Hello!

First, we would like to thank everyone who participated in our event - we are so grateful, and so excited, to see all the new and wonderful things you created!

Second, the spirit of generosity, kindness, and positivity within our ship and our fandom as a whole that we have seen from this event is genuinely inspiring, and we hope that it will carry us well through the New Year and on to Season 3!

Possession: A BloodBound spin-off

Author’s Note: I’m sorry for the lateness; I’ve been struggling with fatigue this week and it has wiped me out.

Pairing: Adrian Raines x Human!MC (Amy - Amelia for short)

Word count: 4'000+

Synopsis: Haunted by a reoccurring nightmare of Adrian, Amy must decide whether or not to confide in him… or conceal the truth.

Chapter 1: The Nightmare (Part II)

10 hours later…

Adrian sits adjacent to the window, having spent most of his day at a conference on the other side of the city, tapping his pen against the leg of his chair, his head swimming with thoughts of anything but business.

“Isn’t that right, Mr Raines?”

Adrian startles, quickly glancing up at the man standing at the foot of the table; the man stands tall, fingertips barely touching the surface as he regards Adrian with an apprehensive quirk of the brow, as if acknowledging the lack of attention being paid.

“I’m sorry,” Adrian clears his throat, slowly straightening his posture before relaxing back into his chair, “could you repeat the question?”

The man sighs, retrieving a stack of papers from his briefcase, “I need your co-operation, Mr Raines. If we are to discuss this matter further…”

“I understand,” he nods, “and I apologise for not giving you my full attention.”

“Whatever is taking up your time, is it something that I can help with? Something work related?”

“Personal,” he counters, “I can figure it out on my own.”

“It wouldn’t have anything to do with your assistant, would it?” Another voice chimes, his words spoken with an inquisitive tone, “That young lass with pretty eyes?"

“Yes,” Adrian grimaces at the comment, “but my relationship with her is not on the agenda for today.”

“Is she unwell?”

He shakes his head, pinching the bridge of his nose.

“If we can return to the topic in hand-”

“Well, it is if it’s going to impact your ability to-”

“Are you questioning my authority?”

The man meets Adrian’s gaze, who regards him with an intense glare; he visibly swallows, the tension in the room now palpable.

“N-no, I…I was merely stating that-”

Adrian tilts his head, his words laden with disinterest.

“Are you married, Mr Selzar? Or in a relationship of any kind?”

“Y-yes, but- I-I don’t see why that is relevant.”

“Then why, pray tell, is my relationship a topic of discussion?”

“Well, you…your…” he gulps, almost too stunned to speak, “you are the CEO, Mr Raines. Your image impacts the company, as does your assistant’s.”

A despondent sigh escapes Adrian before he clicks his tongue, moving to re-pocket his pen.

“Can we please refrain from referring to her as my assistant? Her name is Amelia.”

“I don’t believe that we’ve ever been introduced to…” he trails off, watching in confusion as Adrian rises from his seat, “have you got somewhere else to be?”

“Yes, I do.”

The man opens his mouth, but his words betray him. Instead, it is the other man that speaks first, confusion etched on his features.

“Has this got anything to do with what has been said? Because I did not come here to discuss personal matters-”

“Neither did I,” Adrian interjects, “I believe that it would be best for us to reschedule, at least then we would all be able to focus on the topic at hand.”

“With all due respect, Mr Raines, it is neither I nor Mr Selzar that has the issue.” He nods casually, “but if your personal life is more important than-”

“Yes it is,” Adrian counters, his disbelief at the man’s condescending attitude evident in his tone, “and the fact that you’re even asking me that tells me that you do not have one. yourself.”

“I…beg your pardon?”

“I think you heard me loud and clear.”

Adrian retrieves his laptop case from beside his feet, placing it atop his chair as he gathers the rest of his belongings.

“Now if you’ll excuse me, I have somewhere else I’d rather be…”

“But-”

“Gentlemen.”

Before the men have a chance to respond, Adrian leaves the room, quietly closing the door behind him. As soon as the door closes, he lets out a shaky breath, smiling proudly to himself as he makes his descent to the lobby.

Once the elevator arrives on the ground floor, Adrian takes his leave, casting a quick glance in the direction of reception before making his way towards the exit, his focus clearly elsewhere as he fumbles around for his phone. Once he has collected it from his pocket, he begins to dial Amy’s number, hoping that his efforts will prove successful.

But it isn’t.

Settling on the idea that Amy has probably fallen asleep, he endures the answer machine, listening intently for the sound of the tone.

“Hey,” he smiles softly, making a figure-8 with his keys as she swings it around his finger, “I’ve just finished for the day, so I’ll be back in around 20 minutes.” He stops abruptly as he passes an employee, bidding them farewell before returning his attention to the phone, “I’m going to stop by the store and get a few things. I thought that it would be nice to talk about things…maybe watch a movie or -”

“Adrian?”

The sound of his name makes him stop in his tracks, the familiarity of the man’s voice causing the colour to drain from Adrian’s face; he sighs, his eyes drifting closed momentarily before he regains his composure, his stoic countenance hardening across his features.

“I’ll see you soon, sweetheart.”

Adrian ends the call, tucking his phone into his blazer pocket as he turns to face the visitor, his voice firm and expressionless.

“Lucien. What a pleasant surprise,” he remains cautious, making sure that there is a sizeable distance between them, “to what do I owe the pleasure?”

“I need your help.”

“No.”

Lucien frowns, “I wouldn’t ask if I didn’t have to, but-”

“I said no,” Adrian reaches upwards, slowly starting to remove his tie, “we made a pact, Lucien. We agreed to never contact one another again.”

