katsuki bakugou

welcome back to *my incredibly controversial opinions on shit*

now i see a lot of comments from people in the MHA fandom going "oh bakugou was ab*sed by his mom when he was younger" and stuff like that and lemme tell you i had a good laugh at that

like i fully respect your opinion IF you think bakugou was 'ab*sed' by his mother, but here's my opinion that you didn't ask for:

first off, yes, bakugou takes after his mom's explosive personality. both are extremely hotheaded, stubborn, violent, and impatient. this is shown when with bakugou, mistuki resorts to smacking him on the head or screaming at him loudly (and bakugou retaliates with the same methods)

but this isn't 'ab*se'. my theory is that mitsuki treated bakugou any way a normal mother would treat their child when he was younger. she would call him sweetie and honey and stuff and be like "ok honey i'm going to take a picture of you, ok? stand still and smile!" and shit like that. i mean she literally has a full book called "katsuki's memories" that she reads (this is canon btw).

however, when bakugou started to grow up and his resentment for deku started to grow as well, he started going through his 'rebellious teenager phase'. when people go through this, they become more ignornant, especially of their parents. and yeah, i think thats when mitsuki and bakugou started fighting.

since mitsuki and bakugou have the same personality, they often clash a lot. for example, they are both stubborn, so if they were fighting over an opinion, they would STICK to THEIR OWN opinion, and one thing would lead to another. my own mother and older brother are like this. my brother gets his personality from my mom, so they find it hard to agree with each other on stuff and they fight a lot.

also, mitsuki would fight back because she only wants the best for her son. "respect your son, dammit!" if bakugou said that, mitsuki would probably reply, "only if you respect your mother first!!" like i said. rebellious teenager arc. mitsuki has the full right to get angry. if i had a son like bakugou, we would be screaming our heads off at each other 24/7, 365.

ALSO, mitsuki's calls her son 'weak' and 'helpless' because he got captured by the LOV, and people are like "gasp omg aB*sE" like no mitsuki's simply being harshly honest. she knows how big bakugou's attitude, pride, and envy can be, and she's calling him out for that. people are literally overanalyzing it like "oh i bet they didn't even care when he got captured" bitch it literally says his parents were worried sick when he got captured. someone said "whErE wErE tHeY wHeN hE gOt cApTuReD?" like what you want some non-heroes to burst in on some destructive, evil villains and somehow save their son without any experience?? bffr all they can do is provide the police and actual heroes info on their son and stay at home and be concerned.

so yeah thats my opinion. bakugou was not ab*sed.

Au where Lloyd realises Arin is going through a “i wanna be a villain” phase every first student goes through and after an argument none of the ninja, not even Nya, can stop the annoyed Lloyd from dragging every single one of them out to the training yard before this petty loser summons Morro in front of all of them.

And Morro, trying to deal with whatever bull he’s been facing after the merge, stands absolutely baffled when Lloyd gestures to him saying to some random kid “Do you really wanna end up like him??”

Best part is that when they both get into an argument again and all the ninja and including the new gen give up on stopping them, Morro holds a hand up and says “wait wait wait, for the love of GOD. Do NOT tell me you’re trying to do that whole evil first student thing too.” And then this mf joins Lloyd in lecturing Arin in gruesome detail about his life and regrets in just as much annoyance. And this time Arin just stands there horrified thinking ‘maybe I should rethink this…’

All the ninja are horrified. (Well, they actually just kinda gave up. They’ve learnt that every green ninja, wannabe or not, are all incredibly stubborn.)

Sora, Wyldfyre, and Euphrasia are all equally terrified.

Lloyd knew this would happen. They didn’t share one brain for at least a month for nothing.

Branch always believed that the king was hiding things and with the arrival of Synth he confirms it

King Peppy doesn't trust him either since he considers him too 'wild' to prevent him from hurting anyone else and he always contradicts him, he has been so bothered by the fact that he is not under his control (not to mention he has old grudges with the family thanks to brozone)

Iruka has multiple ear piercings from his delinquent days truther but in the sense that he takes them off for teacher duties because wearing any kind of shiny attention grabbing jewellery around a bunch of volatile high excitable nin-kids is just asking for trouble and he's not a fucking idiot thank you very much

Which means all his students inevitably have a huge double take moment when they see him in casuals or mission wear outside of class and he looks like all those bad boy gangster punks their parents always complain about causing trouble

The only one unsurprised by it is Naruto because he's so used to Iruka's piercings he doesn't even clock their existence most of the time but he does think it's weird that his brother takes them off for school and not for missions. "Kids are more likely to try tearing them out," he says which is such a shudder worthy thought Naruto never brings it up again

Big Brother Slider, the true Mom Friend™

So we all have that friend, who is 100% the mom friend. And listen, are both Slider and Ice little shits of their own devices? Yes, but i'd say that Ice can be a solid Mom friend, when needed. BUT, when with Slider it just goes out of the window, and pair that with Big Brother!Slider, and you have one hell of a head cannon there.

