i like to think of Ceaser and his reader being at least in college like maybe they met in high school and had a nonsexual bullying relationship but then in college, they started fucking. I know "jock" isn't as much of a stereotype for college kids but it makes me feel more comfy. The point still stands if they get pregnant at like 18-19.

I think he would be uncharacteristically serious. no teasing no bullying just like real talk. He would probably suggest an abortion, but ultimately it would be your choice. If you decided to keep the baby he'd support you financially the best he could, again being still a teenager, but he'd probably be really emotionally distant. he'd kind of resent you and the baby for shaking up his life so much and putting so much responsibility on him.

You'd have to rely on his parents mostly and they would ADORE you and their little grandbaby and teach you everything you need to know about raising werewolf pups as well as fully accept you into their little family even if Ceaser won't. I think he'd come around eventually but it would not happen sooner.

😂 Okay, he's not gonna run, because if you've gotten this far in a relationship with him that not only are you intimate, but you also think it's serious enough to consider spending the rest of your life with the man, then you two have been together for a verrrrrry long time. I don't really see AK Jay as the marrying type, though. He'd have to make a lot of progress with his healing because that's a lifetime commitment. Every other person in his life who was supposed to be there for him through thick and thin has abandoned him one way or another. Also, raised-Catholic boy takes those vows seriously. He'd have to give up the vigilante lifestyle, and pledge his life to you rather than Gotham. Then there's also the trainwreck that was his parents' marriage, which gives him even colder feet. He's not gonna dump you or anything for asking (have I mentioned his abandonment issues?? 😆), but he'll make his feelings on the matter clear, and desperately hope that you'll be okay with continuing what you two already have.

And if you surprise him with the news that he's got a kid on the way? Oh man, he's gonna be scared shitless. He’ll leave the pregnancy decisions up to you but he’ll be secretly hoping you'll terminate the pregnancy. He has no interest in being a dad. He’s been traumatized by terrible father figures and wouldn’t want a kid to go through what he went through. He’s convinced that he’ll repeat all of the mistakes of Willis and Bruce, even if the opposite is true. And then there’s the whole having his mind warped by over a year of torture when he was only 15/16 (still a kid himself). He thinks he’s too mentally unstable to take on such a massive responsibility.

If you decide to keep the baby though... well, it's gonna be tough for him. There's a chance you two may drift apart 😞 He'll financially support the child, of course. And maybe... once he's older and had even more time to heal... maybe if you still want him to be a part of the kid's life, he'll try to be the best dad to ever walk planet earth.

Riz's situation is just so different and so isolating from his friends. His friends financial situations vary but they're all doing okay (except for maybe Kristen? at least for college? but she might not even have interest?) Adaine is struggling, yes, but that seems mainly to be because she won't tell Jawbone she needs expensive school supplies. We see Adaine otherwise clothed, fed, and housed.

We see Riz clothed, fed, and housed too, but the very first scene we ever see him in is in his apartment where he doesn't have a room, just a quartered off section and food is scarce. Financial burden is something Riz has dealt with since he was a child and his mom plainly mentions its a huge struggle. We've seen Jawbone joke about some of his shitty life and use it to inspire others but Sklonda straight up has to pull the rug out from under Riz's feet and hit him with reality because she has no other choice. That's a different sense of financial burdenship and responsibility and it sucks.

I don't blame Sklonda at all and I think as a poor mom she's doing phenomenally raising Riz and poor people deserve to have families and lives to. It just sucks. Riz's situation is just so different and isolating, and then when he tries to put a positive spin on it and get his friends involved, they all sort of brush him off. He has Adaine in his corner but no one is dedicated to Riz's plan like he is, and Riz is likely in the worst position and just,,, that's not fair.

It's not the other bad kids fault, and that honestly makes it worse. It's no ones fault, it just is, and it just sucks and there's not much you can do about it. It's life. That's what really gets to me this season.

I haven't quite figured out the timeline for Moonlight Chicken – was Beam still alive when Li Ming came to live with Jim?

If he wasn't, it means that while Jim was trying to recover both emotionally and financially, he still agreed to take in his sister's kid and raise him alone, and that is a tough job for sure, but at least he knew what he was in for.

But if Beam was still alive... oof. That means Jim took on the responsibility for Li Ming while he was doing okay both in terms of relationship and money, and then had the rug pulled out from under him. And in the midst of all that grief and turmoil, he must have felt guilty that he couldn't live up to the image of a parental figure he'd set for himself, and wondering if Li Ming would be better off moving again, while at the same time refusing to let this kid get abandoned twice.

