I’ve grown tired of editing and it’s community, as well as tumblr itself. I’m a lot less active and have no strong feelings about continuing content on this account. It’s been, like, four years now since I started editing. The burn out hit like a truck lol. People on here are generally great, please do not lose that.

I will keep this blog up, and maybe post from time to time, but the inbox will be closed indefinitely and everything in it will be deleted. I will not be accepting promos. There are some edits I love that I can not delete. If you wish to continue to follow me… my main is @luv-loo where I will probably post some edits, as well as other things.

Thanks for the fun time everyone. This community is great, and I encourage everyone to explore it, there are so many underrated creators who struggle to get their footing. Please, don’t be shy to what you post. Don’t let people tell you you can’t use a source because it’s deemed as bad/problematic. I’m sorry, but in truth everything will have problems. Once you let go of that, and just enjoy what you like, than trust me, this community will be a lot better. Below are just some rants that I’ve been holding in to keep face, but I’m tired of that and so here are my unpopular opinions on this community.

Fucking let people like what they like. So what people have similar styles and layouts, if they like it they like it, it’s not hurting you or anyone. Actually be so fucking real and tell me it’s hurting you that everyone likes the soft aesthetic. It’s a safe place to explore what you like, so let people explore what they like.

Is your source problematic? Cool, if you enjoy it you enjoy it. If you don’t like a source that someone has, just block and don’t interact. It is easy as that. No “call out” posts needed, people will like different things. I’m not a fan of Idol games, I think the characters are just the same thing and the colours are not to taste, but I’m not going out of my way to send hate to people who enjoy it. Danganronpa has so many things wrong with it, but everyone decides for the most part it’s fine. That’s what pisses me off, this community has so many double standards it’s unreal.

What’s with the racism?? Like actually, people on here pick and choose what offends them when it comes to racism. Calling some a racist because the filter they use on a fucking cookie turns the dough skin from brown to white-grey is not racist. It’s a cookie. Hate to break it to people, but cookies are not real people. I know some cookies are connected to different cultures, and so I understand that, better to respect that culture or your just a knob, BUT Vampire cookie is just a little cookie fella with red, his skin colour can be what ever you wish to be. White, black, tan, pale, etc, HE IS A COOKIE. This was a drama that happened a while ago, but I just can’t believe people think so much about cookies but let fucking Genshin Impact slide by having HUMAN characters based off different cultures across the world only to make the, the most pale, white, twink you’ll ever see. This problem is generally so annoying, AND I DONT EVEN PLAY ANY OF THESE GAMES. You can’t pick and choose, take a fucking stance.

Actually, to go along with that. Why is religion such a craze on here for “aesthetic”. Peoples beliefs and perspective on life are not your aesthetic, they are peoples support system that have been for years. Religion helps people come to term with aspects of their lives, is not for everyone, and that’s okay. But omfg, if your going to reference it please do your research. I’m not a religious person myself, but I have grown up in a religious school, and so I understand how people view a higher being. Yes, places off worship are aesthetic, thats a large part of many cultures is to have a place the gods love, but just be respectful is all I ask. Calling yourself “Goddess” and “The high being” is lowkey weird, but if it helps you than I think other people should lay off. Just be respectful. 

Death threats, call out posts, and anything in between are dumb. Your a actual knob, you know that? For letting that shit slide. Death threats to kids is vile, and anyone who does it needs fucking therapy because it is no way, shape or form healthy to be doing that over people making wallpapers on IbisPaint.

Editors are real people, with lives, beliefs, feelings and opinions. They are not special, no one is in the long run. So start treating them as any other person. Holy crap, they are not gods, editors who say they are gods are a little weird imo, but that’s non of my business ! Idc what you are, just as long your not hurting anyone.

Do not be rude to editors, but editors just don’t be rude to people back. I understand being frank, and towards anons who are being shits, but love of god some of the things I see from people are actually annoying. You are entitled to your blog and show you run it, but holy hell being fake out rude to people who may of not notice something is honestly a but immature. I understand I have done this in the past, but I cringe so hard. A lot of these are kids, YOUNG. Let them learn, not make them scared to try again. If you have so many links to just get to a list of sources you won’t do, no one will look at it.

Why aren’t people tagging their post appropriately? Tags are made to help people! There are reasons why you can block post on tumblr. Basic stuff like “bright colours” or “flashing gifs” are essential, and should not be missed. I have struggled to make ID text, and it’s a genuine shame of mine that I could never make them because I have such trouble with words at times and I can’t describe stuff by looking at it, so I’m not going to sit here and shame other people for it as I haven’t even done it myself, BUT tags are critical things, please use the basic tags for post so people can skip it. Also tag your swearing, because a lot of people find it uncomfortable, in any given situation.

Okay, I am feeling better but the school load doubled while I was out sick for a week. I’m gonna close requests and just focus on the ones I have. I NEED TO RANT ABT SOMETHING CS U GUYS ARE SO MEAN ???? TL;DR AT THE BOTTOM!!

I see WAY too many people talking about how so many editors are being basic, uncreative, repetitive, and to an extent, even COPYING.

That is degrading, condescending and incredibly unmotivating to new editors, and to some even current and active editors.

Your mind will NOT make something new without inspiration. You don't dig into the ground and find frames or graphics. Artists also need references. Writing is often inspired. Sports requires years of hard work. Editing is no different.

People will take inspiration off of other things. They will use the same bows and ribbons because it looked PRETTY. They will use similar colors because they CAN. And through a process you will build your own editing style. If its a bit similar to someone else's, NOBODY CARES! If it works for you, it works for you.

And above all, it is hypocritical. Instead of complaining about how everyone else isn't being creative enough, how a certain genre of blogs all look the same, why not branch out and make something new yourself? Or better yet- give feedback, and share resources. Or will they look too much like you? Are you that high of ego?

I am not inherently saying that there ISN'T repetitiveness in editblr. If you look through my old frames they were all essentially the same with different colors. But NOW they are not. NOW they have differences. Similarities enough to be known as my editing style, but NOT the same. It is SLOW, but again, it is a PROCESS.

TL;DR

Originality is dead. If you think you did it first, your WRONG. (- preyr) People will take inspiration, some editing styles may be similar and that's FINE. To be complaining without taking action is just degrading.

I’ve redone my theme and I am READY for some requests~ If you do not know me, hi ! You can call me Lou, I’ve been on the edit side of Tumblr since 2020 (the Danganronpa days !) This is my hobby I enjoy (gift giving is my love language so—) and I would love to make edits for people. My main goal right now is help spread the range of sources being edited a lot more to help include editors from all types of mediums ! Think, live action, books, anime, cartoons, manga & comics.
