Finally deciding to post smth here 🥶 Little animatic I made when I heard this audio after reading the chasing shadows short stories that got me 😭

the tag of yours about Ezran bringing up how the sandwiches were amidst the destruction and Callum dying as a reaction?? im only writing this because i choked so hard reading that i did a fully body shudder. it took me way longer to recover from this than it should have because this was UNHINGED. I'm actually dying its so funny and out of pocket like you are a perfect human being you make me react like this way too often

and oh my god if ezran ever brings this up to callum so nonchalantly he would react the way i just did but worse a full choking spluttering batshit disaster 😂

ngl my FIRST, IMMEDIATE REACTION upon seeing this was to giggle and go, "oh yeah. i did that."

But seriously though, thank you so much!! I just make myself suffer and crack up, and that's just what I do here-- throw in some humor so I don't go totally ballistic and lose my mind. Glad to see that other people enjoy it, too! <3

ok horrible headcannon but imagine if callum had over the 2 year timeskip coped with Rayla leaving by trying to draw her. however over time he struggles to draw her as well as before because it becomes harder to remember small details about her that he could remember easily before (ie how long exactly her hair is, or the shape of her face markings)

this is especially hard on him because due to his photograghic memory hes so used to remembering drawing details but yet hes struggling to remember the love of his life

Question: Cause I know they weren’t originally planned, and then you guys were boarding season two when you were like, “Hey, maybe this should be a thing,” and then probably like shifted and tweaked things or changed things to write more towards that in the future... Um, I’ve always wondered, if there was time, like at that time, to go back and change anything in season one for them, or the season one that we see was just like that?

Aaron: I don’t recall there was time to change season 1 — that does happen because we are working on things in parallel because we are working on something in the script and then some time later we are working on the later stage of production, like an animatic, and we’ll be able to kind of give notes or even make changes with the knowledge of what’s coming, so that has happened. But in the case of Rayllum, I don’t think so. I mean, I think — again, I remember...

We were rekindling, or when we were realizing that something was being kindled between them, it was watching an animatic so that shouldn’t have informed our writing of season one, but our later stage stuff. But we weren’t trying to force anything so it got in there naturally and I don’t think we went back and changed anything. [...] You know, what else, I’ll even say, I think we initially, intentionally planned they weren’t going to be a couple. We were like “Oh yeah, no, they’re friends," with different views of the world and they journey together, and we don’t want them to be a couple. We’re not — we’re definitely not targeting it. I think we were intentionally not targeting it, and then it was “Too bad creators! We’re going to fall in love despite everything you’re planning.”

There's alternative endings for this sequence (not the big moment, which was fully scripted, but the reactions of Bait, Nyx and Zym) which will probably never be seen, they were funny to draw but I'm not surprised they never made it to animatic, much less animation. Mostly a lot of eye-rolling.

a really cool animatic someone did of the 2019 con “written in the stars” skit. i don’t think op has a tumblr (just a twitter and youtube) but it really deserves more views, so i’m posting it here! the animation is so good and fluid, they deserve all the praise!
