Red Sox Thump Twins 11-5.
Twins 5 Red Sox 11 W-Houck (3-0) L-Maeda (0-3)
The Minnesota Twins closed out their East Coast road trip today with the rubber match against the Red Sox on a beautiful day in Boston. The Red Sox were early from the start as Alex Verdugo led-off and crushed a Kenta Maeda slider out to right for a solo homer. Maeda got through two innings and was hit in the leg by a comebacker. The Red Sox got back to work against Emilio Pagan in the third. Alex Verdugo reached on an infield single and Rafael Devers doubled him home. Later in the inning, Masataka Yoshida hit a run-scoring single to center and the Red Sox lead grew to three. Connor Wong plated a pair with a single to center and the rout was on in Boston. Jarren Duran drove in two more with a double to center. Boston had a seven-run lead after three innings of play. The Twins found some offense in the fifth when Willi Castro lined a ground-rule double to left and Max Kepler doubled him home. The Twins got within six midway through the game. Boston kept adding on in the bottom of the fifth when Kike Hernandez led-off with a base hit. Triston Casas walked and Jarren Duran hit a sac fly to center. Yu Chang followed with a blast off a Jorge Alcala fastball and sent it over the Green Monster. This put the Red Sox up 10-1 after five frames. The Twins wouldn’t go away in the seventh as Jose Miranda led-off with an infield single. With two outs, Willi Castro deposited a Tanner Houck slider out to right for a two-run blast. The Twins were within a touchdown heading into the stretch. Tanner Houck finished off seven solid innings and Kaleb Ort put up a zero in the eighth. Christian Arroyo started an eighth inning rally with a double to left. Masataka Yoshida lined a run-scoring single to left and the Boston lead grew to eight. The Twins tried to chip away in the ninth as Nick Gordon doubled to left and Christian Vazquez single him in. Max Kepler singled and Donovan Solano walked to load up the bases with two outs in the ninth. Eddie Julien kept the game moving with a base hit to center, but Max Kepler was tagged out between third base and home to end the game.
-Final Thoughts- Kenta Maeda got through two innings and allowed a run on one hit with a walk. He exited after taking a liner off his leg and walked off the field. He was getting x-rays during the game. Emilio Pagan retired five men on and gave up six runs with a strikeout. Jorge Alcala went 2 1/3 innings and allowed three runs. Jovani Moran allowed a run in 1 2/3 innings with two strikeouts. Willi Castro recorded the final out of the eighth. Willi Castro and Max Kepler led the offense with two hits each on the day. The team hit 4-for-7 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base. This was a rough day for the Twins, who didn’t have a long man after Brent Headrick threw three innings last night. The Twins will return home to start a long ten-game homestand. Trevor Williams will face Tyler Mahle as the Nationals come to Target Field for the second time ever.

Howlin’ Rays, 800 S Arroyo Pkwy, Pasadena, CA 91105
Good fried chicken seems to make people very chatty. The customers at Howlin’ Rays like to talk to each other. The cashier doesn’t just take your order, he engages you in a conversation. When they call your number and you pick up your food, Mario talks to you too. The wait staff checked in on me FIVE times. Several employees introduced themselves. Wow, kinda exhausting if you’re anti-social like I am. But I have to say, the service is amazing.
The place has a club like vibe with rap music playing (you can hear it from the outside) and if you’re a customer, you’re treated like a club member. The food is wonderful. Portions are generous. Top notch all around. It’s a real experience. The line moves slow because of all the conversations that occur. I waited in line for 35 minutes. The line wasn’t long but it takes each person/party about 2 minutes to order. Once I placed my order, I waited 10 minutes for my order. They’ll call your number over a loudspeaker when your order is ready.
The menu is short – fried chicken (quarter bird, half bird, tenders, wings), the fried chicken sando, sides, extras, wine, beer, and canned beverages. On weekends they have chicken & waffles. The heat level ranges from country to Howlin’. Don’t get the Howlin’ – it’s painfully hot to the point where it’s no longer enjoyable or tasty. It gave me heartburn and I almost never get heartburn. And I love extra spicy food.
