it’s driving me up the wall that the statement “trans women, notably those in the public eye, are frequently the target of transphobic harassment campaigns, so perhaps take a moment to check the source before you spread any callouts or accusations to make sure you’re not falling for TERF or kiwifarms misinformation” is now being misused by some to mean “if you ever see a trans woman with a big platform say something loaded/bigoted/openly hateful of her own free volition to her whole audience with her full chest, you’re not ever allowed to confront her about this or you’re personally responsible for every hate comment or harassment she receives ever” like it’s SO insidious to tell marginalised people they should shut up and take it. full offence, that musician is a grown woman who willingly puts her opinions on a public blog with her name attached, nobody was holding a gun to her head demanding she made those dumbass comments, and acting like she’s too frail to take accountability for what she does or shouldn’t be expected to learn that actions have consequences is laughable. yes people are now taking it too far but this happens every time, bc some people are just as immature AND bc bad faith parties love taking advantage of situations like this to instigate even more shit. again, insisting marginalised groups should let some big name individual be bigoted to them to protect her from harassment or else be blamed for it is so unbelievably entitled. the same thing goes for that “people just use accusations of racism against trans women to be transmisogynistic” post, these people need a reality check and realise they’re not the only victims in existence.

I wanna be clear that I have no idea what's going on with Patricia Taxxon. She blocked me awhile ago and aside from seeing her post about transandrophobia and knowing someone made a parody comic about her that I didn't like primarily for the phrase "born female,"* I don't really know about the situation around her as it stands because I don't keep track of random radfems.

As this first anon said, a popular musician using their platform to be horrible to another marginalized group should get sprayed with water like a cat and the fact that she's a bigot be on the record. Weaponizing old nudes or dragging up old accusations of things, however, is bad and should not be done. It's just not a thing you should be doing to someone, no matter how much you think they deserve it.

There are a lot of White women saying things like "trans women get accused of racism to deflect accusations of transmisogyny." It's annoying that people acting in bad faith are giving fuel to the fire that any criticism of trans women is inherently transmisogyny. She's never going to connect the dots between "people are upset with the things I said" and "I said extremely harmful and hurtful things" if her victim complex is being validated. It's also going to encourage them to continue harassing and spreading shit about me, and possibly escalate to digging up past stuff to call me out on, because I guarantee you eventually one of them is going to say something like "so karmic of this to happen to Velvet after she reblogged all those posts accusing Emily Programmersocks of sacrificing children to Satan" as though that's a thing that's ever happened.

Stop harassing her, if that is indeed what's happening, because, again, I do not keep track of the latest events in TRF World.

im gonna start posting fanfic recs btw whenever i find good ones. both here and my (awfully barren) 18+ account. because there are so many good fics out there with so few hits and fewer kudos and sometimes no comments period and it SUCKS because i REALLY LIKE THEM A LOT.. and i hope that by linking them here and yelling at everyone to COMMENT DAMMIT they might actually do it

seriously though any comment means a lot. most people who read a fic don’t even give a kudos. even if the fic wasn’t top tier, if you didn’t dislike it, hand over some kudos!! and if you liked it, comment!!!! even if the comment is one singular heart emoji it will be appreciated. if the comment just says “great fic!” the author will be happy. your comment doesn’t have to be this long winded gushing or analysis.

so many authors quit writing or lose motivation because the comments are few and far in between or just sometimes nonexistent. trust me when i say authors don’t care about how long or cool or smart sounding your comment is i promise!!!

then i guess you're not really aware with how this app works. tumblr is a reblogging site. that's the only way posts, or in this case fics, can get around and reach new audiences. the algorithm doesn't care aboit likes. tumblr doesn't care about comments (but i appreciate those as well!!)

