A realistic dragon drawing! I used references for different things in this artwork, I really recommend references. Especially multiple references. I know I usually draw fanart, but I just wanted to see if I could draw a realistic dragon.

For my dragons, I love to use both complementary and analogous colors at different saturations and values for harmonious palettes

After watching the 2016 remake to Pete’s Dragon for the second time after buying the dvd for the time I was out at the mall I cried like a baby when it came for both Pete and Elliott especially Elliott and really liked Elliott as a big green fluffy dragon he looked real cute but not as funny and cute at the same time as his original design back in the 1977 version of Pete’s Dragon so I decided to draw myself as a big fluffy purple dragon similar to the lovable big fluffy Elliott except Elliott was always a dragon while Adean was originally born a human being.

For this piece, I used Ohuhu markers for the base, and a black and a white colored pencil for the rendering

With this piece, I experimented with using only a black and a white colored pencil for the rendering. They don’t smudge as much as graphite pencils