X-hot tenders ($12), 3 jumbo tenders served over a slice of white bread with pickles. I didn’t see the word jumbo. Biggest tenders I’ve ever seen. I ate one and took the rest home. The batter was thin and slightly crunchy. X-hot is very spicy. If you’re getting the Sando, X-hot is fine because the other ingredients tone down the heat. If you’re getting the tenders, I recommend toning it down to hot because the spices are intense. They’ll make your mouth tingle. The chicken was tender but it was harder to enjoy because the spices were so intense – and I love spicy food.
Shake fries ($4): long, crispy, hot crinkle fries with an addictive blend of spices. So good. Could make a meal of these. Love dipping them in comeback sauce (like Thousand Island, a sweet, tangy, creamy sauce)
Vinegar slaw: I didn’t order this but they gave me some for free because they’re generous like that. The cabbage slaw was quite sweet but I think the point is to eat it with the spicy chicken.
It’s not a place to go for a quick lunch. The wait to place an order is usually longer than 30 minutes.
Howlin’ Rays Adidas shoes just came out – for hardcore Howlin’ fans.
4.5 out of 5 stars

Murphy’s Law
Hellooo. This has been sitting in my drafts for a minute and right now I think everyone needs a little break from the stress. The idea for this fic is the missing scene from when Jessica pulls Gil out of the trunk to when Malcolm gets to the hospital because it’d take 2 hours. I hope y’all enjoy this little exploration it was a lot of fun to write and plan this out with my best friend. The title is based on literally murphy’s law where “anything that can go wrong, will go wrong”
Jessica tries her best to keep her breathing steady, to not focus on what happened and put all of her attention into driving.
God when was the last time that she’s driven a car at all?
15 years ago, maybe. Ainsley had a fever, she was alone. Malcolm was at Gil’s, she didn’t have a choice. She was so scared…
It’s the closest she’s ever come to calling Martin, herself. The thought fills her mouth with disgust and she has to shake her head to force the memories away. For the slightest moment she’s thankful for Gil’s taste in old cars. It’s similar to the one she was taught to drive in, it feels more automatic than she would know what to do with in a much newer one, one that she might own. Her hands clench even tighter around the steering wheel.
This was so much worse than a fever.
It’s the sound of Gil’s breathing, as labored as it is that keeps her tears from falling. As long as he’s still breathing she still has time. The smell of blood is overwhelming, all of her senses are so damn overwhelmed.
She almost cries in relief at seeing the hospital.
She pulls in quickly in front of the giant emergency room sign. She spares only a moment looking around, pleading that she sees some doctor or nurse on a break. With no such luck she runs back over to the other side of the car pulling the door open.
Her heart drops when she sees his eyes are closed. Gil,” She calls to him softly. The tears come down in full force when she sees his chest rise and fall. “Come on,” She reaches in pulling him out of the car but he’s a dead weight against her. “Gil please I need you to wake up.” She sobs. “You need to help me, come on.” He doesn’t wake, he’s completely unconscious either of blood loss or pain.
She pulls on him but stumbles backwards. She loses balance in her heels under the weight of the two of them. Her ankle twists painfully before she hits the pavement with him in her lap.
“Somebody help me!” She screams in desperation. Sobs wrack her frame as she holds her hand over the wound trying to stop the bleeding. Her head bows as she hears the doors slide open, three sets of feet racing towards them. A fourth comes wheeling a gurney and just like that he’s lifted off and away from her.
A man helps her to her feet and she’s back into action once again. “What’s his name? What happened?”
“His name is Lieutenant Gil Arroyo with major crimes. He was stabbed and dragged into the back of a trunk. I wrecked into the car to get him out.”
The man nods his thanks, turning his full attention to Gil. “Lieutenant, we’re going to do our best to help you.”
“His blood type is A positive, he has no allergies, and he’s on no medication.” She follows the gurney along until a hand stops her, grabbing at her elbow.
“Mrs. Arroyo, you can’t go in. You need to let the doctors do their work.” She turns to the voice. A much younger blonde woman looks at her with a softness that hurts so badly. That’s the kind of compassion that this world tears apart. She would be eaten alive.
“I’m not-” She tries to correct the girl, but sobs take over once again. “I can’t leave him.”
“I need to get you checked out, okay?” She asks. “You said you wrecked the car, correct?” Jessica tries not to let her irritation bubble to the surface with a sigh.
