I’ve been replaying the demo, and every single time I just. I love Ravi. He’s so annoying and suspicious. Caring but distant. He invites you to stay at his house then immediately makes you feel like an unwanted guest–before you even get to his house. He’s a bag of contradictions and oddities. I just want to shake him. Wtf is wrong with drinking plain water, you absolute prune?? We’re roommates who are putting each other under a microscope like lab specimens. We’re annoying each other for fun. Why do you act like that? You’re so off-putting, you’re so endearing. We’re not besties, we’re not worsties, we’re some unnatural and disturbing hybrid. I almost want to stay with him on purpose to annoy him more.

That said, I will absolutely ditch him if you give me the option to stay with Beck or Perri in chapter 3. Call Beck up since they gave me their number like “Hey, turns out I’ll be sticking around for a while, but I had a disagreement with my current host. I sure could use a hero again, if you don’t mind. Plus, we get to hang out more :)” Or look up/ask for Perri’s number and call them up. “So, I’m actually going to be in town for a bit, but I no longer feel comfortable staying with my current host. If it’s not too much trouble, could I stay with you? Plus, it would give us the opportunity to talk more about that interview, since I’m stuck here Willingly Choosing To Stick Around :)” (Goodness, I think about these two too much. I've already got more Beck/Perri fog secrets thoughts to share, but it feels too similar to what I've already said.)

I want to print out this ask and put it on my wall. I've reread it like three times today and I'm just sitting here kicking my feet and twirling my hair.

Ravi is a walking pile of contradictions and I'm glad he comes across as such. I think about him every single day.

Also I'm dying you're not the first person to be baffled by his vendetta against plain water and you probably won't be the last. It's so funny to me. He's sooooo judgy for no reason I love him.

Staying with Ravi just to launch a campaign to annoy him is 100% a valid option ngl, but I'm excited to say that I will be adding stay with Perri and stay with Beck routes!!! Because I deserve a little bit of unnecessary branching, as a treat, and I think you all will enjoy them, too.

Plus it makes me laugh. Ditching the person you met two days ago to stay with one of the people you met yesterday.

Feelin’ kinda sad because I’ve thought up a new furry fart OC, but I can’t try drawing him for this blog because my art style is too distinctive and I already post non-kink stuff online...

So you’ll just have to hear about him through text!

He’s a half-raccoon, half-skunk hybrid named Ravi. However, ever since childhood, most people have saddled him with the nickname “Rank,” partly because of him being a raccoon-skunk (no amount of “I’m a Skoon!” changed anyone’s mind), partly because his skunk-spraying genes got warped into having constant flatulence instead.

Ravi used to hate being called “Rank,” but once he got into college, he made a few fart-loving friends who called him “Rank” lovingly, almost like it was a point of pride. The change of context was more important than he expected. To strangers and acquaintances, he’s Ravi, but if you’re a pal and can share a room with him after binging on wings and milkshakes, you can call him Rank all you want.

Rank is a cute pudgy guy who, while big in the middle, is pretty short. He doesn’t look like a kid per se, but his size and sweet nature makes everyone love to baby him. The only thing that drives people away is his butt, which - while large and just as invitingly fluffy as the rest of him - is often spewing out the results of his snack binges. He’s got em all: nervous farts, angry farts, silent ones, rumbly ones… Rank’s friends could fill out a catalogue with the classifications.

However, none of his farts beat his “spray” farts. Despite being half-skunk, Rank can’t actually spray. He just doesn’t have the glands for it. But his body must have retained a memory of what it needed to do, as Ravi’s farts do change when he’s angry, threatened, or wants to enact revenge. They get louder, longer, and a LOT more condensed. Those farts will stick to you all day. If he quickly turns around, points his butt at you, and raises his tail…. yeah, you better run.

Song Review: LA LOM - “Alacrán”

Hailing from the West Coast, LA LOM look far Eastward on “Alacrán.”

Joined on this standalone single by Dominique Chief Rodriguez on bongos and Cody Farwell on pedal steel, guitarist Zac Sokolow, bassist Jake Faulkner and percussionist Nicholas Baker add some variety to their intriguing, but (until now) frustratingly similar-sounding hybrid of Tex-Mex and surf music.

Farwell and Sokolow are primarily responsible as they coax the sounds of India from their respective instruments. Baker and Rodriguez, too, add to the instrumental travelogue, which may very well have started with George Harrison’s Ravi Shankar-inspired Beatles tracks.

“Alacrán” translates to scorpions and the song carries with it the sting that was latent on Los Angeles League of Musicians and “Tijera.”

Sound Bites knew they had it in ’em.

Would it be possible for Glit to act as a mental health therapist (like Rung), in addition to being a trauma surgeon?

I don't know. Glit is not exactly a shining example of mental health. I know some therapists aren't, but he is a very poor example for a mental patient. Honestly nobody that was in KP is in good mental health or even would recognise what that is, even in the actually good and plotty parts of the series.

If you're talking about Tumblr RPs and my @doctor-glitterbomb account or the @doccat DW account, I'd be willing to do it for shiggles (that account also has a Glit in it who is a cityspeaker and conjunx to/speaker for Fort Max) but I wouldn't write Glit into a fic as a therapist--particularly not in my Voice of Stanix series. It's definitely in the category of "things I'd be willing to let slide to help an RP move along but things that could throw me right out of a fic unless it's AU or Shattered Glass."

Glit is a serious alcoholic (except it's not alcohol, it's engex--but you know what I mean). In Kiss Players he was drunk almost every time we saw him.

In IDW verse he was forced to serve at Grindcore where they did all the really bad war crimes and that provides an explanation for his fucked up mental health that is even more compelling than just 'had issues with Megatron and got beat up a lot'.

Now, in the thing @bitegore started on AO3 that I added more to about the RavWaves in Rodion, Glit could be a therapist, but that's an extreme AU in which Glit is the natural offspring of Ravage and Soundwave and was born in Rodion. Ravage and Soundwave had no idea that spark merging causes babies and Ravi was concerned that she was getting a tumour or something. Soundwave told her there was another mind in there and she didn't know what to think because point: SW doesn't lie to her but counterpart: that is so fucking crazy! Which is how he ended up getting born on a worksite and then Shenanigans Ensued.

There is no cougaraider/Predacon hybrid breeding project in that AU and as a result of it, all of the cougaraiders are 80000% less mentally damaged. Glit in particular was raised by Ravage as his carrier and encouraged to defend himself but also to pursue his interests, meaning that he was around Ratchet practically since emergence. And as they were never slaves--not to Ratbat, not to Pharma--Glit grew up with his mama encouraging him to bite when necessary and also has much better self-preservation instincts.