Every time that they go to the bar, Slider doesn't even leave Ice's side, guards his drink like a feral dog, and rounds Ice up when it's time to go home

Stops Ice from having fun recklessly endangering himself

Once at the bar Ice was on his 5th Whiskey sour before a table sent over 3 shots of tequila, Ice smiled and brought one up to toast, and using his mom senses common sense, Slider abandons his chat with Goose and is at Ice's side in about 3.5 seconds saying "no no no no" takes the shots and whiskey sours out of his hand and drags Ice home

Nearly had an aneurism when he found out Ice let someone else (Goose) drive him somewhere

"YOU LET SOMEONE DRIVE YOU? WHAT IF THEY WERE TRYING TO KIDNAP YOU? KIDNAP THEN KILL YOU!? YOU KNOW PEOPLE HAVE A THING FOR YOUNG BLONDES" "WE WERE BOTH GOING BACK TO BASE, AND IM 24" "SO?? YOU'RE PRACTICALLY A BABY" "IT WAS GOOSE! AND YOU'RE ONLY A COUPLE YEARS OLDER THAN ME" "AND?? HE HAS A MUSTACHE! YOU'RE TELLING ME YOU'D TRUST SOMEONE WITH A MUSTACHE??" Slider always, ALWAYS has snacks and Capri-Suns on his person incase Ice gets hungry

It's like clockwork, every time Ice starts to get hungry, hangry, cranky etc. Slider is there handing over a Capri-Sun and some carrot sticks or apple slices

"Well maybe if you didn-" Ice starts before being interrupted by Slider shoving an apple slice into his mouth mid sentence, and stopping what seems to be the next arguing match between him and Maverick in it's tracks. Ice just glowers at Slider with a pout and starts chewing on his apple slice. "I told you not to skip breakfast, now you're gonna be cranky" "Bite m-" and once more Ice is silenced with an apple slice, as Goose and Mav along with the rest of the flyboys watch on in fascinated horror as Ice's temper is swiftly and expertly derailed by Slider and his apple slices. When they're finished Slider promptly procured a Capri-Sun from somewhere and quickly shoved it within Ice's hands before he had a chance to protest. "No" Ice said looking at Slider "Drink it" "No" "Ice" "I don't want to, so im not" "Toma Mikhailovich so help me god" Slider starts, pinching the bridge of his nose, and Ice just huffs and starts to drink. The flyboys never recovered from this.

Once when filing paperwork Ice got a paper cut, as people do, and the cut is small but the tiniest, tiniest, itty bitty drop of blood wells forward and Slider already has a portable First Aid kit spread out on the desk, Neosporin on a bandaid before being wrapped around Ice's finger and Ice doesn't even blink

It's a whole 10 second ordeal and they just continue on with their lives like nothing happened

Ice coughed once after accidentally being caught out in the rain and Slider straight up commandeers the kitchen to make more soup than Ice could ever possibly consume fully convinced Ice is coming down with something

Admittedly, Ice did in fact get the flu, but Slider was too concerned to say "I told you so"

Despite everything, Slider and Ice (platonically) love each other, and Slider is 100% the mom friend between the two of them

Just recently realized that Alan is both technologically-challenged and directionally-challenged while his new juniors are the total opposite of these traits... a cheeky influencer with a knack for hacking and scamming and a motorbike rider who regularly explores cities as chaperone bodyguard partner-in-crime of said influencer.

Kiddos, help your dad captain once in awhile will ya it is a miracle he has survived to this day relatively unscathed;;;

My brain just hit an old hyperfixation (is this what it's called? I hope I used the word right) and oh dear am I losing my mind now. I need to write a story I think. About this one old guy. He's unhinged. There's so much information about him and yet not enough. I want to explore his character so much. He's definitely a criminal - at least he was one - and I'm 95% sure he can do actual real magic, and he's a musician and an artist and an actor and a magician and a philosopher and a traveler and a conman and so much more and also I think he's some kind of immortal. Maybe he just has a VERY long life. It's strongly implied he was a pirate at some point of his life. He started a cult by accident several times. My conspiracy theories about him include him being a secret god.

