the reason hawkman was a conservative was because pre-crisis katar hol was a thanagarian cop. but because they retconned the thanagarian jl hawks post crisis, they for some reason tried to use carter & shiera to replace them....

i'm sorry but i doubt the hawks were THAT important to the justice league to the point where we had to butcher carter's characterization just to make him pre crisis katar 2.0. nostalgia is a disease. and if you needed a hawkman/hawkgirl that badly, you could've just used FEL ANDAR & SHARON CARTER???? what's the point in making them spies if you won't even utilize that properly?

i love raycarter & carter + oliver's hatred for each other at TIMES but carter on the jl is just pre crisis katar characterization and anytime they differentiate it, it just makes it worse... this makes 0 SENSE.....

trying to replace pre crisis katar being a thanagarian cop with carter just being old, especially with the JSA of all things, makes no sense 😭

and because brad meltzer knew it was bad ig, he tried to change it to the identity crisis thing which... ugh. it's just so bad. carter hall joining the justice league was BAD.