“I’m fine.”
“It’s only procedure ma’am.” Jessica looks down at her again. Her eyes, they remind her so much of Ainsley. “Let me help you.” She nods following her to a spare bench.
“What’s your name?” She asks weakly.
“Tiff.” She smiles gently. “Yours?”
“Jessica, Jessica Whitly.” Realization settles over the girl’s face.
“Oh. I’m sorry I assumed you were married to Lieutenant Arroyo.” Jessica swallows the guilt at the back of her throat. Maybe, once upon a time, that could’ve been a possibility. She’s almost relieved when the girl doesn’t seem to recognize her. “Can you tell me, completely, what happened?”
“Depends, would you believe me?” Sarcasm, her best defense, coats her tongue.
“I’ve seen a man who lived through getting rebar through the skull and make a full recovery. Try me.” Jessica sighs, detailing the horrors of the night to this poor girl as she checked on her. She winced slightly when the girl grabbed the ankle that had twisted but otherwise, she was unharmed.
Just then the doors burst open and they wheeled Gil quickly out of the room. She stood up, ready to follow when the girl puts a hand on her shoulder. “They’re taking him back to the operating room. He just stabilized enough to move him.” The girl’s eyes fall to her hands, still stained a deep red with blood. “Other than a sprained ankle I think you’re perfectly fine. We’ll need to do an x-ray for confirmation but that can wait. Let’s get you cleaned up, ok?”
She nods, numbly following the girl to the nearest bathroom. She washes her hands wishing that she could get rid of the smell burning her nose. She knows it’s stained her dress and the shoes, even though they’re black she can still smell it.
“Does he have anyone you can call? A wife? Next of kin?” Jessica almost laughs.
“I’m his emergency contact.” She sighs. “His wife died three years ago. No children.”
“Well he was very lucky you were here. Not many people would know that much information. It was very helpful.”
“God, I need to call my son.” She looks around for her purse, surely she must have had it. Maybe she left it in the car. “He’s like a father to him he’s-” Oh god, Malcolm is probably on a plane by now. She’d given Gil the money to get him out of the country until his accusations cleared up. She needs to try. “Did you see my-”
Her question stops in her tracks as she remembers what happened again. She’d left her purse behind when she smashed the plate into Nicholas’ head. She stashed her phone inside when she tried to call 9-1-1.
“I lost my phone.” A bitter laugh escapes her. Tears fall all over again, ones of frustration at the world.
“You can borrow mine.” She makes a mental note to look into the girl later. Truly pay her back for the help that she’s given. “I can bring you to the waiting room if you’d like, maybe I can wait with you until your son comes.”
“You don’t have to do that.”
“I want to.” She smiles sadly. “You shouldn’t have to be alone right now.”
“Thank you.” She whispers.
Her fingers shake as she dials Malcolm’s number. She bites her lip as the phone rings twice, trying to think of what the hell she was supposed to say to him.
“Mother?”
She almost cries with relief. “Malcolm,” She sighs.
“Mom, what’s wrong?” She can almost see him sitting up, looking around in a panic.
“Gil’s in the hospital. He was stabbed.”
“I’m in Connecticut, I’ll be there as soon as possible. Don’t leave, it’s not safe. I’ll call Dani and JT so they can come to the hospital. They’ll sit with you until I can get there. Where’s Ainsley? Where’s your phone?”
The rapid fire statements throw her off as she catches up Malcolm on what happened. She almost loses all sense of where she is until she feels something heavy settle on her shoulders. The blanket is a welcome warmth against the frigid hospital air.
She calls Ainsley too but she’s stuck in the office until she can get out of the emergency press meeting. She promises to pick her up some clothes from the house before coming over after she gets off, though. It will be a welcome relief to get out of the dress that feels like it’s suffocating her. The intern, Tiff, has to leave shortly before either Dani or JT arrive, but it’s not without her having the ability to thank her for her kindness.
She will feel better when Malcolm and Ainsley both are there. Until then, she holds desperately onto what little control of her life she has left.
After all, it couldn’t possibly get worse.

