As always, I want to apologize for not being able to get to everyone - literally nobody has ever complained about it, but I still feel bad 😅I appreciate everyone's questions and sweet messages all the same, and even if your ask isn't here I hope you can be entertained by the other replies!

Anon I feel terrible about having to say this because I can tell you were hoping for a specific answer here, plus doing your very best to sell your pitch to me -

But DU drow hates body hair.

I'm not making this up in the spot just to be a contrarian, this is one of various unimportant character details that have come up already at some point or another, for whatever reason. It is no coincidence that many of the characters he finds unattractive do have visible body hair, like Gale and Halsin whose hairy toes he dreads the sight of.

I refuse to believe that elves are truly dolphin-smooth as that would be an absolute biological nightmare, so both him and Astarion have a normal amount of peach-fuzz all over. Otherwise, DU drow finds the sight of anything longer/coarser than that unseemly, and the feeling unpleasant; it is simply what he grew up with and hence what he's used to. In this respect, he wants people who take after his own image.

As with most things, he could forgive it if he were in love with someone - assuming you don't mind the occasional joke about it. And unfortunately I think something as significant as Halsin's case would be too off-putting for him to ever give them a chance. A Shadowheart situation, on the other hand, he could grow to like.

I believe there's some sources that imply bhaal-corrupted(?) blood should taste a particular way, leaning towards the unpleasant. People can make up whatever headcanons they want with that information, BUT since I spent over half of this game supplying the guy with the stuff and he seemed all too pleased about it, I choose to assume it's not that bad.

I think there would be something... Lively about it? Fairly normal taste but it leaves a tingle on his tongue, like it squirms on its way out and dies in his mouth moments before it can hit the throat. Very salty, but it could just be his skin.

[FAR, FAR MORE UNDER THE CUT]

Bhaalist DU drow likes both cats and dogs just fine (again, he considers the animal kingdom to be it's own thing and hence removed from his fate to butcher humanity) and you wouldn't be wrong to assume he has a thing for dogs in that AU because of their unconditionally loving and loyal nature, however Bhaalist DU drow is still very much a cat person. He likes their independence, their little attitudes, their self-sufficiency, plus the fact that they keep the rat population in check inside the temple. He finds those qualities admirable, respectable, perhaps he would even find them desirable in a partner if, unlike he cats, he wasn't so opposed to them roaming free.

In-game DU drow succeeded the check required to spot Astarion before he could jump him - so yes, just not the version where they end up rolling awkward around the sand for 2 minutes, LOL.

He's semi aware of it, or at least he becomes aware whenever Astarion's mask slips. When Astarion is putting on a good performance, DU drow wholeheartedly believes it. Also, It's worth noting that Astarion does manage to have fun occasionally, and have periods of... Superficial happiness? They just so happen to be unfulfilling, and don't make up for all the other pitfalls of his situation when they inevitably come crashing back. He's also great at tricking himself into thinking this is a good time.

Bhaalist DU drow makes vague attempts at "making things better" whenever he catches him in a mood, usually through physical affection or lavish gifts. That works well enough the first year I think, before everything kind of loses its luster. After that, DU drow just gets it into his head that Astarion "doesn't understand what he must do to succeed and keep him safe".

This is a VERY interesting observation and... Maybe? Especially early in the relationship, DU drow finds Astarion's quasi-predatorial behavior very attractive, but only AFTER he notices his vampirism. I think this outlook of the character contextualizes Astarion's condition in a way that he can immediately understand and simpathize with, even if DU drow doesn't know much about vampires themselves. Of course, this is specific to Astarion - he does not extend this grace to the rest of his kind.

I'll be thinking about this one!

I don't know the video in question but from your description I think they would both be VERY confused, LOL.

HMM, I think that might actually depend on a lot of things! Assuming the woman (or just the other partner) in the relationship isn't a drow, and exactly what KIND of devotion we're talking about (is the drow pro-active? Protective? Does he put his neck on the line for this relationship with pride? Does he seem strong and capable and like he doesn't rely on his partner?) he might see enough of himself in him that they could actually get along. This is similar to how DU drow immediately took a liking to Aylin even though she's this moon-goddess child and a supposed beacon of justice.

