Kim Burgess or Makayla (this is mean, I know 😂) - this is super mean of you, but ultimately, a big part of my love of Makayla comes from my love of Kim, so Kim it is!

Violet or Hawkins - I love Violet so dearly, she seriously gives Stella a run for her money when it comes to my favourite oc girlie and also, as much as I love Hawkins, I love him a lot because of Hawkami.

Ritter or Gallo - It was mean of you to put my two boys together, but Ritter is just my favourite without a doubt.

Connor or Boden - This was SO SO CRUEL of you. These two are two of my favourites and it was so bloody hard to chose between them. Because Boden is so special to me, my daddy issues riddled ass eats him all up. But Connor is one of my main reasons for getting into OC so I just had to chose him.

Adam or Trudy - Adam without a doubt. My brainrot for him goes deep.

Erin or Jay - Erin. There's problematic stuff about her, but I love her so dearly.

Gabby or Hailey - This choice surprised me, because when I first started watching, I definitely would've made a different choice, but I have really enjoyed Hailey in season 10, and then what we've had so far in 11 and doing my rewatch of fire recently, I was left more annoyed with Gabby then I did enjoy her.

Ethan or Sarah - Sarah is my girl !! If Stella is my most favourite of CF, and Kim of PD, Sarah is my med favourite!

Robert Chase or Matt Casey - This was super super mean, but ultimately, I consistently agree with and like Matt all the time basically, whereas I sometimes in some episodes don't jive with Chase.

Three Sentence Review: This was such a fun, fast read! I love short story collections that are woven together in one time and place like this, even if I am certainly older than the target audience for this particular book. I think all of the lessons in this book make it a great and important read for kids and adults of all backgrounds and ages.

i need this. like, here is my vision- norrisville is a clan of cats, right? for now, we're calling the clan "brightclan" bc i am uncreative but, brightclan also had their own version of the norisu 9- the first ninja was this former kittypet who had gotten some of his fur dyed green and it just never came with; he was a curious boy, genuinely loved the outdoors and would spend his time wandering the forest which is how he found brightclan and his littermates (eight of them, mind you) followed suit

but first ninja was given the warrior name pouncepaw - pouncepaw and his brothers were resilient warriors, given the nickname "norisu 9" (for lack of better name-) because they excelled in what they did but of course- the clan was having issues with a band of rogues (where the sorcerer and his mate, the sorceress, came from!)

pouncepaw was close to becoming a warrior, but because he had begun his training late- due to ex-kittypet status- he didn't have an earned warrior name. his siblings, albeit not all from the same litter, were tasked with taking on the rogues; in an attempt to drive them out as they were causing problems on the clan- but something went south... pouncepaw still remembers the blood, the yowls even - how even his brothers were no match for the rogues (pouncepaw was given his warrior name after for his bravery, but he was the sole survivor)

now pouncestrike, he and his best friend pumpkinheart were leaving camp often- determined more than ever to take those down rogues; no one's entirely sure how it happened but the two rogues were banished from the territory- never to return...

pouncestrike went missing one day- no one was entirely sure what happened to him; some claimed he simply returned to his kittypet life, others thought he just went rogue- unable to deal with the deaths of his littermates but whispers foretold of a great warrior - the one cat who would protect them from harm (what they didn't know is it was different cats chosen, for their bravery- their courage- their true heart)

generations would come to pass within brightclan and soon enough, current times brought a new apprentice- the cat who would finally put an end to the rogues once and for all (not that anyone knew it yet-); let me have fun with this idea- i realize it barely manages to make sense

in comes our boy- violetpaw (currently just a placeholder name!) who was certainly a... unique cat; he seemed clumsy, but he had proven he would protect those who needed it and thus it was when the messenger delivered the message. except violetpaw didn't understand the teachings as well as the others, needing a little extra nudge from the cat version of the nomicon (genuinely for now, i think the nomicon should be like a starclan warrior or something visiting the ninjas in their dreams? i'll fix this later-)

violetpaw and his best friend flamepaw are apprentices known for their mischief, but of course- the rogue known as shade (also a placeholder name!) is back; and two of the warriors (mcfist is sandswipe? stoatfang? and viceroy, willowstrike) are apparently in cahoots with shade

tldr; the ninjas are warriors with a unique set of skills and abilities that set them out from the rest- they are referred to as 'silent warriors' (until i come up with a better name) and currently, violetpaw is chosen to take on the mantle. the mind-wipe would likely play out differently bc i am not that mean and obviously cats have a different perception of ages/years than a human would-

maybe i'm reading too much into this but whatever this has been bothering me, an east asian american

the first run of the atla comics was written (under bryke's direction, most of the post-canon comics were under bryke's direction, you can check wikipedia's handy chart if you want to doubt me) by gene yang and the art was done by gurihiru. those comics rightfully got backlash for the horrendous portrayal of katara and other topics that first round of comics had

the new batch of comics from imbalance on is written by faith erin hicks and the art is done by peter wartman (story direction is credited to bryke with the exception of the character standalones, all written solely by faith erin hicks). both writer and artists are white to my knowledge

now, the promise came out in 2012 and imbalance came out end of 2018 start of 2019. between those two comics, there are at least five years of criticism to take into (idk how long it takes to produce a comic, but let's assume it's like a 22 minute animated episode and it takes about a year for one part of the trilogy to produce). five years of fans slamming choices made in the promise, the rift, the search, and smoke and shadow. that criticism likely influenced bryke to attempt to make amends for it, given that at least one of them has access to tumblr and both likely have twitter (i don't know about twitter, but i don't want to check, keep those assholes away from me)

while i'm a little weirded out that both the asian writer and the asian artists are no longer working on atla and it's now the white creatives that get to work on the comics, now all of a sudden the comic storylines are better. part of that stems from the rightful criticism that the comics got, but a part of me is weirded out that the asian creatives have been raked over the coals over a storyline direction greenlit by bryke and conveniently, the white author is the one who gets to write the stories praised by the fandom because she's a woman and not a stinky man who hates the canon ships. very subtly drinking the r*dfem juice, but okay

something is bugging me because i KNOW that gene yang can write and y'all didn't read american born chinese and it SHOWS. also why are white people still in charge of the comics, there are easily multiple asian writers and comic artists they can look for. no i will not provide a list for you because i'm not in that industry and it is not my job to do the work for you. they found f.c. yee (who wrote the kyoshi and yangchen novels) and randy ribay (who wrote roku's novel), they know to look for asian authors, so why isn't that energy continued for the comics?

randy invited erin to an awards thing. it was daunting to go to the first place, but randy had been invited by a bigger comedian who wanted to introduce him to some connections, to help him get a tour started. a proper tour. and perhaps a recording. it was all so much, and so his only logical move had been to invite erin. his safety. his comfort. and god, they were so far apart now, randy caught up in a conversation with people he knew he was supposed to be networking with. he kept glancing over at erin, a small smile on his lips as he saw their endless charisma garnering them a little audience of their own. randy's own conversation switched from randy onto something about being a comic in 2023 and randy stole another glance only to find erin looking back at him this time, his smile wide as he mouth three little words that might have killed randy, right then, right there. 'i love you'. oh god, why here? why now? why when it was so inappropriate for randy to ditch his current company and go sweep erin up?
