Ok, I needed a second because I have a lot of thoughts and this is very long and has a gallilion links.

BETILLA FIRST.

I think for canon Betilla, specifically, her voice in junior is perfect.

She has a mid-pitch voice, is very tender and soothing, and speaks very slowly but not in a condescending way, more like she's making sure to be clear and concise. A combination of a grade-school teacher and a mother.

She's perfect for canon Betilla, but she's not the voice claim for my Betilla.

My Betilla sounds more like she does in Activity Center.

She's a lot higher pitched and more playful, and arguably a little bit ditzy. Betilla is a bit of a silly character in my canon, not really stupid but a lot less settled in her role as a mentor. She's also more animated, which is why her Activity Center voice fits better. It switches from sing-song, to playfully accusatory, to quick to apologize and laugh off her mistake, which is a lot different than the sure and elegant way she speaks in Junior.

Of course, if her Activity Center voice is a bit grating, a substitute is always available!

Amalthea is also a good candidate for Betilla in my head, especially as she grows into her role as head nymph and mentor. In my head it's a nice combination of both Betillas, slow and elegant, but it still cracks, it sounds somewhat youthful, it even has a bit of a tremble behind it. While it's better suited for Betilla's more serious moments, I still think it fits her nicely, with how delicate but how emotional it is. It's a voice with a lot of heart behind it.

SPEAKING OF LAST UNICORN I can jump to Ales. I will get to the more iconic stuff, but first I want to share a personal headcanon: while his excitement and emotions are genuine and even over the top, he naturally has a flat voice, similar to how Alan Arkin plays Schmendrick in the movie. He purposely hams up his inflection for the sake of entertainment and to make people laugh.

AS FOR HIS HAM AND CHEESING. OBVIOUSLY. His Rayman 1 voice. It's iconic. It's loud. It's dramatic. He sounds like he's rolling his eyes once or twice. Who the fuck would I be if I didn't let him keep his goofy ass voice

I will say, however, I can see the European version of his voice working for canon Magician. It's a lot sweeter and almost emotional, this guy is definitely genuine, if still having fun here and there with some sass.

As for when he's going nuts with the EVIL act, I think about Shadow Milk Cookie.

Shadow Milk and The Magician sound very similar to me, high pitched and a bit nasally, and of course they keep the entertainer personas going on. But SM is so so loud, so so unhinged, the voice is so perfect for a CACKLE. It's what Ales deserves once he's done pretending to be an ally.

I think Tony Todd works very well for Mr Dark in my head. He has that deep. rumbly, kinda menacing voice, but Mr Todd's voice is also very whispery, almost soothing.

He's a common actor in horror films, and his characters in Candyman and Final Destination are mysterious and ominous, so his performances are wispy and hushed. His voice performance fits a smoky character like Mr Dark, more so since his past involved being a living lullaby of sorts, a blanketing darkness that brings deep, restful sleep.

a voice that can be both comforting and terrifying.

NOW FOR QUEENIE MY QUEEEEEEN.

AND I WILL USE THIS MOMENT TO MAKE IT CLEAR. When I say voice headcanons I really do mean "voice references" and not a hypothetical casting list because, frankly, I would rather Queenie not played by a cis man in an imaginary project with voice acting. What I DO want is for Queenie to sound like this: high pitched, using a very confident and regal inflection, but not really feminizing the voice itself, if that makes sense. Think of it like Dr Girlfriend from Venture Brothers. Women with deep/masculine voices my beloved.

Don't know how many questions is allowed to be asked, if i asked to many i apologies:

Any plans on drawing more of the priest moth? I liked the design of her and her mantis friend.

Don't know if i missed it, but do you plan on making an angel character who's a dom? Afterall being physically intimate or sexual isn't a sin (contrary to what some might think) as long as you don't force yourself on others (or commit adultery/cheating, but that's pretty obvious).

Not a question, but so far i think my top 6 favorite designs are the two spider moms, Marigold, Sera, Cherub and Priest Moth.