From the Most Murderous Era in American History, a Vintage True Crime Tale Set Among Los Angeles' Glassy Towers and Endless Ribbons of Asphalt The Darkest Glare A True Story of Murder, Blackmail, and Real Estate Greed in 1979 Los Angeles By Chip Jacobs
In 1979 the City of Angels had its fair share of devils. Howard Garrett was one of them. His contractor's license bought him an entrée into a Space Matters, a real estate development company run out of a hip mansion on the edge of LA's Miracle Mile district. The company's owners, debonair, slick-talking Richard Kasparov and self-conscious, nerdy Jerry Schneiderman, were L.A.'s Young Turks of interior architecture.
When Richard interviewed the quiet, buzzard-faced Howard, he figured he'd found the perfect supervisor to oversee construction for a firm hungry to expand. What neither he nor his partner Jerry knew was that by hiring Howard, they'd unloosed a monster into their midst. In The Darkest Glare: A True Story of Murder, Blackmail and Real Estate Greed in 1979 Los Angeles (Rare Bird Books; ISBN 978-1644281918; on sale March 9, 2021; $18.00), author and journalist Chip Jacobs recounts a spectacular, noir true-crime saga from one of the most murderous times in American history.
It's 1979 and future NBA stars Magic Johnson and Larry Bird are meeting on the court for the first time, Laverne & Shirley is the most watched show on TV, and the Los Angeles murder rate is the highest in recorded history. Even before Howard Garrett entered Richard and Jerry's lives, he had managed to slither away from a series of brutal crimes unprosecuted. But if Howard was the violent one of the trio, Richard was its resident grifter. As the firm expanded, Richard figured out ways to bleed the company dry for his own gain, including by hitting up Howard to put up his credit line in service of the company. When Richard's grift is exposed, Jerry cuts all ties to him while a - by now - enraged Howard loses everything. Using his steel blue El Camino to stalk his victims and X-ray glower to intimidate everyone, Howard unleashes his blood thirsty vengeance and decides to create a murder-for-hire corporation employing a motley crew of junkies and bottom-scrapers. The first targets: the owners of Space Matters.
But Howard's band of would be assassins bungled through his scheme time and again in scenes more reminiscent of The Three Stooges than The Godfather. It took almost a dozen tries to kill the first Space Matters partner, Richard. Jerry - the surviving partner and unlikely hero of the story - blackmailed and threatened, finds himself in an odyssey of disguises, getting not-so-legal, legal advice from his lawyer while surreptitiously meeting in a graveyard, seeking protection from a charismatic, ex-Israeli mercenary, and being used as bait in a LAPD-orchestrated showdown at the La Brea Tar Pits.
Whether its stumblebum killers or a mass murder averted by a kid watching Laverne & Shirley, you'll never read about bloodlust like this. Or see Southern California the same way. Chip Jacobs conducted hundreds of hours of interviews and reviewed thousands of pages in Howard Garrett's case to connect the dots. The resulting book is a feast for true crime lovers as well as for lovers of Los Angeles noir. The Darkest Glare is vintage true crime at its finest. As a bonus, The Darkest Glare includes an original true crime short also by Chip Jacobs, "Paul & Chuck". "Paul & Chuck" is the truly terrifying and weird story of crusading Los Angeles attorney Paul Morantz who in the late 1970s went to battle against one of the most dangerous and violent cults America has ever seen: Synanon. It's story that's guaranteed to make your skin crawl!
About the Author: Chip Jacobs is an author and journalist. His fiction debut, Arroyo, about two parallel lives gravitating around Pasadena, California's Colorado Street Bridge, was a Los Angeles Times bestseller. His other books include the biography Strange As It Seems: the Impossible Life of Gordon Zahler, and the bestselling Smogtown: the Lung-Burning History of Pollution, and its sequel about China, The People's Republic of Chemicals, the latter two with William J. Kelly. His reporting has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, the Los Angeles Daily News, The New York Times, LA Weekly, CNN, and the Pasadena Weekly, among others. Jacobs, a graduate of the University of Southern California, is the recipient of numerous writing awards. He is at work on his follow up novel, and several non-fiction projects.

What is a coronavirus?
