Birthday Walkies

As my amazing Beloved, @brandileigh2003, knows, people/faces are not my strong suit. So to add on to her pic and Remus' birthday story, here is a new art piece. Birthday Walkies.

HC's for this Au - Teddy is a werewolf, but he is also a metamorhagus and so he saw his wolf form and thought nope, doesnt look like the wolf in my animal book and somehow changed himself into an actual blue-tinted wolf club, but of course his eyes are the same shade of Remus' in any form.

Harry got jealous that the rest of his family could transform and in the middle of a tantrum he just *poof* transformed into a golden retirever puppy (the scar stays).

Both Remus and Teddy are on Wolfsbane so everyone is safe, though they live in rural Cananda with a wood practically in their back garden anyway.

And don't ask me how there's a full moon in the middle of the day, but there is and it is on Remus' bday, which sucks for him!

Across the table, eyes locked, Harry and Teddy glared at each other. Their elbows were glued to the table, hand wrapped around the other’s.

They both looked like their veins were on the verge of bursting.

“What are you doing?” Sirius asked.

Teddy growled, “Arm.”

“Wrestling,” Harry ground out.

“Are you supposed to just… stay in the same position for ten minutes?” Sirius gestured.

They both pulled back, shaking their heads.

“No, I’ll show you what’s supposed to happen,” Harry signalled for Sirius to come over.

Teddy dramatically got up, smirking as he so thoughtfully gave up his seat on the floor for Sirius.

Harry was also smirking. Sirius was getting worried.

“Alright, put your elbow here,” Harry slapped the table.

Sirius gingerly did so, hand suddenly gripped in Harry’s. “Okay,” Harry nodded. “My aim is to push your arm to the table like so,” he demonstrated.

“Ow!” Sirius yelped, arm suddenly twisted onto the table.

“Your aim,” Teddy patted his father’s shoulder, “Is to push Harry’s arm to the opposite side, like he did to you.” He clapped Sirius’s back, whispering, “Good luck. He’s actually strong, but don’t tell him I said that.”

“I heard that,” Harry grinned, and Teddy groaned. But then Harry smiled, “Don’t worry, I think you’re pretty strong too.”

Sirius looked fondly between his two sons.

Then war began.

“Three, two, one!” Teddy yelled. “Go!”

Harry was strong. Sirius’s arm immediately collapsed flat on the table.

“What?!” Sirius gaped. “How did you do that?!”

Harry and Teddy flexed their fingers. “Been training with Moony,” Harry said.

“Werewolf strength,” Teddy clarified.

Rising to his feet, Sirius stomped into the kitchen. “You’ve been teaching them strength but not me?!”

“Uh,” Remus stuttered. He shrugged, “I was just trying to control them. They kept running around and full-on tackling each other, so I told them to sit still and wrestle.”

“Why didn’t you ever use arm wrestling to control James and I?! Think of the muscles I could have right now!”

“Well… I didn’t need violence to control you. I could just kiss you,” Remus smiled reminiscently.

Sirius gasped, “You were using our love as a method of control?!” He shook his head, marching up to Remus, brandishing a finger in his face. “That’s it. I will train until I destroy you.”

Remus snorted, then pecked Sirius’s lips. Sirius blinked dazedly, completely forgetting the contents of his brain.

Teddy Lupin was raised by his grandmother, Andromeda TONKS. The woman who lost her husband, daughter and son-in-law in less than six months. Teddy was all she had left and people are here wanting to hand him off to a traumatised 17 year old.

You know what I hate the most? It's people saying that Harry should have named Ablus Severus, Remus. And this is not even because I love Dumbledore and Snape (or at least not mainly) but because Harry already has a son called Remus and everyone saying this usually completely forgets about him. His name is EDWARD REMUS LUPIN and just because he is “only” Harry's godson doesn't mean he doesn't love him as much as his 3 biological children. On the contrary, Harry Potter the boy whose main parental figures were the parents of his best friend, his godfather, and his teachers knows this better than anyone. He knows he already has a son named after Remus.

wolfstar raising Teddy but then Remus DIES so it's Sirius raising Teddy but he feels really insecure about it because Remus was Teddy's biological father, and not him. How could Teddy stand being raised by someone who's not his real father?

Sirius feels guilty because he thinks it would have been better if he died rather than Remus because then Teddy would have the father he was supposed to instead of being stuck there with him

I was bored at Uni, so I drew this out of Harry’s perspective.

They are on a trip, in a garden.

Sirius and Regulus are in their Animagus form, James aka Dad is the sun because Regulus always calls him the sun.

And yes, Remus uses a cane.

First Song

Sirius woke up with a jolt; his legs kicking out and his heart thumping. It was dark and the room was warm, the heady smell of sleep in the air.

He lay there for a moment, wondering what had woken him - the house was quiet. But then he heard it, muted through the darkness, a soft, sweet sound that Sirius had rarely heard.