The quickest way to get on DU drow's good side is to be the idealized version of what he believes himself to be. Oh, and not get in his way.

If they're both drow it's kind of hopeless though, yeah LOL.

I think Astarion was just kind of baffled by what transpired until DU drow turned to while hopping around pulling his pants back on and asked if he enjoyed the show, then he remembered he just loves finding any excuse to take his clothes off.

Thank you!!! A lot has actually been said about Gortash in my #enver gortash tag, if you'd like to get all the gritty details. Suffice to say that they had a very odd but significant friendship.

DU drow is the kind of person who shoots awake as soon as the sun starts gracing the sky, but he tends to do whatever he has to do and then go back to bed right after, and stay there at least a bit past noon. He did this both in his bhaalist days and in Astarion's company, though the amount of time he spends asleep during the day definitely increases because of the vamp, especially over time!

So, the urethra in a penis is located pretty much on the underside of the shaft, so the wound actually does not reach it! As far as functions go - peeing and ejaculating - it comes out of the tip's opening as normal. When he first caused the wound it probably did puncture the urethra, but that would have closed up over time. What you see is the injury many years after the fact, after all.

So the implications are pretty minor. Aesthetically, his foreskin hangs a bit weirdly when he's soft (like a tiny little penis curtain) and has more give than usual. Functionally, he has spots within the scarred up injury that are either numb or overly sensitive. Also, you can kind of see the dickhead notch through his underwear which is fun.

Otherwise, that is pretty much it! No worries about the nature of the question I've gotten worse, LOL. Thank you for your kind words as well!

I think he used to write in his bhaalist days - very, very occasionally mind you - like if you scoured the temple you would find a dozen or so ripped up pieces of paper with little short poems on them, written in a very sharp and carefree hand. Anywhere from 3 to 10 lines per-poem, usually less than more. The sentences are descriptive of actions, never feelings or thoughts, but they don't ever seem literal.

Back in those days, he also went to the theater every other year.

Post-tadpole, he ends up dabbling in carpentry, leather-work, and enjoys listening for musical numbers taking place in taverns and inns to go to and watch. He eventually starts pulling Astarion into little slow dances when that happens. I think he might end up writing again someday, but not for many, many years.

This was why when you're not asleep in between schedules, you're spotted with a male idol you happened to meet in the gym you were at that day. It's a known fact though, that you and Bang Chan are gym buddies and each other's spotter. Word Count: 2k+ Warnings: Internet toxicity, sasaengs, vulgar language, sexism, misogyny, pining, fluff, mentions of Pentagon because why not <3, etc.

A/N: Girl, i shouldn't do this but I did. It's so funny to me someone requested this cause I have recently become an exercise junkie lol. Also, if you can't tell, there is a pov shift after the cut so yeah. I also wanted to keep the reader gender neutral but I want to write about how psychotically different people treat male and female idols because that stuff aint it. It's most definitely not what anon was expecting me to write but I hope they enjoy it nonetheless.

There's compilation in YT with growing parts centered around you flexing your physical fitness and prowess. It ranges from you affectionally touring your fans, which really meant the cameraman, through the gym, introducing your trainer, and doing your routine on camera, to your group (and others) both fawning and bragging about how strong and how hot you are.

CLIP #1: A scene from an interview of your group in Japan, struggling to talk about how you can do 40 straight push ups.

There was a male interviewer in a suit you could all faintly recognize was talking about your recent Instagram post of a gym mirror selfie.

One of your youngest members smirked and in broken Japanese, cutely said, "Wah, she does 100 push ups! Everyday, every night."

You snap your head to the maknae and raise your brows, "nani?" You begin to shake your hands in protest and begin to explain your truth, "absolutely not 100. Maybe around 40, but nooooo, not 100."

The interviewer and your group comically react in awe. The man in the suit urges, "can you show us?"

You give a face, "Excuse me, but I'm not getting paid to do that in this miniskirt."

Everyone, including the film crew, break into laughter.

