WIP Wednesday

I was torn on what to share. I've been wanting to share some fic bits I've worked on recently, but this is what I'm actually working on at the moment.

In @lil-grem-draws and I's Helliam AU, Hellendil and Will's relationship became a little more serious over the holiday break with meeting parents and other firsts. We RPed a flirty, but also sweet moment between them and I wanted to work on something from that. Will is just too cute and Hellendil would protect him with his life.

Still working on putting together the rest of the scene and then lighting, but figured I could share what I have now.

Interview with Raflesia

Reflesia and Dema talk Italian Dragon Age (in brief: everyone petition Bioware for Italian voiceover immediately), favorite fanworks, and Cullistair <3

Dema: As an Italian artist and DA fan, what were the games like for you? Are they subtitled or dubbed? Do you find much fanwork in Italian?

Raflesia: The games are subtitled, it would have been so beautiful if they had been dubbed. Unfortunately, there are very few fanworks in Italian. I have only read two fanfictions and that's it. We Italians, we find ourselves communicating rarely in our language, otherwise we use English.

Dema: I would download a dubbed Italian DA:I immediately. Give me Solas in Italian or give me death. When did you start getting involved in this fandom?

Raflesia: In 2016 I joined Tumblr after playing DA:I, because I wanted to see fanart and read fanfiction, but I was a silent user, I was too shy to communicate.  The real start was 2020 when I started drawing again.

Dema: What was the subject of the first DA piece you did?

Raflesia: My first work was for a fic by Aurlana. She writes a lot of Cullistair fic and I accepted even if at the time I didn't feel ready, but she encouraged me a lot and from there I never stopped drawing. The work was a kiss between Cullen and Alistair.

Dema: Ah, so lovely! Have you been drawing all your life? How did you learn?

Raflesia: As a girl I designed a lot because it has always been my passion. I did not attend an art school, I am self -taught, I studied as a medical laboratory technician, but the love for drawing never left me, even if for several years I did not take a pencil in my hand. Life sometimes takes you elsewhere. But thanks to Aurlana and thanks to Covid I started again and now I have no intention to stop.

Dema: Are you primarily a digital artist or do you use traditional media? 

Raflesia: Before I had only drawn in pencil, then my husband gave me a Wacom One and I discovered digital art, which I liked very much. In fact now I only draw like this, and I use a Cintiq.

Dema: Are there any artists who inspire you?

Raflesia: Yes, looking at their works, I feel motivated to improve. The artists are Starsandskies (Lùa), Elenachatnoir and Kemvee.

Dema: What about their art appeals to you?

Raflesia: Kemvee, like me, loves Cullen, and he has a difficult face to draw, so I was attracted to her drawings to learn. While for the other two artists they are very good in the coloring and positions of the body.

Dema: What is your process like, for this Big Bang art piece? Are you sketching a lot first, collecting inspiration images, writing, something else?

Raflesia: For my piece of art for the Big Bang I looked for a reference that would help me realize what I imagined doing, and immediately I designed a sketch, then I will go to the Lineart and finally to the coloring.

Dema: Are you feeling excited for your idea?

Raflesia: Yes, I love to draw couples in a romantic attitude.

Dema: What is your favorite Dragon Age pairing?

Raflesia: I love the Cullen/Alistair couple and the fault is all Aurlana who made me love them with her writings. I love Cullen very much and I love him with my inquisitor too.

Dema: Thank you for taking the time to talk with me today, Raflesia! Especially with the time difference. It's been lovely and I hope you have a good night!

Feels like it has been forever since I did a WIP Wednesday, but I am at last in between secret exchange projects and can share something!

I am currently re-writing chapter 8 of Under Her Mask from Solona's perspective. I was feeling quite blocked with it, so I've decided to shake up the POV in the hope it'll help me make progress.

Also, it permits me to write some very self-indulgent thirsting 🤣

Cullen’s shoulder blade twitches as Solona gently sweeps her fingers over it. He turns his face toward her, but continues to doze as he nuzzles his cheek against the pillow. Solona’s mouth twists in frustration — always an early riser, she has lain awake for some time, quietly fidgeting beside him.

