A whisper woven through the velvet night,

A rake, they say, whose charm can turn the tide,

Whose laughter burns where hidden longings hide.

In courts of stone and gardens kissed by dew,

He weaves through shadows, making hearts anew,

A glance—a spark, an easy, careless grace,

He leaves behind the scent of wild embrace.

Not bound by honor, nor by chains of pride,

He takes what pleases him, and leaves aside

The vows and promises that others chase,

His soul untamed, his heart a fickle place.
