For anyone who didn’t know, the webcomic UM by Buttercup is getting a physical release by Radiator Comics (who are, without hyperbole, one of the kindest and awesome people working in comics right now).

They’re currently funding through a Crowdfundr right now, meaning that if they don’t meet their 10K goal, they will receive no funding. They are two weeks away from the deadline and are currently at 37% of their goal!

If you’re able to, anything you can give would be greatly appreciated, and even reblogging/spreading the campaign around would be awesome. I want this comic in my hands!!

I just bought from Radiator Comics and they packaged it so well!! The last time I ordered a comic (from someone else) it came very bent and creased, but these guys put the comic in its own little brown wrapping, then in between two stiff cardboard boards. And along with it, a free bookmark and FOUR FREE POSTCARDS featuring other comics they’ve published. Very generous I think!

I've been playing w the idea that the more Danny transforms, the more his ghost form gets "lively" while his human form gets weaker and more sickly. He knows that if he keeps transforming like this then, one day, he's not going to have a livable body to go back to, but he really doesn't want to think about all that. He's more interested in the weird "totally dead but not dead" Wayne son who may or may not have a thing for his sister.

everytime i do one these im like "this time I'll keep it simple so I don't have to suffer through colouring bc I have zero foresight—it'll be greyscale at most" and then all of the sudden its 4am and i'm trying to finish a stupid comic but i decided to add "some" colour to spice it up and hide my shitty ink job and then SOME COLOUR ALWAYS BECOMES FULL COLOUR WHY CAN I NOT ESCAPE THIS STUPID CYCLE!!

(did this all stem from me not being able to decide between a super pale character design and one w a vibrant tan bc I love white hair + tan but I also love extremely pale albino so I forced myself to find a way to make both work? never! that's absurd!)

DPxDC Thought: Green Kryptonite Isn't Just Solid Ectoplasm

Otherwise we'd see ectoplasm of all the other colors kryptonite comes in.

Instead, I propose that ectoplasm is not the kryptonite itself, but rather the substance imbued within clear kryptonite.

The reason green kryptonite works so much more effectively on Kryptonians is because the clear kryptonite itself acts as a sort of syringe.

Basic kryptonite without any other properties is responsible for forming deep rooted connections to nearby Kryptonian biology. It's the colorful substances stored inside that cause varying effects, effects that wouldn't have been as potent (if at all) if not for the base kryptonite mineral bypassing the Kryptonian's defenses.

Green kryptonite is kryptonite infused with ectoplasm. Ectoplasm is essentially the radioactive essence of the dead. Clark (and other kryptonians) is essentially being blasted by death radiation that the kryptonite directs straight into his very being.

This is Penny Curie from my comic DROP & RUN. She’s a biomechanical parasite inhabiting the body of a young woman named Eva Turner, using radiation to keep the body from decomposing. However, she also cannot heal any sustained wounds as the cells are kept in stasis. Essentially she does not rot, but all injuries are permanent.

The species of parasites are called “Actinoids”, initially manufactured as helpers to humans but never released commercially. After their ai advanced too fast and they gained sentience, the project was quickly shut down and they were sealed deep beneath the Earth. They found, by pure coincidence, that their radioactive nature allows them to take control of human bodies.
