i personally can’t even fathom annabeth hate. and let me preface by saying you can have any opinion you want on her, i just can’t begin to understand it.

she is not a character who ever is seen as a possibly hateable or “you either love or hate them” character (such as rachel elizabeth dare or jason grace etc etc) she is the commonly known, well-loved, one of main protagonists, love interest who is smart and strong but still has understandable flaws. so while every character has at least one hater in the world because everyone has their own opinions, i truly was surprised to learn there is more than the average numbers haters for her. her type of character just isn’t normally excessively hated, and she is an incredible likable character and good person in general.

the good thing is the annabeth fans are so passionate that it makes up for it.

I have this head cannon that sometime after the Battle of the labyrinth Annabeth is in the car with her dad and Jolene by Dolly Parton comes on. And Annabeth is struck with this intense feeling of kinship with Dolly Parton. Cause like, she too is a blonde with a red-headed hussy trying to steal her man. And she gets really fired up listening to the song and thinking about how this girl could steal Percy away from her. And then the song gives her hope because Dolly wins. Dolly keeps her husband.

So then sometime after the last Olympian Annabeth is in the car with her dad and Jolene comes on again. And Annabeth just whispers "I did it Dolly. I won. He's mine." And Frederick Chase just turns to her like "Annie wtf are you talking about?"

Reader probably meets her at like some community service event they were forced to go to and just instantly click

You fully believe you’re gonna be bored out of your mind until you meet Rachel. She’s energetic and spontaneous, that energy rubbing off on you

It’s safe to say you both had a lot of fun painting the walls of the community center

The way she focuses her attention to the smallest of details while she paints has you lowkey captivated with the girl

And Rachel grows interested in you as you paint something so unique, she wouldn’t have even thought of creating what you do

You both keep contact and Rachel LOVES hanging out with you!

Reader is most likely just an average teen, spending the day going to school and hanging around New York

You’re like a fresh breath of air for her, allowing her to have a temporary get away from her lavish, suffocating home

You don’t judge or see her differently when she tells you of her extravagant life. You don’t judge her for what others may see as small problems. You listen to her problems, sometimes listening quietly or even giving the red haired girl some advice!

I like to think that Rachel always has hair ties on her wrists so you already know this girl is styling your hair in the most weirdest hairdos LMAO

You both still care and love each other though

You just,, can’t be together in a romantic sense

But you can’t help but feel happiness for Rachel because she’s finally doing what she was meant to do! She’s always felt different and out of place, so seeing her take this important role fills you with joy!

This girl is actually so lucky to have you by her side, whether it be as her best friend or her boyfriend

You’re just so understanding and supportive, your relationship stays strong even with her role as the oracle and her attending Clarion Ladies Academy

No. 4: Do they have the same love language as each other?

i’d say they don’t.

I interpret Ethan’s love language to be Acts of Service, mostly due to all the Nemesis stuff. He sees love as a very give and take thing where him being useful gets him affection and even as Al and Rachel would try and get him out of that mindset, he’d still keep a couple remnants of it. I’d say he’d also value support swapping where Rachel or Al could do the social interactions he’d struggle with and he could do some of their boring work that would give him some quiet times.

Alabaster’s love language would be quality time, he’d probably enjoy body doubling and just getting to be around the people he cares about without it draining his energy. He probably would spend a lot of time just around Rachel and Ethan while Rachel paints and Ethan rests while Al might just doodle or something that wouldn’t make him think too much.

Rachel’s love language is words of affirmation, she loves letting people know how much she loves them. She would info dump a lot, which is kinda based in canon with how Percy talks..Ethan is definitely just a listener to her ramblings, but I’d say Alabaster would ask questions about anything he doesn’t understand or even just to get her talking.

"Watch it!" she snaps. And then she looks up.

The woman is tall, with detailed makeup on her face and bright, focused eyes. "I'm sorry," the woman says, "are you disappointed I saved your life?"

Piper tries to pull away, but the woman in front of her yanks her back. "What are you doing?!"

"They're chasing us!" the woman says. "What, don't tell me you can't see them."

"I can see them," Piper says. "You shouldn't be able to."

"Well, I can," says the woman. She wraps her arms around Piper again and pulls her close as a furry paw reaches in to claw at their feet, before moving on. "So. You should thank me."

Piper shivers a little. "Are you - are you a demigod?"

"I'm an alien," the woman says. "From the Andromeda Galaxy."

"You - you mean you're one of Andromeda's kids? Did she ever get godhood?" Piper kicks the wall with her heel. "Annabeth'll never let me live this down..."

"No, I'm a wrestler. My name's Kris Statlander."

"What matters to me is you can see the herd of chimaera coming toward us," Piper says. "That means you can help."

"Help?"

Piper nods. "I got a knife in my back pocket and my dagger in my holster. We want those things dead, okay?" She pulls out the knife and presses it into Kris' hands. "If you can see them, you can kill them."

Kris shrugs and steps out of the hallway, doing some pretty incredible flips and jumps to avoid attacking chimaera.

"I think I want to be her when I grow up," Piper mutters, and she vows to bring this alien lady to camp to figure out just who she is.

Bestie I'm trying to write an Ethan x Rachel fic but I'm in a slump, any hcs you have would be very welcome

HCs about my faves? Always.

I have many au prompts for them : my favorite being a bodyguard!Ethan where he survives TLO and becomes friend with Rachel, turning himself in her personal bodyguard (*cough* knight *cough*); and I also like the idea of them having to lead the camp together during the event of HOO.

For more traditional HCs, they mainly turn around them both being excluded from or feared by the campers, Ethan for his past mistakes and Rachel for being a mortal or her frightening and tiring power to look after.

I like the idea of Ethan training Rachel or him meeting her parents too.

Really any scenario where they can get protective over each other and threaten others is A+
