So there was this post floating around talking about how egg arc fans were unfairly blaming inniters and just generally being bitter over the lore, I think I might have even reblogged because well I do agree with the sentiment somewhat, I don't think it's suprising or wrong to be at least a little annoyed given the absolute chokehold The Disc plot side of the fandom had and still has. Like of course people are going to be annoyed when you make every part of the lore about c!Tommy. I have been annoyed when people tag the eggpire in unrelated fancontent. Like, it's dsmp lore, I'm not trying to act like egg arc fans are some uniquely silenced portion of the fandom, but yeah. People did and do butcher other characters (often with female characters, in misogynistic ways) to fit the narrative of their fics. It is hard to find a fic without it being mostly about c!Tommy/Tubbo/Ranboo/ what have you, without filtering through a bunch of tags. It is frustrating to see fans who never watched the egg lore call it 'half-lore' or a side plot. It is annoying to see a storyline that has very little to do with c!Tommy, be made about c!Tommy. In animatics, in fanart, and in that one guy's dsmp netflix recap. And you know, this isn't exclusive to inniters. c!Dream fans too, are guilty of the same kind of 'need a filler character so let me just use c!antfrost or something' tropes, just in different ways. This would be a lot more eloquent if I remembered what that post said, and I hope this doesn't come off as too harsh, but yeah. Making c!Tommy the main character in arcs he comparatively had little to do with, arcs which are already seen as background lore and not important due to a self maintained cycle, and seeing your favorite characters butchered is annoying. Just because it makes you uncomfortable doesn't mean it's not true.

Came back to the dsmp grind today, didn't get to watch much. Had to do homework on stuff. But yeah, wilbur is back. Tommy is pissed. Ranboo is confused. And techno is way behind on what was happening.

Also, I love Sam!!! He cares about Tommy so much, he couldn't kill him. Wonder when the next Sam Nook appearance will be.

Forgot L'sandberg even existed to be honest. But can't wait to watch the Las Nevadas stuff that's coming up! I've kinda been letting my dsmp playlist to sit until I watched that 4 hour dsmp lore recap video. (They made me want to finish dsmp, so big ups to them)

Oops, looks like tumblr bit a random chunk out of my Phil lore ask - it's supposed to say: "Father status varies depending on server/fanon but generally ranges anywhere from biological or adoptive father of one-to-three (Wilbur Soot, Tommyinnit, Technoblade) (order of most likely to be his kid. Semi-canon sibling order is generally Techno oldest and/or twins with Wilbur with Wilbur being the younger twin and then Tommy youngest) though sometimes more (usually Tubbo and Ranboo, who are almost always adopted. Philza specifically found Tubbo in a box). On the Dream SMP specifically he also has a canonical grandson through Wilbur (Fundy) (and adoptive grandson, the NPC Michael, through Tubbo and Ranboo) (…and adoptive great-grandkids through Fundy again)"

Anyways his hardcore streams are probably the best place to start with Phil, since they're super chill and there isn't much of a story to catch up on since it's not an RP world, just misc shenanigans and in-jokes that you can pick up pretty quickly. Origins SMP is also very fun and some of the other members do upload videos to youtube about it so you can probably use that to get an idea of what's going on. The major swaths of his DSMP character you can probably glean through the Sad-ist animations, but the Extremely Rough Overview is basically "Philza Minecraft, Wilbur's dad. Wilbur dies, he is sad. Lives with Techno, he is glad. Spawns withers with Techno, he is bad? Destroys a country. Half-adopts a half-enderman. Joins a book club. Niki Nihachu is there. Phil's basement is a Bleach reference, just like everything else about him. Big Wife."

Glad you enjoyed my silly Phil lore recap though! He is a very fun chill streamer. Quality bird man 10/10.

Ah that's so fair! I love c and cc!Ranboo and it hurts that I don't know how to write them well (I write fics.) C!beeduo was also so sweet, I remember watching compilations of them and I do miss them hanging out but I also understand why the ccs would want to (the excessive shipping). c!Techno, is again a great character all though c!techno never peaked my interest, I love(d?) cc!Techno, and yeah, I miss him too o7. I didn't really watch a lot of streams, I got my lore through fanfiction and lore recaps/summaries, but the few streams I've watched have all been c!tommy (because I am so completely normal about him/j/lh). Not hating anyone is fair, I think they're all complex characters, but I still hate him (c!dream) bc of the child abuse (exile). Yeah I get how that feels, for me DSMP has been like, the only interest I have ever had. That's not an exaggeration. So its not as if I miss being in the fandom, its more I miss more people being in the fandom. I miss its popularity, cause I wasn't in the fandom back then. I also miss that theres no new content, but I also think that that's for the better. If you want a way to get back into dsmp, like really really into it, I can suggest both

a) Reading fics

b) animatics

I can send you some reccs if you want? cause I know that there are certain animatics/fics that I just go feral for, and strengthen my dsmp obsession.

Ranboo Lore Recap (April 28th)

Surprpise lore!!! We love surprise lore!!!!! (well at least I love surprise lore lol)

There was pretty much one section of actual lore and then people kept asking questions in dono's to c!Ranboo and I included those that I thought were important.