What's Cherub's relation to Sera and Power and the others?

Is there any franchises you're a fan of that you've created art for? Like Wakfu, Rayman or some other show or franchise or game?

Any plans on opening commissions at some point or would be that to much strain because of your schedule?

Does Sera or Power play video games in their free time? Power kinda strikes me as someone who'd love Minecraft for some reason.

In the universe with Sera & Co. do other supernatural creatures such as fairies, werewolves or eldritch horror/cthullu stuff exist?

Ever tried a role-swap AU with your characters?

Is there any of your characters who play D&D, Pathfinder or World of Darkness?

1. No, I’m going to be using them for my uh. Other account from now on.

2. No. Being physically intimate isn’t a sin but anything sexual before marriage is considered sinful, so I don’t really have any Angel who fits that role. Prince (a character I haven’t introduced yet) is the closest to verging into that “past the physical intimacy” zone.

4. Cheri has no personal lore with Sera and Powers. Powers is just attached to her because she’s 1) very motherly and 2) a cute animal

Her history with Junior has more depth to it, but it’s huge spoilers so I can’t say why yet.

5. I made a lot of fanart for Rise of the TMNT, BNHA, warrior cats and Steven Universe not sharing any of it because it’s old and cringe.

6. No because of what you said. Too much extra work, plus I kinda hate doing comms compared to my regular patreon work where I can mostly draw what I want. For some reason a lot of commissioners do not consider my art style when suggesting characters.

7. Neither play video games. Sera actually has nothing in her house because she doesn’t want to involve herself in any indulgences. Well except kissing and hugging.

8. Yeah, eldritch horror is debatable though.

9. No but I thought about it. Maybe for April fools.

Hi! I'm Luz, a 22-year-old who likes to draw, enjoy good music and company :]

Why are you interested in animation?

Ever since I was 12, I've had a special love for stories and the enchanting magic they bring. I've always dreamed of bringing new worlds, characters, and adventures to life. I have always aspired to work as an illustrator, character designer, or animator, either for an animation studio or indie project! :D (Maybe even illustrate children's books idk)

What are your top 3 favorite pieces of animation and why are they important for you? (any media)

EL TIGRE: THE ADVENTURES OF MANNY RIVERA

This series has been incredibly influential to me. It sparked my deep interest in animation, captivating me with its characters, backgrounds, and colors. As a result, I began creating my own comics featuring "original" characters...where I inserted myself instead of Manny Rivera.

I integrated my school experiences with the series chapters, allowing my creativity to flourish.

I really enjoyed the characters and the art style in addition to the episodes and stories. The background characters are just as entertaining to watch, each with different characteristics. I loved the variety in everything. Honestly, Jorge's unique style is always filled with vibrant designs, shapes, and colors!

RAYMAN ORIGINS

Honestly, this was the only Rayman game I ever had the chance to play, but to this day I still love the visuals. The backgrounds and characters captivated me. Not to mention the little animations that occurred.

As for the story, I didn't really pay much attention to it haha But that didn't stop me from understanding what I was doing or from spending hours in the game looking at the visuals and having fun with the adventures in each level.

One of the most inspiring aspects of this game for me was its vibrant and diverse backgrounds. I was particularly fascinated by the intricate details of leaves, flowers, rocks, and other elements. These backgrounds inspired me to create a mini comic featuring a boy and magical creatures in a forest. Although I didn't continue working on the comic at that time, I revisited the concept after an assignment at university, turning it into a graphic novel. The novel was set in a forest, and the diverse shapes and designs in Rayman Origins greatly influenced the visual appeal of the forest in my story.

As a bonus, I was inspired by Rayman and Betilla (mainly from "Rayman Junior") to create other characters. Rayman, in particular, inspired me because he didn't have arms or legs. The story behind why he doesn't have them is simple and funny: due to technical problems, they decided to remove his limbs when he originally did have them. I'm glad they removed them because, for some reason, I felt that Rayman fit in better with his surroundings and story.