I think I mentioned a while back I'd post nibling frog momence after the gift's done given. which happened on the 2nd this month I just forgot lmao. anyways we can do it now. I used the boigameista pattern scaled up to four pieces of A4 print paper and decided to double deck it to a two layer thing, not unlike a pillow, for ease of washin. because it was gonna be gifted to a one year old child

took a long time and made a number of mistakes bc hand sewing makes me worse as a person but this guy was done in time for the birthday occasion and that's what matters. chose non-fuzzy fabrics for it because we live in a dense city in the tropics and from personal experience if I hug something made of fur I would explode. the original plan included felt patterns on its back for bonus textures for baby but that wouldn't stretch well along with the rest of the thing so had to hold that back. eventually we got this

zipper across its ass, the coat type of zipper bc I miscalculated when ordering. but it did have a shape and that's all that matters to me. will be a fun game for the baby to grow up and be severely misinformed about what a frog looks like

then the pretty much universal application of saigon? whether you hear it like the transition into normal life of coming back from a holiday or facing uncomfortable emotions (and how sometimes being in a new place helps you do that) or a story the process of recovering from something a lot more all-encompassing than the kind of burnout that gets better after a week away. whatever it means to lay underwater. whatever it means to try to revive. to decline and rewind. board up the windows. it could be explaining a lot of things. and so could motion. modern life is fast and it’s easy to not be present and did I mention the great danceable beats and catchy riffs in both of these songs? maybe it hits more personally because you’ve lived a particularly intense few years, with or without your consent. or the way you perceive the world makes it seem like that. or being lost in your mind means one of many things. whatever reason you took a walk in the neighbourhood. whatever reason you’re searching for a miracle. however all these things tie together in your life.

there’s a thousand interpretations here, some everyday and some quite morbid and severe, and people with more privileged or more stigmatised experiences can come together and be touched. but we all long for connection, of some kind, and sometimes (rightfully or not) have times where we beat ourselves up for ruining it and have to either apologise and hope for reconciliation or deal with the feeling privately. derealisation amidst lots of change isn’t something most people have experienced but ‘I’m so apathetic it’s pathetic but I need you now’ is relatable to most of us. whether it’s caring more than your body can handle tipping into depression or some other reason, whether it’s a constant emptiness only one person can fill, you remember little details about them. you see yourself in the worst light for a moment or longer, whether because of masking or social media or trouble communicating or opening up ‘I’m nothing but a fake’ is a thought had by many. then being able to process it and have such gratitude for a connection that even when they’re gone you conclude ‘you’ll always have a place in me’. that’s something I that’s relatable to some, aspirational to many. it doesn’t feel too far off in the story of the song.

escapism. nostalgia. is it the comfort of a private space where you can be fully yourself and take off the uncomfortable clothes or layers of a facade you wear and you’re taken care of and are innocent and unharmed by the world again, or is it a drug-induced high? but anyone who’s been pushed to near their capacity understands ‘I don’t want to hear it, I don’t want to stay, I don’t want to feel it, take it all away’. for some of us it’s because of being unaccommodated and neurodivergent. or because of trauma and the imprint it leaves on us. or maybe it’s the stresses of life all stacking up over time. you get it. that’s why you’re here. you’re here because we’ve all felt that ‘you seem so damn familiar, but I just can’t place the name’ even if ‘you’re staring in the mirror, but your face won’t stay the same’ isn’t as universal an experience. or maybe it is. if you change what you look like regularly for your job or for personal reasons or as a way to restart after trauma. or it’s depersonalisation. or it’s body dysmorphia. whether living on repeat feels like an oppressive cycle of Feeling Bad But Not Knowing What In Your Lifestyle Contributes or you’re trapped by loss or poverty or disability. it’s a diverse pool of experience. but more often than not, we’ve seen someone we don’t want to lose get miles away inch by inch. we’ve missed out on something we’ve been waiting for because we hoped for a perfect moment, because we were distracted or procrastinating or have a chronic pattern of feeling unworthy and never going after what we want as a result.

whatever reason you’re feeling lost in the rubble, watching in wonder and defeat as whatever you see as ‘the house’ stands all the same. you have to admit that weaving all of these experiences into such a succinct and beautiful sounding (half) body of work takes not only exceptional talent but is just such an important skill as part of a society where we’re able to feel things. to heal. to come out from the sidelines where our stigmatised disorders are hidden from the light of day, our words taken away from us when it comes to connecting with others who feel the same or just integrating in society where other people are aware we exist, aren’t more dangerous than anyone else, and it doesn’t have to be scary or shameful to acknowledge someone being sick or disabled in any way. being in a format that is so listenable, so well put together, and has something that’s relatable for everyone and finds the commonality more than the difference while having parts that acknowledge specific stigmatised experiences that are subtle yet meaningful yet never exclusionary—this does so much for activism around so many things. offers understanding to so many people who otherwise have nothing. even a bridge for communication with broader society. every day I realise new things to appreciate about wfttwtaf