“I haven’t forgotten.”

“Then why are you here?” He places his hand atop of his hips, taking an almost confrontational stance, the bottom of his blazer hanging over his wrists, “that part of my life is done, Lucien. I’ve done everything in my power to distance myself from it.”

“I know that-”

“Then why darken my doorstep? Why go back on a promise that we both made to one another. A blood pact, no less.”

“Because I’m being followed,” he falls quiet, scratching the back of his neck, “or at least, I think I am. I don’t know who it is or what they are hoping to achieve, but…it’s getting worse.”

Adrian’s composure falters. Against his better judgment, he takes a step towards him, his brows knitting in confusion.

“In what way?”

“It was little things at first. Seeing the same face more than once in a day, shadows creeping up on me just for them to disappear as soon as I turn around, but now it…it’s non-stop. Constant eerie phone calls, notes covered in blood. I got a letter through the mail last week and it was an envelope full of photographs of me, and not ones that you’d find on someone’s social media or in a photo frame on someone’s wall. They were of me sleeping, at my desk…”

“And you didn’t sense anyone in your apartment?”

“No-one,” Lucien grimaces, tendrils of greasy blonde hair falling to cover his eyes, “no matter where I go, they don’t stop. The threats…the bodies…”

“Bodies?”

“A-at least 7 now…” he speaks with a questioning tone, as if now unsure of the true number, “and the blood…there’s so much of it all the time. It’s like this person has a fascination with torturing their victims until they can’t take any more pain.” He looks back at Adrian, who remains cautious, his face betraying nothing, “I know that you and I dabbled in the day-”

“I’m not talking about-”

“This is worse, Raines…” Lucien wipes his brow, beads of sweat now accumulating on his forehead, “and I don’t…I can’t quite understand how this is connected to me, but…and then the note about you, it-”

“What note?” Adrian interjects coldly, “what did this note say?”

“I have it with me,” he begins to fish around in his pockets, biting the inside of his cheek as he fumbles for purchase; eventually, he removes his hand, brandishing a blood-stained parchment. He opens it up with flourish, squinting as he tries to read its contents, “Tell Raines…he…is…NEXT. Then it has a couple of numbers…I’m not sure what to make of it, but-”

Adrian swiftly removes the note from his hand, scouring over its contents.

“When did you get this?”

“It was Saturday – no, last Tuesday. Saturday was the day I got the photos.”

“You mean to tell me that you’ve had this for a week?”

Lucien nods, “give or take a couple of-”

“And you didn’t think to tell me?!”

Lucien shrugs, “I was trying not to contact you about it. I wanted to respect your wishes…plus, to be fair, it’s not like you couldn’t butcher anyone that set foot in your home with malevolent intentions anyway, so I didn’t think it – why are you pacing?”

“You’ve had this information for nine days.”

“Again, I don’t see why it matters. You’re not exactly a pushover, are you?”

“This isn’t about me, this is-” he exhales sharply, closing his eyes in disbelief as he runs a shaky hand across his forehead, “whoever this is has my address…AND the password to access the penthouse.”

“So that’s what that was,” Lucien peers over Adrian’s shoulder, pointing at a selection of bloodied words at the bottom of the page, “I thought that’s what it – where are you g – Adrian!”

The vampire follows on after Adrian, struggling to keep up as Adrian rushes briskly to his car; Adrian opens the door, hurriedly clambering inside before starting up the engine. Unsure as to how he should proceed, Lucien makes the decision to enter the vehicle, closing the passenger door with a thud. As Adrian pulls out of his parking space, Lucien takes the time to ponder.

“You never said why you were so concerned about this creep being at your place,” he looks around the interior of the vehicle, quirking his brows in approval, “is there something that you don’t want he or she to-”

“Someone,” Adrian counters without hesitation, shifting gears, “there's someone.”

“I…didn’t expect that to still be the case,” Lucien tilts his head in thought, “Cecelia, right?”

Adrian shakes his head, his focus never straying from the road before them, his jaw clenched.

“Cecelia died over a century ago. This relationship is recent.”

“How recent are we talking?” Lucien grins brightly, the light-heartedness of their newfound conversation bringing a sudden warmth to their predicament, but his happiness is short-lived, the severity in Adrian’s tone bring him back to the present.

“I hope that it will last a lifetime, but that won’t be the case if something has happened to her because of your neglectful attitude to my well-being.”

“I didn’t know you had a girlfriend, Adrian.”

“You shouldn’t need to know anything about me,” he retorts snidely, shaking his head in disbelief, “you should have told me what was going on.”

“And risk putting a target on your back?”

“There’s already one there,” he sighs, turning right down 9th Street, “one that I now must deal with whilst keeping Amelia safe.”

“Her name is Amelia?” Adrian nods, “what does she look like?”

“You’ll probably see her soon enough, seeing as I’m guessing you will need somewhere to stay.”

“You’d have me?”

“I don’t really have much of a choice, do I?” He makes yet another turn into his garage, putting the vehicle into park before removing the key from the ignition, “we must have brought this upon ourselves somehow.”

“Do you think it could be connected to what happened in Minne-”

Before he has the time to finish his thought, Adrian gets out of the car, immediately making a beeline for the stairwell; Lucien has no choice but to follow on behind, taking note of their path should they suddenly find themselves in difficulty. Before long, the pair are approaching an elevator.

“So this girlfriend of yours,” Lucien queries, leaning his weight against the metal frame as he watches Adrian press a selection of keys; the door opens, revealing a spacious compartment, adorned with polished marble. Adrian and Lucien enter, the latter failing to cease his enquiry, “does she know that you’re a vampire?”

