I used to spend hours on Makeup Alley, going through reviews and more recently, started writing reviews myself. Among the mineral foundation brands, Lucy Minerals has always been very popular, with it making to the top pages and consistently achieving a rating of over 4. Having visited the site, pondered and struggled over which shade(s) and foundation type (she has 4 types - original, oil control with calcium carbonate or silica and Lucy light), I finally bit the bullet and placed an order. The site was running a one-off special offer, where you get 2 mineral foundations, 1 finishing powder, 3 eyeshadows / mineral liners, 1 blush, 1 foundation brush, 1 concealer brush and 1 Vitamin C Serum for US$59. All are full sized products. I tried the foundation in shade Light yesterday, and by golly it's really creamy! Like no other mineral foundation I've ever used. And after washing my face later in the evening, my skin felt really soft and comfortable. Whatever happened to all those hives? Seems like they've all disappeared! Researching how the skin is cleaned has made the largest impact on my own skin. I've done countless search filters with all the major skincare stores. Every cleanser I come across, I look for the top 5 ingredients, and about 2/3 of the cleansers include either soap, SLS, an SLS adjacent soap, surfactant, and/or some sort of de-oiling ingredient.
