ship: niragi suguru x aguni sister!oc (aguni makina) word count:  ~1,100 words tags: sfw, established relationship, touched starved!niragi, bed sharing/sleeping together (literally). summary: niragi runs cold and hates feeling cold. luckily, makina runs hot and he's one of few people that can get closer than arm's length to her. together, they find both an equilibrium and peace in each other's company. author notes: wanted to try out makina’s new name and wanted to write something fluffy since niramaki are having a bad time in their current game in-fic.

Niragi has always run cold. For his whole life really. Something about having bad circulation a doctor had told him once. He’d never bothered getting checked for any deeper reasoning behind it, just dealt with numbness and pins-and-needles and the chill. The cold is the worst part. It’s why he hates winter; he hates the oppressive cold, hates feeling so cold even when he’s completely bundled up. 

Summer is better. The warm cast of the sun on his skin, the heavy heat in the air. He’ll take sweating over shivering any day. In the Borderland, it’s a permanent mid-July summer. Being at the Beach only emphasises it with all the people walking around in swimwear, jumping in the pool, playing that annoying playlist again and again every night. 

Makina, Niragi quickly realises, is his opposite. She runs hot. A desk fan runs on an endless swivel in her office. He watches sometimes as she gathers her hair up away from her sweaty nape or flaps her shirt against the heat. When she touches him - a hand brushing against his own or cupping his face into her palm - he notices how warm her skin is. 

Every chance he gets, he tries to drink in the heat of her. She never complains about how cold his hands are when he reaches for her, when he drags her in and fits her in his lap, when he slides his hands under her shirt and smooths them up her back. In fact, she’s more likely to complain that he’s distracting her from her work but she doesn’t pull away. 

There’s no need to worry about work tonight though. Somehow he’s managed to convince her to take the night off, or at least not spend the whole night in her office pouring over her own notes to do work for people who don’t appreciate it nearly enough. 

Not many people are granted invitation to Makina’s room. Niragi is one of the lucky few - or rather the lucky two. Her brother is the only other person Niragi’s ever seen enter her room, not even Hatter is allowed such easy access. Also lucky is that Aguni is nowhere to be seen tonight as Niragi approaches her door, rapping his knuckles on it. A specific drumming pattern is she knows it’s him. 

“You’re here,” she answers as she opens the door with a casual smile, letting him inside. Dressed down, she wears a shirt that hangs slightly too big on her frame and shorts; the wide collar of her shirt exposes the soft lines of her collarbones that his eyes lock onto. She’s so adamantly against the swimwear rule that within the confines of her room is the only place she dresses so casually. 

She steps back as he walks in. He closes the door behind him, then reaches out for her. His fingers slide along the line of her jaw, slipping under her ear to tangle in the strands of her hair. Makina stares back at him, warm brown eyes, soft expression. No one else looks at him like that. He draws her in, kisses her smoothly. She trails her hand up his chest, her slightly-calloused fingertips slipping beneath the unbuttoned collar of his shirt. 

They find an equilibrium together, aided by a certain similarity: the fact that neither of them liked sleeping alone. 

Makina had mentioned once that she and Aguni had shared a room for a lot of their childhood, mainly due to the lack of other options. Now she finds it hard to sleep without the presence of someone nearby. Niragi didn’t have a sibling, he’d never had to share a room, but since high school, he had found that he’s more likely to have nightmares when he sleeps by himself. To no surprise, many of his nights had been riddles with nightmares - until meeting Makina. 

They draw slowly apart. Niragi presses kisses against the beauty spot near her mouth, to the apple of her freckle-spattered cheek, to the starting end of an old scar near her temple. He hears her chuckle, her fingers pull on the lapel of his shirt. She slips from his grasp, his fingertips running along her jaw and off the tip of her chin as she steps away. 

