The main difference between the shonen trope of ending the story with all your female characters as housewives and Touka ending out as a mom who just works in a cafe is that she fought because she had to, she lived in a world that necessitated it. The people she loved were constantly being taken from her and subjected to injustice and she fought because she wasn’t the type to sit back and let that fly.

#watching Tokyo ghoul #reading Tokyo ghoul #her arc was always about understanding where yoshimura was coming from imo #even early on in RE it wasn’t out of character for her not to be directly in the fray until Hinami was actively in danger #she’s always fought on behalf of the ones she loved #not because she particularly wanted to *fight* but because she wanted to protect and shelter which is why she took up yoshimura’s mantle #the people who fight need a place to go they need sanctuary #it’s one of the rare cases where I think not much if anything would have changed if she’d been written as a boy I think this was just the #natural flow of her arc it’s not about never writing women into these roles it’s about whether it’s true to their char #and Touka always wanted a normal life she always wanted to blend in with the humans because it was the only way to achieve that for so long #she becomes a mom away from the front lines at the end because it’s the normal life she wanted for the entirety of both halves of the series

You guys ever think about how the prophecy was talking about a "new moon" and how MC's almost-canon-name is "Luna"?

By the way, you guys know what happened on September 3rd? MC got cursed and sent to Darkwick as a result. Incidentally, (assuming Tokyo Debunker's story took place in 2024...) September 3rd would also be a night of new moon. 🌑

#when i read tg the rize mother symbolism was so jarring to me but recently i saw someone mention rize and makima together and it made me go #!!!!#because i hadn’t connected how much their dynamic resembles sometimes #how rize and makima both are introduced with the mc being attracted to it and following them for it but the more the story progresses it #they both take the role of mother/creators #also while i added the bit of kaneki and denji cannibalizing rize/makima its worth to mention that both scenes happen in complete different #context and denji eating her out of love would be more fitting parallel to kaneki killing rize and freeing her at the end but i find it #interesting still they both eat them even if kaneki its more in his mind #anyway nobody probably carws for this cus theres like only 5 ppl in this app still into tg #but whatever #mine #chainsaw man #tokyo ghoul

Let’s clear one thing up within the first sentence here: Blog is not cancelled! Chribs is just at school doing school things!

Y’all know how it was last year. Unmediated ADD and school do not mix as I’m sure several of you are well aware. I am currently on fall break which is why I am able to post this at all! Soon though, I’m gonna have to get back on the grind and hit several more scholarship applications and several more lessons so I don’t completely explode during my college music audition. Fun stuff!

This is out of nowhere but I feel like Kaneki would read a book from a “booktok” section of a bookstore, absolutely hate it, download tiktok just long enough to post a 38 part series of ten minute videos about why it sucked shit, start a million fights, then delete the app leaving a deranged mess of discourse in his wake.