“Yes.”

“I bet that was a hard conversation to have, huh?”

Adrian shakes his head as the elevator begins its ascent, climbing quickly towards its destination.

“Not really. Amelia was very understanding.”

“So she didn’t scream or throw anything at you? Threaten you with the word of God?”

He makes a shape of the cross with two of his fingers, leaning back in mock horror.

“Stay back or I’ll-”

“Knock it off.”

To Adrian’s surprise, Lucien quietens, clasping his hands together; he rocks back on his heels, looking up at the ceiling.

“Is she pretty?”

“Yes.”

“How pretty? Like…Persephone pretty? Medusa before the-” he presses his palms against his temples, wiggling his fingers mid-air, “…serpent hair…”

“She’s the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.”

“Is she blonde?”

“Partially.”

“Naturally?”

“Brunette.”

“Ah,” Lucien nods, “and her eyes?”

“Brown.”

“Cool,” he whistles, “so is she up there now?”

“Most likely.”

“Does she live with you? Pay rent or…board, or something.”

“Why would I charge my girlfriend to stay at my place?”

“Some couples do, you know. Twenty-first century and all that. We’re all about equality now.”

“Well that’s good to hear,” Adrian replies tiredly, the constant bombardment of questions bringing him to the peak of social exhaustion, “but no, Amelia does not pay me anything. She is welcome to stay whenever and however long she wishes.”

The elevator dings, notifying them of their arrival; Adrian breathes a sigh of relief, for the moment of interrogation seems to have ended. As the doors open, his composure falters; he enters the penthouse with a sudden sense of urgency, quickly removing his blazer and tossing it across the back of a chair.

“Amelia?” He calls out, making a beeline towards the open study door, “sweetheart?”

When he receives no answer, he peers inside the room, only to find it uninhabited.

“Ames?”

Lucien holds back, instead choosing to inspect his surroundings as Adrian busies himself elsewhere; he reaches for a small wooden box, turning it over in his hands as he looks over its intricate design, a low whistle escaping him.

“You have a nice place here, Raines!” He bellows, loud enough to be heard, “very nice little trinkets.”

Adrian ignores him, his voice taking a panicked tone as he tries yet another door.

“Amelia?!”

“She could have gone out…maybe gone to do a little bit of-” Lucien falls silent, his eyes widening with intrigue as a young woman comes into view; he watches her closely, his lips curving with contempt as she enters the living room, seemingly oblivious to his presence. She rubs the tiredness from her eyes before walking over to the kitchen, collecting a glass from the cupboard.

“Raines?”

Amy spins around, her eyes widening as she lays her sights on Lucien; she startles, the glass slipping from her grasp and shattering around her feet, leaving her unable to move in fear of causing harm to herself.

Lucien, as if sensing her terror, lifts his hands in an attempt to de-escalate the situation. He moves forward, causing her to instinctively go to shy away, her foot mere centimetres from the ground as he speaks.

“Stay very still, alright?” He continues his approach, remaining calm and composed, “I didn’t mean to scare you.”

Amy lowers her foot, just to stop as he speaks once more, his volume having raised in warning.

“There’s a big shard of glass to the left of your heel,” he moves around the counter, now having full view of the situation, “and the bottom of the glass is slightly to the right.”

“Wh-who are-”

“Just a friend.”

He comes to a stop in front of her, crouching down to retrieve the shards in a cupped palm, “do you have any slippers? Any shoes that you could wear until I am sure that all the glass is gone.”

“I-I have some Uggs.”

“Great,” he beams brightly, casting a glance towards the door, “where are-”

“Amelia!”

Before either has a chance to respond, Adrian appears before them, the crease of his brow fading as he wraps his arms around her, drawing her further into his embrace.

“Feet.”

Adrian regards Lucien in befuddlement; he follows Lucien’s gaze as he looks to the floor, now aware of the glass that surrounds them. Adrian reaches up, gently caressing Amy’s face, the pad of his thumb ghosting her bottom lip.

“What happened?” He ponders, “are you hurt?”

Amy shakes her head.

“Forgive me for startling you,” Lucien collects the last of the glass, placing it swiftly in a container; he stands upright, extending a hand, “my name is Lucien. You must be Amelia, yes?”

For the first time since their meeting, Amy is able to get a proper look at their guest. For a while, she spies nothing of note…

…but then she sees the blonde undertones in his hair…

…and blue eyes, staring back at her.

Her own eyes widen in terror as flashes of crimson invade her vision, memories of the previous night’s torment etched in her mind like a broken record, unable to stop.

Amy cannot help but take a tentative step back, her weariness apparent for both men to see. Her body trembles slightly, enough for Adrian to take heed of the change in her disposition.

“Ames?” He tilts his head, “is everything okay?”

Before Amy is even able to offer up a response, Lucien chimes into the conversation, having picked up on the tension that has begun to cloud their conversation, her unease now visible to all.

“It’s probably best not to move until the floor has been vacuumed,” he speaks softly, trying to ignore the air of caution that has now befallen her, “there still might be some remnants on the ground that I have yet to spot.”

Amy remains quiet, her expression unyielding; not even the warmth of Adrian’s fingers as they graze the nape of her neck seem to rouse her from her predicament. A frown creases Adrian’s brow, concern etched in his once collected façade as he looks between the pair.

“What happened before I found you?” He leans in closer, his voice a gentle whisper, “what did he do?”

“I didn’t do anything.”

“I’m asking Amelia,” Adrian claps back, his focus never leaving hers, “did something happen?”