CLIP #2: A scene from a variety show where you had to prove you were, in fact, yourself, by doing a shortened version of your exercise routine.

One of the hosts of the show asks, "Wait, do you honestly do all of this in your workout? Like you can do all of it?"

The list of your exercises were written on a colourful cardboard, held by the one who just spoke. It was a range of exercises in 10 sets, from jumping jacks to sit ups, to vague sounding exercises like crab pinches and robot arms.

You purse your lips at the last question asked of you, not really liking the tone in which it was asked. You answer quickly and nod proudly, "I actually do more, cause when I get in the zone and I'm already really sweaty, I feel like I should keep going until my whole body burns." You chuckle.

The older hosts, tilt their head and mutter lowly under their breath something along the lines of, "I'd rather die."

You finally do the routine, quickly, continuously, earning impressed reactions from everyone.

"That's hot," one of the hosts note.

"Ya, for some reason it looks easy to do."

The hosts begin to clamour at that statement, and force whoever said to do the exact thing you did. Clearly, they don't work out as much as you do and cannot even get halfway through it without stopping.

You break out into a breathless laugh in amusement of the comical attempt but then protest, explaining how bad it is to force yourself to do more than you can

CLIP #3: Pentagon, Hongseok especially, fawns over how fit you are

Trailing a conversation about how your group is close with Pentagon because your companies are situated closely to each other and you wind up eating together a lot, there is an anecdote about how there was a jar no one could open, no one but you, that is.

The interviewer asks no one in particular, "wah, none of you could open the jar? Really? Or did you all just pretend so she could open it?"

There is a chorus of answers concluding with, "no really, she was the only one that was able to open it."

The story is backed up by how the jar had a really small lid and some hands were too big. Then came an explanation how you were recently into the new rock climbing machine in your gym.

Hongseok speaks up, "I was invited to go to rock climbing in, like, an actual rock climbing place and I was honestly so surprised when she began to climb. She said she never actually tried rock climbing on a wall, but it seemed like she had been doing it for years."

Shinwon agrees, "Right, right. I was also really curious about what they did that day," he points to Hongseok, "that I joined them one time. I never felt so out of shape in my life. I just stayed back and filmed everything."

Pentagon laughs, and then agrees that you were exceptionally fast and just super fit in all honesty.

The interviewer catches Hongseok's expression then suddenly asks, "do you like a woman like that?"

"Yeah, I like my women strong."

Then came a lot of teasing remarks from Pentagon, and a plethora of complaints from delusional fans who did not want Hongseok to ever breathe in your direction again.

With all that's been said about that, in all the parts of this series floating around in the internet, one thing remained, there was a slightly larger population of impressed fans than the still large portion of antifans who wanted nothing to do with it and only came around to hate.

It's hard not to think about it, but even the slightest back handed compliment can sometimes linger in one's mind.

And right now, as much as I kept my mind on my counting as I finished my set high knees, I couldn't help but think of how much backlash I got from posting a post workout photo with my midriff exposed.

Apparently that was not only enough to merit hate for being both a whore and an attention whore, but people baselessly began to hate on my groupmates simply for being associated with me.

It's kind of sad really, how, say Wonho, can post a fairly exposed photo of himself and get so much praise for it, and yet I couldn't even do anything remotely close to that.

And I don't even mean to come at Wonho, we all know he's a beast at the gym and should be able to show as much of his hard work as he is comfortable in showing, but why can't I?

"Hey trooper. I thought you said you were only doing 80 counts?" a voice cracks me out of my train of thought.

I turn to whom spoke and chuckle at myself as I stop my leg raises, "ah yeah, I got lost in thought, and your really good song."

I pull on my earphones and give a lopside smile, "I love working out to God's Menu."

He gives a soft, "he he, thanks."

"No need for a thank you when I'm only giving my honest opinion, Chan."

"Yeah, well still, it makes my kokoro go doki-doki," he sniggers, crossing his arms and flashing a dimpled smile. I raise my upper lip and reel back, "EWWW!"

I playfully shove him. He acts hurt, "this is violence against children."

"Chan, you're literally older than me."