Rayman recently appeared in another series called "Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix", with an unexpected twist and tremendous character development, resulting in a darker and more violent tone, but that's another talk.

CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS AND THE ATTACK OF THE TALKING TOILETS (specifically)

Here me out, this is really good.

As I said before, I was inspired by the backgrounds in "Rayman Origins". Captain Underpants gave me the confidence to create comics with imperfect frames. This graphic novel inspired me to tell stories from a different perspective (by that I mean by breaking the fourth wall. At that time having a character interact with the reader was strange or impossible for me). It also showed me that comics and graphic novels can cover a variety of topics without needing to be overly serious. As a child, I used to believe that creating deep, context-heavy stories was necessary for this kind of medium.

Captain Underpants did have a story, but it was short and was told in a way that was easy to understand without breaking your head so much. I remember this particular novel fondly because it was the first one I ever got my hands on. I owe it all to my English teacher who, in an effort to make learning more enjoyable, she decided to give me a novel instead of the usual speech bubble drawings, and it left a lasting impression on me.

I kind of went overboard with the music from games - I went past the limit on post, can you believe that? XD - but you asked about instrumentals and games have the best one in my opinion <3

Oh yes I do! I will give you my top 5 - it might change in the future, but ya know, let's stick to today:

Earthbound - first jrpg I have ever encountered. Tiny me had luck to come across a Polish youtuber who made a let's play from it and translated everything to Polish - the guy even made special cards for enemies, just so everyone could know what he's fighting with. But overall, it's a game with a very simple plot. A bunch of kids who are on an adventure to save the world. What makes the game so good is the mechanics, music and graphics, which still holds up to this day. SNES era, my beautiful pixels <3 Also, it was always a game that made my childhood dream come true. Just to have some friends and go on an adventure with them

Final Fantasy VII - first of the Final Fantasy series I've played and first game that made me come back to jrpgs for real. I'm a big fan of the original. The story, the characters, the freaking music in this one, everything is just so good. Bosses are challenging, especially if you play a jrpg with action time battle for the first time, but everything is constructed in a way that you are thrown in the fight and you can figure it out by yourself. No major tutorials, just figure it out by yourself. I've played the European version, heard it's easier than the US and Japanese version, but I might be insane enough to try the US version and see if it's really that much difficult or my friend just sucks at. Also, I love me some polygons <3 It's also the game that made me realize that the "you know you're fucked when latin choir joins the boss's music" is very true

Silent Hill 2 - while not a big fan of horror games, this one deserves a spot there. Not only music is great, but this is the only game that can scare the shit out of me. And no, not because of monsters - although there is one I just freaking HATE - but because of the atmosphere. The game can literally trick you into false sense of security, just to throw you out of the safe bubble, into a hole with no exit. Not only you're confused as to why James - the main protagonist - came back to the town, but also you wonder almost blindly through the town, can only relay on yourself and no one else. Locations change to worse - I'll not only mention the hospital, but also the labyrinth where you have no map and you are forced to navigate through it while the map is drawn - and the game literally scares you with sound and atmosphere only. You can literally jump at the mere sound if you're playing in the dark

Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc - that one deserves a spot there, because it was my first platformer game which I fell in love so much that when I got my hands on the copy of it in junior high I literally finished it 15-20 times in a row. I love the stupid plot, I love the Polish dub in this game, the graphics are still holding up and they are very good and the music is just as it should be: good, otherworldly, setting the atmosphere just right. There's also the first villain in video games that I liked and I still love this idiot!