Ranboo wanders around for a while, talking about what history of the server he knows (which is some but not all, mostly vaguely big events).

He builds a little hut for Friend to keep him safe, then returns home.

He decides that he needs to get more totems (cause of wanting to give them to Tubbo and Tubbo being...well….Tubbo as well as for Phil and Tommy).

Ranboo starts making speed potions to help the journey. When opening one of the brewing stands he finds the splash potions of water. He stares at them for a while before Phil comes in, takes the water and splashes them into the ceiling away from Ranboo typing in chat “You are safe now”. Ranboo says that he told Phil a little bit about the experiments but lead him to believe that it was about resistance.

Ranboo opens his memory book to see if the enderwalk has responded to his question of “What am I?”, which it has.

“I am someone who stops conflict. I need to make sure that if any conflict arises to try and help in any way possible

MAKE SURE THAT EVERYONE IS SAFE.

STOP CONFLICT.

MAKE THE SERVER BETTER.

This is what I need to do. Trust me.”

Ranboo is slightly confused by this, talking about the current lack of conflict on the server, but agreeing that if any conflict started he would do his best to stop it.

Phil finds splash water in his house and asks Ranboo about it. Ranboo says he doesn’t know where they came from, that he has been using them to “build up a tolerance to water. Steam doesn’t hurt.”

“I’m super super scared. Cause Tubbo used up a totem yesterday. I might be able to put a totem on michael.”

“We’re getting totems to make sure everyones safe.”

Ranboo mentions that Tommy has been acting weird (referencing the thing with him wanting to get over all his trauma super fast) and all the stuff with the prison. Mentions how quiet it has been in the main area recently. And that he hasn't really seen Quackity or Fundy since Doomsday. (he later corrected himself about Fundy due to a dono reminding him about when FUndy and Phil visited Michael)

“I’ve been detached for so long I kind of don’t remember what people have done wrong”

“Both of us know that we have kept things from each other” (referring to his and tubbos marriage)

“Why I haven't told people about the enderwalk is because I literally can’t, I just get stopped. This is new.”

He mentions that he did tell Techno and maybe Phil at the beginning but they have probably forgotten about it by now.

“The one thing between me and Tubbo is that I hope that when I’m in the enderwalk I’m still careful. Cause if I slip up I won’t be able to explain.”

He doesn't think that writing stuff down to tell people would work because of the intention.

Dono: WHat did you do on the day of the red banquet? “I don't know, I probably just mined or something.”

Ranboo does not know that Techno took Tubbos second life at the Manberg Festival

I just watched EvenMcGamings new lore recap video, and yes, the production quality is great, but I am MAD.

No.

The fact that this dude is the most well known recap guy is infuriating, given how incredibly one-sided his recaps are. Like, either update without bias or don't do it at all.

Now, if you haven't seen the video or if you don't know Tubbo's lore and thus didn't know what was wrong, let me explain.

If you know Tubbo's lore, you'll know this is what happened:

After L'Manberg fell, he went off and made Snowchester. He invited a lot of people, but only Jack and Foolish stuck around. Some other people also moved in, but they weren't involved with Snowchester at all, they just had a house there. Tubbo built a nuclear factory and made nuclear weapons to keep it all safe.

Tubbo realized soon enough that both Jack and Foolish had other commitments. Foolish spent most of his time building his summer home, and while Tubbo had confided in Jack a lot and saw him as an equal, Jack moved out of Snowchester the second Tommy died and he could take over the hotel.

Tubbo did, however, get close to someone else, and that person was Ranboo. They ended up getting married (Tubbo was the leader of Snowchester, he could simply declare they were married, and that was it) and adopting a child, Michael. After a while, though, Tubbo found out Ranboo had been living with Techno and Phil, and had been hiding that from him. He didn't mind it that much. They kept the fact that they knew each other from Techno though, even when Techno came to inspect Snowchester for a government, they managed to hide it.

Ranboo only joined the syndicate because he had found out someone had threatened Tubbo and he'd been afraid that that person was in the syndicate. Ranboo figured the best way to protect Tubbo from harm was to join the syndicate so he could find out their plans beforehand.

Tommy got revived, and later Wilbur got revived also. Tubbo didn't trust Wilbur at all. He was too traumatized from what happened in L'Manberg.

Then Tubbo heard about Las Nevadas and Foolish soon after told Tubbo that he was leaving Snowchester for Las Nevadas. Tubbo went to scout the place and build the cookie outpost, and Ranboo came to help him. Sam and Foolish also showed up regularly, despite being part of Las Nevadas, and Fundy actually knew about the outpost also, although he was less happy with it.

Eventually, though, Quackity asked Tubbo to remove the walls from the Cookie Outpost, but Tubbo refused and Ranboo, for the first time, openly stood next to Tubbo. The conversation ended in a stalemate, with neither party being willing to compromise as much as the other asked.

That day, Tubbo told Ranboo about his execution, and he explained why he didn't trust Quackity and why he wasn't fond of Technoblade.

