While the merge would’ve happened no matter what BUT Ras and Beatrix triggered it early

Land of the Lost tells us what’s going on with the Departed Realm. It could’ve shown up on the map but once you’re in you can’t leave it creates a fog

Lloyd could’ve ended up in the land of the lost as a kid

I have decided that Spitz is actually Skales Junior but he got separate from his family during one of the events in Ninjago and they all thought he died and he lost all his memories

Fritz is a formling and judging by his hat he has a bird form. I’m hc that he got lost and stuck in the land of lost things during Zane’s reign and by the time anyone was able to remember him it was too late

Geo, is so obviously is love with Cole but I’m sorry I ship Cole and Vania and I won’t be swayed maybe they can be poly but I feel like a lot of Geo’s affection for Cole may come from him being the Son of Lilly and so he feels like he is the only one who can truly accept him

The Merge had to have messed with people’s memories because Lloyd keeps being treated like this perfect angel and no one wants to mention how much of a menace he was a child and I think Sora and Arin would greatly benefit from learning that (and not just in haha he was a menace and he’s getting payback from them. I really think it will help them in their learning)

Cole is most definitely going to be the one to find Jay

The administration is a nightmare but also far too real but maybe that’s just because I live in the US (cries in victim of capitalism)

The Administrator has to be either PIXAL or Garmadon but a fun twist would be Mindroid or Borg

Misako realistically would be dead by this point the youngest she could be before the Merge was mid 70s (I refuse to believe she and Garmadon got married before she was 20 because I’m so tired of cartoon woman being questionably young. I don’t care if that means she was late 40 early 50s when she had Lloyd it’s possible and actually not uncommon) BUT this is Ninjago so she’s probably alive and researching stuff

Also did anyone notice that the temple grave place Nya and Sora went to had a pillar that matched one in the Monastery and they show it immediately after in almost the same place I am really hopeful that’s important

PIXAL better be living her best life building stuff for fun and profit and they only thing missing is Zane and she just really misses him but otherwise everything is perfect for her and she won’t have to leave that but instead just move it to the monastery or the crossroads

The Geckle chancellor knew it was Zane he just didn’t recognize him at first and was embarrassed about it so he tried to cover it up by saying not even Zane himself could live up to Zane

The thing about Dragons Rising leaks as opposed to previous seasons is that whereas more information and context helped the leaks make sense, that is not the same for DR. Like we were thinking there was time travel and that Sora was some racer and that Arin was just a kid they find and that maybe there were dinosaurs because one guy was named Rapton, and the Samurai helmets looked weird in the one set image...

now we're getting a shadow dojo and some temple with a giant rock dragon spewing water from its mouth and the villains are likely thew chima wolves and lets not forget a new em named cinder and also jordana joins ras and theres some mystery hooded figure and we see fucking wu and garmadon again and apparently these are ONLY the january and march leaks, we still dont know what the fuck summer looks like.

garmadon moved to the sky kingdom to train under chen a long time ago, but later left and was cursed by clouse to slowly lose his sandwing traits and turn evil. harumi heard of these stories and left to go find garmadon bc she believes he can overthrow chen and make her queen

morro and harumi are more like antiheroes than villains

there’s like a ton more lore and i honestly have the full thing fleshed out so please ask me questions if you’re interested and i’ll try and make some art for it!!!!!

26. What [Master Fung] would do if stuck in an elevator with [Chase Young]

(in canon or in your Heylin Omi verse, whichever works)

Pfffff. This is such an awkward scenario but given some of the Shen Gong Wu in the show I wouldn’t put it past them to accidentally get trapped in a box together.

Either way I think Master Fung would very studiously try to avoid talking to Chase In the main verse. he would probably be on high alert and would just attempt to meditate to pass the time. Chase (in the main verse) I can imagine switching between completely ignoring Fung and criticizing his teaching methods. I don’t think it would deteriorate into a fight though. Neither of them would be interested in taking things that far.

In the Heylin AU they would probably end up playing a game of cards (if there are any on hand) or doing some silly training exercise that has just enough of a competitive edge that it leaves Chase getting out of the box smug and Fung silently fuming. They have lived with each other long enough to know how to keep the peace but it’s constantly on a racers edge.