Amy shakes her head faintly.

“Are you certain?”

“She didn’t notice that I was here,” Lucien clasps his hands behind his back, bowing his head, “I said your name and it startled her. She dropped the glass on the floor and I told her not to move before I had cleared it up. That is all.”

“Is what he said true?”

Amy doesn’t answer, at least not at first; eventually, she nods, her gaze unwavering. Adrian sighs, wrapping his arms around her shoulders before pressing a tender kiss to her forehead. She closes her eyes instinctively at the contact. Lucien cannot help but watch on, a wistful smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

“How are you feeling? Did you manage to get to sleep?”

Amy nods.

“Was she not sleeping?”

Adrian shakes his head, burying his face into her hair as he continues to hold her close. It is only when he hears her muffled voice that the pair separate.

“Did you get any snacks?”

“I’m afraid not. Something…came up.”

“Is it anything that I can help with?” She speaks tiredly, covering her mouth in an attempt to stifle a yawn, “I’d l-like to if I could…”

“You’re helping plenty already,” Adrian replies kindly, affectionately stroking Amy’s cheek, “Lucien and I have something that we need to discuss, so we will be preoccupied this evening.”

“That’s fine,” she exhales slowly, “I can keep myself busy.”

“I’m afraid that it might take a few days to sort, so forgive me if I am not as present.”

“I can go back to my apartment if it would-”

“No,” his response is swift yet firm, but the brightness does not leave his eyes, “would you be able to stay here? At least until Lucien and I have dealt with everything?”

“Is it something bad?”

“Well…”

“It is nothing that you need to concern yourself with,” Adrian interjects, meeting Lucien with an icy glare, a silent warning as to what should come if he was to continue, “but Lucien will be staying with us for the foreseeable future, if that is alright with you?”

“S-staying?”

“I won’t get in the way,” Lucien offers a smile, but it does not reach his eyes; he begins to rap his fingers against his thighs, “and I will return him to you at before bed. I promise.”

“Is that alright?”

She shrugs weakly, feigning a pleased smile.

“Sure. Why not?”

“Thank you, Amelia,” Lucien holds out his hand in offering, waiting patiently for Amy to take it; to his surprise, she places her hand atop his open palm. He lifts it to his lips, placing a soft kiss upon her knuckles, “I hope that we can become firm friends one day.”

“Yeah…sure…”

Adrian places his hands on Amy's waist, lifting her up enough to re-position her feet atop of his. They start to walk in unison, the carefulness of his touch and guidance eliciting a smile from her as he leads the pair into the corridor and out of the path of shards, her bare feet completely free of cuts or scratches.

“Now if you’ll excuse Adrian and I,” Lucien follows, placing a hand on Adrian’s shoulder; Adrian grunts in disapproval, “we have an issue to attend to.”

Adrian nods, leaning in to kiss Amy’s cheek.

“Don’t wait up for me, okay? I don’t know how long I’m going to be.”

“I’m pretty tired, so I doubt it would be possible even if I tried.”

Adrian beams, his hands falling to rest on her hips, fingertips inching underneath her pyjama top as he captures her lips once more, his touch soft and laden with want.

“Sleep well, beautiful.”

He reluctantly steps away, only pausing to cast one last furtive glance in her direction before ushering Lucien into his office, closing the door behind them.

At the turning of the lock, Amy’s knees begin to buckle underneath her; she instantly grabs onto the edge of the countertop, squeezing her eyes shut as she tries to steady her quickening breath. She waits patiently for the moment to pass, only trying to move once she has managed to regain feeling in her legs.

“It can’t be…” she whispers to herself, her pulse failing to stabilise; she shakes her head, as if trying to rid herself of fear, her words shaky and uncertain, “n-no…no…I-I won’t let him...”

The next few moments crawl by like years, and Amy soon finds that she has surpassed the worst; not wanting to draw further attention, she carefully makes her way to the bedroom, her hand dragging along behind her as she uses the wall as an additional support. After a couple of minutes, she makes it…

…but she doesn’t get into bed.

She waits in quiet contemplation, her gaze darting between all four corners of the room, as if looking for something important. It isn’t long before she finds it – a small, metal briefcase, tucked discreetly under a pile of begotten books and blankets, its handle only visible in the dim light of the moon as it seeps through the curtains, casting a silvery shimmer on the wooden skirting. She does not hesitate, using her elbow to prop up the leather-bound spines as she partially exposes the case, undoing the clasp and prying it open just enough for her hand to reach inside.

After a minute of fumbling, she manages to find what she is looking for, her fingertips making purchase on something hard and jagged; she yanks it free from its casing and brings it into the light, making sure to replicate the initial layout of the area, ensuring that not a single detail is misplaced before moving over to her side of the bed, remaining quiet so that she may hear their footfall.

“Adrian will understand,” she whispers to herself, head bowed, “won’t he?”

A defeated sigh leaves her, followed by a wave of unease, as if her body is asking her to reconsider her decision - but she doesn’t.

Instead, she begrudgingly clambers into bed, making herself comfortable enough for sleep to come quickly.

…a wooden stake hidden deep inside her pillowcase.

Cadybear's Choices Reviews: The Masterlist + Ranking of Choices stories (Note: List is subject to frequent updates)

(Keep in mind, I'm initially posting this as purely the tierlist without links. As I start posting my reviews, I'll begin to fill it out with the links to the reviews.)

I've been compiling a Google Doc of reviews for all the Choices stories I've played and I figured, it's about time I started sharing them. So here's where I'm going to be collecting them all.

This collection of links to my reviews will be organized in a tierlist-style format. This tierlist is subject to changes.