"That doesn't mean I'm not a child at heart."

"You mean, it doesn't mean you're not a drama queen."

"Hey, I have no interest in having a throne, my only interest is," he leans in and whispers, "you."

I feel my soul leave my body as he snorts to himself and runs away. I regurgitate in surprise, "YA!"

"You better do your next set properly," Chan says heading off to a cable row machine, "I'm always watching."

I try to ignore the blood rushing up your neck, "creep."

He shrugs, "rather that or have you get injured, sweet heart."

Yeah, Chan has saved me from a lot of injuries I could have had. It was a bad habit. It stemmed from the same thing that made me mess up my count a while ago, my overthinking.

Sometimes I thought of rather harmless things, but sometimes I began to fixate on the hate I received for simply being. I do a lot to get my mind to realize that they hated me simply because they could and because it was easy. Exercising helped tremendously, especially when I had someone fun to work out with, especially when I was with Chan. He just... made me feel safe, y'know.

But when the news of us being work out buddies surfaced, a lot of sasaengs came for me. Of course, a lot of Stays and my own fans were really kind about, speaking out that we were our own people and exercising together did not mean anything in particular really.

But some really went for it, and made it a hobby to comment on everything I was in that I was a slut for 'working out' with different men every day."

I let out a breath as I finish my routine. I catch my breath and go for a swig of my water. I take a moment then sit down by the mirror, which was near where Chan was currently working out.

"You're doing it again."

I turn from where I was blankly staring at turn to Chan who gave me a soft look, "you good?"

I release a sigh then purse my lips, "maybe."

He pouts, "what happened?"

I shrug and stand from where I sat, "you know, the usual."

Chan then comes up to me and takes my water bottle from me, "you know, no matter how much people say you don't need water to live, you can never change the fact that you are extremely dependent on water to live."

I look at him and half- heartedly point, "are you calling me thirsty?"

He begrudgingly groans and releases a chuckle. He calls my name out in a scolding tone. I feel myself relax, "I know what you're getting at Chan."

He nods, "good. I'll always be here to remind you of that."

I smile and feel an urge to hug him, "if you weren't so sweaty, I would totally hug you right now."

Chan then gives me a look then does not hesitate to crush me into his arms. I groan and whine in protest. He chuckles, "you literally just said you wanted a hug!"

"YOU'RE LITERALLY SO SWEATY. NO ONE WANTS THIS TORTURE."

Chan huffs and gives a wounded look, "hmp. You better spot me while I lift or else I'm unfriending you."

"Hmm... I think I'll be good without you as a friend."

I half expect Chan to whine about it, but he instead smirks, "ahhhh, you must want me to be your boyfriends so badly huh."

CLIP #4: A crack edit of Chan when he gets asked about his gym relationship with me in Chan's Room.

He was looking through the questions and suddenly chuckles, his ears noticeably began to redden. Cue a zoom in of his face and his red ears. Cue a clip of Cardi B saying, "that's suspicious."

He says my name then continues, "am I close with her? Yeah. I would say I'm close with her-- and her whole group actually."

Captioned: Nice save, Chris.

"The kids and I are close with her group," he says, clearing his throat.

A clip of him clearing his throat is repeated about ten times.

Chan adjust the beanie he was wearing as he thinks of what he was going to say next, "we actually do work out together a lot because she's under a trainer that works with my trainer."

Okay so different anon there I don’t know what the muslim anon said to you but I’m not even Muslim and I’m honestly shock about how this fandom turned out to be. Anon, I can’t tell whether you’re a troll or not, and I normally don’t post asks like this, but this is clearly a controversial issue that has bothered a lot of people, so I’m going to use this to set out my opinion once and for all. I won’t be addressing it any further after this.

1) Why aren’t Chinese citizens speaking out against this?