She supposes that she could have taken the opportunity to get a head start on her day, to slink away under the cover of dark. To let him wake alone feels too cold though, and besides, she has no great desire to hurry from his side.

Solona runs her fingers down his spine now, resisting the urge to increase the pressure of her touch. She feels a swell guilt; it has no doubt been a long, exhausting week for Cullen and the least she can do is let him have his well-earned rest.

Her body seems inclined to disagree however, growing hot with want as she admires his sculpted shoulders and she cheekily draws the covers down to reveal his lower back.

This is the start of a scene from Sarovanya's story. Actually dreamed the scene some time ago, but it's still vivid in my mind and I've wanted to get it out on paper/render for a long time. I am so out of practice drawing though and really want to get back into regularly sketching again. Hopefully this will be the start.

“Ah ... Fenris.”

A voice, dark and sinister as the deepest shivers of the Fade itself. Abyssal like the darkness on the flaming pool’s surface. Rolling as if thundering down the deepest mountain, gyrating the steepest ridges. A voice, crawling forth as though every darkness is born from it.

Between the burning black pools it echoes around, terror billowing inside it.

It resonates not from one clear direction but throbs in the airless emptiness around, reverberating deep as a cavernous throat, folded in cruel and soft folds. No breath it draws. Yet, within the voice rises a torrent of exhaling darkness, a hurricane of pitchest night.

Fenris’ nails dig into seasoned fabric, chafe against the weathered leather and scratched metal, convulsing with the rhythm of his heaving collarbones. His lips are parting from the sheer loudness of breaths in his chest.

Pressing the unmoving shape against his body, gradually Fenris raises his panting eyes.

In the gloominess, a blackest wave cascading, the rolling voice savors each syllable as darkest gulps of dark-red wine:

“Welcome.”

Slowly Fenris, sunken amidst his legs, on his knees, raises his bruise-stained eyes, the dirty-white of his flying hair whipping and clinging to his torn-bloodied lips.

Up, up, in the sightless darkness something appears to move in the terror-blackened sky although Fenris cannot see a thing, merely sense the obscure blindness’s approaching shift. Tighter he pulls the inert human shape against his stomach as Fenris keeps staring up into the restless murkiness.

Then, the fathomless voice curls into a reverberating laughter that vibrates in the black-baying pools of flaming water.

“Why,” the voice pulsates from every direction at once, left and right, up and down, resonating from Fenris’ rattling bones, forging and binding back on itself, “perhaps I should feel honored. There was rarely a man who ever fed me as much as you did.”

A relishing sound, a delicious touch of sweetest bite.

“Welcome, Fenris.”

The depth inside the voice coils into a ripe smile. “Now … where shall we begin?”

Karaz wraps her in strong, burly arms and caresses her temple. Whoever was tying the knots finishes what they’ve started, drawing her wrists tight behind her back in a simple, snug harness. She struggles against it, but only for a moment as Karaz settles her into his lap, an even thicker cock rubbing against her swollen folds. 

“Ever had a dwarf?” he asks quietly. She shakes her head no and he laughs even more richly. “Oh you’re in for a treat, sweetheart. Let me hear you take it. Don’t hold back.” 

She’s not sure she could if she tried. Her head tips back, shouting to the rafters as he moves her like she’s no more than a doll. Her nails curl into her palms as he huffs, clearly amused by how tight her body is, how she stretches to accept his terrifying girth. 

“That’s a girl,” he murmurs. “Halfway in.” 

She sobs, her head falling into his shoulder as he lifts her up, only to let her slowly slide back down. At the same time she feels Yax’s cool, precise fingers sliding between her ass to circle her hole. 

“I intend to take you in all of them,” he promises darkly in her ear, “but this will do to start.”

Midnight Rendezvous

Cullen leaned against the doorway to their rooftop terrace appreciating the way Alistair moved to the softly playing music. He was transfixed. Not by the romantic setting Alistair painstakingly set up for them, but by the seductive sway of Alistair’s hips and the way the music seemed to come from Alistair’s body itself.

He was absolutely gorgeous!

Cullen cleared his throat, startling Alistair out of his dance. “You invited me to a romantic midnight rendezvous. I didn’t realize I was getting a show too.”

Alistair slid into his arms and kissed him deeply. “You’ll get that… and so much more.”
