Years ago, I wanted to use Dailymotion as a YouTube alternative… but somehow, it has become even worse since then! Turns out they intend to remove videos/channels which they deem "not active enough", and I recently got an e-mail telling me some of mine will be archived and then deleted! No specifics given, of course…

So, as I won’t bother with that site any more, I’ll share my Dailymotion content here before it’s inevitably gone! Here are all of my playlists:

A very interesting area added in Rayman Redemption was Molten Depths, a volcanic level inspired by Fiery Depths from the Game Boy Color version of Rayman!

It properly expands on the lava briefly featured during the Mr Skops boss fight in Rayman 1!

Also, did you know that the extra Magma ambience in that same level is the only new track not created by Ryemanni? I managed to find the source, and it’s taken from there!

I featured a bit of it at the end of my extended music video for Molten Depths, as there was no point in making an expanded version for Magma as a result!

Here are three versions of a Rayfanpedia poster I designed for Rayman Alive in 2023!

Credits go to Elite Piranha/eph1999 for the gorgeous plum logo, which is the site’s symbol!

As the name wasn’t revealed yet, I codenamed it the ‘Book of Knowledge’, as a nod to the Magic Book of Knowledge from Rayman Junior!

It was also a name we considered when discussing what we should call Rayfanpedia, but, of course, we kept the original title as it was far more efficient!

We hope you’ll enjoy learning about the Rayman community’s fan projects through this encyclopedia!

Another Rayman Advance track which was remade for Rayman Redemption is Mountain Spring, probably one of the most melancholic pieces of music in the Rayman series!

It sure gave quite an atmosphere to some areas of the game, especially Tempest Terror!

I love how Rayman Redemption remade the Blue Mountains tunes from Rayman Advance, like The Musician’s Song!

I originally had to record the music in-game as the soundtrack wasn’t out yet, so it also featured the Night on Blue Mountain ambient piece. That’s why it’s one of the few tracks to which I dedicated a video for the OST version without extending it!

And that’s why I did a little nod to that at the end of the long version!

Le Point - Novembre 2024

Salut, voici le Point de novembre 2024 ! J’ai passé une année douloureuse et j’ai eu peu de temps pour terminer des contenus… Et oui, vous voyez peut-être cette miniature pour la deuxième fois parce que je me suis trompé dans l’article d’octobre ! 😅

I recreated the challenge screens from the Pocket PC/Palm OS versions of Rayman Game Boy Color for my ReDesigner port of the game!

I used actual assets like Rayman 1 backgrounds/sprites and the original Rayman 2 render!

Here are the originals for the sake of comparison! Pocket PC:

I really like how the PPC version looks, it's pretty even to this day and I do prefer it over my own recreations! :)

The Palm OS screens, on the other hand... 🫠

That quality is why my pictures are used instead in the Palm OS versions of my ReDesigner port if you don't pick the original graphics. 🙃

I like how Rayman Redemption added some new mini-bosses, some even expanding on some special underutilised enemies from Rayman 1!

It’s quite a great coincidence that the mad drummer ended up becoming a Redemption boss, when it was discovered later that he was intended to be an actual mini-boss in the original Rayman all along! Now that’s what you call a happy accident! :)

On the topic of the soundtrack which I recorded in-game before it got released separately, I also captured New Foe combined to the Cave Bongos drum track.

You can hear it that way during the Spider Master fight if you escape with the helicopter cheat code… Don’t know why I considered it was worth making a dedicated video out of it back then, but there it is. :P

If you weren’t aware, some of the music in Rayman Redemption’s soundtrack are remakes of tunes from other Rayman games/ports!

For example, Jaguars in the Jungle is based on the exclusive Moskito’s Nest theme from Rayman 1’s Atari Jaguar version!

I styled the titles in my videos in red as a nod to that same console! Definitely one of my favourite pieces in that OST, very relaxing! 🌱

I like how Ryemanni went out of his way to create some tracks for very specific contexts in Rayman Redemption, when some like the Magician shop weren't even that needed! A lot of love was poured into that game, and it shows!

I liked the OST so much that I recorded the soundtrack before it was available, and then made dedicated extended versions for it!

The music videos on MortaDolly were the first time I started dabbling into video effects! It began with the Darktoon tracks in Rayman Redemption, and while it looks amateurish, it was a pretty good learning experience!

Speaking of Darktoon's Mischief, I find it interesting how it's the only music in the soundtrack that's different from the in-game version as it features an extra introductory bit!

On that same topic, I happened to use a early take on my Dark Chimera thumbnail for the intro variation just to not let it go to waste...

Which ended up accidentally fitting for Darktoon as Ryemanni revealed he was originally supposed to be transformed into the Dark Chimera, during the game's development! That's also why its music uses Darktoon's leitmotif!

I really had a lot of fun designing those goofy thumbnails too! :P