By: Emmanuel Arroyo, LAc 28 January 2020
Coronavirus, discovered in 1960,[1] is a positive-sense RNA virus that mainly targets the upper respiratory tract except for SARS which causes upper and lower tract infections and gastroenteritis. A positive-sense RNA is also known as positive-strand RNA virus[2]. The name is given due to its single strand of RNA while positive refers to genetic information carried for replication.
Coronavirus (CoV) belong to the order of Nidovirales, which includes Coronaviridae, Arteriviridae, and Roniviridae families. CoV is divided into two subfamilies, CoV and the second subfamily Torovirinae. CoV has a cap (lets call it head) which carries all the information needed for replication, while the tail has all the information related with structure and functions. The tail contains four important structures, S (spike), M (membrane), E (envelope), and N (nucleocapsid) proteins. The S structure is the one that attaches to the host cell receptors. The M structure gives the shape/form. The E structure is important for assembly and release of the virus; some virus need the M structure for pathogenesis. Structure N facilitates binding and affinity to viral or non-viral RNA. Both N and M work synergistically and facilitate replication and diffusion of the virus in the host.[3]
For binding, CoV mainly uses aminopeptidase as receptors except SARS and NL63 that use angiotensin-converting enzyme and MERS uses dipeptidyl-peptidase-4.
In the past CoV was classified according to the immune reaction, hence the Alpha, Beta, Delta, and Gamma nomenclature.
The Wuhan-coronavirus is new and is identified as 2019-nCoV.
How many human coronaviruses are known?[4],[5]
There are six coronavirus:
1. Alpha coronavirus:
a. 229E (1960) – causes common cold
b. NL63 (2004)
2. Beta coronavirus:
a. OC43 (1960) – causes common cold
b. HKU1(2005)
c. SARS-CoV (2003)
d. MERS-CoV (2012)

a. 2019-nCoV (2019)
There is no vaccine for any, the only vaccine created was for SARS and it was an attenuated virus.
Which Virus, Disinfecting Wipes Kill?[6]
· Lysol claims it product kills[7]
o Virus: Herpes simplex virus type 1, Human coronavirus, influenza A virus
o Bacteria: Streptococcus pyogenes (Strep), Staplylococcus aureus (Staph), Escherichia coli O157: H7 (E. coli), Methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Salmonella enterica (Salmonella)
· Clorox Healthcare®Bleach Germicidal Disinfectants and Clorox Healthcare® Bleach Germicidal Wipes[8]
o Virus: Adenovirus Type 2, Avian influenza A, Canine parvovirus, Enterovirus D68, Feline Panleukopenia, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Herpes simplex type 2, Human coronavirus, Human immunodeficiency virus type 1, Influenza A, Influenza B, Measles, MERS-CoV, Norovirus, Poliovirus type 1, Respiratory syncytial (RSV), Rhinovirus, Rotavirus, SARS-CoV.
It is important to point that CoV killed by Clorox are SARS, MERS and that H-CoV mentioned must be the ones that cause common cold. [9]
Chinese Medicine, Essential Oils, Supplements and CoV Signs and Symptoms
In China, n-CoV is diagnosed as wet heat. The tongue has a thick yellow fur and a red and wet body. The signs and symptoms are runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, fever, and difficulty breathing leading to respiratory arrest.[10],[11],[12] The main feature is difficulty breathing and x-ray showing bilateral lung ‘infiltrates’. It takes 2 to 14 days to show any sign and symptoms. It is calculated that 2 people can infect 2.5 people a day, the infection increase rate is 53% per day.[13]
Herbal medicine contains polysaccharides, polyphenols, and antioxidants known to modulate and assist the immune system. Chinese medicine has a vast compendium of herbs that can be used for helping during any disease. Currently, China is using Chinese medicine and western medicine to fight the virus. For an herbal prescription a diagnosis is needed but as precaution you might use Gan mao ling. The ingredients in Gan mao ling are gang mei geng or wan dian jin (Radix Iicis asprellae), wu zhu he (Folium Evodia), shan pu he or wu zhi gan (Folium viticis) ban lan gen (Radix Isatidis), ju hua (Flos Chrysanthemum), jin yin hua (Flos Lonicerae), and bo he (Herba Mentha). This formula clears heat, toxins, and opens the chest. Ban lan gen and jin yin hua have immunomodulatory properties.[14]
