, human infrastructure or human belongings.
Owning something has a very different meaning in many societies: owning means tending, being a guardian, being responsible of the well being of the object, land, building, anything.
This is a central piece of our culture we need to change. Try it out and see how it changes your relationship to your surroundings.

I FINISHED ALLLLLLLLL OF MY DISHES! ALL OF MY DISHES ARE ✨️ CLEAN! ✨️ And most of them are dry and put away except for the last load, which I'm letting air dry in my drying rack (preferred method, but I had multiple loads of dishes so I had to hand dry most of them). I also cleaned the sink, counters, cutting boards that sit on my counters, stovetop, microwave buttons, and table; and I swept and Swiffered the floor! My kitchen is SO USEABLE, and actually CLEAN! I even replaced the sponge with a new one. And I'm about to take out the garbage. This is SUCH a fucking weight off my shoulders, holy shit. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

actually fr it really does drive me crazy when people act like climate change is irreversible and honestly even if it were a lot of the time ppl use that as a reason to actively make the environment worse by not even considering making an effort and actively discouraging others from making an effort and i just think it’s extremely irresponsible to spread the narrative that the planet is dying so we shouldn’t try anyway like holy fuck we should actually try anyway
