Been doing more research and digging, and I've come to some conclusions (although this is Largely unfinished)

Sufism and Quranism are looking pretty nice to me

Follow the Message

Any act of making an edict that is not directly outlined in the Qur'an, is an act of Shirk. Only God makes the rules, and if you decide you or anyone else can make rules too, you are setting yourself up as a partner or equal to God.

There are no dances you can do to get around this, though many Muslims will do backflips of Olympic levels all day every day to ensure they don't have to give up their precious hadiths; but, it does not stop the truth from existing:

🅐 God told us the Qur'an is complete

🅑 God told us to beware of hadiths

🅒 God gave us the rules -- everything is permissible for us except that which is outlined specifically in the complete book.

🅓 God told us to beware anyone else trying to make rules

God's "hand on the community" still does not give anyone the right to make a rule not directly outlined in the Qur'an. As well, people who knew the Prophet, and even the Prophet himself, did not have the right to make rules outside of the Qur'an. Following the Prophet as an example of behavior is one thing, but using him to make edicts about that behavior being 'mandatory' is a clear act of shirk, and following those rules is a deviation from Islam and God's word.

Meanwhile, below is a good reminder, while we are all immersed in and bombarded by mainstream Islam that insists on elevating a Prophet so high up that he has become partners with God... following the messenger is following the message (not the man):

(3:79-80) It is not for a human that God would give him the book, the authority, and the prophethood, then he would say to the people: "Be servants to me rather than to God!", rather: "Be devotees to what you have been taught of the book, and to what you studied." Nor does he order you that you take the angels and the prophets as lords. Would he order you to reject after you have peacefully surrendered?
