Finished the Suzume novel and it made me emotional ;v; I didn’t realize Makoto Shinkai wrote the novel at the same time as he made the movie.

The ending always gets me, but I thoroughly enjoyed the extra insights into the characters’ feelings and experiences. Very little was cut in the movie.

I might’ve caught some feels for Serizawa… just some.

listened to the first episode of the severance podcast with adam scott and ben stiller today and i can't stop thinking about this bit they were discussing from the original pilot script where Ms. Cobel invites Mark into her house, has him watch while she tortures her pet rat, and then reveals that the rat is severed and "flips a switch" so the rat starts cozying up to her and acting like a sweet affectionate pet. like. okay! they were really just gonna put it all on the table like that! you're the rat, mark!!!! you and helly and all your friends are the rats, mark!!!! mark!!!!!!!!!!

friendly reminder that you can still get covid in 2024, we're in the middle of a massive wave right now and covid is NOT "just a cold". take necessary precautions in crowded places, on buses, on train, or on planes. it's better enduring a few strange looks when wearing a mask than getting ill and/or (god forbid) lifelong complications from long covid!

oh also, if you've got symptoms–yes it's a pain to have to buy a test–but PLEASE test. we're still in the middle of a pandemic however much we all want to forget that fact and we can still do our bit to protect others!