I’m not sure where you got this quote “people in China aren’t aware”, but I’m guessing it came from this previous post. I’m going to urge you to read @potteresque-ire‘s incredibly informative post here on the amount of propaganda that Chinese citizens are bombarded with on a daily basis. The media is controlled by the CCP, the Internet is controlled and monitored by the CCP, and the citizens are taught CCP’s revisionist history and CCP propaganda from birth. Heck, even their social media is controlled by the CCP. When you are exposed to this amount of propaganda your whole life, who do you think Chinese citizens will believe when their country tells them that other countries are making up lies about human rights abuses occurring in China in order to tarnish China’s name because the world is afraid of China’s economic might? You don’t even have to look far - just go on W*ibo and read a sampling of the posts there supporting Xinjiang cotton, and that should tell you a lot. Now, @potteresque-ire has also helpfully compiled how these “re-education camps” are framed in the Western media and in the Chinese media here. I’m going to ask you to watch those videos, and then ask you to exercise your critical thinking skills and reflect on what an average Chinese citizen might be exposed to on a daily basis, and how that shapes their belief. 

Now, even if the Chinese citizens do believe that human rights violations occurred in Xinjiang, can they express this opinion? Well, not if they don’t want to run afoul of the morality guidelines for citizens. From the article I linked:

The guidelines, focusing heavily on promoting patriotism, also called for the formulation of “national etiquette” for things such as singing the national anthem, raising the national flag, or ceremonies for when one joins the ruling Chinese communist party (CCP).

Such etiquette should “enhance people’s attitude toward the party and country and organise a collective sense of identity and belonging”, according to the document, released by the party’s central committee and the state council.

2) Why aren’t GG/DD speaking out against this?

Leaving aside whether GGDD believe that there are human rights violations occurring Xinjiang, something that I see happening is international fans expressing outrage at their response. I am going to point you to a previous post on to explain why they made the statements they made. Heck, you know what, I’m just going to paste what I wrote in that previous post here: 

The reality is that as performers, GG DD are also very limited by what they are allowed to support/say. This isn’t something that fans are making up to defend them - in March, the CCP passed new guidelines in wake of the ZS scandal that explicitly states that any performer who breaches these guidelines can face a lifetime ban. One of these guidelines is for performers to “ardently love the motherland, support the Party’s line, principle and policies… and consciously accept [government] and societal supervision.”

From the Variety article that I linked:

First and foremost, artists will be punished for violating China’s constitution, “endangering national unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity,” endangering national security, or “harming national honor and interests.” The second ban is on “inciting ethnic hatred.. or undermining ethnic unity.” The cocktail of above terms are charges frequently levelled at those speaking up about human rights violations, particularly related to the fraught regions of Xinjiang or Tibet.

Realistically, there is nothing that they can say. As soon as they speak out against the CCP, as soon as they fail to express support for the CCP’s policies or for the CCP’s narrative, they’re finished. They will never work again. I am not exaggerating about this last point. Again, from the Variety article:

Beyond issuing performance bans, the committee will try to “implement cross-industry joint punishment,” working with players in other fields to bar violators from financial or cultural success via other channels like endorsement deals. Violators may also have their awards and other honors revoked, and will be subject to a measure of critical “re-education.”

This is the reality that they live in. They live and work in a country that is deeply manipulative and oppressive, and which has almost complete control over how they were brought up, how they were educated, and which currently holds the reins over their livelihood and their future. 

Am I disappointed at their respective statements? Yes I am, but given the reality of life under an oppressive regime, I am not the least bit surprised, and more importantly, nor do I fault them.

James Scanlon, a retired Columbus Division of Police SWAT officer who spent 33 years with the division, has since trained officers, and served as an expert witness at trials in use-of-force cases, agreed with Stinson's assessment of the video.

"An officer is justified in using deadly force if his life or the life of someone else is at risk," Scanlon said Wednesday. "Few would argue that there weren't at least two lives there that were at serious risk."

In this case, Scanlon said, Reardon wasn't trying to protect himself, "but to save the life of someone he doesn't even know. ... It's a shame that no one has recognized that that officer, in all likelihood, saved one or more lives."

The legal standard by which an officer's use of force must be measured was established by the U.S. Supreme Court in the Graham vs. Connor decision.

The ruling, issued in 1989, gives police officers significant leeway in the use of deadly force when they perceive that a person poses an imminent threat to officers or others, and limits the second-guessing of that decision.

