It's never going to happen in canon, but Season 5's finale set up the perfect villain arc for Marinette.

After everything goes down, Marinette still can't get used to the idea of peace. Gabriel's statue haunts her, all her friends seem to betray her with their happiness.

So she takes Adrien's Amok and wears it, at first to reassure herself that Adrien is safe. Then, because she doesn't think it's too much of an ethical violation – "Adrien loves me already" – she starts giving him little commands that curtails him to her. Marinette notices that this means that Adrien spends less time with other people and does what she wants, and this gives her a rush of exhilaration as she is seduced by the intoxication of control.

She's doing the right thing, as the leader, as the only sensible person who knows that this serenity is not going to last, the best defence is an offence. So, she starts restricting the Miraculous, the Kwami, re-writing the rules of the Guardianship – eventually leading to her becoming a despot of Paris.

No one can stand up to her. Chat Noir is indisposed (no one knows where he is), the civilian population is, of course, helpless against Ladybug's might, and if Su-Han achieved the rank of a Celestial Guardian, it's pretty clear that any other Celestial Guardian dispatched against Ladybug will crumble before her.

This leads to Félix becoming a vigilante, the only Holder of the Miracle Box who never trusted her Miraculous with Marinette in the first place. He teams up with Lila and Chloé, both of them who bears an agenda against Ladybug. They're not battling her for virtuous reasons, but because they're her only serious opponents, thus they gain the support and love of the city.

Realising quickly that Adrien is her emotion crutch and that lifting him from Marinette's control will cause her sanity to spiral (BIG plus: Félix wants to free his cousin from another human who tries to shackle him to their hand), their first major success is wrestling Adrien's Amok from Ladybug's hand and spiriting him from her stronghold.

It is then,that the three of them realises that Adrien has been Chat Noir all this time.

And he is not happy.

(I know that Luka knows who Adrien is, but, my man, I have nothing against you but you have been consistently useless throughout the entire series and I have no doubt that sentiment will carry through even when Marinette morphs into a monstrous locomotive puffing down the road to Hell that is paved with good intentions.)

People who deserve redemption, according to Thomas Astruc, written from least to worst of a bad character.

Kim Lê Chiến

Dumbass teenage boy who could have killed Marinette with a dumb prank he was completely concious of, and willing to commit. The boy was also a brat/ bully throughout season 1, but after Dark Cupid had apparently decided to be nicer off screen. Became friends with Max and got a girlfriend... BUT still refers to Chloe as the funniest and prettiest girl, IN FRONT of said girlfriend. Sees nothing wtong with what he did to the point of getting upset enough to become akumatized over the issue. He was allowed to be a super hero without even apologizing to Marinette dor over a year, and did a lot of dumb stuff tht was also forgiven just because. Is also one of the most inconsistently written characters in tbe story.

Jagged Stone

Possibly the most likable man on the list. However this man abandoned his twins and didn't contact them for 14 years. He kept his identity a secret and it's not even known if he paid child support before coming back into their lives, and constantly having fights with their mother.

That said he's put low on the list because we don't know if he did or did not pay child support. He's not mean to his children or kids in general, he is legit trying to make up for his absence and he originally left because his life was too chaotic to have custody. There's a lot of ambiguity and behind the scenes drama that is not explored (*cough thought out cough cough*) in this family, and it's even possible the mom fought for full custody to keep him away after a big break up. The situation is too ambiguous to judge.

Sabrina Raincomprix

Sabrina has been Chloe's number 1 supporter and follower for almost a decade. They were childhood friends and wherever Chloe went, she went. She has been supporting Chloe bad deeds and even happily participating throughout most of them. There were two incidents in season 1 where they almost stopped being friends and Marinette made an attempt to leave the friendship once, but for the most part has stuck throigh and done everything Chloe has wanted her to do and loved doing it. This includes stealing, faking notes, doing her homework, coming up with schemes to bully, laughing at all the chaos, making grown women and other teens cry and so much more. She was even given the dog Miraculous in season 4, by Marinette, despite doing nothing to earn it and only being good at soccer and wanting to SAVE Chloe, so they could bully another day.

In the end she's given a redemption arc because she feels bad for stealing (all of a sudden), and because Chloe was becoming friends with Lilah. The fact she's an active participant in bullying who gets off on the power trip of putting others drown, is not brought up again

Alec Cataldi

Alec's career is based on putting other people down, and is responsible for the first akumatized victim in the show back in episode 1. For four seasons, his entire personality was finding people, mocking them, on television or in person, and getting views off it. He's a spiteful man who makes his living off the suffering of others.