Kirby's Return to Dream Land - oh God, do I love this game! It's below Rayman just because of nostalgia, but just like Earthbound, it's a must play each year, WHICH reminds me that I didn't play it this year and I gotta, I just gotta. Either way, the graphics are cute and colorful, the music is so great I can't get enough of it, even after so many years of hearing it, the plot is simple, but GOOD LORD THE VILLAIN! I might say that that one dark lum from Rayman 3 got me, but this one? Freaking Magolor? I might be insane about Keith Moon, but I am as much insane about this small orb - I still want a plushie of him

Here's a few ideas for considerations in your au:

The Dark Descendants are made from the lost Lums intended to create Rayman but with modifications done by Mr. Dark. Perhaps Zephyr was made after a Mr. Dark turned one of them into a dark lum just for experimentation

They each have a trait associated with Mr. Dark that makes up their personality. Raymesis has Dark’s ambition and conniving demeanor, Zephyr has Dark’s unpredictable nature and his drive for change in the Glade (For better or worse when it comes to Zephyr but definitely for the worse when it came to Mr. Dark)

Tychon has Dark’s inquisitive nature remember when Mr. Dark stole the Book of Knowledge in Junior? Yeah that’s the part where he comes from

They were with Ales until about after Origins but before Legends during Rayman’s 100 year nap where the trio decided to go their separate ways from him as Raymesis saw this as a great opportunity for them

Somewhere along the way Raymesis meets Glombrox and slowly starts his ambitious plans

👀 I like this. The idea that each of the siblings inheriting their father's aspects respectfully is something I never thought about. Their origins is something that's left for me to decide but the rest? Perfect.

I also like to imagine that if the trio managed to separate from each other, it was in a way that they can be able to forge their own paths and make choices they want to make for themselves. That way, they can grow more and more out of Mr Dark's shadow and be their own characters as their lives pretty much revolved what Mr Dark (and by some extent, Ales) ever wanted. Raymesis may find his siblings unbearable sometimes but they're still his family and he does care for them, even if he doesn't openly display it.

On topic with the question: it's more on a wholesome note but I'd imagine that Zephyr would def admire Glombrox cause big purple frog and that she sees him as a scare buddy. Tychon? Not so much.

Here are three versions of a Rayfanpedia poster I designed for Rayman Alive in 2023!

Credits go to Elite Piranha/eph1999 for the gorgeous plum logo, which is the site’s symbol!

As the name wasn’t revealed yet, I codenamed it the ‘Book of Knowledge’, as a nod to the Magic Book of Knowledge from Rayman Junior!

It was also a name we considered when discussing what we should call Rayfanpedia, but, of course, we kept the original title as it was far more efficient!

We hope you’ll enjoy learning about the Rayman community’s fan projects through this encyclopedia!

Wait what, how, when?? I didn't know! Lol the headcanon of Betilla not being able to sing was just a random idea, but I didn't knew she did sing at some point!

I went to check it out and it's really cute (and also funny) how she sings about the Magician! But I remember her voice being more low and somehow mature in the Rayman Junior (even if it isn't canon, I think that's the voice that fits her better) but her voice is a little higher in Origins anyways.

Barbara's Unique Family

I figured why not expand on this? There will be five little scenarios where our favorite badass doctor gets herself a kid. Three has Jim being neither species shown in Tales of Arcadia while the other two is a sibling under the same circumstances.

Let's get started?

Thingamajig and the Doctor

Yup! I'm starting with a Rayman flavored Jim as I honestly think it would be more hilarious when he kicks his rogue gallery's ass. A lot of them already underestimated him as a human so why not make the guy even more 'looks harmless but can kill you'?

This Jim will have other traits than the standard Limbless since I tend to make subspecies for a lot of stuff. Pointed ears, horns, thick werewolf style fur, claws, tusk like fangs, the ability to harden his skin alongside hair into thick blue bedrock similar to troll hidden, blue stripes that expand into said bedrock coat when activated, and a spiky crystal ball that follows him around as if attached to an invisible tail.

Now Thingamajigs are a pure magic species related to dreams. So Jim has dream/wish magic to put properly. It's only as strong as his belief, imagination and magic reserves. He can turn himself human but not poof Bular out of existence type range. There's also the normal Thingamajig abilities such as the Haircopter, running on walls, shrinking and not needing air.

Barbara finds Jim when he's two years old. He got himself stuck in the trashcan looking for food and she heard him crying. James is already out of the picture but I will say if he was there then the man will be gone. Either because he left on his own volition or she kicked him out for being heartless to a lost baby.

