Puzzle aroace - A term for someone who is both quoiromantic quoisexual (quoirose) and on the aroace spectrum; a quoirose aroace(spec) combination identity

Etymology: I chose the word “puzzle” (meaning something that is confusing or difficult to explain) for this term since “quoi aroace” is a synonym for quoirose.

My romantic and sexual orientation or lack thereof

After literal years of swimming between aroace and pan, because on the one side I never felt romantic or sexual attraction to anyone but knowing that if I did I wouldn't give a shit about the gender of those people, I've finally found a label that fits me: quoi. Quoiromantic because the concept of romantic attraction just doesn't apply to me. Quoisexual because the concept of sexual attraction doesn't apply to me. Quoirose for short, I don't have a romantic or sexual orientation.

update: still technically unlabeled, but instead of unlabeled mspec aspec enbian...i decided to condense that into unlabeled quoirose.

like. this specifically tells you three things: 1.) i like who i like and i usually don't care what gender they are (unlabeled) but 2.) my sexuality is fluid meaning that i sometime don't like all genders, but instead every gender but binary men or every gender but binary men and women (quoisexual) and i am theoretically allosexual and even bc i frequently talk about my sexual crushes and sexual desires i seem allosexual but i would also not care if i never had sex with anyone for the rest of my life (quoisexual), and 3.) i romantically only like nonbinary people of various genders with the rare binary man and binary woman in practice (quoiromantic) and am often dark gray in my attraction except to nonbinary people, which is more frequent (quoiromantic), and although i am het romance and heteronormativity repulsed (quoiromantic) i am not romance repulsed (quoiromantic)

like....i feel comfortable with unlabeled quoirose even if people think it sounds contradictory. hope that helps

Genderquoi orientationgender flags :) (not to be confused with quoigender)

Definition:

genderquoi: when your quoi- identity is so intrinsically tied to your gender that you absolutely cannot separate the two.

(quoi here means things like quoisexual, quoiromantic, quoirose, etc.)

Both flags follow the 5 stripe style of orientationgender flags.

The first uses the colours of this quoi flag, and the second uses this other quoi flag. I've heard of the distinction that the white stripe one is for quoisexual, while the grey stripe one is for quoiromantic, so these can also be thought of as genderquoix (quoix is short for quoisexual) (left side), and genderquoiro (quoiro is short for quoiromantic) (right side) flags.

do you or anyone else know a label that means you’re aroace-spec but it’s too complicated to pinpoint? like, i know i’m aroace-spec and not strictly aroace but i have no idea what labels work for me and it all feels complicated.

There's novisexual/noviromantic which means complicated attraction or lack thereof that's difficult or impossible to fit into one term. (Which for aroace spectrum you could combine into novirose if you wanted. The rose prefix means romantic+sexual).

Another possibility is just use labels more broadly, for example aroace-spec can be a standalone, or even just a-spec. Which is a route some people take when their label just feels too complicated to label more closely.

quoiromantic/sexual is another label that is sometimes used by people who have trouble pinpointing their specific labels, quoi is a bit of an umbrella term, but there's a good article on quoiromantic here and quoisexual here explaining what they mean. (And quoiromantic quoisexual can be shortened to quoirose too.)

So hopefully that at least gives you some ideas or some areas to explore. All the best, Anon!