However in season 4 we find out that his biggest dream was to become a drag queen when he was little, and he was mocked for it. After that happened he shaved his hair off and started putting down other people's passions, in the same way his had dreams had been squashed. After his first and only akumatization, he has a break down and epithany, decides to live his true self and raise people up instead instead. On paper, he has the best redemption arc so far.

Félix Fathom

Fèlix was introduced in season 3, and his first on-screen acts include destroying Adrien's things, trying to ruin his cousin's reputation and leave him friendless, sexually assaulting Ladybug, and stealing from the Agreste family. He continues his bad deeds in season four with identity theft, and stealing all the Miraculous' from Ladybug and giving them to Gabriel/ AKA Hawkmoth, in return for the Peacock Miraculous.

We learn in season 5 he's a sentimonster who's been acting out due to an abusive father and his fragile existence in the world. He uses his power to remove everyone in the world in a misplaced effort to make him and his cousin happy, before eventually being talked down by Kagami and Adrian.

He eventually starts stalking Kagami and after revealing himself, they start a relationship together. He seems socially inept and yet despite all his knowledge on his, Adrien's and Kagami's situation, he decides to never tell Adrian aboht what's happening and only Marinette in the most awkward dance number ever.

All in all Fèlix had every opportunity and all the power to reveal Hawkmoth's true identy from the start, but never took the steps to reveal his identity and work towards true redemption. And if he decided to tell Chat Noir/ Ladybug the whole story, the three of them could have defeated monarch. And Adrien and Kagami would nit have been forced to goto London.

André Bourgeois

Andrè is a corrupt mayor, who uses his elected title and money to regularly take advantage of the people of Paris. He has fired people without just cause (even his own "friends"), tried to steal things he was denied, abused funds, and enable his daughters worst decisions. He raised Chloe alone since she was 4-6, and has both neglected her emotional needs, refused to parent his child, rewarded her bad behavior with material possessions, and allowed her to idolize her mother, and even encouraged her to model her behavior after her mother she abandoned them, and then abandons her and hands her over to her abusive mother at the end of the series, while taking in her half sibling, who he has not raised and has no legal claim over.

Andrè blames the women in his life for how he's turned out. Claiming he only wanted to be a film director, and only left to be a successful business tirant and corrupt political figure, for his wife Audrey. Who he still stays married to after she cheats on him, and moves away for half a decade, abandoning hik and their own daughter. He chooses to stay married. Chose to stay in that career and chose to constantly rip off and screw over the people of paris. Often being the cause of akumatization, and ruinging big events for his daughter's whims. Keep in mind, the only reason Chloe is like this now, is because of Aundrè's parenting, yet he never takes responsibility for that, and instead decides to abdocate his position, illigally allow his daughter to take control of the city, let her take all the fall for HIS crimes, and then abandon her to live with his step daughter instead.

All this to say that Andrè may be the second worst on the list, but I hate him the most.

Gabriel Agreste

What can't you say about this man. This man loves being evil. He dances through the halls when a scheme looks like it's about to work. His entire power is taking advantage of people at thier worst, enslaving them and then making them do his bidding. His list of victims includes literal babies, children of all ages, the mentally ill, the elderly, and even his own son. The son which he claims to love but whom he actively manipulates, abuses and mistreats throughout the ENTIRE series. He literally controls him to make him do whatever he wants, and when he acts out or says something he does not like, he belittles him and will actively punish him if he gets less than perfect.

Gabriel also disrespects and will backstab all his allies. Has enslaved 2 kwami's and claims everything he does is for his dead wife, whose corpse he keeps locked away in his basement. He is actively going against her wishes to stay dead and manipulates the love of the women around him, like Natalie, to move forward with his evil plans.

Lastly when he says he does it all for his wife, he's lying. Because the when he has the opportunity to go back in time and save his wife, or fight Ladybug, he actively chooses the latter.

He constantly terrorizes Paris, actively makes situations worst for people to make more akumatized victims, destroys property, all while he hides away in the shadows. Then finally in season 5, when he is confronted by Ladybug, he is given the opportunity to reform and really think about what he did. To reflect on all he's done. He uses a moment of vulnerability and weakness to manipulate Marinette and treats her like the puppet she's named after. His last act of the show is stealing the Miraculous, using the cat and Ladybug to destroy and recreate the world how he wills, where he's the hero and no one knows he's the villain, and his son who he abused for 5 seasons and now has left parentless, now sees him as a hero.

