Masterplan II
A/N: soo because some People (it´s been only two haha) asked if there was a part two to Masterplan, I´ve gotta tell you: THERE IS. The thing is, I thought about making this a series, but as I couldn´t make up a proper idea on how to continue this, I better leave it as a two part story. Also, I´ve got no idea if this might is a bit too cheesy or too out of character, but I hadn´t had a plot in my head, I just scribbled something down and this is the result. Enjoy nontheless!
After that mistletoe-incident, things between Severus and you had turned radically. Just not the way you two secretly wanted it to.
Instead of getting a little closer to one another, the tension between you two only became more heavy and everything else was just.. awkward.
When at the beginning you were thanking Merlin for no student or teacher to see what had happened, you soon learned that it wouldn´t really make a difference if they had, because of two very talkative collegues.
You would have trusted Albus Dumbledore with your life, yet not even this kind of secret was safe with him. To say you were dissapointed was quite an understatement. Not only were you not closer to the man you loved and kissed, but also everyone knew and everyone talked about it. Even Filch. You had heard him talk to Mrs. Norris about it once.
And hell, that was embarrassing.
While some of your students kept the respect they had for you and acted as if you hadn´t just kissed the most feared teacher of Hogwarts, the rest of them shot glares in your direction.
That wasn´t exactly how you wanted things to turn. Severus wasn´t even talking to you anymore, not the slightest word left his mouth when he knew you were anywhere near. And somehow he seemed to sense your presence because he would go quite whenever you were at the other end of the hallway.
Unbeknown to you, Severus was dealing with the hardest crisis he ever had with himself.
Because damn- he would never in a million years admit that he actually felt something when your lips were pressed to his. And sometimes, Severus found himself imagining that it would happen again, just to soon come back to the fact, that you weren´t exactly kissing him because you wanted it. No- he knew you were being forced, because otherwise neither of you could have escaped the situation.
Yet his mind kept wandering, making up scenarios he knew would never happen. Just as you coming down to his classroom in the dungeons. Walking towards his desk with your grazile movements, elegant as ever and asking him about a potion. And while he would explain he would see your lips twitch to a warm smile, your [E/C] eyes lighting up and laughing that angelic laugh. And he would ask you why you would laugh and you would explain that there was nothing on this earth you loved more than him talking about something he was passionate about, which were only two things: Potions and you.
Meanwhile you couldn´t help but imagining the Potions Master and you walking side by side on your way to Hogsmeade. You would sit near the roaring fire in The Three Broomsticks, both enjoying a cup of butterbeer and each others company. Then you would walk back to the castle together and Severus wouldn´t leave your side until you were reaching the door to your private quarters. That´s where you would ask him to come in for a tea, which he would decline, knowing that it already was late and he still got some work to do. So you would get a little closer to him and get up on your tip toes. Once your face was close enough to his, he would smile one of his rare smiles and seal your lips with his in a tender, almost careful kiss that, might not have been passionate, yet it was filled with so much emotion that you would want to stay that way forever. But far too soon the moment ended and far to soon, you were pulled back to reality, when someone waved a hand infront of your face.
„You´re even listening to me?“ a male voice asked. You knew where both the hand and the voice belonged to, so you shook your head slightly, trying to get that dizzy feeling out of it, but failing, and turned around to find your best friend standing infront of you.
„You seem distracted.“ Remus stated. „Do you think about what I´d bet you think about?“
You looked at him while he sat down on the sofa that was placed in the middle of your room, but staying silent for a while until rolling your eyes.
Sighing, you said: „You´re my best friend so there´s no point in lying to you, add the fact that you´d find out sooner the later. But yes I´m thinking about what you think I´m thinking about.“
Slumping down next to where he sat, you let our a slight groan and extended your neck, placing your head on the armrest and your feet in his lap.
„You want me to give you an advice?“ he asked.
„You´re saying it no matter what my answer will be, so just do it Remus. Tell me what I should do to solve this problem.“
He chuckled lightly and answered: „You should stop thinking.“
Lifting your head you looked at him.
„Stop.. thinking?
„About him, I mean.“ Lupin said and shifted, moving you legs along so that he was a bit closer to you. His bright eyes searching yours.
He saw your quized expression and started to explain what he meant with his last words.