Story: Nora, Tristan and Daniel are 3 of Vanessa’s friends and coworkers, but just like Vanessa they are also victims of both Glitchtrap and Vanny, the 3 of them were each lured to the pizzaplex where glitchtrap used a digital consciousness transference to trap their minds inside of different arcade machines meanwhile he creates digital copies of their consciousness that are corrupt and evil to puppeteer and have as extra pawns (it’s kinda like body swapping with a evil version of yourself). The 3 of them are mentally trapped within one of the many pizzaplex arcade machines (the arcade machines their trapped in are actual ones in the base game, Nora’s consciousness is trapped in a game called Double Zero, Tristan’s Consciousness is trapped in a game called Tower Tipper and Daniel’s Consciousness is trapped in a game called Gear Racer, their minds are trapped inside the code and are unable to escape themselves, their also partially aware of what their physical bodies are experiencing. During Gregory’s pizzaplex journey he comes across these 3 arcade machines that give off a strange vibe unlike the others, one by one he plays all three of them and manages to save/free them and they join him in his mission to stop Glitchtrap, Vanny and rescue Vanessa. Once free Nora, Tristan and Daniel somehow manage to develop strange abilities that are associated with their arcade machines.

(Marinette forfeits trying to win to rescue Sabrina and guide her to the finish line.)

WALL OF TEXT BELOW THE CUT

The first thing I have to address is hor horribly Ninjago butchers the subject of adoption trauma. It's not handled well in the tow other places it's talked about, Skybound or Quest for the Lost Powers, but this post is already gonna be way too fucking long so we're not gonna talk about that.

According to Tommy Anderson, the original concept for Prime Empire had Jay's mother involved. She was going to be trapped in the game, and Jay's lightning power would be imperative to her survival, but it was ultimately scrapped. We don't see Jay reference the fact that he's adopted for this entire season--in fact, the last time he mentioned it was in Skybound (well, he also brought it up in Decoded while explaining the plot of Skybound) despite the fact that there has been ample opportunity to. He could have done it in Hands of Time when the previous generations of elemental masters was being discussed, or he could have brought it up when Harumi killed her adoptive parents in Sons of Garmadon, or literally any other time in the five seasons between Skybound and Prime Empire, but he doesn't. That's fine I guess, this is a show that rarely gets that deep. But then WHY bring it up at the end of Prime Empire, out of nowhere, especially in a way that makes it seem like we've witnessed Jay reflecting about his biological family at all?

To me, it kind of seems like it's because that was intended to be the emotional through-line of the season. Just like Master of the Mountain was about Cole coming to know his mother, Prime Empire seemed like it was meant to be about Jay coming to know his mother. Jay's "My parents abandoned me too but that's okay" line at the end felt like it was the ending to a different season, instead of the series of episodic side quests that was Prime Empire.

And on that note, the pacing is horrendous in this arc. Instead of going back and forth between the two groups, the one inside the game and the ones outside the game, it does this weird thing where it chunks it, spending several season with the 5 ninja and then cutting out to follow the Zane/Pixal/Wu story line for two full episodes.

(ON THAT NOTE, there is so much wasted potential for this season to have genuine themes. If not about Jay coming to terms with his adoption, then about the genuinely fascinating implications of a world where AI this advanced exists, but no, we just got Pixal being told that her feelings weren't real and she couldn't make connections like a human could and then it was resolved in ten minutes.)

I am Okino, as much as I love it, was an unnecessary episode. It would have been fantastic if we had time for it but these episodes are only 10 minutes long and there's only 16 and we DON'T HAVE TIME FOR IT. The league of Jay was really thrown in for half an episode and then was never elevant again. Lloyd, Cole, Nya, and Kai are all useless when they first enter the game and yet in the shorts Jay still gets to keep all his ninja skills. There's so many just random little things in this arc and it just. What.

THERE'S SO MANY RANDOM LITTLE THINGS IN THIS ARC AND I LOVE IT!!!

Dance Episode! Noir Episode! A gazillion side characters! Random Harumi fight!! It's SO GOOD!

It introduces way to many chaaracters, but it gets you to care about them in a way that Ninjago usually doesn't with it's side characters. I care about Okino! I care about Racer Seven! I care about Milton Dyre! Ninjago is a show with too many characters but in Prime Empire that doesn't take bother me as much because I LIKE them all.

With the way it's so episodic it honestly feels like watching Legacy of the Green Ninja. Dance episode! Race episode! Noir episode (will die mad that Ninjago Confidential wasn't called Nindroid Noir)! Side quest side quest side quest! After the heaviness of the Oni Trilogy and the second half of The Secrets of Forbidden Spinjitzu, it was just so refreshing to watch a season that was so fun.

And Prime Empire is GORGEOUS. The aesthetic of it was a little different than Ninjago's usual and it really worked, the animation was fantastic, the color palet was great, the lighting was just. Chef's kiss.

And the score of Prime Empire is genuinely the best score of any season of Ninjago and I will not be taking arguments. You are simply wrong. The music of Prime Empire is so FUN.

I guess that's kind of the thesis of this whole rant. Prime Empire may not have the strongest plot but it's the most fun to watch of all the recent Ninjago seasons-- of all the Ninjago seasons, in my opinion, and that's why it's my favorite one.