Herbs that has shown effective against the CoV are rich triterpene glycosides such as saikosaponins A, B2,C, and D or phenolic compounds. The herbs are the followings:[15],[16]
· Radix Bupleurum (Chai hu) – early stage infection of 229E
· Radix Scrophularia (Xuan shen) -early stage infection of 229E
· Lycoris Radiata (Shi Suan) – SARS
· Herba Artemisia annua (Huang hua hao or Qing hao) - SARS
· Folium Pyrrosia lingua (Shi wei) – SARS
· Radix Lindera aggregata (Wu yao) – SARS
· Isatidis indigotica (Ban lan gen, Cao da qing, Ma lan) – SARS
· Torreya nucifera or Semen Torreyae (Fei zi) – SARS
· Radix Dioscorea spp – SARS
As reported by R. K. Ganjhu et al:
Also, if we glance through the different plant preparations reported in this review, we will notice that most of them represent extracts made of more than one plant species. That draws our attention to the uniqueness of each plant species and their constituents, which together with other plants make a formulation effective in treating a plethora of viral infections. An in-depth analysis of such formulations along with a bio-activity guided isolation of active components shall definitely give a better idea about the active principles responsible for a varied antiviral action. Research in this direction is in progress as collated from different papers. There are ample reports revealing immunomodulatory properties of many plant extracts mediated through induction and release of pro-inflammatory cytokines, IL-6 and IL-12. IL-12, produced by activated monocytes/macrophages and dendritic cells, stimulate cell-mediated immunity to release IFN-c, promote Th-1 responses, and enhance CD8 + cytotoxic T cell activity, thereby playing a pivotal role in controlling viral replication. There also exist evidence on IL-6 production by macrophages in response to virus infections, in addition to reports justifying its role in clearing viral infection from the physiological system.[17]
Chinese medicine does have herbs that can stop any early sign and symptom, regulate and modulate the immune system, and even clear the body from a virus. Feel free to consult your acupuncturist on herbal treatment as soon as early sign and symptoms are present. Do not wait.
Another preventing method is taking a multivitamin and mineral, adding an extra dose of 25 mg of zinc, selenium, and manganese while adding 1,500 mg of L-Carnitine. L-Carnitine is converted to L-Acetylcarnitine[18],[19],[20] which has immunomodulator, sedative, and analgesic effects. It regulates dopamine, serotonin, and GABA and has an affinity for the hippocampus and hypothalamus. Zinc, selenium, and manganese are the minerals needed to produce super oxidase dismutase and glutathione peroxidase, two antioxidants produced by the human; L-Glutamine[21], an amino acid, is involved in the production of glutathione peroxidase as well.
A third way of prevention is diffusing essential oil of Eucalyptus radiata, E. globulus, E. citriodora, Laurel, Tea tree, Hyssop, and Palmarosa.[22] According to Schnaubelt, PhD hyssop has the strongest antiviral properties, palmarosa targets the upper and lower respiratory tract and tea tree has a broad application enhancing other oils qualities.
Last, Drink plenty of fluids, wash your hands, cover your face when sneezing, wash your hands after touching your mouth or any other surface and always gargle.

Craig Johnson -Junkyard Dogs-
Lines I like from this book
“So, has the Basquo talked to you?”
I started to yawn and covered my mouth with my hand. “About what?” “Quitting.”
“Hey, Geo, how are things up at the dump?”
His expression took on a serious quality, but he was nothing if not unfailingly polite. “With all due respect, Walt, Municipal Solid Waste Facility.”
“Fuck you.”
“It’s amazing the respect I seem to command from my staff, isn’t it?”
“How is your foot?”
“Fabulous.”
He studied me with a look, and the only description that might apply would be askance. “You’re still limping.”
“I’ve come to consider it a character trait.”
“Take off your hat.”
“I don’t think that’s going to help with the limp.”
“It would appear, that at the dump—”
“You mean the Municipal Solid Waste Facility?”
since I’d pitched the last one into the Powder River after I decided that I was not a black hat kinda guy.
As he secured the Beretta, I turned and saw the strangest thing I’d seen all day, and I’d seen a lot of strangeness up to this point. George Stewart and my ninth-grade English/civics teacher were entwined in a passionate kiss.