„You´re thinking about him far too much. Whenever I tell you something you´re not listening because your too deep in your head, thinking about scenarios and things that may or may not will happen. But that´s the thing [Y/N/N]. They won´t ever happen if you don´t do anything about making them happen. So my advise is: Stop thinking and start acting. I know you´re secretly hoping that Severus will make the first move, but I know him and I´m telling you that he won´t do anything if you aren´t showing him that you want him to. So do something. Talk to him, about anything. Try to get in touch with him.“
„Why do you even give me advise about a man you don´t even like?“ you mumbled, getting up to rest you weight on your ellbows.
Remus breathed out loudly and looked down, starting to draw small circles on your knee.
„Severus and I might not be the best of friends, but at least we´re respecting one another. But the point is: You are my best friend [Y/N]. You are the closest to family I have and all I want for my family is to be happy. And when it´s Severus who´ll make you happy, then that´s what it is like. I have to accept it and I will because I know how much he means to you.“
Getting up into a sitting position, you curled your arms around his shoulders. „Thank you Remus. For everything.“
He too put his arms around you and hugged you tightly.
„Go. Talk to him.“
And so you did.
You knew Remus was right. Nothing would ever happen if you wouldn´t go for it.
So you went down to the dungeons, knowing that he would be here on this time of the day.
You knocked on the door, patiently waiting until you heard his voice allowing you entrance.
And there he was, sitting on his desk, his jet black hair framing his face, the dark brown eyes looking straight into yours. You could feel yourself melting. This eyes, they were like galaxies and you wanted nothing more than to get lost in them.
„What is it that you want Ms. [Y/L/N]?“
You couldn´t help but smile. Even when being alone, Severus still tried to keep things professional, always acting as if nothing did bother him. Yet you know that this wasn´t the truth.
„I want to talk to you Severus.“ Oh how much you loved to say his name out loud and Severus too felt a shiver run down his spine for hearing his own name leaving your lips.
„About work?“
„About us.“
Quirking an eyebrow, he tilted his head, his eyes never leaving yours.
„What is there to talk about?“ he asked. The curiousness of what might follow was audible in his voice.
Smiling to yourself you got yourself to walk closer to him, sitting down on the chair opposite to his.
„The mistletoe. The things that followed. Everything that was before. There truly is so much to talk about..“ your thoughts drifted away once more, thinking about all the things you wanted to tell him, all the feelings you had to express in words, when you weren´t even sure if that was possible.
„But let´s just make it short. I like you. Like a lot. And althrough it didn´t seem like that sometimes I somehow think that you like me too. If that isn´t what it is like, then all you have to do is to say something. Then I´ll get up, leave your room and I won´t bother you again. I just want to know if I´m the only one having the urgent wish to find a mistle toe anywhere in this room and you being the only one who can help me get out of it´s curse.“
Severus stared at you balantly, obviously trying to make up some sly remark. But he failed miserably. It wasn´t his nature to speak about the feelings that he harboured deep within him. He wasn´t willing to let anyone get that close to him. He was afraid to anyone taking his feelings as his weakness, using them against him. But he wanted this to be working. Severus loved you, deeply, wholeheartly, truly. And for once in his life, the one person he loved, seemed to actually love him back. He wouldn´t let this slip.
But he didn´t answer, not even allowing the tinniest of sound to leave his mouth.
Shutting the book infront of him and he started to work on someting else.
He could feel your composture shift, you were clearly uncomfortable. You had just opened your heart for someone to read like an open book and for you it was obviously that your feelings were unrequited. Severus didn´t love you, yet that didn´t stop you from loving him. It would never.
Getting up slowly, you heard the chair scratch over the stone floor. Feeling as if someone had just ripped your heart out of your living body, you were about to leave when in his door, you heard him call your name.
„I don´t think that you can move much farther.“ Severus said, making you look at him completelly puzzled. He just made a movement with his head that told you to look up. So you did and right above you a small, green mistletoe was about to grow, getting bigger with each second that passed.
You looked back at Severus, who now had gotten to his feet, making his way towards you.
There he was, your rescuer, your night in shining armor. The man you desired the most and the one you would love till the end of your days.
Maybe Muggle traditions weren´t so bad after all.
Severus Snape deserves all the love in the world!

Shadowhunters | 3.02 Review
Shadowhunters - The Powers That Be
written by Todd Slavkin & Darren Swimmer, directed by Matt Hasting
Tumblr media
The second episode of the new season of Shadowhunters introduces the new High Warlock of Brooklyn and shows us what Alec and Magnus are up to, while the second plot focuses on the relationship of Jace and Clary as well as Simon and Maia. Quite a lot of time is spend on exploring relationships in this episode - sometimes more, sometimes less cheesy, and there is no much development in the overall story, but the episode is enjoyable to watch nontheless.
