Boyfriend's sister and her husband arrived yesterday evening because I am taking them dog sledding today. They brought their dog with to boyfriend's house. 10 minutes after they arrived I began to have an allergic reaction. This was one of the worse ones I have had. I have also had this reaction when I met my sister's cat for the first time. Most other times I have had these reactions have been seemingly random. But this was absurd. I will go get an allergy test.

I work with 40 dogs at the kennel and have interacted with countless other dogs over the years, but in the last few years I have random allergic reactions sometimes when I meet a new animal. And this dog is so big and cute and soft and sweet and I want to love on him, but I can't ☹️ what kind of cruelty is that!

Okay, thinking back to last summer when I had those weird allergic reactions that we couldn't pinpoint, I am so much more confused now. At first I thought it was my sister's cat, but I'm not allergic to my cats or anyone else's cats?? Then the thought was perhaps my parents' dog, but, again, nobody else's dogs?? Not my dogs? And then I had another reaction at the stock car track and I thought for sure dog related because there were 2 dogs at the track that I had pet, but I've been out to Leon's 3 times now and his dogs have been allllll over me and I've never had a reaction to any of them. I've never had any allergic reactions like that prior to when I visited my parents' place and the only things that were different were my sister's cat and their dog. And I'd been to stock car before AND I'd pet those dogs before and not had a reaction. So idk what it was that triggered the reaction. There is literally no common denominator. Anything I can think of has also NOT caused me a reaction since.

My respiratory system is irritated and likely inflamed because my allergies are flaring up

I am so dumb