Notes:

All reviews are subject to updated versions, ie. re-reviews, and its place in the tierlist may change as well. If I have to make a re-review for a story, it will get its own brand-new post. However, all reviews of a story will be included in the list.

Stories that are part of an anthology or are spinoffs will get separate posts. For example, ILB gets its own separate post from ILITW, HSS:CA gets its own separate review from OG HSS, Unbridled gets its own separate review from Untameable, Rivals with Benefits gets its own separate review from Roommates with Benefits. But I will still compare them to their respective predecessors in their reviews.

Stories that change their titles midway through the series but retain the storyline of the same MC will not be getting separate reviews for each title change. TRR and TRH will be reviewed together, all of TFS will be reviewed together. But this is subject to exceptions (eg. I might end up separating TRR and TRH reviews from each other)

Purple titles are stories I have played, and am able to create a substantial review for (generally due to having last played them recently).

Pink titles are stories I'm in the middle of playing or replaying. Keep in mind that some of these playthroughs may be on hiatus.

Uncolored titles are stories that I have played, but the review for it may not be very substantial or informed, as I played them a couple of years before I started collecting all my reviews together. I'm still making some form of review for it anyways because I would like to provide some context to the ranking I gave it. That, and, if I do get to playing it and re-reviewing it, I can have two reviews side-by-side to see how my opinions may or may not have changed.

Titles with a 🍇 next to them are reviews that are very long and detailed and "juicy". Like, the ones that are lengthier and/or more highly opinionated than others.

Diamond Tier: Choices’ Bests, 10 stars, YAAAAASSSS!

The books and series that clearly had the most effort and heart put into them. They’re not all perfect obviously, but they do feel like actual choice-making interactive stories, and they’re easily the most enjoyable of the bunch. These are the stories that other Choices stories should take notes from.

Bronze Tier: Unsure, Mixed Feelings, It’s Complicated. 5 stars. Ehhhhh.

The stories that are mixed bags. They aren’t really terrible, as there are some things they did right, but there’s also… so much that they did wrong. A lot of these could probably use a replay for the sake of giving it a second chance and forming a more solid opinion on it.

Wood Tier: Boring. 3 stars. Bleh.

The absolute snorefests of the app. Not only did they give nothing, but they were terrible at holding my interest and attention. They’re so poorly paced that even if they did have something of value, I completely missed it because I was either completely zoning out and/or I felt actual mental distress trying to follow the story. At least with the Stone Tier books, I could actually pay attention to the story without feeling like my brains were going to have a nuclear meltdown.

A Very Scandalous Proposal

**Sunkissed (played 5 chapters before quitting cause it was so boring)

Rotting Flesh Tier: Annoying. 2 stars. Uuuuggghhhh.

The stories that are legitimately painful to play through. Just downright frustrating and groan-worthy. They aren’t quite the worst, but they only do very little right. And it’s even more tragic because these premises maybe could have been done right. There are ideas for decent stories here, but they’re completely neglected.

PooPoo Tier: Literally the Worst. 1 star. AAAARRRRRGGGHHH.

The absolute dogshit stories. The biggest doodoofarts of the entire app. The complete bottom of the barrel. The stories that had me actually verbally raging and close to throwing my phone into the nearest wall. Everything about each of these is doomed from the beginning. Anything that could have been done right or even decently is done terribly. Rotting Flesh tier is merely the equivalent to prune juice; this tier however is the equivalent to bleach.

"Are you nervous?" Adrian asked, attentively looking at Amy. They were in a private room of his lab, where two beds had been set up for her and Alex. It was a small space but it had everything they could possibly need to assist them if there was a problem.

"A little." He smiled at her, compassionate and supportive.

"Everything will be fine. I promise." He tried to reassure her… And himself. "Even Ryder gave his approval." He added, with a slightly sarcastic tone.

"Because Nik is such an expert in the potion terrain,” Alex commented as Nik rolled his eyes while Amy let out a small chuckle.

“There are many things you still don’t know about me, rook.”

“If you say so.” Both women walked to the beds, looking at each other for a moment, before sitting on the mattresses. Amy took Alex’s hand, squeezing it. “I hope this works,” Alex said, her eyes fixed on the woman in front of her. Fixed on her own face. Alex returned the gesture.

“Me too.” Amy sighed. “Drinks on me if it does.” Alex giggled and Amy let a little smile out.

“You got yourself a deal.” They stood in silence until Adrian, gently clearing his throat, called their attention.

“If you are both ready, we may start.” He pointed to the scientists in the door who were carrying two identical glasses with the potion. Amy looked at Alex again and she nodded.

“We are.” As the liquid ran down Amy's throat, Adrian closely observed her. Amy, from Alex's body, looked at him as she was lying down. She winked at him although her smile was small and nervous. He walked over to her.

"I'll be right here." He knelt beside her and gently kissed her forehead. "Waiting for you."

"You've been doing that a lot lately." Adrian chuckled, holding her hand.

"I don’t mind." His fingers softly caress her hair.

“A man who doesn't mind waiting?” She leaned on his touch. “How did I get so lucky?” He softly chuckled again and sweetly smiled at her.

“You are worth any wait, Amy.” She blinked slowly and heavily. “And, believe me, I’m the lucky one.”

"Debatable." His hand cupped her right cheek, softly brushing with his thumb the soft skin under it. “Adrian… If this doesn't work, if anything happens…”

“I won't let anything bad happen to you, Amy. Not ever again.” Her eyes slowly drifted close as the potion quickly kicked on.