And either way, no one could have been prepared for the effect of the pandemic on the restaurant business. (In fact, the reason I started watching this show was a tumblr post that talked about how all the characters are implicitly affected by the pandemic – and indeed they are. Even when it's not mentioned out loud, it's so very visible in their life paths.)

Bradley, Bob, & Jake as Brothers

Just imagining the dynamic if these three because of the Dagger Squad and Mav and Ice began started to bond.

Bradley: An only child who was suddenly given 2 baby brothers.

Goose and Carol's only son, became a Mama's boy

After Goose died, the class of '86 helped chip in to raise him, meaning before they settled in with their own families he got the attention of so many uncles.

Mav of course took the most active role, basically being the father-figure to Bradley after Goose died. Bradley sees him more as a dad than Goose, that's why it hurt so much when Mav pulled his papers.

Then suddenly, the mission happened, they turn into a permanent squadron, and wow is Mav bringing Jake and Bob around more and more.

Hmmm, so Bob's former squadron giving him some trouble? No they're not.

Bradley: Hangman's the worst, selfish prick (Jake ate his leftovers). Some guy: Yeah, the guy's a fucking selfish assho- Bradley: What the fuck did you just say?

Bob: The youngest child given an older brother that actually pays attention to him and a younger brother that he needs to protect.

Big age difference between him and his siblings, he's the baby, was born when his siblings were already teenagers and young adults, focused on their own lives than him.

He was spoiled and loved by his family though, but they couldn't give him a lot of time and attention. His siblings were building their own lives, his parents were getting older, and he was an "easy kid". Bob was quiet, easy to please, easy to ignore.

When he said he wanted to join the Navy, his family was not supportive and doubted his ability. Deeply hurt him.

Then Bradley came, who would actually listen to him. Ruffle his hair and offer to hang out with him. They would play instruments together and stuff. Who defended him against his former squadron when they were making fun of him.

Then there was Jake who loved poking fun at him, but never in a mean way. Who would forget to eat when he was busy or having fun, making him have to shove fruit snacks in his mouth. Who would simultaneously teach and make fun of him when playing pool.

Bob: Come on, Rooster, not the hair (Bob rolled his eyes as Bradley ruffled his hair) Bradley: Awww, you're taking after Jakey, caring about your hair so much. Bob: Well, we actually want to look presentable (scrunches his nose at Bradley's Hawaiian shirt) Bradley: How rude.

Jake: The forcibly responsible, yet ignored middle-child, being given 2 older brothers who are protective of him, and finally gives him the chance to be free.

Jake is the middle child, have two older siblings and one younger sibling. His parents were neglectful, did not care enough.

He and his siblings used to be tight, but due to circumstances falls apart.

His older brother is a Navy SEAL, but suffers from PTSD, when he's on leave, he gets into trouble and drinks too much. He has to bail his brother out a couple of times.

His older sister began to be distant, he doesn't know where she is, she sends money and calls every now and then, but she started a new life. Whenever Jake asks for help, she refuses, claiming that Jake is strong and smart enough, that he can do it. (Jake simultaneously can't blame her and is resentful of her)

His younger sister needs financial support since she's just a teenager, she's in college right now and Jake is extremely proud of her. Just lonely as well. She's doing well for herself, Jake wants to protect her innocence. He acts more like her dad than their dad ever was.

Jake always has to be the rock, steady and strong. He's just tired.

He's a twenty-something, and he wants to be a twenty-something, careless and free. Fuck up and have fun every once in a while.

Then Bradley and Bob comes in.

He can't help but allow himself to play around with them, mess with them, tease them. They make him let his guard down, it's fun being around them, he's not responsible of them outside of being their teammate.

And they actually pay attention to him, and dote over him. He grumbles about them being overprotective or being too much of a mother hen, but he's sad whenever they hesitate to ruffle his hair, wondering if they were overstepping.

Maybe one day, he'll tell them about his family.

Jake (sinks 8-ball in): HAH! I won this game Bobert, pay up Bob (rolls his eyes as he pushes the cup of peanuts towards Jake): Eat up, you mean. Speaking of Beatrice Horseman being an abuser, I was completely baffled when I read someone applaud Beatrice for being by Henrietta’s side while Henrietta was in labour with Hollyhock, and calling it an example of women supporting women.

Are you kidding me?!!!