Warlock politics
“Being the High Warlock is a thankless job.”
Magnus and Alec attend a warlock party in honour of Lorenzo Ray, the new High Warlock of Brookyln. It’s soon made clear that Magnus and Lorenzo don’t like each other very well, and neither do Alec and Lorenzo. We also get to see Catarina and Madzie again.
When suddenly something causes the magic of the warlocks to malfunction and Magnus steps up and solves the problem for the moment it’s also revealedt that Lorenzo distursts Magnus deeply. Lorenzo threatens Magnus when the visits him later, being convinced that Magnus was behind the corruption of the magic ley lines.
After that conversation Magnus reveals to Alec that his father is Asmodeus, a greater demon. He’s ashamed because of that, but Alec assures him that it does not matter. It’s always great to get some more information about Magnus’ life, and to have Alec be supportive of him, no matter who his father might be. And since Lorenzo isn’t searching in the right places, Alec and Magnus investigate in Lorenzo’s house instead - Magnus analyses the magic while Lorenzo is distracted by Alec’s fake interest in Lorenzo’s drinks, paintings, vases... actually it’s fasctinating that Lorenzo doesn’t get suspicious. He is probably very lonlely and just needs a friend to talk to, who knows?
The result of Magnus’ investigations is that it’s not Asmodeus doing anything, but he can’t guess who is behind this.
Dating policies
"That could've been awkward." - "Could've been?"
Jace plans to take Clary on a date, and because he has no idea how to go about it he asks Isabelle and Simon for advice about locations. Unfortunately, when he takes Simon’s advice it turns out that Simon and Maia are there on a date, too, and the result is a very akward double date.
We get the chance to see a little bit of both relationships outside the supernatural drama. It is nothing special for Maia and Simon - both have been mundane and we have seen them in a similar situation before. We get a little cheesy scene with both of them where Maia is worried about Simon’s mark, but it is only a short moment and sort of cute. Jace on the other hand hasn’t had any serious romantic interest before Clary  so he is less sure of himself, especially when he explains to Clary what he likes about her. His words aren’t very original or anything special in general, but that is not expected from someone without any real experience in talking about feelings. And while it is a bit cheesy, too, it still feels real - Jace and Clary’s relationship is quite human in that way. Some people might not like it, but it works for me. Just... next time, Jace, don’t ask your girlfriend’s ex for advice when it comes to locations for dating.
Among the little things I enjoyed seeing in these scenes was Clary drawing in her free time, Clary and Maia discussing what happens to the clothes of werewolves when they turn, and Simon’s comment about everyone aving slept with Jace. It was also nice to see that despite the awkward situation and small things like Simon knowing what Clary likes better than Jace or Simon and Clary finding out about Jace’s and Maia’s affair, no forced drama came out of it. Everyone behaved quite mature given the circumstances, and they ended the evening in a civiliszed way. In fact, both couples seemed to be more aware of their happiness in their relationships than before. That was unusual for an awkward-double-date-situation on TV, and it was most welcome.
Demonic problems
"We are under siege by a greater demon. It is our job to solve this problem."
The current main conflict - the fight against Lilith - is yet unkown to the protagonists, but with the results of Magnus’ investigation the Shadowhunters know they’ve got to do something, Magnus and Alec propose a plan, but quite a lot of Shadowhunters are against it. Raj even sabotages their efforts - which is really not helpfull at all, not even for the sake of the Shadowhunters and the insitute. What was the guy thinking? This show’s power couple Magnus and Alec manage to get rid of the corrupted ley lines. And while Magnus mentions that Lorenzo took the credit for that it is clear nontheless that Magnus is still the High Warlock in anything but name - he protected the warlocks at the party as well as the whole city when he came to the New York institute to solve the problem. His devotion to the safety of the warlocks is real, while Lorenzo is distracted by his envy of Magnus.
The episode ends by taking a step forward in Simon’s plot. When the werewolves attack him, his mark gets activated and repells the attacker.

Next episode is developing the plot of Jace and Sebastian even further and adressing the powers of Simon’s mark. Judging by the promos, Clary is starting to worry about Jace and Luke has to deal with his pack’s dislike of Simon. And last but not least: Alec, Magnus and Maryse are having dinner together. This episode looks quite crowded already - but usually Shadowhunters can do those kind of episodes quite well.