“I just don't want you to feel guilty.” She whispered as her breathing became shallow and her heartbeat slowed down drastically, her skin pale and a bit cooler as he tried to ignore the similarities with the night in the Met, ignoring his fear of losing her again.

“I won't be feeling anything more than happiness when you wake up.” With a small move of her head, she nodded. “And you will wake up sound and safe, Amy.” He said, desperately trying to believe his own words. “I promise.”

"See you soon." She said in a barely audible murmur.

"See you soon." He repeated as her hand went limp in his hold. He kissed her knuckles and reluctantly freed her hand, standing up.

Nik watched warily while Alex took the potion. He knew it was the right decision, and so far the only possible solution they had found, but, at the end of the day, he wasn’t ecstatic about it. He watched how her lips touched the glass and how in one fast motion, the liquid had disappeared. She lay on the mattress, and after one second of hesitation, he sat beside her. Amy and Adrian were softly speaking beside them so he just focused on her. “Alex…” With a little hesitation, he guided his hand towards hers, taking it as gently as possible. “I will be watching over you, rook.”

“Because you have to?”

“‘Cause… You are important to me.” He noticed the tiny smile that lifted the corners of her lips and the light squeeze of her fingers around his.

“Glad to hear it.” She sighed deeply, her head falling to the side as her eyelids felt heavy like she hadn't slept in days. “I know there's a lot we need to talk about… And that a lot has happened lately but… I’m glad you are here, Nik.”

“There’s no other place in the world I would prefer to be, Alex.” Her eyes were finally closed and her whole body seemed drained, looking vulnerable as the day that Thomas attacked her. He stood, almost at the same time as Raines, and walked beside him to the chairs in front of the beds.

A few minutes later, Nik cut the silence. "You know, I didn't know vampires could be so... sappy," Adrian smirked at Nik's words.

"Of course we can. We are not nighthunters after all." He crossed his arms over his chest, never looking away from the two women.

"C'mon Raines, I did my homework." Adrian turned his focus to him and lifted his brow. "Your past precedes you, pal."

"It might. I won't deny that I have done … dreadful things in my past. Things I'm not proud of, but I deeply regret them." For a moment, Nik saw pain and regret in his face. He wondered if he had the same expression when he talked about his own past. “But I changed. I left all that behind me.”

"Does she know?" Nik asked with a head gesture referring to Amy.

"Most of it." Nik nodded, pensive. “She’s a Bloodkeeper. I wouldn’t be able to hide my past from her even if I wanted to.” He smiled, looking proud of Amy. "And I don’t want to. She deserves honesty." For a moment the only sound in the lab room was the distant noise of the machines from the other part of the lab. Both Amy's and Alex's heartbeats had slowed to a near stop. “Does Alex know about your private conversation with the Fate?” Nik narrowed his eyes with suspicion and Adrian smirked. “I did my homework as well.” He considered Raines' words, assessing his answer.

“No. She didn’t say much.”

“I see.” Adrian looked at the timer that had been set up above the beds. Only forty minutes had passed and the nerves were settling in by the second.

Nik stood, taking a few steps around. “Goddammit.” He said, frustrated, stopping in front of Alex's body. “This is torture.”

“I agree.” Adrian put his hands together, tightly, until he sighed and relaxed again. “But unfortunately, there's nothing we can do right now. Just wait.”

“I know that,” Nik said with clear irritation in his voice. “You seem calm, tho.”

“I'm terrified,” Adrian responded with such sincerity that Nik turned to watch him, surprised, as the vampire walked to the side of Amy's bed with a complex look in his eyes. “It's the second time that I have to watch Amy unconscious for hours desperately wanting that she will be okay. The second time I'm scared to lose her.” A deep sigh escaped him. “Feeling powerless to help her.”

“...I understand the sentiment.” Nik put his bow against the wall, near to him but lowering his ward for the first time. “If Alex doesn't wake up…” He ran his fingers through his hair. “I really hurt her, you know? I need to fix it.” He trailed off, with regret. “I can't lose her. Not again.”

“It seems our concerns are similar.” Adrian took off his blazer and loosened the tie around his neck.

“Looks like it.” Seconds turned to minutes and minutes to hours as time slowly passed. According to Ivy, the minimum waiting time was five hours, and the maximum time was eight hours. If the clock marked more, the results could be catastrophic.

Decided to finally redo that awful art of Adrian using assets from Bloodbound Books One and Two, and Bloodbound Origins.

It's only rough since I just edited bits together, cleaned up some awkward bits, rescaled Adrian's hair from his normal portrait, redid part of the desk behind him to hide Nicole's legs from book one, and re-edited his waistcoat from the animated fight scene in book two with Vega, but it's better than the first chapter cover for Bloodbound Origins.

The original screenshot of the chapter cover I used for the suit is from a screencap by @mynotsohealthyobsession, and the text interface is from the screenshot originally posted by @whatsthesituati0n.

Just something edited in Photoshop I thought the Bloodbound Fandom could enjoy.

the fic i'm most proud of is The Oblivion Bound Series; a gritty re-imagining of the Bloodbound & Nightbound series from pixelberry's PlayChoices app game. at 5 books (& counting) & including some of my most intricate lore and plotting work i still think it's my best series of pieces to this day

but the story i'm most proud of has to be The Disaster Duo Chronicles; the Obey Me! fic/series/roleplay i've been working on with @houselamentation for almost 2 years now. we've gone way beyond canon and into our own realm of demon-inspired madness & honestly creating with lia is my favorite thing to do all day every day

if it's not been made obvious by now probably anything fantasy/paranormal/etc. it's where i get to express a lot of my best creative ideas

Anyway, this is like the 3rd Fallen banner we got. They were pretty good at the time, but not must summoned like new year’s (The demon Edelgard cometh). They is room for improvement for sure. Additionally, everyone here has “alts” that we can pull inspiration from.