I like the idea of Nathalie marrying Amelie after Gabriel's death and becoming Félix's strict stepmom. Félix would probably resent her for breaking up the codependent thing he's going going on with his mom AND bc she was a former Peacock miraculous user down bad for his shitty uncle of all people. Blech. They'd spend months waging psychological warfare on each other. (Nathalie tries to be nice but Félix won't allow it. It's constant evenly matched fighting that Amelie pretends not to notice....lol...

Marinette knew perfectly well that Chloé and you were dating. She would not have paid attention to it, and maybe even would have been happy for you, if not for one small fact. You both didn't let her live in peace. You've teased her before and played little pranks on her and the others, but when you started dating Chloé, the amount of rudeness directed at her from your side seemed to increase. You didn't try to ruin her life like Chloé, but you didn't leave her alone either. Marinette wasn't sure if the reason was your bad temper or if it was Chloé who was pushing you to new rudeness and pranks against her

Chloé often watched you making fun of Marinette and was clearly pleased with it. You often grinned and Marinette tried to ignore you, and when she couldn't, her friends came to her aid, who were always ready to stand up to both you and your girlfriend. You retreated, but that didn't mean you wouldn't return to your work later. At least once a day, you reminded Marinette of yourself and your bad temper, and she gradually began to get used to the fact that you, as if on an internal schedule, irritated her again, although at different times of the day, but you definitely reminded her of yourself

One day, when your girlfriend wasn't by your side, she asked you why you kept doing this. Marinette didn't understand if you really wanted to impress Chloé so much and therefore continued to not let Marinette live in peace. When she said that to you, you looked annoyed. You came closer to her and she tensed, expecting that you were angered by her words and you were going to hit her, but you didn't. You didn't even try to do it. You leaned over to her and said in a calm voice that your girlfriend had nothing to do with it. You just liked creating chaos, it amused you, and if you could amuse yourself and please Chloé, then you weren't going to turn down the opportunity

Sometimes she hoped that you would still find other ways to have fun, but for now you continued to be an annoying guy who gave no peace to anyone. Marinette did not want others to suffer through your fault, so she tried to make sure that your rudeness and pranks did not cause real harm and did not create new villains that she had to face

You met Zoé when you were waiting for your girlfriend. She was looking for her room, and you were just wandering the halls out of boredom and looking for something to do. She bumped into you by accident and hurried to apologize to you. You stood up to your full height, looking at her curiously, and then a smirk appeared on your lips. Zoé wasn't sure why you were smiling like that, but it bothered her. You told her that you didn't resent her at all and left, saying goodbye that you'd see her soon, and for some reason, you called her sis. It wasn't until she found out that you were her stepsister's boyfriend that she realized why you bothered her so much. You weren't much better than Chloé

She understood that you saw that the way she behaved around her mother and stepsister was just acting, but you didn't talk about it. Marinette told her to be careful with you, because you were bothering none of your classmates even before you and Chloé started dating, and when you started dating, it seemed to only get worse. You kept calling her sis, which made Chloé roll her eyes. When Zoé stopped hiding her true nature, her stepsister was just furious about it, and you could barely contain your laughter. But seeing the sinister gleam in your eyes, she realized that the period when she avoided your taunts and pranks was over, exactly from the moment her acting ended

You kept calling her sis, and it became a well-established nickname for her, but it was the only thing that remained the same. She, like the others, was the victim of your ridicule. Chloé obviously liked it, but you were also more focused on your own fun rather than pleasing your girlfriend. Pranks and taunts were still your personal outlet. Zoé didn't understand why you were like that. She might still understand if your girlfriend was the reason for this, but you've been like this before, which means it was solely you. You found it fun to annoy and scare others, and there wasn't much others could do about it

You often bumped into each other at the hotel when you visited Chloé. It seemed inevitable to her, but Zoé didn't want to antagonize you. She wanted to believe that somewhere behind the prickly mask there was a kinder nature that you hid from everyone. She didn't know if she was right or if you were just an unpleasant person, but for now she continued to keep her distance from you so as not to provoke your new ridicule of her

Félix met you when he pretended to be his cousin again. He expected that he would be able to trick you, just like everyone else, but you stopped and frowned at him. You asked him directly who he was. Your words surprised him, but he continued to try to play his part, even though he understood that you had already figured him out. It was only the fact that you were distracted by a phone call that helped him get away. But pretty quickly he found out that you were far from the most pleasant person, and every time you bumped into him, you showed it, not forgetting to remind him of your first meeting