He's also a freaking round blue raven. Someone save me from my mind.

nancy wheeler the eldest daughter

Thinking of Nancy always worried over her siblings. Guilty in her choices because she should’ve done more, and angry. Angry that she sees Mike and Holly but can’t see where the line is drawn between sibling and child. Hates that she is unsure whether to laugh or scold when Mike blows bubbles in his milk or sneaks food from their fathers plate. Hates that she tells them to brush their teeth before bed, get to school on time, do their homework, finish their chores and wonder if their chores were given to them by her or their mother. 

She wonders if thats why they hate her. They hate that she’s hot and cold and never lukewarm. That she teases and pulls their ears in one moment and scolds them in the next. Wonders if they hate her because she tells them how to navigate their fathers mood swings, how to please their mother, and how to live in a home where they have two parents but somehow she is both.

(they don’t hate their sister, of course, they’re worried. Worried that somehow they are doing this strange thing called growing up wrong, because Nancy didn’t do this at my age, Nancy didn’t feel like she would explode at any second. 

Holly still lives in bliss of loving her sister that’s really her mother. While Mike steadily grows and grows and wonders if he wasn’t growing up wrong, but rather wonders if Nancy ever grew up. Was she ever a child, like him? Was she ever prickly in her own skin and scared of her own emotions and the heart in her chest? Or was she rather something entirely different.)

but he appreciates guts more than anything

and it was a pretty ballsy move for his kid to defy him like this

she thinks she's being so slick as well, waiting for him to go to bed and creeping out

"And what plans do you have at this time of night? He better be worth the grounding you're about to get"

with the most innocent look and a sweet as pie voice she turns to him like:

"Daddy, I'm just going out to see a movie with Claire. You remember her, right? No boys or alcohol, just a movie"

he's not fooled

"Oh really, open your bag then?"

time to drop the act

"fine. How long am I grounded for? "

he tells her it's forever but she knows it'll be like a week as per usual

stomps back up the stairs muttering about how she can't wait to move out at 18

but he doesn't like her doing anything that could her hurt, like walking around the streets of New York late at night....

he catches her shimmying down a drainpipe out her bedroom window

she's super slow at it so he just goes downstairs and waits for her

"I told you no"

she half jumps out of her skin

she really didn't think he'd know she was doing this

"But dad!"

"I said no, it's 11:30 at night, I don't want you out at this time"

"I'm just going to a friend's house, please? Her dad's picking me up and everything, he'll drop me back too!"

he thinks about it for a minute

"I'll drop you off. And pick you up. And if you aren't there, I'm sending your body guards out for you and they will embarrass you in front of your friends. I'll make sure of that"

Oh god he's such a wild card as a parent

but also such a massive push over as a parent

like his kids really aren't used to being told "no"

but when he says "no" he fucking means it

so when he catches his daughter with a bottle of raspberry vodka in one hand and his car keys in the other... shit is about to hit the fan

she hears it before she even realises what's happened

the bottle of vodka smashing on the floor

then there's what he says

because Mikey doesn't yell, he actually gets real quiet when he's angry

"Is this what I fucking get? for raising you, caring for you, protecting you? this blatant disregard for my rules and wishes? Who are you sneaking out to see? Because I fucking swear that if it's the boy you've been making eyes at all semester, he won't make it to school on Monday or ever again. Do you understand?"

he sort of realises he fucked up once she starts balling her eyes out and shaking

after that he clams down and they go back inside for some daddy/daughter rebuilding trust.

she's fine the next day but never sneaks out again

he plays the long game

he see's her sneak out, and follows

obvs he's super discreet and she thinks she's gotten away with it

until her and her friends are drinking and partying and dancing, until they feel comfortable...

then he strikes

armed guards knock down the door, guns pointed in everyone's faces

there's a bit of a scuffle (drunk "hero" teenage boy trying to show he's a big shot) but he gets knocked out pretty quickly

then Donnie appears

he grabs her by the hair, pulling her face close to his and hissing that it's time for them to leave

in the car on the way back, he's eerily calm

she's trying to do damage control, lot's of "i'm sorry" and "it'll never happen again"

"Oh, I know it won't"

she's confused

"I don't want bad influences on my daughter. so you're going to a private school and I've been assured, it's very strict. Your friends are all going to fail their classes and get kicked out of school and they will be made to know it's your fault and I expect a 5000 word essay on why this was such a bad idea in my hand by Wednesday"

she just sobs

after the essay is handed to him, he "forgives her" and doesn't continue with his plan.

but she never does shit like that again.