Corrin: Bloodbound Beast

Lvl. 40 5 ☆ 42/38/38/33/26 Max Invest: 52/48/48/42/36

Brutal Breath: Grants Spd+3. Grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+X during combat. (Calculates X based on number of allies within 2 spaces of unit: 0 allies grants +5; 1 grants +3; 2 grants +1; ≥3 allies grants +0.) If the number of allies within 2 spaces is ≤ 1, inflicts Special cooldown charge -1 on foe per attack during combat. (Only highest value applied. Does not stack.) If foe's Range = 2, calculates damage using the lower of foe's Def or Res.

Glimmer - Atk/Spd Solo 4 - Null Follow-Up 3 - Rouse Spd/Def 3

Yawn. It’s fallen Corrin but now a dude. Well, while f!Fallen!Corrin was “Oh-noes, I’m coming down with a dragon fever,” m!Fallen!Corrin is a feral hound, so they are diffrent. I actually used m!F!Corrin to theorycraft f!F!Corrin refine a year ago, and now we’re going the other way. It’s like poetry or something.

Brutal Breath: Grants Spd+3. Grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+X during combat. At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 25% and unit's Atk > foe's Res, unit's first attack deals damage = X% of difference between stats (X = 30 - number of allies within 2 spaces of unit × 10; min 0%).

For the base effect, we increase the stat bonuses based on unit’s surrounding allies. Then, he had just Guard. I felt, since f!Corrin refine gave penalty nullification, we need something better for m!Corrin, otherwise, we increase the allotted allies. I could having the Scowl effect from the last batch of Tiki alts, or we go more beast mode with Special Fighter. After that, it’s the same as f!Corrin.

Lyon: Demon King

Lvl. 40 5 ☆ 40/40/16/32/35 Max Invest: 50/50/25/41/46

Blood Tome: Grants Atk+3. If foe uses bow, dagger, magic, or staff, reduces damage from area-of-effect Specials by 80% (excluding Røkkr area-of-effect Specials) and reduces damage from foe's attacks by 50%, and if foe is also colorless, grants weapon-triangle advantage to unit and inflicts weapon-triangle disadvantage on foe.

Sol – Bonus Doubler 3 – Null C-Disrupt – Rouse Atk/Res 3

OH-SNAP it’s Demon King Fomortiis! Well, not yet. I was surprised actually that we got him as a Mythic unit 3 years after this possessed Lyon alt. Fallen!Lyon is bring an very early version of the damage reduction we just can’t get enough of now. Just like Nagi, he has 80% damage reduction to AOE attacks, and weapon-triangle advantage against colorless foes. The downside is that it’s only against ranged units. No advantage against melee foes, not even colorless dragons or beasts. I know why, we were not prepared for a close counter infantry mage that could tank damage solely through damage reduction, but now that DR is getting countered left right and center, let’s change it up.

Blood Tome: Grants Atk+3. At the start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 50%, or if foe uses bow, dagger, magic, or staff, reduces damage from area-of-effect Specials by 80% (excluding Røkkr area-of-effect Specials), grant Atk/Def/Res+5 to unit during combat, reduces damage from foe's attack first attack by 50%, reduces damage from foe's second attack onward by 80%, and if foe is also colorless, grants weapon-triangle advantage to unit and inflicts weapon-triangle disadvantage on foe.

So, here we have an incredibly dodge tanky mage. Instead of stopping the foe from doubling, he makes the double impossible to hurt. Instead of working against just ranged units, it now allows him to take at least one round of combat if the foe attacks in melee range. And he can now get the Raven tome effects against colorless dragons, if he is healthy. With all this tank power, he is missing something important, killing his opponent. Let’s fix that with.

At the start of combat, If foe initiate combat or foe’s HP ≥ 75%, grant Atk/Def/Res+5 to unit, increase damage by 10% of unit's Atk, grants unit a guaranteed follow-up attack and Special cooldown charge +1 per attack to unit during combat (only highest value applied; does not stack).

Vengeful Fighter + true damage based on Atk. Basely, his Def and Res were comparably good, but his Atk stat was higher. He will be going +6 true damage with this new weapon alone and get +7-9 with proper investment. Now you just need to pick either Atk/Def or Atk/Res to specialize into. Julia: Heart Usurped

Iceberg - Atk/Res Solo 4 - Light and Dark - Panic Smoke 3

Light and Dark: Inflicts Atk/Spd/Def/Res-2 on foe, neutralizes foe's bonuses (from skills like Fortify, Rally, etc.), and disables foe's skills that "calculate damage using the lower of foe's Def or Res" during combat.

At this point in the game’s life, Julia was designated as the dragon slaying mage, with her legendary and original versions both having dragon effective tomes, neutralizing the adaptive damage which allowed her to tank dragons damage with her high Res, and that’s it. Other heroes have effective damage and can still double. Here comes Fallen Juila, and she’s designated as mage that nukes everyone, who doesn’t have a dragon effective weapon, similarly to Julius. While she has Light and Dark, the solo condition she needs to get Atk/Res-6 on foe, then a follow-up if the foe isn’t effective against dragons, is just not good.

Dark Scripture: Grants Atk+3. If unit initiate combat or is adjacent to ≤ 2 allies, inflicts Atk/Res-6 on foe and unit makes a guaranteed follow-up attack during combat, and also, if foe does not have "effective against dragons," neutralize effects that prevent unit's follow-up attacks.