The space next to him was empty and he rolled over further, breathing in Remus’ scent to find the crib was empty too. Getting out of bed seemed easy then, sliding his feet into slippers and pulling on a threadbare sweater. The landing was dark too but there was light spilling up the stairs and Sirius padded downward feeling as though his heart may burst.

Remus was in the kitchen, their son tucked safely in one arm and he was singing softly. A song Sirius hadn’t heard for years.

‘Hi,’ Remus looked up with a beautiful smile as he saw Sirius standing in the doorway. ‘We couldn’t sleep. Did I wake you?’

Sirius shook his head, it wasn’t a lie, he was meant to wake up to this moment. ‘I haven’t heard that song in years.’ He made his way over and Remus put the sleeping baby into his arms.

‘It’s the song that was playing when-‘

‘You kissed me for the first time.’ Sirius finished for him. ‘I know.’ He looked down at his son; pale skin, auburn hair. Just perfect. ‘God I love you.’

Remus caught his chin with two fingers. ‘More than all the stars in the sky, my love.’ And he kissed him again.

Sirius and Remus raising Teddy

Sirius was the one to dye Teddy’s hair blue

Teddy is 100% non binary and they went to Remus about it first.

Teddy was born from a surrogate, and Remus is technically the bio father but they never talk about it. Both of them are equally Teddy’s dad. No matter genetics

Sirius teaches Teddy piano and French

Remus teaches Teddy Welsh and always reads with them in their library

Teddy sometimes feels a little jealous of Harry because in their mind, Loud Boisterous and Athletic Harry Potter was Sirius’s favorite. They had more in common and hung out one on one a lot. Teddy on the other hand is quiet, calm, and more of a inside activity person.

This leads to Teddy having more of a preference for Remus which obviously upsets Sirius, but he tries not to think on it too much.

Sirius tries everything he can think of to spend more time with Teddy, which leads to both of them discovering how much Teddy loves modifying the Bike and working on cars and other machines.

Because I can. Teddy is only a year younger than Harry, and has the BIGGEST crush on Ron. Sirius and Harry tease the fuck out of them for it.

Every time Teddy is called Theodore in post-canon fics something in me dies. Look, I love the name, but Teddy Remus Lupin was named after his grandfather Edward Tonks and in this house we respect that.

Summary: Remus is tired and ready to be home. It has been a long day, but it's also his birthday and his family is waiting for him.

And, as always an excerpt:

In fact, the only people who even knew where they were from England were Minerva and Poppy. The two women who had helped them fight all of their battles, from being a teenage werewolf to fighting Dumbledore for custody of Harry.  And what a fight it had been, Remus reminisced in the extra comfortable seats he was well aware Sirius had used magic on when he had bribed, bullied, and magic'd the municipal government to not only create and protect the bus to their small town, but also to the surrounding ones, knowing as he did how Remus wanted, no needing his independence but was often too tired and in too much pain to apparate or floo to his book shop.  Sirius couldn't take him. Not with a 9-year-old homeschooled Harry and their little Teddy. A magical, metamorphmagus, werewolf toddler. Remus adored their youngest son, but he wouldn't lie; Sirius and all of his energy were more than welcome when it came to dealing with Teddy, especially when Remus pushed himself a little too close to his limits in the name of his independence than he should.  Remus thought he was just lucky in general, smiling as he stopped at the town just before his own. Another 10 minutes or so, and he would be home, where copious amounts of chocolate and love would be waiting for him, considering it was his 30th birthday today.

So we all know the AU where Sirius and Remus raise Harry, but I have a new suggestion. What if, after Alice and Frank are tortured to the point of insanity and James and Lily are murdered, Sirius and Remus take both Harry and Neville in.

Imagine Harry and Neville being raised as brothers with a solid support network. Imagine both of them having childhoods free of neglect and abuse and expectations. Them being raised with stories of their parents and a household full of love and kindness. Them getting to stay up at night, hiding out under the blankets with a flashlight to giggle about nothing. Them stealing cookie dough and bits of food while Sirius and Remus cook, making a competition out of it. Them going off to Hogwarts together, being sorted together, and having sleepovers in the same fourposter.

Then imagine little Teddy Lupin being born, probably when they’re still relatively young, maybe seven or eight. Them getting so excited, getting in Sirius and Remus’ bed to poke Remus’ stomach and talk to their baby sibling (and sometimes poke Sirius’ stomach just because they can). Them taking it upon themselves to teach Teddy new words and then turning it into a challenge to see who can teach them more. Them rushing Sirius to get them home from Hogwarts quicker every break so they can say hi to their little sibling. Them regaling Teddy with tales of the castle (some of which are more made up than others just to fuck with them) together.

Imagine their family being Sirius, Remus, Neville, Harry, and Teddy, living together and being happy. They all get a happy ending. They get to be safe and surrounded by love. Just… imagine.