A bit later, Tubbo was sitting near the L'Manberg crater when he found out Ranboo had joined forces with Wilbur and Tommy to oppose Las Nevadas, and while Tubbo didn't trust Quackity, he had even less reasons to trust Wilbur, and he'd already told that to Ranboo. Tubbo and Wilbur had a huge fight after Tubbo told Ranboo to leave. Tubbo felt emotionally drained, and he realized that he hadn't had anything to truly live for in months. Hell, he'd even been suicidal.

This is when Tubbo decided to join forces with Quackity. He claimed he wanted to truly be a part of something again, but only a part of this was true. The main reason that Tubbo joined forces with Quackity was to oppose Wilbur.

Now that we've discussed what actually happened on Tubbo's streams, we can talk about what Evan said. Evan's inclusion of Tubbo looked about like this:

Ranboo joined the syndicate because he was close with Techno and Philza. There was no other reason.

Revival of Wilbur | dsmp recap

the revival of wilbur & death of ghostbur.

A detailed recap of the events of Tommy’s stream on 04/29. 

The stream starts off with Tommy, Ranboo, Tubbo and Ghostbur in the tower beside the prison. Tubbo gives himthe Wither Skulls that he gathered the other day, and Ranboo gives him the potions of invisibility and fire resistance.

There is a change of plans: Ghostbur will go into the prison with Sam and Friend to visit Dream. Tommy will follow closely behind, invisible, and sneak in. He will kill Dream then.  Ghostbur doesn’t really understand the plan-- He does not know that Dream only has one  canon life left and thinks that they are just “slapping him on the wrist.”

As they cross the bridge and are right beside Dream (but the gate is still up), Tommy pulls out his axe. He goes to kill Dream, but Sam notices that someone invisible is there. Sam, nearly murdering him, brings Tommy back on the bridge, leaving Ghostbur trapped on the other side. Sam can’t bring the bridge back.

Dream says that if Sam does not let him free, he will revive Wilbur with the book. Ghostbur cries out, saying that Tommy told him that he would be okay. He does not want to die (Tommy: “It’s okay, Ghostbur. Count to ten. Think of the blue.”)

Dream logs off and comes back with the revive book. As the lava pours down from the ceiling, Dream is seen killing Ghostbur, bringing Wilbur back to life. 

Sam is angry at Tommy, saying that he should have killed him the second he saw him on the bridge. Tommy does not think Sam fully understands the gravity of the situation, with Wilbur being brought back to life.

Ranboo and Tubbo are waiting outside of the prison. They are stunned to hear that Ghostbur is dead and that Wilbur is back. Together, they travel back to the area where they had tried to revive Wilbur. 

Wilbur, alive, is waiting for them. (“Oh, hello again. Is this real?”)

Wilbur is confused and aggressive at first. He refuses to take the blue that Tommy gives him, calling it stupid, and does not care about Friend (“Who is this-- Who the fuck is Friend?”). 

He looks across the destroyed L’Manburg, thinking that this was the L’Manburg that he destroyed, seemingly proud of the number that was done on the country. Otherwise, he is thrilled to be alive again, having spent 13 ½ years in darkness. He watches the sunrise (”This is mine. This is my sunrise.”

Wilbur explains that everyone has their own personal limbo. His was a train platform. Everywhere he went, there was concrete and no matter how much he screamed and clawed at the walls, no one would come to help him. Until Tommy arrived, and soon left as a train approached and took his away. Moments before he was brought back to life, another train approached. There were two people on that train-- Ghostbur, his face steaming with tears, and Dream, who was conducting the Dream. 

He considers Dream to be his hero.

After experiencing death, he no longer wants to die. There are so many things that he wants to do. 

He slowly starts to get Ghostbur’s memories back, faintly remembering the sewers.

DSMP Lore Summary - Jan. 3 2021

no new lore, in case anyone got excited with this one! just the start of a bunch of older recaps

-while decorating for the festival, ranboo notices that his memory book is missing from his inventory -keeps acting semi normal, checking every inventory in his house while talking to chat -leaves talking about missing something, runs over to his mines and checks the chests there (does not find it) -goes back to his house, checks Everywhere again. finds a separate wrong book -leaves again to check the surrounding area

-pauses music, fully stops answering chat messages and donos -back to his house one more time -”i didn’t put it away.... why can’t i remember? -makes a list of places he’s recently been to check them all -increasingly panicked as time goes on -insists it HAS to be somewhere nearby and he’s not irresponsible enough to put it in a random chest -heads over to beeg hole -”i have to make sure that no one else sees it. because if someone sees it then.... i’m screwed.” -insists no one else could have found it and he’d never take it out, it must be in the hole -reassures himself that it will be alright and it is fine (repeatedly) -says he has “no moral backbone any of the time” and that’s why he has to keep people away from the book

-arrives at the hole, it’s not in those chests -going back home, getting more and more sure someone took it but completely in denial -INSISTS he is fine -he’s thinking of the worst scenarios possible now, actively catastrophizing while recapping everything in the memory book -gets home, checks EVERY SLOT in his chests -finds it in a chest he didn’t move it in -wonders how the book could possibly have moved -stream immediately ends