You didn't really care why Félix was pretending to be Adrien. You didn't have any warm feelings for any of them, and you weren't going to give him any peace. You were still sharp and rude, but he wasn't going to be nice to you either. During your conversation, he showed his character without worrying about anything, and it made you grin. It's like you've finally found a worthy opponent who, unlike the others, rarely tried to stand up to you, especially when Chloé was around. It was your girlfriend who told you more about him, and you just couldn't help but take a small advantage in your battle that had begun

You didn't see each other that often, which seemed to upset you a little. Chloé obviously didn't like him, and you watched with interest how indignant she was when you mentioned him. She compared him to his cousin, but at this point you usually interrupted her, not having the slightest desire to listen to her stories about Adrien. You didn't like to hear about him, especially when you remembered the time when she was in love with him. It would seem that it was quite obvious, and Félix took advantage of it in your clashes and drove you crazy with it

Perhaps if you had seen each other more often, your confrontation would have been more serious, but so far you have seen each other quite rarely due to the fact that he lived in another country. But every time you did see him, you weren't going to leave him alone no matter what. Not a single meeting of yours was complete without an exchange of barbs, and no one could stop you from doing so

When you first met Cerise, she introduced herself to you all as Lila. You didn't like her at first sight. You felt how fake she was, and looking at how she surrounded herself with others, you realized that you were not mistaken. She saw that you didn't believe a single word she said, and if you were on better terms with your classmates, it might have been a problem for her, but you didn't let anyone rest with your barbs, so she made it look like you just found a new victim for your rude words and pranks. You didn't try to convince the others of this, seeing no point in it, but you weren't going to leave her alone either. She annoyed you with how fake she was

When she left school, you doubted very much that even one word of her reason was true. But you weren't going to get hung up on her. You had much more important things to do. This continued until she reappeared. But seeing your grin, Cerise tensed up. She had no idea that you had noticed her several times during your walks around the city. This once again confirmed your idea that her words were a lie. You asked Chloé to stay away from her, but she herself was not against it, experiencing irritation similar to yours. But you weren't going to leave Cerise alone

Every time you bumped into her, you didn't miss the opportunity to say something sarcastic to her, and she was polite, playing the victim, not going to admit that you found out more about her than she would like. But sometimes she started making eye contact with you when she was a different person. You didn't care how many people she was cheating on, but you weren't just going to overlook the fact that she was trying to cheat on you. Even when she and your girlfriend were temporarily on the same side, you weren't going to treat her any better, and it was definitely mutual

Frankly, you didn't care what her name was, what her reasons for lying were, or what she wanted to do. For you, she was the one you bothered with your barbs and rudeness, even when she stopped showing up at school. Every time you ran into each other in the city, it was like you couldn't let her go without telling her something unpleasant. She wasn't going to give up so easily and continued to play her role. For both of you, it was a confrontation in which neither you nor she were going to lose

The Chloé Vs Félix Double Standered

Chloé: *had a terrible upbringing which led her to be a bully and proceeded to help a terrorist because the only good person/role model in her life was a bitch*

The show/fans: SHES HORRIBLE!! SHES IRREDEEMABLE!! SHE DESERVED TO BE REPLACED!!! I HATE HER!!

Félix: *had a terrible upbringing which led him to be an anti-social jerk and actively aided a terrorist and the destruction of Paris for his own personal gain*

The show/fans: Hes a baby! He didnt mean it! He deserves to be a hero!

Do you guys see what I'm getting at here? The point of the matter is both of them are horrible people!

Chloé was a bully to try to win her mothers approval, and when the only other good role model in her life just tossed her off to the side with no regrade for her own emotions (especially because Ladybug was actively abusing her power and role as Ladybug) she decided to go to Hawk Moth because he was the one giving her what she wanted! Not to mention he's always been good at manipulating people, so OF COURSE Chloé is going to agree with him!

Félix was abused by his father and was only ever freed when he had died due to using the Peacock Miraculous. He then proceeded to actively HELP A TERRORIST for his own gain! Sure it was for a reason (to keep himself and Adrien safe) but he was the reason for someone to have a mental break, cause hundreds of people to be hurt emotionally and physically, and HE DID NOT CARE for the safety of an entire CITY! Thats not even mentioning the fact that he KILLED THE ENTIRE HUMAN RACE!?!

Point is: If Chloé, a mentally and emotionally abused 14 year-old who only ever wanted to be loved, is irredeemable then so is Félix, given he didn't have a valid reason to betray Ladybug as if he truly wanted himself and Adrien to be safe, all he had to do was tell Ladybug who Shadow Moth was.