The ruling requires that an officer's actions be "judged from the perspective of a reasonable officer on the scene, rather than with the 20/20 vision of hindsight."

Any evaluation of an officer's actions must include "allowance for the fact that police officers are often forced to make split-second judgments – in circumstances that are tense, uncertain and rapidly evolving," the court found.

Stinson said Tuesday's shooting is "a good reminder that officers sometimes have to make split-second, life-or-death decisions in violent street encounters. ... These situations can escalate in a matter of milliseconds, as we saw here."

Taser, other options not available before Ma'Khia Bryant shooting

Although such shootings inevitably generate questions from the public about why an officer didn't use de-escalation techniques, or deploy a Taser or shoot the person in the leg, none of those options appeared to be available to the officer, both experts agreed.

"I don't know what the officer could have done differently," Stinson said. "Based on what I saw, there was no opportunity for the officer to de-escalate."

Scanlon said use of a Taser isn't an appropriate response "to a lethal-force situation," and police are trained to target only one thing when they shoot to protect themselves or others — "center mass" of the person they're trying to stop.

Use-of-force:Police training cited as defense in many use-of-force cases, but experts say it's outdated.

Officers are trained "to shoot until the threat is neutralized," he said.

Scanlon said the body-camera footage "is a textbook scenario that an officer would see in a film during a 'shoot/don't shoot' training exercise. That's exactly the kind of film you'd see in training rooms where you have to react to a deadly situation."

Stinson said officers "are trained and they're re-trained in use-of-force situations. One problem we see is officers who react in ways that are inconsistent with their training. I did not see that in this video.

"In this situation, inaction by the officer, I believe, would likely have resulted in serious bodily injury or death to one or more persons."

There was some confusion Wednesday about whether Columbus City Council President Shannon Hardin was suggesting that the officer had options other than deadly force.

In a written statement issued that morning, Hardin responded to the shooting by advocating change in "the city's training and hiring process. We must push for a new culture in Columbus where guns are not the final answer to every threat, and we must implement a new vision of safety in Columbus."

Based on that remark, Columbus Mayor Andrew J. Ginther was asked at an afternoon news conference if the officer should have handled Tuesday's confrontation differently.

"A lot of the other reforms and efforts that should be involved will help," the mayor said. "I don’t know if any of those things would have resulted in a different outcome based on what we’ve seen in this footage, but we won't know until this investigation is finished."

The council's chief of staff, Michael S. Brown, said late Wednesday afternoon that Hardin's statement had been misinterpreted.

Hardin was referring to a culture of gun violence "in our society as a whole," not about police officers using guns as an answer to every threat, Brown said.

"It's not about this one case."

Superstition Romance Poll Results

On June 23 2020, I opened up a romance poll about the interactive fiction game Superstition by @13leaguestories. I closed it on July 21 2020, so a good month later, and then compiled the results! There are a total of 189 answers. I was really happy to read all of the personal opinions people shared on the survey about the ROs, and am going to share some of them here. The results are under the cut! You'll find the results both in tables and described in text.

The Players' Gender

The first question asked was about the gender of the players. With 118 votes, the majority of people who answered the survey said they are female. 53 people said they are male, and 18 people answered non-binary.

The gender of the player and their Roe does not have to be the same. There are female players who play non-binary or male Roes, same with male and non-binary players.

The most favourite romance so far (mid to end of Season 2) is without a doubt Sydero! 59 of 189 people voted for her as their favourite romance. In second place is Chris with 44 votes. Then comes Zillah with 39 votes, and Rahim with 31 votes. Amari is currently last with 15 votes to her name, which I'd mostly put on us not knowing her for long yet. Her low ranking might also be due to how I asked the questions.