Jim becomes friends with Toby when they're four as kids tend to wander off and he's no exception. Barbara has him take online classes albeit any video call lessons have the monitor off or other excuses about his inhuman appearance on screen. Jim is around 11 years old when he finally able to hold onto a human disguise for more than twelve hours a day.

He attends public school afterwards which definitely earned him some attention for awhile. Like no one has seen Jim's human face before and assumed his 'big nose' persona is just a computer filter. Also for any Jlaire fans, they kiss with his human disguise or rub noses(kunik or 'Eskimo Kiss') in his true form.

Jim still freaks out a bit when Blinky and AAARRRGGHH break into his house. Although that's because there are two strangers in his home than them being trolls. Jim might use his Limbless nature to be a weird little shit. Back when he was little, Barbara had to check her bags before leaving for work as he tended to slip in there. Whether she got just Jim's head or his whole body is a coin flip at best. He was a clingy baby and later been teased for that with baby pictures.

Barbara's Tiger Son

For this one, Jim is getting a brother in the form of my OC Léi Yún. (Old doodle that I plan to redraw soon. He's based on a species called Azafuse/ Bakaneko(version based name) from a different series called Ushio and Tora.)

Léi Yún is a wanderer who has a habit of stealing an unsuspecting person's food. Albeit he made a bad mistake when he decides Barbara's attempt at egg salad would be a good target. Imagine her reaction when she caught a five year old Jim patting the back of an ill tiger yaoguai hung over the kitchen sink.

Barbara's food made him so sick that he can't exactly fly away or even use magic without feeling queasy for a few days. Enough time to find out Léi Yún is essentially a child and adopt him in seconds. The Azafuse follows Jim to school by turning invisible to those who aren't spiritually attuned. Basically the school doesn't know they have an extra student, at least until the last two episodes. He met Toby by stealing Nana's cookies and Tobes caught him.

Now yaoguai tend to age quite strangely between each individual. Most mature normally like humans, take centuries like trolls but some have certain requirements that need to be done first. Léi Yún is one such yaoguai as he's actually 600 years old despite his child appearance. He needs to haunt someone or a place to properly reach maturity. What better people than the Lakes?

Léi Yún's species can get quite big so in his 10 year stay, he matured into an near adult around AAARRRGGHH's size. Of course he can make himself feel weightless like most spiritual based entities. Thus Léi Yún could do this despite the size difference between him, Jim and Barbara.

Also Barbara is sooo finding out about Jim's Trollhunter role as a certain older brother will tell her. Léi Yún ain't dumb. He knows Jim's new double life gonna drag everyone in the crossfire whether he wants it to or not. Plus its better to have a medic for any lethal injuries. Just because Barbara taught Léi Yún first aid doesn't mean he can handle broken ribs. Also that binding spell is the only thing keeping the Azafuse from zapping Strickler like he did to Bular and Draal(for being a dick to Jim earlier).

Even a Beast Deserves Love

For this one, Jim is gonna be a Lamortmon mainly to fit the Beast motif. (Lamort means death in French. Fitting when this Digimon is known for extreme berserker tendencies with the smallest slight unless calmed down. Jim was taught anger management at an early age.) I'm going for the Digimon Fusion rules so he hatched from an egg and grew up in this form.

Barbara found Jim's egg hidden by a dumpster when out shopping. He hatched at home and she raised him as her own. In a sense, Barbara is his Tamer but a Digivice has yet to form...for now. Her relationship with James doesn't last long when he discovers a one year old Jim and practically runs. House is later renovated to make him more comfortable such as having enough room to move around alongside cooking without issue.

The young Lamortmon does befriend Toby by sneaking into his yard. Unlike the others, Arcadia ends up finding out about Jim when a nasty fire broke out in a store. He was hiding inside Toby's phone while his best friend was looking for snacks. The 10 year old rescues everyone who been trapped inside and became a precious secret hidden from outsiders by the townsfolk.