“I’m not so sure that would strictly define the environs of the dump.”
“Municipal Solid Waste Facility.” Evidently Geo had educated the Doc, too.
“grand matron of Redhills Rancho Arroyo is shtupping the junkman?”
“I think Municipal Solid Waste Facility Engineer is the title he prefers.”
“Another good reason for you to not move to New Mexico—it’s warm down there, and you can bleed to death.”
I left Dog with Henry, Henry with Vic, and Vic with Ozzie.
I waited for her to provide the rest so that I wouldn’t have to come across with a more palatable version of shtupping the junkman.
“That I what, Sheriff?”
I was going to have to come across with a more palatable version of shtupping the junkman.
We circled to the right and the open window. We hadn’t bothered with bars since it was so small and high up and because I was practically the only one who used the shower.
“How in the hell did he get through that?”
I shot a look at her. “Determination.”
“Sorry to interrupt, but have you seen a man in a bathrobe run by here?”
Trudy Thorburn, a diminutive blonde, pointed. “He went thatta way, Walt.”
“Thank you.”
“I quit too, and I’m moving to a place where the temperature is in double digits.”
“What kind of shotgun?”
“20-gauge, coach gun.”
“Why in the hell would he buy something like that?”
“Only thing that would fit under his bathrobe?”
“Ozzie, if you shoot me I am going to be very disappointed in you.”
“Did you ever get an X-ray series done after the accident?”
“Which one?”
He shook his head at me,
“Are you all right?”
“I am a clamorous harbinger of blood and death.”
“Is everybody in this county a smart-ass?”
My deputy sipped her coffee. “Pretty much.”
“Ruby said to tell you that if you don’t go, she’s quitting, too.”
“You’re limping.”
“Yep, but I don’t think it has anything to do with my eye.”
Henry stood, looking at me and the bathroom, where no sounds escaped. “You do not have a window in there, do you?”
“So while old lady Dobbs is shtupping the junkman, Ozzie is shtupping the granddaughter?”
I opened my eyes just a little and couldn’t see much better than when they were closed.

Tony here with some news on Larry. For those of you that don't know, Larry was born to one of the pregnant dwarf rescues we had earlier this year. When he was about 2 months old, he developed a large bump on his right front leg. We took him to our previous vet and had a cytology done. The results showed no abnormal cells, just inflammation (good news!). We put him on anti-inflammatories and his bump got smaller but never went away. However, it did stay at its smaller size (about the size of a pea) after his meds were completed. That is, until now. On Sunday, we noticed his bump had gotten bigger again. It's now about the size of a small blueberry--all in the span of a week! We took him to Arroyo Vista Veterinary Hospital on Tuesday and Dr. Villano x-rayed little Larry. We confirmed that it is indeed a growth on the limb (we thought it may be a cyst or bony build-up surrounding an old injury). This is tough news because we really don't know what it is. We're faced with a few choices. The first option is to let Larry live out his life with the bump on his leg and hope it is just a benign tumor. Given the results of the previous cytology and the fact that Larry is still very young, this is a pretty likely scenario. The second option is to do a biopsy, which will determine if the tumor is malignant or not. If it is, we have the option of amputating his leg--but we have no way of knowing if the cancer had metastasized, so the amputation may be for naught. I'm really struggling with this, guys. You know that we love these little guys so much and are always willing to give them the world--it's just hard to face the fact that there are no guarantees here. I am just so incredibly grateful to Dr. Villano for his expertise and compassion in working with Larry and I. It's not every day you come across a vet that takes the health of our littlest friends so seriously; and that extends to everyone at Arroyo as well. Anyway, please keep Larry in your thoughts. For now he is in great spirits and is as happy and healthy as ever. I'll try my best to keep you updated on his situation but for now, we'll be putting all our faith into his strong spirit and our wonderful vets. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bm4OkxPHKR8/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1e6qvzeaz50q5

No he jugado nunca a los bolos.
—No importa.
—Hey, puedes llamarme Mitchan.
—HEY! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY CAR?! —Le cuestionó el americano borracho al beta. —Can you speak english?
—Qui it! —Those kids didn't do that. I saw your...
—Iros a casa.
No iba a abandonarlo.