Niragi leaves his shoes by the door, next to her scuffed-up sneakers. She sits on the bed, waiting for him, picking up the book she’d been reading to set it aside on the bedside table, a bookmark set between the page. He rids himself of his jeans, loosens the buttons of his shirt and the ones at his cuffs, then finally pulls the elastic from his hair, looping it around his wrist before ruffling his hand through the freed strands. 

As he collapses onto the free side of her bed, she reaches over to run her fingers through his hair and he feels himself relax, tension loosening. He exhales, like he’s been holding his breath for so long and finally got the chance to breathe properly again. Shuffling, he swings an arm around her, pulling her closer until she’s lying down with him. 

She fumbles a hand out to one side, finding the lamp to click it off, throwing them into comfortable darkness. His hand slips over her side, fingertips sliding over the bare inch of skin between the waistline of her shorts and the ridden-up hem of her top. He moves in closer, pressing his face into the curve of her neck. She smells lightly of jasmine, sweet and floral. 

“You’re so warm,” Niragi mumbles against her collar. 

He feels the rumble of her small chuckle. She runs her fingers through his hair again, following the curve of his skull, her blunt nails gently tracing over his scalp. He tucks his hand under her shirt, smoothing his palm up her spine. Hand settling between her shoulder blades, he can feel her heartbeat. 

“What were you reading?” he asks. 

“Old mystery novel,” she says, “University students on Tsunojima Island, grisly murders, a real whodunnit. It’s good.” 

He hums quietly, acknowledging he’d heard her but his eyes are already starting to flutter closed. Her choice of book isn’t surprising, he knows she likes details, enjoys piecing them all together until the puzzle becomes clear. He wouldn’t be surprised if she’s already figured it out the twist with half the book still left to read. 

They shift around to get comfortable, not a difficult feat since the 'deluxe' suites are well-worth the title for the beds alone. Makina lays on her back, Niragi noses under her soft jaw. His mouth brushes the side of her neck. He tucks in close to her, his cheek drops against her collarbone. Her arm curves around him, twisting strands of his dark hair loosely around her fingers. 

He falls asleep there, listening to the soft sounds of her breathing and heartbeat, engulfed in her warmth and the light scent of jasmine on her skin.

A wolf boy who serves under a clever demon named Sylvao alongside his twin sister, a witch girl named Opal. Klaus can be rabid and wild when in a fight but set him next to an attractive lady and he turns into a perverted dog. Though if treated with kindness (and ear scratches), he can be quick to tame and will follow you anywhere (though would never go against Sylvao’s orders).

Certain aspects of my characters’ personalities, backstories, etc are headcanon-based, especially in the event where there are things that have not been explained/established by canon. Certain characters may also be canon divergent.

Please be aware that I will not hold back my characters. Basically, this means that I ask you to be understanding of the fact that certain characters who are available on this blog may not be friendly towards your muse in interactions. Anything that my muses do or say has nothing to do with my feelings towards you or your muse! It’s important to me as a writer to be true to my characters, so I am not willing to sugarcoat them to spare anyone’s feelings just like I wouldn’t expect anyone else to do so either.  

Certain muses on this blog may have disabilities/disorders/conditions that the writer does not (e.g. Kaeya’s alcoholism, Kazuma's amnesia, Liam's IED, etc). I do my best to write these things both accurately and respectfully, but I am only human and I lack personal experience, so it’s possible that I may get things wrong! All thread lengths are accepted, however please note that I tend to write longer replies. So long as you give me enough to go off of, never feel obligated to match my length. 

The mun is over the age of 21. Smut may occur with muses who are of age, however, I am only comfortable writing smut with people who I am very familiar and comfortable with OOC.

Other nsfw content (blood, violence, other sensitive/mature themes) will occur and will be tagged. 

My only trigger is trypophobia. I will not follow you if you post pictures of this type. Triggers will be tagged as “tw: ____” 

Matching my formatting is not required. My use or non-use of icons may vary depending on the muse.