Barbara had him doing online classes so Jim integrating to public school wasn't difficult. He's usually in a small handheld carried around by Toby except for classes outside or inside the gymnasium. Strickler definitely spat out his coffee and had a WTF moment seeing Jim at school.

Why is this strange creature out in the open??? Is he trying to get everyone's attention? Nevermind the fact a 15 year old Jim is just a mere two feet shorter than Gunmar. He might've gotten a glamour mask by an anonymous source *cough* Strickler *cough* mainly to lower the risk of Bular and the Lamortmon meeting.

Now as for Jim's missing weapons and armor for his species, the Amulet will be providing his twin blades alongside the metal gauntlets than just the Trollhunter armor. He does tell Barbara about the trollhunting business since he rather not have her oblivious to the dangerous responsibility now shoved onto him. Man needs some more hugs.

Loving Shadows

Another OC this time with my undead magical experiment Ling Shēng. (Another doodle I plan to revamp.) He's a runaway failed clone of the Six Eared Macaque, a Celestial Primate whose six ears can hear the past/present/future, made via stolen magic alongside corpse magic. Personality wise, Ling Shēng is a lonely 7 year old who rather play leap frog with an actual frog and be helpful but is scared to interact in fear of being hurt.

Barbara discovers him one day when she notices a 5 year old Jim's shadow is acting strange every night before bed. Almost if someone is standing behind. Quick google search leads to the conclusion of a Diao Xue Gui or "hanging on boots ghost", a mischievous but mostly harmless spirit. Barbara manages to gently coax Ling Shēng out of hiding.

She didn't expect the ghost to actually be a small monkey child and is quick to adopt him. Ling Shēng is the only one who can actually use healing magic but also purification magic. A nice boon when it comes to dealing with a certain evil sorceress and troll warlord with a mind control fetish alongside stone poison issues.

Ling Shēng is introduced to be Toby through Jim as he figures his new brother needs more friends. The undead yaoguai takes online classes but does follow his human family and friend through the shadows. Since he's a clone, it doesn't take long for him to mature into a young adult in those 10 years.

Ling Shēng is still a shy stuttering mess who loves family hugs and sweets despite being a 7'11 tall undead monkey yaoguai built like Bruce Lee with a Día De Los Muertos skull bearing piercing violet eyes for a head. He does tell Barbara during the Win, Lose or Draal incident. Ling Shēng doesn't want these secrets to hurt his family further.

Mother's Wolf

We're going for a werewolf Jim or to put aptly, a Wolfssegner. A type of Wolfskin from Fire Emblem who can switch between a human and beast form. Although Jim will have to cover ears, tail, alongside have an excuse for his more hairy body. Now Wolfskin require a gem called a Beaststone to manage their transformations better. Jim doesn't have one so he has to learn the ropes while he grows up.

Barbara finds him in the woods when he was just a baby. James already dipped as she caught him being unfaithful once coming back home. Jim doesn't shift until he's five. A playdate with Toby goes awry when a mountain lion house breaks into his the Domzalski's backyard.

Jim transforms to protect his best friend, the animal runs off clearly intimidated by grizzly bear sized werewolf. This leads to a lot of camping trips so Barbara can help her son become accustom to his other form. It might've started an urban legend known as the 'Giant Horned Wolf of Arcadia Forest'. (A 15 year old Jim's beast form is nearly the size of a small bus.)

He attends public school but wears a hair brand to make the illusion that his ears and tail are fake. As for his fur patches, Jim has the Werewolf Disease excuse. Basically the only thing that'll blow his mom's thought out cover plan is him transforming. If he needs to use his other form, Barbara gave Jim the idea to shift one or two of his limbs than a full transformation.

He does tell his mother after the Win, Lose or Draal episode. Mainly cause she would easily find their new troll protector in seconds. Jim's puppy brain got him into some nutty shenanigans when he was younger so Barbara will definitely find out if he's hiding something in the house.