Don't get me wrong, I adore both of these characters, but if you claim Chloé can't be redeemed but will defend Félix, then you're holding them to a double standard. The same could be said the other way around.

I'm not saying that they both deserve to be thrown into the sun or both should just get off with only a slap on the wrist; but I AM saying that I hate seeing people claim one is better than the other when it's just not true.

The show either should've given Félix a proper punishment for not only aiding Shadow Moth but, and I cannot stress this enough, KILLING THE ENTIRE HUMAN RACE. Or they shouldn't have gotten rid of Chloé's character development.

On top of that, at least season 2/3 Chloé had SOME kind of character arc, Félix just kind of... existed? He didn't really prove himself to be better besides explaining why he did what he did. (Which, again, both he and Chloé don't have a valid excuse for what they did)

But anyway, small promo: In my rewrite Chloé's getting a redemption but she WILL face consequences for her actions and Félix will just not be that horrible of a person, so he doesn't technically need a redemption.

Idk I just like Félix and Marinette together, their both insane and I think that’s hilarious. Like them both knowing absurd information about each other because of how much they stalk and spy. And when either is confronted with the information their like “well it’s just something everyone should know!” Like someone’s medical history or daily routine is just common knowledge.

It would also be a hundreds times funnier if it’s not out of suspicion but romantic interest. Just Ladybug keeping tabs on a possible suspect! Just Argos scoping out his target! Haha no obsession rooted in their deeply flawed romantic perceptions, nope!

I was just thinking that given that Lila/Cerise is going to be a/the main antagonist in the future, it's a good thing that the Miraculous team now seem to have Félix on their side (and in their friend group too I suppose) as he might be the only one who will be able to see through her future's alias lies.

I mean, sure Marinette saw through her the first time, but not only was her jealousy over Adrien a major factor, she also knew for a fact that Lila didn't know Ladybug.

Similarly, Adrien, being Chat Noir, could find it suspect that Ladybug would be friend with a civilan, let alone one who talked about it so freely. What's more, while he might be a bit naive at times, his fame has him used to liars up to a point.

The rest of their friends though all seem pretty willing to trust her. I guess the only odd-one-out is Luka who I believe never interacted with her.

If she goes with more subtle lies, the way I seem to remember she did with Kagami, not lies about extraordinary achievements or famous acquaintances, but lies or implicit suggestions about interpersonal relationships, I'm not sure any if the Miraculous holders will see through it.

Félix might be the only exception in my eyes. While he seems to be somewhat sheltered, like Adrien and Kagami, and thus not the best when it comes to social cues and conventions, he is the most wary, the one most used to fend for himself. He is naturally suspicious where Adrien would give people the benefit of the doubt. I'm not sure if his Miraculous might give him an additional advantage (make him some kind of empath), but that's also something to keep in mind. His own acting skill might be, to our knowledge, limited to imitating his cousin, but his skills as a magician might help him catch Lila/Cerise red-handed at some point. And he has shown an ability to come up with ambitious plans and to achieve his goals through a variety of means that only Lila/Cerise can rival with so far.

The rest of them are just too "innocent".

Though Luka could also be a candidate, due to his "empath" music skills.

For both of them though, there is the question of how much interaction they might actually have with Lila/Cerise as they have been rather secondary characters so far. And the show seems to stubbornly only focus on Marinette/Ladybug, and Adrien/Chat Noir to a lesser extent. The start of a new villain arc would be a great time to change the dynamic, but I'm not very optimistic regarding the probability of this actually happening (this is a kids' show with a vested (economic) interest to keep focusing on the friendly heroine and her cool & gentlemanly sidekick, rather than the deeper, somewhat ambivalent secondary characters).

In the end I wouldn't be surprised if they have Marinette being the one to see through her because of Lila/Cerise's animosity towards her and Ladybug. Possibly with Adrien/Chat Noir being taken advantage of, with the true circumstances of his father's death being kept from him by Ladybug, and Lila/Cerise telling him the truth or something close to it, plus not having "been there to save his father" and him still being just "one of the (Miraculous) team" getting to him.

If they are going to stick to Marinette and Adrien instead of giving a bigger role to secondary characters, let's hope they at least make it somewhat interesting by having Marinette completely falling for the "new girl's" friendly attitude and Adrien being the suspicious one.

But yeah, fingers crossed for more Félix screen time (he's definitely the most interesting character so far, toeing the line between "good and bad") and him being key to "defeating" Lila/Cerise. And in general to more "mature" storylines than what we've had so far. And/or more realistic ones.
