At long last, after much procrastination, I have decided to make an entire Wattpad story for Project Mainframe! Wahoo! Yippie! :D Drops plot bomb -~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ Everybody knows the story. Seven Red Suns sent 07 to deliver a golden pearl with instructions on how to circumvent the self destruction taboo. Then 07 came again, returning with a message ripped from their chest. Five Pebbles got the rot and the iterators withered away in the harsh and eternal dark winter.

But who was the first slugcat? Who found the golden pearl? Whose single decision shaped the entire world, and who discovered the triple affirmative? This is the story of 04, alternative name: The Scholar -~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~

It was another snowy day, clouds of empathy was feeding scruffy when suddenly a slugcat fell through the pipe and lands on the ground “Ah, hello little slugcat! Do you come to visit? Perhaps you need rest, there are plenty of shelters in my substructure, feel free to stay a while!” Coe explains.

Without so much as a word the slugcats eyes start flashing every color imaginable and a karma ten symbol appears behind him, before…*PING*!

Coe darted to look at the slugcat but what he sees…is scruffy…laying on the ground…lifeless…Coe is distraught, he knows he won’t come back this time…he glares at the slugcat”WHAT DID YOU DO TO SCRUFFY?!”

The Slugcat takes aim of the karma ten symbol at Coe, But he takes action and kills the slugcat, he’d be back tommorow so he goes on lockdown shutting down almost all function except for his communication arrays.

He sends out the following message:

“Triple affirmative! Hello, you know who I am but what’s more important is what you don’t know, scruffy has been ascended, the triple affirmative has found its way to our local group, I suggest everyone locks down until that…THING, leaves.”

And so for about. 300 cycles nothing happened, Coe never got over the loss of scruffy…sometimes still throwing his toys around pretending he would come back with them, once it finally ended the others all tried reaching out to him, exept for bitter void. He didn’t reply to a single one of them, until eventually passionate beyond lesser understanding reached out with a forced communication.

Pblu: “Empathy, you know I don’t like abusing my authority as senior but this is serious, we know you lost scruffy but it isn’t like you not to talk to us about your problems.”

Coe: “you wouldn’t understand…”

Pblu: “empathy, I have sent a purposed organism to you, he will arrive in approximately 10 cycles.”

Coe: “I know what your trying to do. You can’t replace him.”

Pblu: “I’m not trying to replace him, I’m trying to help you, you don’t need to forget scruffy but another friend may help you cope better.”

Coe: “…”

And so a few cycles later another slugcat arrived, not a typical purposed organism, it was an pink slugcat with a collar, slightly underweight but in its stomach it had a locket with a picture of Coe and Scruffy. Coe immediately started warming up to the slugcat, cleaning it up and even naming it puce. After a while puce and Coe got close,Coe even started letting her sleep in scruffy’s old den, feeding her, but something still felt…off. It would probably be fine, he’s just still getting over scruffy. He kept slowly warming up and getting to understand puce, she was much more energetic so he turned his chamber into a massive shelter and added a jungle gym and a rest area. But he still couldn’t shake that feeling…whatever, it will heal with time, he hung up a picture of scruffy and himself and started talking to the others again, he told Sol and Heavenly about the lingering feeling

Sol: “oh, I don’t think that will heal with time, maybe you just need to vent?”

Coe: “Nevermind, I’m gonna go.”

Heavenly: “wait-“

Coe: “bye.”

After a while Coe grabbed puce wrapped up in a blanket and cried, well, no tears but he felt like he was crying. Eventually he calmed down and felt a bit better, maybe he would just have to live with this, sometimes even gods feel fragile.

Since starting to draw fanart for rainworld, tumblr has been recommending lots of rainworld stuff, which is cool, except for when it tries to push drama onto my feed lol it almost feels like your friend’s parents arguing when you’re over at their house

Rain World Discourse Outta Nowhere:

It kind of annoys me when people just assume Artificer immediately went "I will obliterate every Scavenger alive" as soon as her pups were killed. I even saw someone say something about how Arti was bad for targeting all scavengers as revenge and not specifically the ones that did it. Like... if Artificer did exactly that and killed only the scavengers directly responsible for her pups' death, she would've made enemies of the whole tribe, and then after the inevitable result of more scavengers getting killed while attacking her they'd tell all their friends, and after a few cycles of back and forth escalation you'd end up with the exact same situation of Arti being on the 'Kill On Sight' list of every scavenger tribe in the general Five Pebbles Sphere Of Influence. There is no evidence that this is not how it happened in canon.

This is not "local scug wakes up and chooses genocide," it's "Highly aggressive and territorial animals' survival strategy of being more trigger happy than American cops bites them in the ass when they meet an animal with exactly the same attitude towards threats as them and the firepower to back it up."

Thoughts on the rainworld fandom so far and also what do you think of artificer x scav king?

The fandom has been amazing to me! I've never been in a fandom so diverse and accepting as Rain World. I've never been so overwhelmed by the creativity of a fandom before. It's just baffling to me. It's something I've never experienced before, so I accept it with open arms.

I'm looking forward to contributing more to the fandom anytime I'm not busy with college. Which has been a hassle the past few weeks. So I'm sorry for the lack of content in my other blog @rw-repurposed but I hope I can go back to making content for it again! Mainly comics- because I see people liking those!

As for the ship- uhhhh.... no comments lmao. People ship what they wanna ship as long as it's not problematic. :)

I prefer Fishstick for a ship, so ye.

I feel like how you analyze Rainworld (the ancients society in particular) heavily depends on well. . . Your views of suicide to be honest. How tired you are of life. How you feel about the horrors of being immortal.

I’ve found most people come to wildly different conclusions based on how those concepts seem to effect them in particular.

Are the ancients stupid creatures chasing the one thing they can’t have just because they don’t yet have it? Are they a logical and reasonable society tortured by a constant state of dying and returning to life? Was it cruel to deny iterators their own means of escaping the cycle? Or are some iterators just as ignorant of life’s beauty as their creators.

I suppose we’re sitting here debating the same things iterators did after the mass ascension. I have my own answers to those questions but what I’ve learned via many Reddit posts and video essays is that my answers are not everyone’s gut reaction. It keeps our debate lively I suppose
