I am obsessed with the 2018 Staged Production of Les Mis. Raymond Walsh checks every single Grantaire box for me and I cannot get enough. Don’t get me wrong, I love Ramin and Hadley and their exchange after R’s Drink With Me verse lives rent free in my head. But there is something about Raymond Walsh’s Grantaire that I find so endearing. I also love Bradley Jaden’s interpretation of Enjolras as well. I think he is really brick accurate in his treatment of Grantaire. I love the annoyed looks he gives R during Red and Black and how R seems to really enjoy pushing him. Grantaire’s love for Enjolras feels a bit more one-sided than some ExR’s I have seen, but I almost *maybe* prefer that?? I love a tragic unrequited love story.

All of that to say, has anyone seen the arena tour yet that can report back?? I am salivating for some clips of Raymond Walsh!!

DC and Marvel both had so many obscure characters back in the 40s and 50s. I mean...a lot of those old national and timely comics had multiple features in one issue. I haven't read many of them, but i know they do due to reading about it all off of wikis. Marvel/Timely had the Whizzer, the original Angel, the original Vision, Red Raven, Blue Diamond, Jack Frost, the Blonde Phantom, the Thin Man (a stretching hero made even before plastic man!), etc.

Meanwhile, DC had a lot of minor characters too, who we really don't talk about much. Air Wave, the original Mr. Terrific, Liberty Belle, Slam Bradley, Roy Raymond, Mark Merlin, Doctor Thirteen, Sargon the Sorcerer, etc. Both companies have an abundance of characters from those old decades, and they don't seem to do much with them. Which is a shame, because I'm sure you could make good use of all these characters.

i remember when i went to the west end to see les mis. it was my first show ever, i was sooo happy and excited and next to me there was a elder couple and at the end of the show i was obviously crying my eyes out and the old man looked at me and went "they were really great weren't them" in the nicest tone ever and i was like "yeah it was amazing it's like my first show and i came all the way from france to see it i'm just really happy" and his smile went even bigger and he went "oh i saw the first cast back in the 80's but this cast may be even better !" and idk that was one of the most wholesome interaction i have ever had