So now, she is getting what is basically an inheritable weapon, with the added flare of “if the foe isn’t effective against dragon, it’s a NFU charged guaranteed. So, is it like Dragon Ire? Yes, it’s like dragon Ire, except she needs to initiate combat or “solo-lite”. Hmm. This gives me an idea. What if fallen Julia was just a dragon.

At the start of combat, unit’s HP ≥ 25%, grant Atk/Res+6 to unit during combat, and also, if foe does not have "effective against dragons", grant the following effects; if unit's Res > foe's Res, reduces damage from attacks during combat and from area-of- effect Specials (excluding Røkkr area-of-effect Specials) by percentage = difference between stats × 4 (max 40%); if foe's Range = 2, calculates damage using the lower of foe's Def or Res; If unit is not adjacent to an ally, unit can counterattack regardless of foe's range.

Okay, breaking it down. So long as she is above 25% and the foe does not have dragon effectiveness she gets Dragon Wall, adaptive damage against ranged weapons, and if she is truly solo, she get’s close counter. The Dragon Wall is something she shares with her Legendary alt and Julius. The adaptive damage is just to counter all the Res tank mages (and Res tank bow, daggers, or staffs) just like breath weapon. The only other mage that has adaptive damage is NY!Reginn with her Seiðr Shell, so this can give her a niche. Finally, since Juila got Close Counter only against dragons, I wanted her to get close counter against all non-dragon slaying foes, but we still haven’t got a real distinct Close Counter weapon since Shinon, and his is a solo condition. Since Juila already had a solo condition, I’m putting it back in for the very exclusive ability. So, yeah, Juila is sort of a dragon now.

Ike: Zeal Unleashed

Chaos Ragnell: Unit can counterattack regardless of foe's range. Grants bonus to Atk/Spd/Def/Res during combat = current penalty on each of unit's stats × 2. (Example: if unit has -7 penalty to Atk, grants Atk+14, for a net bonus of Atk+7.) Calculates each stat bonus independently.

Mayhem Aether - Darting Breath - Repel 3 - Atk/Spd Oath 3

Mayhem Aether : [CD-4] During combat, treats foe's Def/Res as if reduced by 50%. Restores HP = 50% of damage dealt.

Next is F!Ike, the radest Ike there is. What? He always had sunglasses. He was just L!Ike but with, what we now call, Grand Strategy in his weapon, no condition. Good chance, what ever I.S. gives has a refine, it will be better than L!Ike. Rip.

At the start of turn, inflict Atk-7 and [Panic] on unit and nearest foe's within 4 tile radius. If foe initiate combat or foe's HP ≥ 75%, grant Atk/Spd/Def/Res+4 to unit and inflict Spd/Def-X on foe during combat (X = number of [Bonus] and [Penalty] effects active on unit × 4; max 16; excludes stat bonuses and stat penalties)

First, he’s getting +4 if he is above 25% or has Penalties. Then, and hang with me here, he inflicts Atk-7 and [Panic] like a Meance skill on foes and himself. Wow, he inflict himself with penalties, crazy. Panic, if you didn’t know, covert bonus into penalties, and due to his weapon, they are converted back into bonuses. Stacking this with L!Robin [Grand Strategy] makes him 2 times the bonuses. He then gets another +4 and inflicts Spd/Def penalties on foe equal to all the keyword penalties both he and his opponent has. The [Panic] on both makes it +8. This does mean you should pair him with a status debuffer or he needs to fight another status debuffer. Overall, instead of making him a Aether spammer, he's a raid boss like he always was.

Ashnard: Mad King

Lvl. 40 5 ☆ 43/37/21/35/31 Max Invest: 53/47/30/45/41

Gurgurant: Neutralizes "effective against flying" bonuses. Grants Def+3. Inflicts Atk/Def-5 on foes within 2 spaces during combat.

Dragon Fang - Distant Def 3 - Even Atk Wave 3

It’s Ashnard! He does a little trolling.

So here’s another GHB wyvern, but this one a sword, and has a perf. It’s just Iote’s Shield and Atk/Def Rein (before Rein was a thing). He’s also a tank with low spd, so he has stats to work with.

Neutralizes "effective against flying" bonuses. Grants Def+3. Inflicts Atk/Def-5 on foes within 3 spaces during combat. At start of enemy phase, inflicts [Guard] on foes within 3 spaces of unit.

Okay, so, like. You know how Ashnard had Daunt? And you know how Gurgurant is able to neutralize enemy crits (unless they have Wrath) Well, here’s the combo of it. The Rein is getting upgraded to a hold skill, and he’s inflicting Guard on foe’s within that 3 tile radius. I figured, since we havn’t gotten anyone that provides “Inflicts Special cooldown charge -1 on foe’s within a 2 tile radius per attack,” that it might be to powerful, un-counter-able. When Timerra got her Halloween alt, she got this instead, but a larger AoE, and she already had a personal skill from Engage that lowered enemy crit in an AoE. So now, he just applies [Guard] to foe’s in a 3 tile radius, this supportive skill should keep him relevant in the future like Arion with his [Charge].

(Example: if unit has -7 penalty to Atk, grants Atk+14, for a net bonus of Atk+7. Calculates each stat bonus independently.), unit makes a guaranteed follow-up attack, and restore 7 HP to unit after combat.

As for the juicy bits, Ashnard, in this alt, is under the influence of the chaos medallion, just like Fallen!Ike. So I’m giving him the Grand Strategy switch that Ike got, along with guaranteed follow-up and 7 HP of healing after combat, since he came with Renewal as well.
