Actually I don’t think you are actually fr an adult author if you can’t write something without a s*x scene in it

#<-trying to avoid our ancient enemy the evil bots #but literally. i will pick a book off the general fiction side and every time completely unnecessarily there will be such a scene where it #has no business being for the story #I’m about ready to fight over this #there’s been exactly one book out of the dozen or so I’ve done from that side that did not have it and it was Patron Saint of Second Chance #by Christine Simon #and I don’t think Road to Roswell my belovedest did either #but listen I think it’s a sign that something in society is fundamentally broken when I can pick too random books #and one is a cozy bookstore romance thing #and one is a weird travel fantasy that has nothing to do with romance #as a plot #and then both of them as soon as the girl comes across a guy and is like he’s likable #the next step is randomly try to sleep with him #evil evil evil evil #let’s not.#stop using sex scenes as shortcut for romance! it doesn’t work! you won’t have any!#this is wisdom and you should listen to it!!#I’m also gonna include the use of f-bombs in this post because if you can’t write a fantastical Victorian travel novel in fairy tale #style language without randomly using f bombs like do you even have a grasp of the language #those don’t belong in this story’s word set use your vocabulary!!#(there are times it makes sense in the story and the language catalog for the story and/or character for both of these but if you can’t do #story without them when they don’t belong that’s lazy I think #I’m throwing down the glove to adult authors I think they should try #this also goes for Jodi Picoult for whom the first thing did fall into the subject material but should not have been like the whole bull an #meat of that story at the expense of the actually interesting material #(couldn’t finish By Any Other Name between that the anachronistic feminism and the massive chip on her shoulder that seemed to be her subje #material

I CANT USE CSS ON ARTFIGHT...............

#I WAS REALLY HOPING TO FIX THE FUCKING. PARAGRAPH WIDTH. SIGH #idk why but it stretches across the ENTIRE page like. it takes up the full width of the browser and it BOTHERS ME. ON ALL THE PAGES #i could try manually putting shift breaks but im worried it might not look so good on mobile. ugghh... auyggghhh.....#im already learning CSS and API so i thought i could put it to good use but. AUGH #this whole time ive had to go into the inspect panel myself and change the padding so i dont have to read the length of the screen #like a fucking typewriter... i would have also loved to use custom fonts and animations......#i did find a guide for BBCode which the site uses on default and it covers basic styling but its not the same. sniffle #you CAN unlock CSS if you donate $25 to the page which seems fair. and if i could do it i would but. i do not have any way of #sending or receiving money online </3 i really need to figure out how to do that so i can set up comms like i said i would last summer #but it intimidates me.... and im already kept on a short leash when it comes to that so it feels like a lot of things could go wrong #i think toyhouse allows CSS or some sort of code...?? i remember seeing some oc pages with custom layouts #if thats the case i'll try fiddling with it but im not very familiar with using toyhouse so thatll take a while #(thanks again for the code sal ^_^ ill put it on my pin once its ready but im trying to learn my way around the site heh ;;)#at least i can use my pixel dividers.. ive been digging around for pixels to use and found some really cute ones #yapping

i think i have finally created what i think is a decent system for knapping. right clicking with a new item called a leg guard in hand will open up an interface where the knapping process can begin, which can be used repeatedly to shape pieces of (currently) flint and obsidian into tools. flint is the easiest and most widely available material here so i am thinking about adding some other stones or the ability to hit peices of certain stone off of blocks and use those in knapping. a sort of progression to work up towards stronger materials as you find deposits of different stone. the GUI is done though i need to add flare .... working on flint tools now that the system is working and bug-free. ive kind of started shifting my focus away from ecology and focusing more on technology again. i want to get a few more interesting systems out before i release 1.0.0. however most animals are done and fully animated and their taming mechanics are mostly bug-free

#for the taming mechanics the idea is that you hold a food they like in your main hand and hold on to them with your off hand while they #try to kick you off. thinking about adding an additional minigame style of mechanic that involves either button mashing or sort of...#quicktime events #one thing is for sure and its that i am most likely not going to release it this week but that is just because i am kind of loving working #on this and i keep adding things LMFAO #after all of the knapping recipes and tools are added i will move on to one or two other armor sets #then bug squashing #then cleaning up some textures and choppy animations #THEN maybe 1.0.0 will be ready #cenozoicraft

hm hm hm i feel like this will be really interesting to read with the knowledge of korra and how that effected her instead.... because korra (from my limited knowledge so i could be talking out my ass here) knew she was the avatar at an early age and DID get that community. she had katara and her parents, she had her mentors, she was isolated from the real world during so and perfected the elements other than air (which i kinda recall her struggling with and how its the opposite element of earth so im excited to see if those kinda play out :3) and she was more eager to be the avatar and the excitement and significance it brought (which was a bit clouded by her being sheltered but also would have been expected more before the war impacted things)

i also remember matty saying kyoshi struggled with earth bending (which im super excited to get to and see/see her journey and how it will differ) but!!! i just think its really fun how theyre kinda off the bat setting up this expectation and new grounding for readers who have a past grasp of the avatar universe. even as someone who isnt super familiar with the lore, i know enough to recognize that oh! thats something new!! so just kudos to the writer(s?) for just setting this up to be something very different and in a natural way :3

#again. talking out my ass here. if im an idiot no one say anything okay? okay <3 #but i think its fun to already see some parallels or ways kyoshi and korra are different or similar #and how korra got the set-up stage that was considered ideal (i think?) for these two characters #like !!! the avatar is supposed to know theyre the avatar at a young age!#and aang learning when he was 12 instead?? i think?#or being told hey man you gotta fucking get ready/do your teen duties instead of preeteen ones cause theres a war....#but no sorry my head is scattered i cant keep a line of thought but the point was i know a lot of people bash korra because shes too #‘abrasive’ or comfortable with being the avatar when?? for previous experiences that eagerness was something more expected (i think)#like its so difficult to make a solid grounding argument when im not lore caught up but korras excitement to be the avatar and that she #knows its significant and important is something that would been encouraged before the war because of that hope and belief #that the avatar will keep that balance or save the world when others cant. aang disappearing and the genocide and war #obviously effected how people will see the avatar in universe and how her teachers are more hesitant and restrictive #none of this makes sense im just thinkin to myself while half distracted lol but ! go cringegirl bosses go !!!!#RoK (ransom style)