The only reason why Beatrice was with Henrietta while she gave birth, was so that Beatrice could remove Hollyhock from Henrietta the second she was born!

The show even frames Beatrice’s actions as despicable- the scene switches from the traumatic memory of Joseph Sugarman, Beatrice’s father, burning little-girl-Beatrice’s beloved baby doll while she screams and begs him to stop, to adult Beatrice taking the newborn Hollyhock away to be given up for adoption, and refusing to let Henrietta hold her own baby.

Beatrice has just done one of the most evil things a person can do to another, and some people think she was justified?!

Even if viewers somehow think Beatrice was doing the right thing here, the show clearly doesn’t want us to think so. Henrietta’s face is scratched out, meaning that Beatrice is so ashamed of what she did to Henrietta, that she can’t bear to think about her.

The writers also make it clear that Beatrice was motivated by selfish reasons:

Beatrice wants to live vicariously through Henrietta and make her do what Beatrice wishes she herself had done - if Beatrice had had an abortion, or placed Bojack for adoption, then Beatrice would never have married Butterscotch and be stuck in a life that she hated.

However, one of the themes of Bojack Horseman is that “you’re responsible for your own happiness”. Beatrice and Butterscotch could have gotten a divorce and been free of one another- Beatrice came from a wealthy family, so she wasn’t trapped financially with Butterscotch. Blaming Bojack for their misery was cruel and unjust.

Butterscotch was being irresponsible and selfish with Henrietta- he could have paid child support for Hollyhock and then Henrietta could have afforded childcare while she finished her studies and qualified as a nurse. Henrietta didn’t have to sacrifice her dreams for her baby. Beatrice and Butterscotch had the 1950s misogynistic mindset that a woman who slept with a married man was a fallen person who wasn’t fit to raise a baby, and so Henrietta “had to” give up her firstborn.

It’s a pity that the viewers couldn’t see Hollyhock and Henrietta’s reunion, since Bojack is the main character and we could only see plot points that involved him. I’m glad that mother and daughter finally found each other again - Beatrice stealing Hollyhock from Henrietta remains the most harrowing scene in the whole show for me.

*Stella is shown screaming at Stolas in front of Octavia in Loo Loo Land, so I don’t agree that Octavia was somehow completely oblivious to how much of an abuser Stella was and how miserable her parents were in the marriage.

In the same episode, Octavia has a line about when she was a kid and “[her] parents didn’t hate each other”, so Stella must have toned down her cruelty at the beginning. I just hope the writers don’t retcon that and victim-blame Octavia for not knowing how much abuse Stolas endured.

Phillip had felt something within his heart, like the light flap of a butterfly’s wings when he had seen you play with his nieces and nephews at a family gathering. Now, inside his heart was an overwhelming hurricane of feelings as he observed your gentle nature. He’d always imagined him and his future partner with kids, but he didn’t want this with just anybody.

It was a dream, a fantasy he indulged in and hoped to one day make it come true.

You let your head fall against the soft pillowcase; you were exhausted. Phillip’s family made you feel at home and you cherished them all, but his family was so numerous and loving that it could be overwhelming at times.

Sighing contently, you turned to Phillip, but he wasn’t lying on his side of the bed, instead, he was staring out the window at the darkening sky, his back turned to you.

“Phillip?” You called out to him.

He didn’t stir at first and, like falling out of a trance, he turned to you. A soft smile on his face as he lay in bed and wrapped his arms around your waist, closing the gap between you both. A warm feeling fluttered in your stomach as you felt his affection.

“You ever thought of having a little one of our own?”

The question strung you like a chord.

“A baby? From us?” The question was absurd, nevertheless, you hadn’t expected him to ask anytime soon.

He nods and a grin tugs at the corners of his lips, his mind making him excited at the mere thought of having living evidence of the fruit of your love.

“Yeah, a baby,” His mind had already started with several reasons to convince you. “Our relationship is stable, we are financially secure… I don’t see what’s stopping us.”

You bit your bottom lip nervously. It was easy for him to ask for children, no doubt he would provide all the support he could offer, but the one who would be affected the most would be you. It was difficult to admit that the idea of giving birth to a child was frightening.

“Well, a child is a lot of responsibility.” The unease in your voice is evident.

A deep chuckle comes from Phillip. “I’m aware of that. But, we have each other.” Tucking a strand of hair behind your ear he continued speaking. His voice softened, his breath brushing against the shell of your ear. “And don’t think I haven’t seen how caring you are with children. I can already imagine you nurturing our child.” No doubt Phillip had spent a lot of time thinking about this.