I only let people who are interested in either men or women choose *one* favourite romance option, and when put against Sydero, Amari so far simply draws the shorter stick. I allowed people who play Roes who are interested in both men and women to pick a second favourite romance option. There, Amari got another 16 votes in total, especially from people who chose Sydero as their most favourite romance. So it's not that she does not have any fans, but so far she is a bit overshadowed by other romance options. Everyone who chose that their Roe is interested in "both" could answer this question. This means there were a total of 57 answers. In this question, 16 people named Amari as their second favourite romance. 10 of these votes are by Sydero fans, another 4 by Chrismancers, and 2 by Rahimancers. No person romancing Zillah as their main named Amari as their second favourite. Zillah got a total of 13 votes here. 5 by Chrismancers, 4 votes by Rahimancers, 3 votes by Sydmancers, and 1 vote by an Amari romancer. This also does not say anything about whether players have a platonic rivalry or friendship with the other characters. In summary, there is an overwhelming majority of people who friendmance these characters. Out of the 59 people who votes for Sydero as their most favourite romance, 52 people chose friendmancing vs 7 rivalmancers.

After her comes Zillah in second to last place with 10 votes, and Rahim only got 3 votes. Rahim doesn't quite make it easy to warm up to him.

The Forbidden Ones aka The Cursed Romances

Many people have expressed their desire to get to know various characters intimately, and I gave them the opportunity to vote for their biggest desires. This was an optional question, some skipped it. Furthermore, it was possible to select multiple answers in this one and add one additional answer. I won't make a bigger summary out of this and mostly only list the ranking below. But here's the top five: With 53 votes, the most people selected to call the entire question pure blasphemy and to rat me out to Tierra... I can tell you though that a good chunk of these people also selected other options additionally to this one. With 51 votes, the Italian suit wearing fallen angel Azrael is in second place. He only had a short amount of screentime, but his formal attire and mysterious nature must have enchanted a good amount of people. With 44 votes, the beautiful skeleton from the Superstition Season 2 itchio page is in third place! Who can possibly resist its wonderfully coloured bones? Ttb def has a shtick. She posts incredibly outrageous, unlikely, or even inflammatory asks sent to her by “anons” (sometimes I wonder if some of the anons are herself). If you need anything, he’ll have one of his ghouls fetch it for you. Books, art supplies, anything to make your time in bed a little less taxing. 

All the while, he’s preparing a magical cure that will mend your leg much faster than it would have mended on its own. You can expect to be out of bed much sooner than expected! 

Papa II:

You know how Papa II isn’t the type of guy to stay with you the whole time when you’ve got a cold?

Broken bones are different. 

He would bring his paperwork and other things into the room with you, so he can still work while being with you. 

If you need anything at all, he’ll fetch it himself for you. Personally. 

If you broke your leg doing something stupid, you know he’s going to scold you for it. “I told you to be careful, caro, and look what happened. You could have been killed!”

But he figures being stuck in bed for the coming weeks is more than enough of a punishment, and doesn’t get on your case too much. 

He’d do his best to preserve your sense of independence, what little’s left of it--he’s well aware of how helpless it feels to be trapped with a broken bone.

Even long after you’re asleep for the night, he continues to watch over you. 

Papa III:

Clear his schedule for the next six to eight weeks--you’re the only thing he’s concerned about! 

He’s the best bedside companion. Vine compilations, movies, books, TV, videogames...this man will provide all of those things! The two of you can laugh together at the silly things on the screen, or get invested a videogame. 

He would want to know exactly how you broke your leg--if he wasn’t there when it happened, anyway. Knowing the pair of you, it could very well have been something stupid the two of you were doing. 

You can bet he feels guilty about it, if that’s the case. 

But at least you’ll have a story to tell after all of this, eh?

If he can, he’d want to have you out of bed and in a wheelchair as soon as possible. Forget this boring old room, tesoro--let’s get you out and about!

Like Papa II, he brings his work to your room so he can be by your side while you recover. 

He takes care of remembering your medications and making sure you’re getting enough food and water.

If you want to talk to him, he’ll stop work and have conversations with you--though let’s be honest, he’s going to be asking you lots of questions anyway. “How are you feeling? Are you in any pain, topolino? Do you need anything?”

He would cook your favorite meals for you. His cooking skills might not be as legendary or well-known as Nihil’s, but he’s a damn good chef, either way, as you know. 

If he absolutely can’t be with you, he leaves a few of his rats to keep an eye on you. Just tell them if you need him, though, and he’ll come running! 