You drew in a deep breath.

“I understand, it’s overwhelming for you. But, I think you’re doubting yourself, we’re more than ready.” He said.

It was more than meaningless doubts and hesitance. To make such a significant decision as the existence of someone else’s entire existence was substantial.

At your silence, he raised his head to examine your face.

“Hey, is everything alright?”

You couldn’t repress your thoughts about it anymore when you felt how gentle he was being. He listened and after a moment of silence, he hummed low as he nodded.

“I want to know how you feel.”

“I just told you what I think-” He stopped you there. “No,” he said softly, taking your hands in his. “I want to know what you feel, you already told me your thoughts.”

You took a moment to acknowledge the sentiments buried beneath to override your reasonings.

A firmness was set in your eyes as you glanced into his with a new attitude.

It does not matter how a family comes to be; happiness that comes in any way or form is still considered a blessing.

So, when you held the little girl in your arms, the first thought that came into your and Phillip’s minds wasn’t that biologically she wasn’t yours. The most shining star was taken from the sky and had come to settle on the same stretch of land as you and Phillip to coexist briefly in one another’s world.

the weird way misogynistic men react to childfree women is so bizarre like a woman will say “I don’t like kids. I think they’re too much work. I don’t want them.” and some trad guy will call her a selfish bitch as though he wouldn’t pitch a fit and go into hysterics if his hypothetical baby mama asked him to clean up baby vomit and change diapers and stay up all hours of the night comforting a screaming child. as though he’d actually attend his kid’s school boring ass plays instead of “working late”. children are fundamentally a lot of work, it is taxing physically, emotionally and financially to raise a child. being responsible, rational and mature enough to admit you cannot do that is the exact opposite of selfish.

i love my job is what soonyoung would say if he was lying.

why he chose marketing as a career path... well, he doesn’t know himself. all he knows is that there’s two more minutes until he can go home, shower, eat, lie down and most importantly, see you, his wonderful wife.

usually, he’s not at the office this late, but his boss asked him if he could take a few extra hours for the team for a little pay rise for about a month.

at first he said no, i mean, why would he accept? he hated his job enough, extra hours added to the already long day of sitting behind a desk was torture, but then you reminded him about your future children.

before he was approached about the extra hours, you and soonyoung decided talk about children and stumbled upon the issue about finance.

its not like you were struggling to meet the rent or struggling to buy the groceries - you two pulled through quite well considering the current rate of inflation. but you both agreed that the money that you both currently had wasn’t enough to raise another human being. plus, soonyoung mentioned how he wanted to spoil his kids with cute little onesies (tiger ones) and baby shoes, but, he couldn’t spoil your kids responsibly if there was barely any money to spend.

so he reluctantly agreed and decided to work for 3 extra hours, for you and your future little ones.

another reason why he hated his job is that it was so far away from home. on his normal hours, when he got back from work you’d be awake doing whatever random things you decided to do. but ever since he took those extra hours, he often goes back home to a dimly lit apartment, seeing you asleep on the bed, gripping your phone while it plays a youtube video.

he doesn’t wake you up, and he never does. all he does is carefully slip your phone out of your hands, places it on your bedside table, has the quickest shower of his life, heats up whatever leftovers are in the fridge and quietly eats alone.

that's why he didn’t expect so see you running towards the door with your arms wide open when he tried enter as slowly and quietly as he could.

you yell his name excitedly and wrap your arms around him, nuzzling your head onto his chest. his eyes widen as he is still yet to process that his wife is hugging him, when she’s usually asleep. i mean, not that he’s complaining.

he is quick to engulf his wife who he missed into his arms and tightens his grip around you until he smells something familiar. you look up to see his rather confused face turn into a wide-eyed smile.

“is that… kimchi?” he says smiling looking down at you, as if he couldn’t smile more.

you nod your head quickly and correct him by adding the, “fried rice.” then you’re suddenly picked up off the ground and spun around by your sweaty and sticky husband.

he places you down before you begin to comment on his stench. “please shower before we eat though, you smell absolutely horrendous. you literally sit at a desk for hours… how can you even get this smelly?”

he shrugs in reply as he sneaks in a quick taste of the fresh kimchi fried rice that you made. as he scoops the rice into his mouth, he hears you yell at him, “soonyoung, shower now!”

‘she’ll be a great mother’ he smiles cheekily at the thought as you chase him around the kitchen island, spoon hanging out of his mouth.