Once it comes time for physical therapy, he’s going to be with you every step of the way, no matter how difficult it gets. He’s the best motivator.

perhaps it's the ones that are too good to be true. seungmin is too flawed yet that's what makes him good, he owns up to his imperfections, hence making him level-headed and moral. jisung, on the other hand, has not shown a single imperfection throughout the entire fic, and as my favorite saying goes:

Or just tell her things are a lot, or just go spend time with her? Just to give yourself some space to breathe, and feel, without worrying that it'll add to John's frustrations. Especially if you're tired today from lack of sleep.

Ohh–previous anon here–I missed that you’re already on the way to Edinburgh. Not Mrs. Hudson, then. But maybe some time out on a walk in nature. That helps me when I’m frayed and my partner has his own frustrations I don’t want to add to.

I don’t think you were wrong to ask John to go back to the therapist. It sounds like it was important to you, and you didn’t push very hard. It’s all right to do things that make John uncomfortable if it’s something you need, sometimes–I say this because that’s hard for me too; but we both do better long-term if I explore the things I need to.

It seems like you’re both looking at the circumstances realistically. If she’s helping you think it through, even if she doesn’t understand why you’re doing it, seems like she’s still done good–helping you both get your own thoughts straight. Therapy is really good for that, for me.

Yes, it has been helpful in that sense.  I can see the benefit in it.  If I didn’t, I wouldn’t be committing to go.  

My experience with psychology in the past has been less than ideal.  I felt a bit of a lab rat, to be honest, and I have issues with the pathologising of difference, with trying to fit something as complex as a human being into neat boxes, or the labelling of one trait or another as aberrant as opposed to ‘normal’.  

I suppose that is a bit of the pot calling the kettle black, as I do recognise that you can infer a great deal by observing someone’s traits and proclivities over time, and in that way can begin to paint a fairly clear picture for yourself of their future actions.  But observing someone and inferring their future actions based on patterns of behaviour is somewhat different from assigning values of ‘normal’ or ‘abnormal’ to those behaviours, and thus purposefully, or inadvertently shoring up all the attendant moral judgements and prejudices that naturally evolve from such valuation.  

A ‘diagnosis’ is meant to be helpful, I suppose, but it can become a cage you are expected to live in, and chains that people choose to bind you with, and I’m not sure whether it has all done me any good in the end.  I’m sure others have had better experiences, but I have not.

But, seeing Ella, and the other therapist for our joint session has been helpful insomuch as it has provided a space for me to at least attempt to verbalise my thoughts and feelings.  

I have never been adept at identifying feelings, at least not beyond good and bad.  Over time I have compiled lists, of sensations and can then label certain combinations of sensations as particular emotions.  I know the prickling, buzzing, burning sensation of too much, of anxiety and fear, and the soft quiet of peace and contentment, and the bubbling warmth of joy.  And I know love, though it is complex and difficult to define, it has a sensation that is different from most other things.  A magnetic draw, mixed up with all the other things I’ve just mentioned.  But it took years to even come up with those meagre categories.  When I was a child, it was simply ‘feels good’ or ‘feels bad’.  Most of the time everything was too much unless I was engrossed in a particular interest, and then everything else faded and it was bliss.

John helps.  There is something about him that is very grounding.  When John is present everything seems to quiet and order, even when my brain is being troublesome, even when there is too much sensory input and I’m overwhelmed, there is something about John which helps.  I’m not sure he sees that.  I often think that John doesn’t recognise his value.  That is partially a failing on my part.  I have not been diligent in communicating his value to me.  I regret that, and I have been endeavouring to do better.  

But here I am boring you all again.  I’m not sure why I’m so horribly chatty today.  Boredom, I suppose…  

We’re almost to Edinburgh, though.  Then we just have to rent a car and drive out to the house, another hour and a half.  I must admit I don’t remember it being so far out to Fintry.  John’s likely to be displeased.  Perhaps I can convince him that the conference isn’t all that vital after all, or we will just drive into town early, and I’ll busy myself until he is finished with whatever tedious things it is he has to do.
